Easy cost planning - cost element

Hi,
while creating an easy cost planning using a cost template, the system proposes a cost element (linked to the activity type). Can we propose by default another cost element ? (using a user exit ?) We tried to do it in the derivation rules for the cost template, but didn 't had any luck..

    I m facing a strange problem in ps.
    I create a structure in project bulider.after that when switch to easy cost palnning ,the top wbs number changes to another number which i dont know from where it is coming.
    This happens only with top wbs ,rest of the numbers are same as i created.
    it is happining in only easy cost planning ,and in rest of the transactions it is fine.
    please suggest ur thoughts

    Hi...
    what about..using item category E :Internal Activity.
    You need to have defined activity types per Person ex T1000 for John W1,  T1001 for Mike W2 etc.
    Also you need to have defined planned rates in KP26 for each one of the activity types.
    This way you can use ECP for each activity type (therefore employee) and use their own rates.

  • Unable to update revenue plan values in Easy Cost Planning

    Hi,
    Business maintains planned costs and revenues on WBS element using Easy Cost Planning tool. But for one of the WBS element system is not allowing to update/add planned revenue line items.User is able to update the planned costs for this WBS element.
    The Legend in Easy Cost Planning screen is Non-Changeable Cost Estimate.
    The status of WBS is REL,ACPT(Order Accepted),NSCH(Not Scheduled - Forecast Dates),RESA(Result Analysis Carried out).
    We have checked all the business process and all the revenue planning is allowed.
    Please guide us on how to resolve this issue.

    This is resolved...Select the WBS and click on CLOSE icon to reset the cost estimate. This allows to plan revenues again.

  • Easy Cost Planning & Project Stock

    Dear Experts,
    I am using Easy cost planning for WBS cost planning and Project definition control data tab page has Valuated Project stock selected.My costing model had an external procurement material for which I generated PR & PO thru Execution services.But the account assignment in my PR & PO was P with the corresponding WBS as account assignment and not Q.
    I have two question regarding this,
    1) Does it mean that while using ECP, Project stock concept will not work?
    2)How can we get the pop up of procurement type options(like Res + PR for WBS element) while generating PR through execution services?

    I tried your scenario is my system.
    whenever i am changing P to Q in Config in SPRO,It is giving an error that "The selected account assignment category is not supported" that means it is not meant for Q but i double click for object type PR WBS Element and changed Acct Assgmt Cat to Q then system allowed me to save.
    The i create a PR and WBSE is coming in the Account Assignement ,then i converted PR to PO and then i recived goods as project stock.when i issued the material in ECP it is not issuing from Project stock because 221 Q is not present in Config for SPRO so it is issuing from Normal stock so special stock from ECP is not supported.
    But you can manually issue the material to the WBSE in MIGO/MB1A by 221 Q.

  • Easy cost Planning & Network Costing

    Dear All
    In one Project can we use both Easy cost Planning & Network Costing. Easy cost planning is generally used when you have structure with WBS only. Network cost planning is a combination of group of activities, all these having their relevant cost elements/ work center combination. can we manage both this in one project. If it possible please explain in detail.

    What is your business requirement ? It depends on that. Yes your understanding is quite correct. We use easy cost planning in the initial phase of project. Easy cost planning can be done in various versions including  0 plan / actaul version.  If you does easy cost planning in 0 along with network costin you will double up lannning cost.
    Network costing can only be done in plan / actual version 0 only.
    Best approach is to use easy cost plnnaing as rough cut level apart from 0 version. And use network costing. However it may very a/c to business requirement.

    Yes, that is the key that determines how a cost estimate is performed and valuated.
    Depending on the object being costed, either the functions of either unit costing or product costing can be used.To calculate the costs of producing a material, you create a product cost estimate with or without a quantity structure
    In a cost estimate with a quantity structure, the costing variant determines the following:
    1. Which dates are valid for the cost estimate itself and for exploding and valuating the quantity
        structure.
    2. How the BOMs and routings are selected to create the quantity structure
    3. Which prices are selected to valuate the quantity structure
    4. How overhead is calculated
    You create a unit cost estimate to cost the following objects:
    1.Materials (cost estimate without quantity structure)
    2.Materials (additive cost estimate)
    3.Production orders in Controlling
    4.Internal orders
    5.WBS elements
    6.Base planning objects
    7.Cost object IDs
    8.Sales documents
    In unit costing, the costing variant determines which prices are selected to valuate the individual costing items and how overhead is calculated.
    Costing variants are also used to calculate costs for Production orders,Networks,Maintenance orders,
    Run schedule headers,Process orders,Sales document items,Appropriation requests,Ad hoc cost estimates.
    A costing variant is linked to the control parameters like Costing type,Valuation variant,
    Date control (in costing with and without quantity structure).

  • Overhead costing sheet in easy cost planning

    Hello,
    I have created a overhead costing sheet (having base as material cost elements where a %age is defined to be applied on the material cost) and attached it to the valuation variant of easy cost planning in PS module.
    Now for a given project when I am checking the easy cost planning, it is showing all individual lines of resources like material etc. along with its qty, price and value but I can not see the effect of the %age specified in overhead costing sheet.
    Kindly suggest what is to be done.
    Also pl. let me know whether I can see the cost component structure of easy cost planning.

