Earth Zoom scale problem

Hi there,
My first post on a Apple forum...quite a momentous occasion.
Basically I want to do a simple zoom in from an earth view into a city in Motion. I've researched it online and there is one tutorial which everyone points too:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkvURxnIKsw
I followed the tutorial using around 15 images from Google. All good. The problem happened when I came to keyframe the zoom in. I need to zoom in around 4000000 percent to get to my city from my widest shot. So on playback the zoom starts absurdly fast and ends absurdly slow, even with adjusting the keyframe interpolation. I use exactly the same method as the tutorial but the difference is, he is only zooming in from a wide view of a city to a building and so only needing around 3000 percent. Much easier to handle.
After Effects tutorials get around the huge scale problem by 'parenting' the layers to the closest image (ie:the city) but i can't seem to find a way similar in Motion.
Any help much appreciated

The corollary in Motion to parenting in After Effects (in this tutorial) is grouping. The way they use grouping in that tutorial, you should be able to get the results you're looking for.
Personally, I don't think you need so many groups. I put two layers into one group (GROUP 1), and scaled the first layer down. Then I added a 2nd group (GROUP 2) below the first group with my next largest pic. Instead of scaling down the 2nd layer to match the 3rd, I scaled GROUP 1 to match the 3rd layer. Once they matched, I dropped the 3rd layer into GROUP 1 and added a 4th layer to GROUP 2. Repeat as necessary.
When you're finished you'll have all the layers into a single group which should be at a small scale. Then animate your group.
The real problem is that you don't have an exponential scaling of your group. To solve that problem, animate your scale with the exponential behavior. Make sure that your group is at its farthest point. Right-click the scale and choose Exponential. Go to the end of the behavior. In the behaviors tab, adjust the End value until you're zoomed in to your nearest point. Open the Keyframe Editor (CMD+8) to view your exponential curve. Adjust the End Offset value on the behavior to shorten the animation to the length you want.
You can also get exponential scaling with the Grow/Shrink Behavior. It's the same basic idea. Add it to your group and adjust the scale. Make sure that the increment is set to Natural Scale. You might even get better results from that.

  • Open a pdf in an url with parameters #zoom=scale,left,top

    In the previous versions of Adobe Reader, it was possible to open a pdf in the web browser adding some arguments : #zoom=scale,left,top.
    So we could open the pdf at a specific position, with a specific zoom.
    But in the last version for windows, 10, the parameters 'left' and 'top' seem to be ignored. Only the zoom value is taken into account.
    There is no error message, no warning. We could write the values we want for the left and the top but nothing happens.
    So, I was wondering why it doesn't work anymore ?
    And to be sure, I re-installed the version 9  of Adobe and it works, but not with the 10.
    (and I hope that is not a fonctionnality which wasn't re-implemented in Adobe Reader 10).
    If someone has an idea...
    Thanks

    So, nobody has an idea ?
    Juste to be more clear, I give an example :
    http://www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/devnet/acrobat/pdfs/pdf_open_parameters.pdf#zoom =300,200,200
    Then, if you enter this url in a new tab, considering you use the adobe reader plugin to open pdf in web browser, the file will be opened with a zoom of 300, and the letf corner position will be at 200 pixels of the right, and at 200 pixels of the top.
    But it doesn't work with Adobe reader 10, that's my problem...
    Could someone help me with this ?

  • Remove Zoom scale of Google maps in OBIEE 11g Mapviewer

    Hi,
    While integrating Google maps with OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0 , we are able to see two Zoom scales one for BI layer and another for Base map layer (Google Map).
    When we select the former Zoom scale (BI Layer) , our views have been placed in exact countries. But when we select latter one, only base map i.e., Google map is zooming without upholding the views(Color fill,Image,Bar Graph,etc.,).
    So is there any way to bring synchronization between two layers with one zoom scale.
    Kindly help me to sort out this issue.
    Thanks in advance!

    Will require backport of a fix for mapviewer (oraclemaps.js) that has to be part of the OBIEE patchset.
    Filing a bug would help the process.

    Hi Team,
    I encountered a VM auto scale problem,

  • HTML5 Zoom Feature Problem on Safari iOS iDevices?

