Email report Requirement

Hi ,
I have a requirement to work on Interface, where i need to transfer the data present in Bi Server to the SAP ECC via an XI.
In this scenario, where I have to maintain some historical data, which is to be trigerred even at success or failure to the process Team.
Now this email id is to be maintianed at the selection screen level in Bi .
As I'm New to Bi, i'm not able to trace from which Bi Table should I fetch the Bi mail id field.
Any inputs regarding this would be much helpful.
Thanking U
Rohini.

hi rohini,
frm wht i had understood frm your post,
u can send the mail at the success or failure to the process team, you can use exception reporting where u can define and the mail addresses of whom u need to send can be added in the recepients list in bi level itself.

  • Variables in email reporting or quiz variables in captions for captivate 4?

    Hi,
    Captivate 4, cp4
I have been all around the forums without getting an exact answer to what I want to do. Perhaps there isn't one but, anyway...
I am trying to collect quiz information. I just want a simple collection of data that shows that someone has completed the quiz, which just a set of multiple response statements, and who that someone is. I have started by using Text Entry Boxes (TEB) to collect their name and assigned a variable (v_Name) to this to reuse the information in a certificate. So far so good and this works. I have set up email reporting on the quiz and, providing users actually hit the button and accept both messages, the email gets sent. All I am looking for in the email is that a user has completed the quiz. The score and results do not matter. Now, here comes the issue. I would like to record the user's name (v_Name) in the quiz results that are emailed in. No matter how many reporting options or marks I give the TEB or what options for reporting I select the information will not appear in the emailed report. I can set up a question slide to ask for the name and this will appear in my emailed report but will not appear in my certificate.
    Any ideas?
I have tried to play around with padMail in the resulting HTML to try and draw out the variables but had no luck (I am a JavaScript novice).
Is there a way of emailing a slide view? Or a widget to do this (I have been unable to find one).
LMS is not a solution at the moment and upgrading is unlikely to happen as I am still trying to get all Captivate users in the office up to 4 from 3!
Is it possible to take a quiz answer and use it like a TEB variable and put it into another slide via a caption? E.G., $$Interaction1234$$ or some action script to make v_Name = interaction1234?
I am looking for a simple solution. I have looked into all of the post to database articles and they have been somewhat helpful but I am only trying to capture simple data so as the users can just be ticked off as having completed it.
I am not holding out much hope. It seems quizzing in Captivate is good for self-assessment and to provide branching but the reporting feature is a bit of a failure.
Thanks very much to anyone who just reads this and gets this far!
Even more thanks to anyone who is willing to share ideas.
    Greig

Email reporting has so many potential failure points that (in my opinion) it has to be considered one of those reporting options that you only use as a last resort when nothing else is open to you.  LMS reporting is by far the best way to go, but that's just not an option for many people.  Adobe kindly provided External Server Reporting as an option in Captivate 5, but that also requires access to a server running PHP and at least some technical exoertise.
In your case, the only things I can suggest trying are to make sure your publish folder location has been added to Flash Player Global Security as a trusted location, or to upload your published project files to a web server and test from there.  Sometimes this email reporting issue turns out to be Flash security related.
The email reporting widget is definitely worth a shot and is very inexpensive when you consider how many hours you can spend trying to chase down these issues.
In the end, if you get email reporting to work reliably, consider yourself one of the lucky few.

  • Reporting services emailed reports viewed on iphone

Our Exec team requires the ability to view emailed reports on their iphones.
    Our Environment uses the following:
    Microsoft SQL Server 2008 (SP1) - 10.0.2531.0 (Intel X86)   Mar 29 2009 10:27:29   Copyright (c) 1988-2008 Microsoft Corporation  Standard Edition on Windows NT 5.2 <X86> (Build 3790: Service Pack 2)
Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services Version 10.0.2531.0
Users are part of a subscription that emails a report using the MHTML render format. When an exec tries to open the email, they can only view a small portion of the report.. with no ability to scroll. Apparently this is due to Reporting
Services add the Overflow: auto tag to the style. Any way of working around/fixing this for mobile users?
If the email is forwarded, after it is received, outlook (or some form of magic) strips the formatting and the report is viewable.
That said, this is not a viable option for the exec team.

