Dynamically change image in another front panel

Hi everyone,
I have a 2D picture that is shown full screen on another front panel and when i enter new inputs (focal length or wavelength) in the main front panel, the picture in that second front panel will change. But I want the picture in the second front panel to be changed dynamically when I enter new inputs. I've tried doing it using a button ("Full screen") to make the picture change but it only be changed if i close the full screen picture and click on the button again. I would like to know if there are other ways of changing the picture dynamically without using any buttons.
Thanks

  • How can I simultaneously acquire and display an image on the front panel using a PCI-1424

    Dear friends;
I want to use PCI-1424  , and labview 5.1 to capture the image,  But I can not find some functions in labview to capture, display and save the image. Can you be kind to share some examples or provide some information.
Another question is how I CAN display the image in the front panel.
    thanks so much

    Hello yangshang,
Thank you for contacting National Instruments!  To acquire images from the 1424 you will need NI IMAQ 2.5.1 or later.  This can be found HERE on our drivers download page.  One thing to note is that in LabVIEW 5 we only had the ability to view an IMAQ image as a pop up window.  This VI is called "IMAQ Windraw".  This will pop up a separate window that will display your picture.  If you need to view the picture on the front panel you can try saving the image as a file (BMP, JPG, etc) then use the LabVIEW Graphics and Sound VI's to Read a picture file in and then wire the picture to a picture control on the front panel.  Let me know if you have anymore questions.  Good Luck.

  • Why does my Web Publishing Tool fail to create an image of my front panel when I select the "Embedded" viewing mode?

I am trying to create an html file for access by a client computer through the LabVIEW Web Server. I want to enable the client to control the vi, so am chosing "Embedded" for the Viewing Option in the Web Publishing Tool. The small preview screen in the Web Publishing Tool shows an image of my front panel, but the resulting html file does not include this image. The Web Server error log shows a 404 error which I believe is due to the lack of an image (or any front panel objects) present in the html file: Error: 404 "Not Found" for "/.lv_frontpanelprotocol.rpvi100", file "c:/program files/national instruments/labview 2010/www/.lv_frontpanelprotocol.rpvi100": Can't access URL
If you are aware of this problem or know any solutions, please post a reply.
    Thanks,
    David

Does it work if you preview the web page locally?
Does the client computer have at least the minimum 2010 run time engine installed?

This Knowledgebase also has some information on programatically saving VI images

(KB 197BB7VJ if the link doesn't work).
Note that you don't have to put the code in the VI you are running in order to save it to a file, so you don't actually have to modify your VI. You can just run a seperate VI that uses the VI name from the first one (I've attached a VI which could either be run standalone or used as a SubVI, as well as an example of using it as a SubVI).
If you don't want to do it programatically you could just hit the print screen button on your keyboard and then paste it into paint and crop off the extra windows stuff.

  • Changing ipod cover (back/front panel)

    Hey,
I need some advice about changing your iPod case. I've browsed the internet a while and I discovered tons of sites that provide new back and front panels. They deliver those kits with the tools to successfully open your iPod. I thought thay could be a solution for me, but also for other people who find their new ipod damaged.
Those full kits retail for the price of about 60 dollar on Ebay, and that's a fair price I believe. You can also check ipodmods.com, but they are a lot more expensive
Now my question(s): is there anyone who has experience with doing this mod himself, so can someone give me advice about this subject.
Do I lose my guaranty when I do this? Even when you put back the original front/back panel?
I hope the community will be able to help me with this one
    Thanks

Never tamper with an Apple product unless it's something that you can do yourself, like installing memory, or an airport card, or an iBook keyboard. I believe it states that if you tamper with a product, iPod included, that your warranty is null and void. I wouldn't risk it, especially if you purchased apple care.

  • How can I simultaneously acquire and display an image on the front panel using a PCI-1408

I have to acquire and display an image directely in the front panel of a *.vi using a PCI-1408. i have to know all informmations about this image because I want to create a calibration system.

    Hi Paola,
if you own IMAQ Vision you can just have a look at the examples that comes with your board or you can look at: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/explprog.nsf/6c163603265406328625682a006ed37d/2abaefe05789961686256866007c0d22?OpenDocument.
    Without IMAQ Vision look at:

  • Can I embed an aquired image in the front panel or does it have to be in its own window?

