ECM- Budgeting issue

Hi,
We started using ECM functionality last year. During this time, for Budgeting, I configured basic PCP, created budget structure based on Org Structure and loaded budget from PCP>
Disadvantage of this method is that if a manager has direct reports in different org units then that manager see multiple Budgets. Company this year wants to have a single budget line for each manager which will be 2% of salaries of all direct reports and while assigning merit to employees Budget should come from that pool (even if employees are in different Org unit).
Please advice how to acheive this. Thanks!

Your solution lies in SAP Enhancement Package 5 in which two types of budgeting are available: top-down and bottom-up. Bottom-up is what you should be looking at.

  • ECM budget using PCP

    We are implementing ECM budgeting using Personnel Cost Planning Tools. We did the PCP minimal configuration, ran the PCP data collection to populate IT666, the budget for all cost items are there. Then, Cost plans were created for the organization units. However; Cost Plans run did not work for Stock. There were no error, but with warning. The report (cost items per cost object) did not have number populated. Do you know why?
    I noticed that the currency is requested as an input when execute the Planning Run although it is for Stock.
    And how is the number calculated in each quarter columns.
    The other issue I’m having is I got the error for each employee: does not have a budget for date xxxxx. The dates are the dates in IT666. What is the system looking for?

    I am trying to create a budget in ECM. When trying to Save the created budget i am getting the followin error.

    First of all the sicf transaction is to be used only if you use the internal ITS.
    Now you have to put an external breakpoint in the source code of the ABAP Program or FM you want to debug , one of these in your case :

  • WBS rearrangement and budget issues

    We have implemented PS in our system
    for the last 6 years. We use mainly
    WBSs and PMorders attached to them. We
    tried to use IM in the past but we
    were not very mature for it. We have
    now many projects in the system with
    multiple roots, due to a system design
    in the past. We want to convert them
    to one root projects and activate the
    necessary customizing in project
    profile. We are planning now to
    activate budgeting and availability
    control, and this has created the need
    for one root per project
    Are there any issues with actual
    costs, commitments and availability
    control? Is it safe to rearrange WBSs
    after actual postings have been made,
    commitments have been created but no
    budget has been set? Are there any side effects in reporting?
    We are also wondering if there are any
    conflicts regarding reactivating IM at
    a later stage, after using PS
    budgeting for a while. I suppose we do
    not have any issues, because many
    companies have started useing PS
    budgeting and then implemented IM. Is
    this correct?

    Hello Vasilios Iliadis,
    Dont change the existing projects. you will end up in many many problems. Once budget is assigned to WBS, you cannot change the structure.
    My suggestion is , Going forward from a particular date, all new projects will be created with new structure. New budget from IM, etcc...
    This will make your life easy.

  • Budget issue while creating PO in SRM

    Hello All,
    We are using SRM_SERVER 5.5 SP level 11. We have extended classic scenario.
    Whenever we create PO assigned to account assignment category ORDER where ORDER is assigned with some fixed budget in R/3, we are able to create PO. But no budget details appears in PO. Budget tab in PO shows "No Budget Information Exists". BUDGET_CHECK_BADI is also deactivated.
    Why this message is displayed instead of Budget details?
    Is there any configuration required to be done for displaying budget details? What might be the issue? Please help.

  • KO22 internal order budget issue

    Hello All,
    while making changes for internal order budget with transaction code KO22 the system shows a error as u201CItem order xxxxxx budget exceededu201D & for some orders u2018Item order xxxxxx budget almost exhaustedu201D & also referring to a budget for year 2006,2007,2008 . & The system doesn't accept those changes .
    Another strange thing is that  the system allows the same changes for few items  (maybe 4, 5, or six that time it will get saved that time it will not give error) ,
    but trying to do  10-15 changes , the system shows the warning message as stated above
    If anyone has encountered this strange issue please share your inputs

    When making changes to budget then make sure you are increasing it not decreasing....
    When you decrease the budget then system will check tolerance defined............and display warning or error....
    For e.g in tolerance you have defined that system should display warning at 95% absorption of budget and Error at 100%.
    You have set budget 10000 INR for the Internal Order. So it means at 9500 INR system will issue warning and at 10000 INR or more system will give error.
    If posted amount to order is 9000 INR so you can noway reduce budget less than 9000 INR because it is 100% and system will give error.

    I have configured the budget type and created a budget structure for an organizational structure.  Also, I have added sample budget values for each organizational unit and released the budget.  For some reason, when I got into MSS compensation planning for the merit compensation plan, the system tells me that no budget data exists.  Any idea what may cause this issue?

    This issue is resolved.  The budget was not showing because the employees were ineligible.  The budget showed up for eligible employees.