I'm a database developer / BI guy, I don't know much about DOM and don't know how to create a new rendering extention (not sure I have time for it).  Can you please explain your solution a bit more or at a different level or something?
Is there a simple BI way of solving this without having to export to PDF?  The problem with PDF is that our users only need to look at it on PDF when they are on the iphone because it doesn't display right, otherwise they look at it in Outlook most
    of the time.

  • How to email reports via SMTP server FORMS AND REPORTS 6i and databse 8i

    Dear All,
through reports builder reports are build but i need to email reports via SMTP server is it possible in 6i are not?if yes the how please rep asap

If it will be a scheduled report, you can create a batch file to run report with reqd parameters and generate it's pdf in a oracle directory.
Then schedule the batch file on oracle database pc, (thru task scheduler if OS is windows),
Then a email procedure will be required which will pick up the pdf from oracle directory, attach it and send mail.
Even the email procedure can be scheduled thru oracle job, but the OS batch schedule time and Oracle Job time should be handled as some gap will be needed between the two.
As for the email smtp procedure with attachments, you can find one in this forum or try googling it.

  • How to config. to schedule and email reports

    Hi,
Please help me on these questions:
    1. How to configure the reports server (or 9iAS or something
else) to schedule reports, I also need to email the reports to
customers in pdf and excel format, what should I do to achieve
    this?
    2. I have to re_start report server from 6iserver directory
using reports60_server start (on Soloris 5.8, I use SSH to
access it and I build a tunnel for the prot 7777 to my local
computer) every time I run a report, How can I fix this problem?
    3. my reports require passing parameters in, but I didn't see
anywhere I can do this if I run them from URL, any idea how to
    fix ?
    Thanks very much

I can only answer #3, I am looking for the answer to the 2nd
part of #1. You can pass all Report specific paramters to the
reports server with the URL. ex/
    http://server_name/app_server/server.exe?param1=...&param2=...
etc. the param1 and param2 names and values will be passed along
    to the report itself.

  • Exchange Server Online 2013 Email Reports & Unattended Emails from reciever

    Hello All,
I am very new in exchange server, i there any way to get these following requirements
emails reports - to include info like no. of emails received by a particular user, unattended emails, response time to an email etc?
to check & implement if we can call back an unattended email from receiver's end. For eg. if an email is lying unattended in receiver's inbox for 7 days, same is automatically reverted & the sender is notified along with a copy of that email?
to check & implement if there is any system under which a user cannnot delete any email either incoming or outgoing?
Expecting your valuable suggestion to fulfill above points, thanks in advance
    Mahendra

    Hello,
Hopefully I can answer some of your questions below:
    1.  Email reports, here's a good script that can tell how many emails a user has sent/received in a particular time frame, take a look at this:  http://www.msexchange.org/kbase/ExchangeServerTips/ExchangeServer2010/Powershell/NumberofE-mailsSentandReceivedbyoneUser.html
As far as unattended (I'm assuming you mean unread) emails and response time to emails, there is no automated function that can tell you that.  You would have to search message tracking logs to see when one email is received by a user, and then see
    if/when they replied to it.
    2.  To have any type of automation on unread emails and a notification back to the sender, I doubt that's possible.  Also, that could potentially generate a ton of unnecessary email traffic on your network (for example, I get TONS of alert/notification
emails daily, and don't always read them, having Exchange try to track all of that, and notify the sender of unread messages after 7 days would be a lot to put on exchange).  I would look into read and delivery receipts that users can use to track this
    type of thing.
    3.  If you want to put a user's mailbox in a state that they cannot delete anything, either implement Journaling for your entire Exchange Org (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998649(v=exchg.150).aspx) or if you're interested in doing this
type of thing per mailbox, I would use the:
    Set-Mailbox -Identity <userID> -litigationholdenabled $true
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2013/12/11/litigation-hold-and-in-place-hold-in-exchange-2013-and-exchange-online.aspx
    Hope this helps!