I need to be repeatedly displaying processed images and I know that I can make the image window "float" so that it is always on top and never becomes hidden when I click in the vi's front panel, but it is inconvenient that if I move the vi window or scroll within it, the image window stays where it is. I would like the image display to be a part of the front panel if that is possible, so that both move together.
    Thanks

This is fairly simple to do.
I have attached Make IMAQ Child.vi, which is a slightly modified version of one I originally found on the NI website.
One required input is the filename of the parent VI, which can easily be obtained by using the "Current VI's Path" constant and Strip Path to remove the filename from the path.
The other required input is the IMAQ window number.
This will make the IMAQ window a child panel within the specified parent window. It will move with the parent window.

  • Yet another front panel audio thread

I am having problems with my front panel audio, rear audio works fine. I have read as many posts as I could find on the subject and still can't get my headphones to work. PC specs in signature. BIOS version is 7.3.
The case provides the following wires.
    EAR L
    EAR R
    RETURN L
    RETURN R
    MIC IN
    MIC VCC
    GROUND
I have read the Intel Front Panel I/O Connectivity Design document from http://www.formfactors.org/developer%5Cspecs%5CA2928604.pdf and it doesn't seem like my case connectors follow the HD audio scheme. I connected according to the AC'97 scheme (except that I only have a single ground plug so I placed it in pin 4 of JAUD1). The headphones do not work. I disabled the Azalia/AC'97 BIOS setting to enable AC'97 audio support and neither the headphones nor the rear speakers work. I have checked the Realtek audio console's Audio I/O tab and unchecked the "Disable front panel jack detection" checkbox. The audio console does not show any headphones plugged in with the Azalia/AC'97 BIOD setting enabled or disabled. I think that I have my case wires plugged into JAUD1 incorrectly. Any suggestions? Thanks.

    just for fun....
hook the front panel stuff back up inside your computer...
    Open the Realtek Audio Manager..
    Click the Audio I/O tab..
just to the right of where it says Analog, there is a little blue dot...
Click it and click to disable front jack detection..
Then click the Front headphone picture on that page (make sure your headphones are plugged in)
    make sure headphone is selected..
Do the same for the microphone...
    then click the Mixer tab..
scroll along till you see Front Green In and Front Pink In
Make sure they aren't Muted and raise the volume level up..
If you have a microphone plugged into one of the jacks, click the tiny button to the right of the mute button to boost your mic...
Not sure if thats your problem but ..
that control panel is a nightmare...
    Good luck

  • Rollover text that changes images in another location.

I have a list of names in iWeb and I want to make it so that when you hover over a name their picture shows up on the right.
I would like all the pictures to show up in the same spot (and just change whenever the mouse is hovering over a different name)
    Can anybody help me?

    Just a couple more questions:
The pictures I have are variable sizes, and I've been playing with the code to try and find where the change is to allow them to appear in their respective dimensions. Should I just add an alpha layer to the images surrounding them, (so they're all the same dimensions/ratio), or is there a quick way to change the code to account for this?
And the other question is a bit of a stupid one, but I'm using the dakota handwriting font with a cream/ivory color text, and I'm not seeing in the code where to change the color of the text from blue, or what to type into the font (replacing verdana) for the dakota handwriting.
Here's kinda how I'd like the page to look:

  • How can I change visibility of images pasted on the front panel?

    Hello,
I'm using LabView 8.5 and I have pasted images on my front panel.
Is there a way to programmatically change the visibility of these images (i.e. have them displayed sometimes and not at other times)?
There doesn't seem to be an option to get a visibility node (or anything else programatic) when I secondary click on the images.
Alternatively, if there is some kind of control in 8.5 that I could load and display images in order to obtain this visible/not visible functionality, that would also be helpful.
    Thank you in advance

  • How to pop up another VI front panel and run this in the main VI?

    Hi all,
I want to create a VI, which contain several buttons: like "RUN ANALYSIS 1" and "RUN ANALYSIS 2".
When I click one of them, another front panel of VI jump out and run automatically. When I click on "Finish" button on this VI (the one jump out), this front panel close.
    How to complete it?
    Thanks,

    Hi Osso,
The ability to click on other VIs is also controlled by the Window Appearance. If you follow Dennis' instructions above, but this time change the Window Behavior to modal.  You can find more information about the different selections in the LabVIEW Help: Customize Window Appearance Dialog Box.

Is there some way to obtain an image of my ENTIRE front panel? Thanks

    Hi,
Here's how I got ride of tghis issue, I use Windows "printscreen" function by simulating a keyboard stroke and then I get the data from clipboard (crop it it necessary) and save the image.
What I like about it is that the "crop" makes it easy to get just what I want when there's more than one monitor.
What I don't like is that it's a windows only solution.
    Hope it helps
