EhP4 Flexible Appraisal template HTML errors

We are reviewing the new Web Dynpro Flexible Appriasal interface in EhP4. When we create a new appraisal from our current appraisal template, the html tags for each criteria (Description - Web Layout) are displayed along with the text on the new WD UI. There is also an error message under each criteria description. If we remove the html and just use the standard Description, the form displays correctly.
Is there a way/setting to make the WD UI in EhP4 display html?

I found that it supports XHTML, refer to

for the tags supported though it is not as rich as HTML.
Also, please implement SAP Note 1354044 if you are not in NW7.01 SP5.

Hi gurus,
Do we have any solution to add Expand and collapse feature for notes in the flexible appraisal template on the portal. Meaning if the user enters a long note in the Notes feild the expand feature should give a bigger view of the notes feild...
Please refer to the screenshot below we have the notes feilds which have the scroll feature but cannot be expanded.

Flexible Appraisal template screen changes

Hi There,
We are using Standard Flexible appraisal template based appraisal Solution EHP4. Now we have created a template to cater multi level details for each Objective.
Structure looks like
Objetive 1 Add/Delete
   Objective details 1.1    Add/Delete
         Objective details 1.1.1    Add/Delete
               Objective details 1.1.1.1    Add/Delete
Objetive 2 Add/Delete
   Objective details 2.1    Add/Delete
         Objective details 2.1.1    Add/Delete
               Objective details 2.1.1.1    Add/Delete
For each of this level we will be able to create multiple entry.. i.e it can have
1.2.1
2.3.1.2 entries as well
Now we want to group these entries in group/so that we can enable one collapse/expand option for one objective and all its related components. I mean, we should be able to have a header_tray for objective 1 and ojective 2.. and so on.. so that when we close/open all objectives related to Objective 1, are open or collapse from single header tray.
I know we can use pre exit of wdmodify method for view VW_BODY_VIEW , but i am unable to conceptualize how do we create this group dynamically specially when each row is rendered one by one. and apart from numbering there is no other binding to structure related rows.

Will check on the first 2 solutions that you have given.
Regarding the third one, client requirment is that Criterion groups should come in tabs and the elements like objectives, KPI etc should come columnwise.The notes feild should be below the Goal etc.
have a glimpse of the UI that we are preferring to have. this is EHP6 Flexible appraisal template and we are trying to get a better look for our flexible appraisal template which is on EHP4.

EHP4 flexible appraisal - How to use one coloum mutiple times

Dear PMS gurus,
I have a requirement as follows
Is there a possibility to use a column many times in a criterion group or criteria. Like,
There are five objectives created in a criterion group and all the fine objectives have to evaluated as
1. Target to be achieved
2. Actual target achieved
For every target we need to have these columns. Is there a possibility we can do that in the standard.
Also is there a possibility we can have the coloums in horizontal manner instead of the current vertical way the standard gives

Yes in a flexible appraisal template you can use a column more than once in a criterion group or criterion.
With regards to layout of Columns , no you cannot have it vertical instead of horizontal (unless you enhance the webdynpro) . If you wish to have it vertical , you can change the layout in the offline download of form which means the users will always have to work in the offline download mode and upload the appraisal doc. Also you need to check if the ADOBE user licenses allows you to change the offline ADOBE form as it needs ADOBE designer .

Performance Management EHP4 Flexible Appraisal Process

We are in the process of building Performance Management using Enhancement Package 4 in ECC 6.0 in our test system. We have activiated flexible appraisal process and have completed the necessary config for ESS and MSS and appraisal template.
The MSS user can create the appraisal and define the objectives etc. The ESS user can view the appraisal but cannot add comments. On checking the appraisal template we have created a criteria for employee comments and an element called additional comments the tab 'element access' has been marked against the employee as follows:
Participant = Employee
Plan:Access = Change
Review Access = Change
Completed = Display
So we do not know why the ESS user cannot add comments.
Can anyone help on this issue?

Many thanks for this - we have checked the template level and have the column access for column 'objectives' (which is what is used at element level for appraisee comments) and if we change the column owner to 'appriaser and appraisee' it works for the appraisee but not for the appraiser. So we have a choice either it is set to appraiser and it works fine for the manager or we change it to appraisee and appraiser and it works fine for the ESS user.
Perhaps there is something else we need to check?

HCM Flexible appraisal template how to read value from a dropdown selection

We are on EHP5 based HCM system.
We are trying to read a drop down value populated in appraisal document. This drop down value is coming from a scale type. Now when i check webdynro application HAP_DOCUMENT_BODY , method BUILD_DOCUMENT_BODY seems to be building the UI and populating all the values. Now I am trying to put a break point and capture instance of this drop down and then based on selected value of the drop down wanted to populate another field attached to same column. Well that will be number two but yeah first thing first, need to find how i can capture drop down instance.

Appraisal template error - A maximum of 18 columns are allowed

Dear Friends We are implementing flexible PMS solution on EHP4 platform. We have defined many customer specific columns. Now, we want to add more than 18 columns in our appraisal template but system is showing error if we try to include more than 18 columns. We have already tried to rationalise element (VB-VC) structure to reduce no of columns but still we need to have more than 18 columns in our template. Does SAP provides any BADI or NOTE to resolve this issue. Or whether we can tackle this issue at a technical solution level. Pl. advise.