  • Any tips at this Reporting requirement gathering stage?

    Hello Experts,
I have 10 different sources of data which will mostly come to me in flat files.
Some of the data coming to me for <b>UPDATE</b> will be
    1. daily,           (3 of the sources)
    2. weekly,       (2 of the sources)
    3. monthly      (2 of the sources)
    4. quarterly.   (2 of the sources)
Some of the reporting requirements are <b>(GENERATE REPORTS)</b>:
    a) As needed i.e. on demand by managers
    b) Monthly
    c) Quarterly
I am still in the report requirement gathering phase and I would like some hints here:
Q1. What are the Dos and Don’ts?
Q2. Does it matter whether the various sources are loaded into Cubes or ODSes? Which is the better choices and for what reasons?
Q3. Any special guide on the frequency of Updates?
Q4. Can the data elements from the 10 sources be all placed in say, 2 or 3 dimensions and within a single Cube?  Any advantages of this?
Q5. Can each of the data elements from the 10 sources be placed in say, 10 different ODSes? Any advantages of this?
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi Amanda,
Actually, I’d split the process into those stages:
    1.     gathering report forms that users want to have and a frequency of report generation.
    2.     collection information on available sources of data
    3.     analysis: do the sources will provide all data for forms required – simultaneously the list of reports that would be possible to create is made. Here you can take into account not only availability of resources, but also budget/time/work force limitation. It’ll determine the scope of implementation.
    4.     Conceptual model (with parallel excersises in BW).
    •     If some reports (and data in them) are completely different, don’t having common information, then consider creating separate data providers.
    •     If some reports (and data in them) have something in common, then consider creating separate data providers with a multiprovider on them.
    •     If all data are linked to some key(s) (for example a document number), then consider creating a single cube
    •     Determine time granularity (are your weekly, monthly and quarterly data may be derived from the daily data? If yes, maybe these data (except daily) are redundant. If not, then probably these data supply some additional information to daily? – consider merging this additional info into daily cube (or probably through separate ODS or cubes).
So, it’s a somewhat an answer to Q2 and Q5.
Q3. You may load data just before (say a several days) the reports generation.
Q4. See above about single cube. Additionally, the rule of thumb is to have more little dimensions than few huge dimensions. Consider spreading out your chars into different dimensions. If you’ll be able to have all data in a single cube, it would give you an enormous flexibility in building reports (especially, not mandatory ones, but ad-hoc reports on demand).
Also you can visit www.saptips.com site. I downloaded “Tips on Implementing a BW-Based Management Reporting Solution (and Getting Your Users to Use It!)” but cannot find it in inet. If you want I can send it to you along with “SAP BW projects: dos and donts” (ppt-demo and transcript).
    Best regards,
    Eugene

  • FICO:What are the critical reporting requirements of a finance department?

    Hi Experts,
Can you help me identify all the reporting requirements of a finance departmentn when it comes to the use of BW?
    i. From a reporting perpective, what does the finance department need from BI to say that BI is a worthwhile investiment?
ii. Does BI provide any of the answers provided in i. (above) through its business content objects? If so, can you discuss how BI provides each of the solutions? (I will apprecaite a discussion for the "finance team" and not neccessarily for the IT team)
iii. If all the requirements of a finance department are already available with a newly installed BI, then
what are the typical functions of a BI consultant  to a finance department? i.e. why will a finance department find the need to bring in a BI consutant to advise them on how best to use BW in their environment?
iv. How does the above discussion pertain to CO. i.e. If your discussion above is strictly for FI, can you address i, ii, iii for CO?
    Thanks and Happy Holiday.