  • ECM Budget

    Hi,
    I'm implementing ECM module but I've some problem to manage budget functionalities. Customer need to manage compensation budget only on first level of organizational unit without distribute in detail budget for each organizational unit. I've done some test but if you assign budget only to main organizational unit subordinated one are not included in budget management. I've tried also to leave empty the flag "'Allocatable' Flag" in table V_T7PM3_B for budget type, but in this way budget became "invisible".
    Any suggestion to managed budget in a centralized way?

  • Carried-foward PO; budget issue

    Hi Experts,
    We have successfully carry forward one PO along with its budget and while checking the same in FMIOI table it is showing that system has successfully carried forward it in 2015 i.e. status 31.
    Now when am trying to delete this PO system is giving budget error.
    Logically system should release the budget but instead system is asking for budget.
    No other activity has been carried out in that budget address and PR & PO valuation is same.
    Please suggest

         When we raise PO with ref ro PR.
    a)     When the PO value is more than the PR, How the budget  check happen(back ground behaviour of the system)
    b)     When PO value is less than the PR, (After generating the Service Entry Sheet-PO short closed) Ex: PR value 100, PO closed for 80(after Service entry sheet for 80). Will the commitment budget restores to the available budget?
    c)     Budget Availability check during Goods Issue is possible or not? Any SAP Note applicable here

    a) the difference is checked against the original budget address
    b) no, only if you close/reduce the PR
    c) yes, it's possible. You have to switch the FM update for GR (OFUP)

  • Internal Order Budget Issue

    Hello,
    I have one of the scenerio related to Internal order
    My Budget is planned in KO22 as follows.
    2012   1000 INR
    2013   1500 INR
    I created PR of Rs 1300 with delivery date as 15.01.2013. Hence after Pr creation the commitment will go and seat in year 2013.
    But if i did GR against same PR/PO in year 2012 then system should give error as per configeration that budget amount for 2012 is exceede.
    But instead of this i am able to do GR and avaiable amount in report shows negative amount.
    I have done all config related to this, and working fine for all other nornal scenerios. So is anyone have faced this problem. so please provide some solution for this.

    As per standard system design goods receipts and service entries
    are not subject to availability control checks - see note 46209.
    You can overcome this restriction, however, by means of a user exit
    as described in note 696362.

  • Creat ECM budget structure from current org structure

    Hi all ,
    When we are creating budget heirarchy using "PECM_GENERATE_BUDGET", we want to create it from org structure that is effective on a particular date and not for all org assignments.
    For example :
    For budget effective 01/01/2011 to 12/31/2011.  We may want to create Budget structure from org structure that effective 12/31/2011.
    ( The standard transactcion "PECM_GENERATE_BUDGET" creats structures for all the effective dates )
    Let's say, I have Org units Org1 and Org2 at the same level. Org3 reports to Org1 from 01/01/2011 to 11/20/2011. But effective 12/01/2011, Org 3 reports to Org 2.
    01/01/2011 to 11/30/2011 ->  Org3 reports to Org1
    12/01/2011 to 12/31/9999 ->  Org3 reports to Org2
    When I run ""PECM_GENERATE_BUDGET"" this generates a budget heirarchy, that shows Org3 reporting to both O1 and O2,
    whereas we want Org3 to be just shown in the hierarchy of Org2 ( effective 12/31/2011).
    I see that the FM  "'HR_ECM_GET_OBJECT_STRUCTURE" and "HR_ECM_BUILD_BUDGET_STRUC" generate budget structure, by taking the begin and end date of budget period( 01/01/2011 to 12/31/ 2011) into account  to create the org structure.  But we just want the latest structure effective on a particular date.
    Has any faced this kind of scenario/requirement as this seems to be the standard budget creation functionality.

    Hi - When you are creating budget sturcture based on org. unit the system will create budget structure on the basis of defined budget period
    Pls. try delimiting 01/01/2011 to 11/30/2011 -> Org3 reports to Org1 relationship and create budget structure. I feel you should be fine then.
    which EHP are you in? If you are using EHP 5 its give option to generate top down or bottom up budget structure.

  • Budget Issue

    Dear All,
    I have created a project which spans for two years (from 2010 to 2011) and budgets are been allocated for both the years. 1st Phase (1st WBS Element) of the Project will be completed during 2010. Goods for 2nd phase (2nd WBS Element) were planned for 2011 and it has been triggered for procurement through MRP and PO is been sent to Vendor (commitments appear in 2011). However due to urgency goods has been received in this month ( Dec 2010), and a GRN is raised. Due to this reason the commitment value for 2011 is been shown as Actual in 2010, though we have not allocate a 2010-budget for 2nd WBS Element (shows a negative available balance). Budget Availability for Project is active.
    Want to know the valid reason for this and a way to stop the sameu2026..

    Budget check will not happen during GR, this is std SAP, that is why the budget check didnt happen when you receive goods for 2011 PO in 2010, because budget check happened when you create the PO.
    If you want budgetary control for receipt of goods for 2011 PO in 2010 then apply this note 696362