    Thanks for your reply.
    But when I run CJ46 for a particular WBS element, it says "The object is not relevant for processing".
    I have created the costingsheet as per the process mentioned below.
    For overhead costing sheet, base is created with raw material cost elements range and origin group range.
    Overhead rate is defined with dependency D020 - Overhead Type/Plant as 1.5% with proper validity period.
    Credity key is defined with secondary cost element with category 41 and cost center and fixed % with default "*".
    The above costing sheet is attached to the valuation variant of easy cost planning in PS module.
    There is a cost component structure 10 which is attached to costing variant PS06.
    Still CJ46 gives message as "The object is not relevant for processing" when I run it for particular WBS element.
    Kindly suggest whether I m missing any other step.

    i have created an investment project structure and attached 2 levels of WBS Elements.
    When i'm executing the " Easy Cost planning" the system is showing the following message.
    " No WBS elements have been created for the Project yet"
    and the details of the error is
    Diagnosis
    You have not yet maintained any WBS elements for the project. You can onjly maintain costings for WBS elements.
    System Response
    The system cannot create a costing.
    Procedure
    Create WBS elements for the project.
    Pl give me the solution

  • Planning on WBS elements without cost elements

    Hi all,
    we are trying to implement the planning solution where users will be able to plan on individual WBS elements monthly but without providing a breakdown on cost elements. Standard SAP planning profiles allow to post plan values on WBS elements in annual view without cost elements. But when you want a monthly view the system you need to click on primary cost elements planning first.
    Is there any way to plan monthly but at cost object (WBS) level only?

    Hi Eli,
    thanks for your response. We will be using budget functionality for budget purposes but at the same time we will need to use planning on different versions. I believe there are no versions for budget.
    One of the idea to minimize cost element planning is to introduce like a planning cost element to use with all planning postings and then include this into the same cost element group with the rest of cost elements for plan/actuals comparison reports.
    If you have something in your mind I would appreciate your input.

    1. Can easy cost plan can be saved in versions ?
    2. In CJ30 planned cost I can view in annual view but it doesn't get Summed up at Header level WBS ?
    3.After releasing the WBS easy cost plan can be changed How to restrict that ?

    You can see the ECP of simulation using CJ20N, or CJ9ECP.
    The multiple ecp (MECP) is applied using SAP extenstion, after release 2.0. If you can check the system status of your system, you can find out, if the EA_APPL (at least 2.0 release) is applied your system or not. IF yes, you can find the corresponding customizing to active the MECP.
    If MECP is active, you can then determine in which version should be ECP maintained. You get an additional POP UP screen to let you select the CO version, as you lauch to the ECP in CJ20N or CJ9ECP.

  • Error while uploading cost element planning data into KP06 transaction

    Hi,
    I am facing the below error while uploading the Cost Element Planning excel file in KP06 transaction code. Please help me in fix this issue.
    We are trying to enter a budget upload using Transaction code: KP06. We get the following message errors  when we do this. It seems revenue accounts cannot be entered using cost centers. Question, how should these accounts be added? Kindly help me how to add Revenue cost elements to this planning?

    Revenue element 451000 can not be planned on cost center 9720

  • Cost Element missing in FAGLFLEXT for some PCA Plan records

    Hi Gurus,
    We have uploaded a PCA plan and can see the same in GP12NA. I see the planned values (GLPL) in FAGLFLEXT from SE16 under the correct accounts for 0L ledger for the correct company code and the fiscal year. I noticed a difference in the data
    1) For the revenue elements (11 and 12 Categories) the 'cost element' field is not getting populated in FAGLFLEXT. ('Account' is populated.) Is it expected?
    2) We have a Z library report that was built on FAGLFLEXT. The report uses the cost element groups to pull in the data and hence the 'Actual Values' are pulled in the report but the 'Plan Values' are missing. (Because of point1)
    Any pointers on how to fix this?Could you please suggest the places i would need to look to fix this?
    (I've checked that the plan vesion is activated for 2011)
    (The report has version Z2 as one of its parameters.)

    Waman: I've looked up the Note 983835 - NewGL planning: Cost element field (COST_ELEM) initial.
    This note talks about the Cost element not getting populated during planning. My question / confusion is in my case, the cost element is getting populated for some of them and not getting populated only for cost elem category 11 and 12.
    Is this note intended for this issue?
    Ajay: I've tried re-planning and still found the same issue. Thanks for your inputs. I'll analyse about the Note that waman has referred to and then may be go to SAP as suggested by you.
    Please let me know if any of you have any other suggestions as well.

    Hi all gurus,
    I would like to use in a custom report a BAPI/Function Module that help me to simulate KPF6 in order to post planning costs for internal order and cost element (layout 1-401).
    So the input should be:
    1) Version
    2) period from
    3) periodo to
    4) year
    5) internal order n.
    6) cost element n.
    7) value
    I found a lot of BAPI but don't know the correct one and how to use it (example how to fill the input value).
    Can anyone help me on that?

    I would like to introduce the cost model easy planing a calculated field (characteristic), which was the multiplication of two fields (Characteristics).
    I have entered into the transaction CKCM "Easy Cost Planning: Model", I created 3 Characteristics (A,B,C)through the option
    "Assign Characteristics to the model."
    I entered the "Define the derivation rules (template)" and created a calculation with the two characteristics( C = A * B). The problem I have is that I did not enter the calculation in characteristic 3, which is what I want to pick up the value.