    Hi
From a reporting perpective, what does the finance department need from BI to say that BI is a worthwhile investiment?
Normally Financial reports needed for the customer will be P&L, Balance sheet, Cashflow statements and the AR, AP and also Controlling and the Turn over Ratios to know about the financial funding stage about their organization based on their functional requirements.
ii. Does BI provide any of the answers provided in i. (above) through its business content objects? If so, can you discuss how BI provides each of the solutions? (I will apprecaite a discussion for the "finance team" and not neccessarily for the IT team)
Better to talk to your FI CO team for this to understand better at ECC functional level to know what would be the best extractors that you can report on. BI content is already there for almost FI CO reports.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/2d/955a73da4d6d41a0a6128caf274ce8/frameset.htm
and everything mentioned clearly in that why , how , what.
iii. If all the requirements of a finance department are already available with a newly installed BI, then
what are the typical functions of a BI consultant to a finance department? i.e. why will a finance department find the need to bring in a BI consutant to advise them on how best to use BW in their environment?
Though the Finance team has every Extractor at ECC side its only BI consultant who has to work on Modeling , Extraction, Reporting Part for BEx Reports. You have to Map the Fields even though its BI Content some of the Customized objects like Routines, Formulas would be there for each and every project .
iv. How does the above discussion pertain to CO. i.e. If your discussion above is strictly for FI, can you address i, ii, iii for CO?

  • Images not showing up in email reports

I have several reports set to email to myself and various managers every week. These reports have the company logo embedded in them. When I view the report on grid, it works fine but the emailed report only has an image placeholder instead of the actual image. Does anybody know how to fix this? Is it a bug with Grid?
By the way, I'm using version 10.2.0.4 on Windows Server 2003.

Well I think the problem may be that Oracle just doesn't play nicely with most email programs. I run linux on my desktop and use Thunderbird to check my email. This is where I was getting the problem. When I tried it on a Windows machine using Outlook, it worked just fine. To be thorough, I also checked it on Mail on my Mac and it came out pretty much unreadable.
So my guess is that Oracle made sure it worked on Outlook and then walked away. Disappointing from a company that claims to support open standars.
    Anybody else have similar experiences?

  • Email report

    Hi,
Using the email reporting feature in the Quiz Manager, is
there anyway to have the report sent via email automatically. I
would prefer very much not to have to rely on the user clicking a
submit button to activate this feature.
I also am having trouble with the data contained in the
report sent via email, or a lack thereof. I read previous posts in
this forum that suggested the email feature only works when using
the .html file. Even when using the .html file, my mail program (MS
Outlook) opens a new blank message when using Firefox, and sends a
report as an attachment in .ATT (?) file format when using IE.
    Thanks,

    Welcome to our community
Captivate 5 offers an alternate reporting feature that uses Acrobat.com or your internal file server. Nothing changes with Captivate 5 as far as E-Mail reporting goes. And frankly, I'd be surprised if it did because the issue isn't really Captivate related. Instead, it's related to different ways that different E-mail clients work.
Incidentally, there is no Captivate CS5. But I do see many folks confusing the name with the Adobe Creative Suite 5. Captivate isn't part of the Creative Suite of products.

  • REP-0081 error when emailing report output

I am using RUN_REPORT_OBJECT to execute a report from a form. I have the report set up as a Report object in the form. The report runs fine to screen or to file, but I am getting an error when attempting to email report in batch mode:
REP-0081: Error during file I/O operation.
REP-0110: Unable to open file 'mpa02448.pdf'.
    scaba 14
    Execution Mode = Batch
    Report Destination = Mail
Report Destination Name = [email protected]
    Report Destination Format = PDF
I am able to send email to the same address via UTL_SMTP directly from the form, so it is not an email handler problem.
    Any ideas?

I have verified the latest patches.
Addresses are indeed in Windows address book.
As far as verifying permissions on the file, the file does not exist. It would appear that the error is generated when creating the PDF file, before emailing occurs. Again, however, I do not have problems writing to file directly.
Is there a default directory used when emailing report for file creation? Perhaps the permissions on that directory need to be changed. Please advise.

My weekly email reports for my muse sites have all started reporting zero visits since last week. If I login to the admin panel from the Manage button in Muse all the data is there. Anybody got any idea why the email reports would be showing zero hits yet the BC admin report shows data? See below

Both are separate issues where weekly reports show no visitor statistics and where explicit language phrases show as top search phrases on some sites. Please submit a ticket at BC support for us to investigate further as the issue is site specific.