    Hello,
    I am building my own website in HTML5. If you have an iPhone (I use a 4S) you can check it out here: http://bigapplephototours.com/html5/
    When the website is first loaded up in portrait mode, the website fits nice and neat within the iPhones dimensions (if small). When you turn the iPhone to landscape mode, the website fills in this space nicely too.
    The problem happens when you turn the iPhone back into portrait mode. Using Safari, the website automatically zooms in and you can't see most of of the website. When you turn the phone, yet again, to landscape mode, the website stays in zoom mode. I don't want this.
    I only want the zooming feature in Safari to work when the screen is tapped. Check out http://www.apple.com and http://www.neonsky.com. These are two websites, when viewed with Safari on the iPhone, that stay unzoomed.
    Can someone please provide me with the correct HTML5 code that will fix this problem? So far, my google searches have yielded several other people with the same coding problem. Every fix I have tried has not worked. Please, if you know how to fix this problem, would you please give me a detailed coding fix?
    Thank you,
    David

  • Zoom in problem

    Hi,
    I'd like to ask about zooming problem.
    I can show a map using my own spatial dbase, but when I tried to zoom it, I got an error. It says OMS: MAPVIEWER-00109: XML map request: invalid map size or scale value.
    I can't determine my own map size and scale. I don't know how to do it. The size of my map is 500x307, but when I saw on mapviewer demo, it got a very small decimal (ex:2.5).
    Can anyone teach me how to determine a map size and scale? I guess, I can't really zoom in or out my map without the size and scale.
    I really appreciate ur help. thank you.

    FYI, I don't use any SRID. So I filled it with NULL.
    Because I don't know what kind of SRID that match with my map well.

  • SWF Export, no font showing in Acrobat and zoom border problem (Acrobat & Reader) - Indesign CS6

    Hi Everyone,
    If anyone could help me on this that would be great, I've spent hours on the forums and manuals to no avail.
    I'm making an interactive PDF brochure in Indesign for one of our new products and I'm having issues (actual or perceived??!!) with the SWF export and PDF creation.  I'm placing animations and video in the INDD, exporting it as an SWF (with the text option as Flash Classic Text) and then opening the SWF (not importing to a word doc or anything, just opening the SWF) with Acrobat using the advanced options to import the video resources and to enable the content when the page is opened.  I then save the file as a PDF.  In the PDF everything works as it should, the animations, the buttons, the video plays and so on.  Great.. hmm not quite.
    The trouble I am having is that all the content of the SWF when viewed in Acrobat seems to be getting rasterised/flattened - is this correct?  After the SWF is opened, Acrobat indicates no fonts in the fonts tab in the document properties so when the SWF is zoomed in Acrobat, or the saved PDF in Reader, the font gets pixelated and the document is not searchable/text can not be highlighted.  The images are not selectable either - it is as if the entire page has been flattened to one image.  Is there a way to stop this so that the SWF opened with Acrobat retains the font and individual images like a normal PDF?  Do I have to open the SWF in Flash first to set some parameters or something?  Is there something I am doing wrong when exprting the SWF from Indesign?  I think I have tried about every possible export combination.  When I open the .HMTL (exported at the same time as the SWF from Indesign) in a browser, the same happens.  All the animations work but the text appears to be rasterised/flattened/not searchable.  Sorry if I'm not using the correct terminology.
    I have tried importing the SWF back into another new INDD and exporting that as an interactive PDF but then the video does not work.  I suppose I could try exporting all the individual animations as SWFs, importing them all and trying to get them to work with the video but I can see that will take quite some time and does not seem to be a guaranteed solution from what I have read on the forums - video playback being the issue.
    Another problem is that when the SWF, or saved PDF, is zoomed in Acrobat/Reader between approx 150% and 210% a thick white border appears in the document and the content is squashed into the middle creating a slightly pixelated and narrow page.  When I zoom out from the page I get a small white line on the right hand border at around 70% zoom.  Please see images.  Does anyone have any idea why this is happening and what I can do to fix it?
    On another, sort of related topic, my timing panel went blank yesterday and was not showing any animations in documents that it had been used to order and synch animations on page load as well as new documents.  The panel was blank.  I updated to V8.0.1 and the panel sprang back into life - hope that helps anyone else finding the same problem.
    I am not very familiar with Indesign/Acrobat/Flash so I guess all the above could be what I'm doing or I could be asking  really dumb questions - apologies from a newbie.
    Best,
    Emily

    Hi All,
    I have now pretty much solved all the issues by creating the SWF in Flash rather than Indesign.  I would advise anyone looking to create an interative PDF with animation and interactivity to go with Flash from the start.  While Flash is a little more involved to create the same effects as Indesign, the extra time taken will ensure a more controllable and better looking PDF in terms of text quality, scalability and so on.  Plus you will not spend days trying to get video to work along side imported SWF etc in Indesign.  One of the best controls in Flash is being able to set the stage.scaleMode for the document so the PDF still looks crisp when zooming, no white borders etc.  So, create the .fla, export to .SWF, open the .SWF with Acrobat, modify the advanced settings to enable start on page load and save as a PDF.  If you don't know Flash, I didn't a couple of days ago, watch a couple of tutorials on Youtube.. buttons, tweens, embedding video and you'll be ready.  Don't be put off by ActionScript, there are really handy Code Snippets in CS6 that do all the heavy lifting for you.
    Sorry Indesign!
    Best,
    Em

  • Embedding swf into Flex Desktop Application size/scale problem.

