Email down

All of a sudden, I can't send or receive email. I tried pinging incoming.verizon.net and it times out. I assume there is a problem somewhere. I'm in the Portland Oregon metro area.  Does anyone know how long this will last?

Sounds like there's a problem with your account. You'll most likely need to actually contact Verizon for help. Options are on their Contact Us page.

  • Why icloud email down?

Why is icloud email down? My wife has been unable to check her email all day. It says affecting 1.1% of users but I know 3 other people who have the same problem.Bizarre? Never seen Apple have this long of an outage on email access. Must be security breach.

Still, this is pretty poor. I've used my apple email account for business and home use since .mac and its generally been more reliable than other services I've tried, but I can't lie, this is a difficultiy for me. I was always happy to pay for a good reliable service, so I'm hoping this isn't a sign of things to come, now that they have moved to a free to use model. Needless to say, I'm not too happy with apple right now...

    Foziakhan,
If you are referring to your Apple ID password, call Apple (1-800-MY-APPLE) and ask to speak to the Account Security Team. They will be able to assist you with resetting your security questions and also the password.
    Hope this helps. Good Luck!

  • Email Preference: shift to next email 'down' instead of 'up' after deleting

Can I change my mailbox behavior to shift to the next email 'down' in my mailbox instead of shifting 'up' after I delete a message?

Depends on the sort order in which you display your messages.

  • Icloud email down since friday

is anyone else having issues with their email? I am getting a password error all of a sudden on all devices (iphone, upad, mba and imac).  I changed my password and can login on to the icloud site so I know thats not the issue.  Started a chat with apple support on Sunday afternoon, who told me there was maintenance happening and that service could be down for 24-48 hours from friday and that service would be back up sunday night.  Guess what..........we are now at end of day monday and service is still down.  Is anyone else having this issue? or is it just me?

I'm been a paying mac.com customer for years.  Nice of them to convert to a free service but 'service' has gone down the tubes.
    Getting right to it:
    - Mail went bye bye on Saturday night
    - Spent 8 hours yesterday researching trying solutions
    - 6:30pm last evening got appt at Genius bar at my local Apple store
    - Full hour there (45 mins of which was on the phone with specialist after specialist)
    - Ultimately, they said it is being escalated to a super-dooper specialist and they will call me today at noon Eastern (umm... an hour ago)  NOTHING
    Would be nice if:
    a) acknowledge that they have a problem; instead it's "we never saw this problem before"
    b) system status was updated and accurate
    c) a way to get back in touch with Apple, no ticket #, no phone number nothing
[the part you can take from this] I've tried everything and CAN get onto iCloud just fine, can view calendary and phonebook just fine (in the iCloud).  The problem is obviously that their Mailserver is offline.
I work in IT and deal with DR situations, scheduling migrations, etc. constantly so understand the difficulties; If it was indeed system maintenance, notice would have been handy; if it was a failure, I would think that the service would be back by now; if this is actually a cloud, they ought to be able to bring the workload up elsewhere.
I will update this with the Apple response once resolved, hopefully it will help others but based on what I've read it will just magically start working at some point in the future.

  • Email down for maintenance?

why can't apple do "routine" maintenance during non-business hours? why can't they give us advance notice? we are, after all, paying for this email - it ain't free.
    iMac G4   Mac OS X (10.3.7)

If no advance notice was provided at the .Mac website, this is probably not "routine" maintenance even though it is being called "routine".
Regardless the ISP or email account provider, server problems can and do occur which usually don't last long.

  • Was email down for awhile on 3-30-09?

    Hi,
I have been having lots of problems recieving email on my BB 8330 since I bought it. Some times it works, sometimes it doesnt. Ive had books sent to me several times, whiped out the whole BB (per Verizon), pulled battery. I think I have done it all.
Now there are sending me a "refurbished" phone to see if this corrects it.
My phone is brand new!, now I have to get a used one just to see if the problem resolves itself.
I wake up this morning, and now Im getting emails again. Was the server having problems yesterday by chance??
Id hate to give up a brand new phone for a used one...no matter how many test it goes thru before they send them out.
My new phone probably went thru the same test too.
Any suggestions?  The phone will be here today

    Solved!

Quite honestly, this is something you should have been told by your carrier, first off.
Normally, devices under 30 days are replaced with a new in the box unit. After 30 days and within a year, you 'may' receive a remanufactured device. You should discuss that with your carrier if it was not clearly outlined, as it is their responsibility.
Nevertheless, we'd be glad to help you, but I think we'll need more detail as to the circumstances of when you don't receive email (have your service books been deleted? have you resent service books? is your device signal indicated as"1XEV" or what?
    oh, and review this:
    http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/My_Email_Stopped_Arriving
Good luck, post back if you need help with the device, glad to assist.
For warranty complaints regrarding your carrier, you will be most effective voicing that to them.

