Eligible Employment Discount

I just recently retired from the Texas Department of Transportation and am now a member of the Employee Retirement System of Texas.  Can I still get the discount that i was receiving as an employee of Texas Department of Transportation?

Depends on the contract that TX Dept of Transportation has with Verizon; what I'm seeing on this forum is that most contracts do not extend to retirees, unfortunately.  You'll be able to check when Verizon asks you to confirm your employment (e-mails/texts are sent out periodically).

  • Don't believe the employment discount

I just renewed a contract with Verizon and was informed by 'Ahley' via online chat  my employment discount would be 25% and would have to be activated after I received my device.  I have it in writing!  I chose Verizon over AT&T based on this information but when I went to employment verification and entered the information, I was informed it was only 15%!?!?  When I called customer service, I was told "oops, that information was wrong.  Our max discount is only 22% and yours should only be 15%."  What a joke- telling customers one thing to get them to sign up and THEN changing the information is a deplorable business practice.  BEWARE

If you have an work email address that indicates your job with an qualifying organization (for instance, a school district or public agency) the discount is applied immediately when you submit and confirm your email address via http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/support/employee-discount-email  If the specific email address is not recognized as being eligible for a discount, then you  need to submit documentation and it does take one or two billing cycles to be applied.  My son's discount was evident on his second bill; he does not have a work email and had to submit a current pay stub, and the discount was applied from his second bill onward.

  • Employment discount.. I think not!

Where can I find the written policy where it says I cannot have my employment discount if I have a discount from a high plan in more everything? I'm sick of the misinformation from customer care reps 5 said I could use both discounts 2 said I couldn't . Weeks later and hours on the phone I'm being told out of contract I can't use the discount.... Where's the policy on my end that I can read that, the employment verification department said the denied my discount but cannot send me the policy where I'm in violation. This is the hardest time I've Had with a cell phone company.

lewisr13 is correct, the Edge discount of $10/$25 is available even with employer discounts. The month-to-month discount of equivalent value is also available even with employer discounts.
I know exactly what policies pertain to my situation.
If you are attempting to add an Edge discount and are not currently on an Edge plan, you will not be able to do so.
If you want to add a month-to-month discount to a smartphone line access fee to an eligible line, you can do so simply by logging into your MyVerizon, navigating to "Change Features" and selecting that feature to add. Of course, Verizon can change its policies at any time and you could lose your month-to-month discount at any time. Additionally, once you get the discount, it does not necessarily go on for ever. Your eligibility for the discount can change. If you were to purchase a subsidized phone, your discount would fall off immediately.
The month-to-month discount is not advertised, nor will many Verizon reps either acknowledge or are aware of it.

  • Employment discount program

I was notified in October that I needed to update my information for my employment. I sent everything requested in to them but after 3 months the discount was still not applied. I contacted Verizon in January and was told that I did what I was supposed to and the error was on their end. I was told to resend my verification information, so I did. I was also refunded the discount from October to January. I received my bill yesterday and the discount is again missing. I contacted Verizon this morning and was told they would send my info back over for review and to please hold while they got ahold of someone about the discount on my new bill. I was on hold for over 20 minutes! I hung up and called again. I know by this time I am very frustrated with this whole process but when I talked to the manager on the floor, he was not very helpful at all. Just said that I would have to wait 7-10 business days and see if it went through again. I mean, I did everything I was told to do twice and you mean to tell me there isn't anything that can be done and nobody can tell me why. Seriously considering transferring my phone to another service because this is just not right. I know Verizon doesn't need my money every month but to treat me like it is my fault for the past 6 months is wrong.

    Jonathan,
I sent everything that was required of me last October when I got the notice that verification was required. I also resent what was asked of me in January when I inquired about the discount not being applied to my account.
This information was received by the Employment Discount department. There is record of everything I sent being received there at Verizon. Nobody can tell me why this is not being applied to  my account.
The floor manager was not helpful in answering any of my questions yesterday. He was actually rude to me at some points ignoring the frustration I had with the whole process at the time.
The error in the process is at the Verizon level. I don’t know which department is responsible for this program but someone messed up not once but twice on my account and I was made to feel like
I was in the wrong. I am serious about switching carriers after the way I was treated. I still do NOT have the discount because nobody will do anything to expedite the process or give me information to resolve this problem.