    Hello,
    I am embedding an swf animation into my desktop Flex desktop application. I am using SDK 4.6.0. I use the SWFLoader to embed the animation:
    <s:SWFLoader source="img/mch_anim_1.swf"/>
    When I run the application, the animation is loaded and is working, but when I try to maximize the window there is a size/scale bug that happens. The screen  stays half-side maximized (maximized to the top, bottom and stays until the middle of the screen by side).
    I've published the SWF for Flash Player 8 and Actionscript 2 just to test and there was no problem with the size/scale, but I need to use Actionscript 3.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance,
    Stefan

    I found the problem!
    There was a line of code that was auto-generated from using a template out of Flash CS6. The line of code that caused it is:
    stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.SHOW_ALL;
    After deleting it, everything is now working properly.
    Greetings!

  • Flash image viewer, picture scale problem in CS3

    Please someone help me. I have built a website 3 years ago, and I still have this problem. In CS3 I added a flash image viewer (slideshow.swf) as a slideshow to show gardens we have made. When you first visit the site and look at the pictures (wich are bigger than the viewer window because of picture quality issues) they don`t shrink to fit into the viewer window, you only end up seeing a fraction of them. But when they download and you go back to see them again a second later, they become the right size. It also swiches to the right size when the loop play gets back to the first pic again.
    In the flash element properties I tried the different scale settings, and looked at other settings too but I couldn`t make it work.
    I think making the viewer window as large as the pictures, would look odd. Maybe buying on other slideshow program to insert into dreamweaver would work.
    If you would like to see the site its: tsugagardens.com , than look in the photo gallery and after the pics download go back with the back button and see the difference in the pics.
    Thank you for your efforts,
    Tibor

  • HELP PLEASE - loading external swf scale problem

    I have a Flex 3 Actionscript Project. Basically all it does it take some flash vars, set the sound volume,  and load an external swf using a loader and add the loader as a child. The problem is I want the loaded external swf to be scaled to fill the entire stage, even if it distorts it, and that doesn't seem to be happening.
    I really need to resolve this. ANY HELP APPRECIATED.
    Marcus

    Thanks for the reply!
    Here's basically what my code looks like (note: I cut some stuff out that wasn't relevant for the sake of clarity).
    private var swfLoader:Loader = null;
    public function MySwfContainer()
        stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.EXACT_FIT;
        stage.align = StageAlign.TOP_LEFT;
        var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest(swfUrl);
        swfLoader = new Loader();
        swfLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE,SWFLoader_Complete);
        swfLoader.load(request);
    private function SWFLoader_Complete(event:Event):void
        addChild(swfLoader);
    What I am observing is that if a swf larger than the stage area is loaded it clips it rather than scale it down and make it fit.

  • X-y chart scale problem

    I am using an x-y chart and I allow the user to select auto. scale

    Sometimes, when the scale is changed, one of the scale

    have recently discovered it in a LV built exe also (when the exe

  • Zoom (scale) with a series of Jpegs

    What's the 'best' way to zoom in or out pf a series of jpegs? I have jpegs of one building over a few decades that I will line up in a comp so they are positioned and scaled the same. The sequence will start zoomed in on one feature. Then I want to zoom out gradually over time so that the last image shows the entire building. I thought I could just take that one comp and put it in another comp to scale it, but find it is already cropped to the frame size. This will end up in Premiere, so if it can be done easily there, that just as good!

    This isn't difficult.
    Your main comp is going to be as large as your jpegs and hopefully they're about 3kx4k. If they're smaller, either forget this idea or go back tot he original images and rescan them so they come in at 3kx4k. Note those are pixels and the scanning setting has nothing at all to do with dpi.
    Line up all of your shots using blend settings. Start with your first image and line all of them up to the first image.
    Set your dissolves bt do not move the comp or adjust scaling.
    Bring this comp into your distribution comp whihc is set at 1080 or 720. Scale the main comp to simulate a camera that is zoooming out.
    As an aside, you CAN use jpegs that are about 1500 pixels tall in a 3000 pixel comp if you understand and accept the scaling artifacts. You can apply a one- or two-pixel blur to hide the scaling. Or you can find a Photoshop guru who can do sophisticated rescaling for you.

  • Appraisals - Value list/Rating scales problem

    I assign the rating scale/value list to a template. I face a problem. I have defined a 5 scale rating. Its working fine in R/3 side. But when I go to ESS/MSS, an extra 'Select a Value' comes as default. I do not want this default. Is there any way, I can remove it or change its description. This is coming even if I make the value required.
    Also, I want to change the standard description of the value. So I went to 'Value Description' tab in the template. But it is greyed out. How can I make it open for entry?