You can customize this in the CATS IMG data entry profiles - it could be the data entry profile
includes more than 65 columns
Unfortunately due to performance reasons 40 is the maxium number of columns allowed
- a modification would likely be required to allow more - you would also need to test performance and
load (whether the WD application could pass all the columns or values)

OSA - ERROR while downloading \ uploading appraisal template

May be some of you came across the same problem: when appraisal template using object Q as reference object for VB or VC is being uploading into the other client it is copied with error. The relationship 607 between objects is not ceated in the other client, so the object is not correct. Is it a standard solution

I am inclined to think that lack of relationship 607 between objects VB and Q while uploading appraisal template into other client is due to a programm error but we failed to find relativa SAP Note, may be someone came across the problem?

Appraisal Template error

Hi Gurus,
Can somebody tell me how to update the Appraisal Template which is in 'use' in HR Professional V4.0 Responsibility.
I need to include questionaire template to used template.. whenever i update the template it's gives me an error
'You may not update a template which is currently is use."

Hi Juan,
Flexible Appraisal Porcess- As the name suggest you have the flexibilty to design your apparisal templates using the functionalities provided by SAP.
For eample: Using transaction PHAP_Catalog_PA or OOAM, you can design your apparsail template.
Predefined Appraisal Template: Again as the name suggest, SAP has pre-designed the strucure for defining the appraisal template. After clicking on the tab for Predefined appraisal process in IMG node, you will follow the number of screens in sequece.

No process defined for form appraisal template

when in IMG path "define tabs and process configuration for template", on the "process configuration tab", I enter data and click Save. I now get the warning message "No process defined for form ..." as a consequence I cannot perform my configuration. the process is not showing up. and no phases/steps can be assigned to the process for configuration.

Moving Appraisal Template to QA

Hi Guys
I understand that we can move Appraisal Template by download/upload method or by right clicking on the Appraisal Template to create transport and move this transport to QA and so on.
For Category group and category, we can do manual configurations in each system or use OOHAP_CATEGORY Tcode and create transport by selecting Transport option in the menu bar.
For basic settings we can use the regular transport.
I followed download and upload to transport Appraisal Template, works fine.
For Category group and category, I did manual configurations in each system, works fine.
For basic settings I used the regular/customizing transport, work fine too.
Before using download/upload method, I tried using transport method to move Appraisal Template by right clicking on it, transport request box came up and I created transport and have Basis move it to QA. Basis came back transport failure message due to the following error code:
No activation of relationship to object VH 60000200 in pl. version 60000200 (cl.100)
Errors occurred during post handling RH_ACTIVATE_PDOBJECT_AFTER_IMP for PDST_LSO T
The errors affect the following components
BC-BMT-OM (Organizational Management)
Using Transport method for Appraisal Template should have been the best in my case because we have a custom print program and custom table created to map the sections of appraisal template required for printing. By download/upload method the Appraisal Template VA/VB/VC Ids changed so I had to go back to this custom table for each system to map these changes. Since this method failed for me, I had to use download/upload approach.
Did anyone come across similar challenges? Please share.
Is this the reason download/upload method is suggested?

The template settings that are new to EHP4, cannot yet be transported in an automatic way. The process is stored in 'VH' objects.
In order to transport the whole template with all EHP4 settings, you need to do the following steps:
1) Transport the core template using 'PHAP_CATALOG'.
2) Transport the process configuration using report 'RHMOVE30' (see attachment 'transport VH.doc').
3) Transport the tab configuration using note '1428054'.
If you have any other issue with tranpsorting PD objects please refer to note 1475428 Transport appraisal Basic settings

Appraisal template standard buttons not working via ESS/MSS

Hi experts,
The error which I am facing in appraisal template is as follows
When I click on any button on appraisal template no action takes place.
Kindly let me know how can I resolve this error.
we are using BSP application HAP_DOCUMENT.
according to me page fragment 'document_buttons.htm' (Method CONVERT_BUTTON_TO_UI) contains the code for button creation and button handling
the page fragment 'document_buttons.htm' is getting triggered when page is initialized but it is not triggering when button is clicked.
Additional info that might be useful to resolve the issue:
1) While viewing appraisal template's web layout in t-code PHAP_CATALOG_PA.
I am facing following script error.
This error reappears when I click on any standard button For eg SAVE
2) We are currently using IE 8
3) We recently upgraded ECC system from ECC 6.0 to ECC 6.0 / EHP 6 (ECC 6.6)
4) I checked SICF and corresponding services are active

Design2008 service is inactive in my system.when activated temporarily I was not able to see previous page (Blank page was displayed) in my appraisal application.
For BSP application HAP_document, i checked SICF->default host->SAP->BC->BSP->SAP->HAP_document.This service is active.
The image which I have attached with my question is appraisal template's web layout in t-code PHAP_CATALOG_PA.

Problem in getting appraisal template

Hi All,
I am facing a problem in template configuration.
The appraisal template created in PHAP_CATALOG_PA is released but it is not getting created when i use transaction APPCREATE.It gives an error saying "NO APPRAISAL MODEL DEFINED IN THE SYSTEM.
I checked in spro but couldn't get any breakthrough.
So please suggest me the steps which i need to carry out in configuration.