  • Help, email down! - "Your Yahoo! Mail account has ...

    Hi all
For some reason I can no longer use BT Yahoo email servers or services. I hope someone can help.
I have been a BT Infinity customer for about 6 months without issue. Tonight my email stopped working. The only change I made today is opting back in to BT FON WiFi Community using the portal on the Home Hub. This could be a red herring but no other account, router or service changes have been made.
    1. If Outlook attempts to connect I get a username or password error. Emails stick in the Outbox.
    2. If I send from another account to my btinternet address I get an NDR from a bt.mail.ird.yahoo.com mail server:
Sorry your message to <me>@btinternet.com cannot be delivered. This account has been disabled or discontinued [#102].
Despite the send/receive errors in Outlook (see #1), the email is still received.
    3. I can log in to BT Yahoo member page, but if I click on Email:
Your Yahoo! Mail Account is no longer active.
Unfortunately, we cannot reactivate your account because:
Your Yahoo! Mail account has been disabled. Please contact user support.
Any help greatly appreciated. I don't use my btinternet.com address to receive email (I use a catch-all address with a registered domain name to forward to gmail). However I need to use their SMTP servers to send email, which at the moment I'm unable to do.
    Regards, Dave
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Problem is now resolved.
I called BT yesterday on 0800 111 4567 and raised a support ticket. They confirmed the problem wasn't at my end so they raised a (free) support ticket. They said my email account looked ok from their end too, so they'd escalated it to the Yahoo server team. This morning all worked fine again when outbound SMTP email was triggered at 6am.
I don't know what the problem or resolution was but I'm glad to be back up and running. Full credit to BT. I was given a maximum response time of 48 hours from this morning (when Yahoo would pick up the call). I was therefore looking at 3 days of potential downtime. After a bit of a grumble from my end, the duty manager agreed to prioritise the call which he appears to have done successfully.
Thanks to anyone who's read this far! Regards, Dave

  • ICloud email down?

It doesn't matter what I'm on, whether it's my iPhone or my Macbook, my iCloud email WILL NOT WORK. I need it to work as well, because finals are this week and I'm trying to get ahold of my professors about them...REALLY aggervating.

Working for me, also iCloud system status shows everything is working right now: http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/systemstatus/.  Not sure why yours isn't working but you may want to get a free gmail account to use until you can figure it out: https://accounts.google.com/SignUp.

  • Is iCloud email down today?

iCloud seems to be working, but when I try to get email I get a message that says "cannot load email." Anyone know what's up?

    Hello, johnplano.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Looking at the date and time of your post and our system status site, it does look like there was an issue with iCloud mail and has since been corrected.

Mail may have been slow or unavailable. When Mail became available, affected users may have experienced delays with incoming messages.

  • TS3276 ICloud email down?

What's up with ICloud mail?   Has anyone received an answer from Apple?

I'm on Mountain Lion. I've already tried Snow Leopard as well as Lion (my MacBook Pro orginally came with Snow Leopard, upgraded to Lion when it was released.) The problem with iCloud is only the email part. I can access the iCloud website/Find My iPhone/etc. on the website as well as all my devices. The only problem lies with the email. I get the spinning then "Cannot Load Mail" on the iCloud site/Email portion, and on iPhone "Username/Password may be incorrect," but everything is correct.
I've read A LOT of people having the same problem, but theirs seem to get resolved within several days. It's been over 2 weeks for mine.

  • BT email down yet again

7.30 this evening, again no access via webmail or Thunderbird - this is getting ridiculous!

I've been trying to get into emails since 7.15pm with no success.  This is happening day after day now and I started reporting it to BT well over a month ago.  I thought it was to do with migration but I'm told not, but I'm getting pretty sick and tired of it now.  Presumably all those affected will be getting compensation for this constant failure.

  • Verizon Email down???

Looks like VZ is having major email issues right now.  Can't access email via POP or webmail.  Anyone else having problems this morning?

Working just fine for me in North Texas, POP and webmail. Where are you located, perhaps it is a problem only in one area of the country? (and a suggestion, why not update your profile with your location?)

  • TS3276 Email down

Help! I can't receive or send email.

Please carefully read Mail Setup, Troubleshooting etc.. . If your Mail was working OK and isn't now then navigate to Mail - Preferences - Accounts and re-input your settings even though they may look OK. It's possible one or more setting is corrupt. Also I'd recommend re-starting in Safe Mode, this will reset some caches. Again it's possible one or more is corrupt.