  • What does "Eligible for Discount on 10/24/2012" mean?

Our contract is not up until the beginning of 2013, but my husbands phone has completely died so he is using an old one from years ago.
If we're eligible for a discount on 10/24/12, does that mean we can upgrade for the 2 year contract price on phones (and renew the contract)?  Or is it a different type of pricing?  A certain amount off????

Yes, you can upgrade at the 2yr contract discounted price by renewing your contract on that line. Each line has its own contract. If you do not upgrade your phone, the contract for that line will not change.
Keep in mind, there is a $30 upgrade fee you will be charged in addition to the price of the phone. You will also lose your unlimited data, if you have it, by upgrading at the discounted price.

  • Employment discount pending for SEVEN WEEKS !

I sent in two employment paystubs since August 12 and still am waiting for a yes or no answer. I emailed the "helpline" twice and was promised a reply within three business days over a week ago.    Verizon must be part of the government shutdown and have help as brilliant as our people in DC.
    UNACCEPTABLE "customer service"  !

yes - was talking w/ cs today about another issue and asked about this employer discount issue. She transferred me to a recorded message telling me to go online for more information to submit my paystub.   It's just a joke with verizon anymore.
The online chat people are COMPLETELY USELESS -- all they do is tell me to call the same number you referred me to and emails are 100% ignored. "you will receive a reply in 3 -5 days". ..and 2 weeks later --NOTHING.
and the verizon employees in the stores are only there for the sale -- if they don't ring up a sale --they don't care about you at all !
This all started when I walked in to a verizon store in neligh, nebraska to ask how I could apply for the employer discount -- reply was "" I can't help you with that"   .  what she should of said was the truth " I won't be making a dime from helping you with 2 minutes of my time so get out of my store "

  • What does it mean when it says "eligible for discount"?

I'm trying to figure out what type of discount my phone is eligible for but there is no link to it. Only links for "upgrades". How and where can I find out the information on the eligible discounts? Anybody? Pretty please?

Verizon lower than manufacturer price, mail-in rebate (or instant when purchase on line), all of these mean ‘eligible discounts’.
There was also a discount called:  “new every two”, loyalty discount. When the 2-years contract expired and you were upgrading your phone, you were entitled to extra $50.00 discount. I am probably one of the last customers who got this type of discount.
Upgrading my phone last week I got my extra $50.00, but I was also told that they are removing from my profile the “new every two”. When I asked why – I was told that Verizon discontinued this offer. How nice!!!
My contract expired two years ago (last signed in 2008). Purchasing the phone with 2-years contract I received $50.00 discount (manufacturer mail-in rebate, which is instantly when purchasing on Verizon.com) and I received an additional $50.00 for the program “new every two”.
Verizon is removing ‘goodies’ and adding additional fees.
Example: The $30.00 ‘Upgrade Fee’, which you must pay upgrading your basic phone. I call this: ‘rip-off fee’. Added to the contracts in April 2012.
If you want to know your eligibility, click on upgrade, select a plan, etc and at the end you will see the amounts.  You don’t have to order to see this. Just close the page.

  • Employment discount disappointment

I work for the State of NC and the discount went down and it did not apply to the data plan.  Only the access plan.  Very disappointing!

The state of NC must not have as many phones on the account as they used to.

  • Employment discount

I sent in copies of my W-2 over a week ago and you have cancelled my 15% discount. I work for the City of Cleveland, Ohio on the Fire Department. Is there still a discount applicable here?

  • Am I eligible for discount?

I had an Adobe Creative Cloud Plan. Now I would like to get another plan. I would like to know if I am considered as a new customer or as a old customer to get the discount on  the plan (36$/month instead of 60$).

    Hello,
Can you expand more on why you want another plan? Are you looking to expand to more than two computers in which case you may be interested in the Creative Cloud for teams plan? Here is the link for that. Creative Cloud pricing and membership plans | Adobe Creative Cloud
Let us know if that helps.

  • Upgrading from CS5 to CC: is Educational version eligible for discounted Cloud promotion?

I purchased CS5 Design Standard/Educational in 2010 for my PC. I recently bought a new computer switching from a PC back to a Mac, CS5 was on my PC. I am now looking to purchase CC as it seems to be the only real option, but I can't seem to get a straight answer. I spoke with someone in customer service yesterday, after waiting 2 hours for a call back, who assured me that I was absolutely eligible for the 'Special for CS Customer' price of $359.99, but when I went in today to purchase it, the site told me that my serial number was not eligible. Has anyone else done an upgrade like this? I should have purchased it yesterday when I had an actual human on the phone... UGH!!!

I sympathize. I don't work for Adobe so I cannot comment on what you've been told by Adobe Customer Service.
I do know that Adobe is very good at marketing their products breathlessly to novices and newcomers.
Conversely, they are very poor (or choose to be) at explaining the exceptions, loopholes and ineligibilities in their offers. The fine print is usually tucked away very carefully - completely hidden from view of reasonable people searching their website. These practices needlessly earn them a poor reputation amongst those who, eventually, may find they are ineligible for such offers.

  • Accounting for discounts given at the order entry level

    Hi,
I'm Anil Wadhwa and I'm working for Amtrex Hitachi Appliances Ltd., Ahmedabad, India. we have implemented Oracle applications 11i and I'm part of the Order to Cash cycle specifically handling the OM Module.
Initially I had the problem of using the discount feature available in Oracle Advanced Pricing and now I have got the solution for the problem. The problem I was trying to explore a feature whereby I was setting up a qualifier where I'm defining the Customer Class as 'DLR' which would be eligible for discount say @10%.
I subsequently set up a modifier where I defined a modifier type discount @10% and attached it with predefined qualifier at both the header and line level.
When I was trying the order entry the price which was defaulting from the attached price list was not getting reduced by 10%.
Now this problem has been solved by giving a request from the 'Oracle Pricing Manager' called as Build Sourcing Rule.
Now I want to know is there any way of accounting the discount given.
Say my list price is 100 and i have given a discount of 10% and my selling price becomes 90.
    Then
    Debit Credit
    Customer 90 Sales account 100
    Discount 10
How should I do the setup for discount and make sure that when the modifier gets applied whatever is the discount goes into the appropriate accounting setup.
I will be obliged if somebody can guide me on this issue.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Anil Wadhwa

  • On time Payment - Customer Discount

    Hi All,
We are generating the invoice and sending it to the customer.
Now we expect the customer to pay for it.
We have a policy in our company, like if the customer pays on time or before a cut off date then the customer is eligible for discounts.
That is, during posting of payments, the customer will be given cash discount.
How do we map this process in SAP.
    Regards

    Hi,
In payment terms mention the discount that you want to give and period in days within which this discount to be given.
In F-28, enter the required data like document date and posting date and system will show you the list of invoices valid till that posting date for that particular customer along with discount in % and in amount based on the payment terms that you have assigned in Sales order
    Hope you understood now
    regards,
    Sagar

  • Update discount base in AR open Items

    Hi,
I have many legacy converted open item sitting in our production system where payment terms are saying they are eligible for discount but discount base value is blank. When I am going to FB02 the discount base field is display only. Is there any way to update discount base value in these open items so that it can be cleared correctly.
    Thanks,
    Gagan

    Hi
You can change the status of the field through SPRO->Financial accounting global settings->document->Rules for change document->Document change rules. You will have to add this field here. You limit the change status by adding the transaction type, company code and account type.
Once done you will have to uplaod the discount base amount through LSMW.
    Then revert the changes done.
    Regards
    Nikhil

  • Employee discount applied to international data

Ok heres my question i know that for international data plans you are charged only 64.99 for unlimited data but are these plans charged in top of the current data plan for smartphones which are 15.00 and 29.00 or its 64.99 for both domestic use and international use? and second if it is charged only 64.99 for both domestic and international does my employee discount still applies to that plan as well?

Not all plans are eligible to receive a discount. The following plans are not eligible for discount:
    Nationwide Unlimited plans,
    Some Mobile Broadband plans,
    Family SharePlan® Secondary lines,
    North America's Choice plans, and
    Month-to-month agreements.
