ENVY 120 scan to email unusable

Hi,
I tried to use scan to email app but after the first time I forgot to flag "remember me" and now no account shows up on the list, and it always starts with "my account is not on the list" which I suppose could be correct.
But:
- if I select "my account is not on the list" it says cannot connect to web service, but everything is ok I am connected;
- if I use another email address and select "remember me" it works, and then it shows up in the menu;
- I cannot use "add user" to add back my email address any more, since it says "check your email you already have PIN" - yes I have it, but how to use it ??
already tried switching off/on, reinstalling the app, but it doesn't work.
how can I "remove" my email from the known users list - or add it back to the user list ?

  • HP envy 120 - scanning via aio app

    Hello,
    I am having a problem using the HP All in One app for scanning.
    I am using an HP envy 120 printer/scanner.
    The printer and scanner work fine when operating directly on the printer device.
    However, when using the app, the printer works fine but the scanner does not. I am trying to scan a document on the printer, but manage the scanning process from my ipad. The app triggers the scan to start (the printer recognises this and moves the scanner over the document). But the app then stops and displays an error message: "There was a problem during the scan. Please check the scanner and try again."
    I have not been able to find a solution for this online. Can you please help? Thank you.

    I see you are trying to scan with the AiO Printer Remote Mobile App, using the Envy 120 and an iPad.
    Seeing that you can print from the iPad, scan and print from the printer control panel, it would seem to be a communication issue between the router, iPad and printer.
    1. Try checking for updates on the printer first, Getting the Latest Firmware and Product Updates. If this helps, no need to continue.
    2. Power reset the iPad, printer and router.
    First the router; if it has a power button, press that. If not, remove the power cord.
    Remove the power cord from the printer, while on.
    Hold the Home and Lock button down on the iPad till it powers off.
    After one full minute, power on all devices and try scanning again.
    3. Uninstall and install the App, then try scanning again.
    Let me know the results.

  • Envy 120 Scanning Issue

    Hi , I see that you are getting vertical lines when scanning. I would really like to be able to help you resolve this issue today.
    I would suggest to uninstall the old printer software, download and install the latest software from HP, if you haven't already. HP ENVY 120 e-All-in-One Printer Full Feature Software and Drivers. If you are still having issues, uninstall and if you still have the CD, install that software to see if it will resolve this issue. If you appreciate my efforts, please click the 'Thumbs up' button below.     Hi UJKarl, welcome to the HP Forums. You should be able to scan from the HP AIO Remote App on your Envy 120 printer. You probably just need to power cycle the printer, iPad and router to regain proper function.
    Turn off your printer with the power button. Power down the iPad by holding the sleep button down until you get the option to 'slide to power off'. Then disconnect the power cord to your router and count to about 10, and then plug it back in. Once the router comes back online, turn the printer on. When the printer comes back online (blue wi-fi light stops blinking), then power the iPad back up. Try again, and it should work.

  • My HP Envy 120 won't scan to Mac

    I successfully connected the HP Envy 120 all in one printer to my MacBook air and have been scanning for a few weeks now. However, although the overview scan still works, when I click on Scan, I just get the message "done scanning selected areas" - nothing gets saved. Where have I gone wrong? Checked all software is up to date. So frustrated because it took me ages to work out how to get everything set up in the first place!!!
    Please can anyone help?

    Thanks - but this is getting a bit beyond me - I just wanted a plug and play! It's still under warranty so I will take it back to John Lewis and ask them for something more compatible with a Mac.

  • ENVY 120 will not copy or scan

    I unpacked my new ENVY 120 yesterday.
    I can print OK. Although on one occasion, printing 2 pages per sheets in duplex, the second side was unreadable. Tried again and the output was satisfactory.
    The issue I have is with copy which should be straight forward ...
    - If I touch copy and then print preview, the display says "Copy preview in progress" and stays there for hours (until I run out of patience)
    - If touch copy and then black or color, the display says "Starting copy" and stays there for hours (until I run out of patience)
    In all cases, the red x (cancel) is unresponsive.  The only way to get the printer back is to touch the power button to shut the printer down and then restart it.
    I have the same issue if I attempt to scan. The display stays on "Preparing scanning..."
    I suspect the product is faulty. Since it does not appear possible to talk to anyone directly at HP to fix or confirm, if I don't get a satisfactory answer today, I will pack the printer send it back and buy another brand.

    I am having the same issue with my two Envy printers. They will neither scan nor copy. They simply read "Copy Preview in Progress" and never progress past that screen.
    Wish there was a better way to get support than through a forum that no one at HP apparently reads.

  • Scan to email server connection error for HP Envy 5530

    Hi, Everyone!
    I LOVE my printer.  But, I had to add another laptop (both WIndows) - and then had to add a couple of monitors to that laptop (and a docking statiion) and now it doesn't want to scan to my emails any longer after working like gangbusters for months. 
    I am connected just fine with an excellent signal - but now when I try the Scan to Email feature - a RED X immediately shows up on the right of the control pad and the message says: Server Connection Error. EVEN though I am wirelessly connected just dandy.
    I am not a technical person in the least.  I have no idea what to do.  I tried all the turn off, turn on stuff.  Nothing is working.

  • Envy 120 scanner

    Envy 120 all-in-one printer well within warranty (bought end of August 2014).
    Trouble: sudden fault of scanner.
    I got in touch with Scott of the Canada-USA on November 17, 2014, around 10:08 PM (italian time).
    He gave me all the instructions by thHP Print&Scan Doctor (new driver, new firmware, ecc), obviously with the null result: it is not possible to establish  a link between PC and my Envy 120.
    Anyway, by means of the copy function I can state that without doubt there is a hardware fault as I see that scan light ioff, while the sensor detects external light.
    I hope I will get from you instructions for the substitution.

    P.S. The scan function seems quite a problem in Envy printer: a previous Envy 100 (out of warranty) exhibted a simmetrical fault: scan light on, scan sensor out of use

  • HP envy 120 and Macbook

    I recently posted here that I could not connect my Macbook to the HP printer.  Someone kindly resolved the problem by suggesting I switch the router off and on again, which seemed to do the trick.
    A couple of weeks later, went to use the printer to scan something and guess what, Macbook does not see the scanner! This time, facts are different. I can print from the Macbook to the HP Envy 120 printer through the wireless router set up. This time, I cannot connect to the printer via HP direct.  Nothing is coming  up when I try to scan from the Macbook - it can see the HP Envy but when I click on Open Scanner, it doesn't seem to connect. If I try and scan from the printer, it says No computer detected.  The printer seems to be connected to the wireless ok. Tried switching router off and on again, no results, rebooting computer and switching printer off an on again, nothing.  Reinstalled latest printer driver software, nothing.
    Please can anyone help?
    A propos, this is becoming a crazy, crazy situation that everytime you want to use the HP printer, you are faced with a different problem trying to get it to work. I seem to spend half my weekends trying to get it to work. Is it me, or does this happen to most people?

    Hi @sueholt0 , welcome back to the HP Forums!
    I see you're having print issues.  I'd like to help.
    I would suggest deleting the printer from your print system, using this document: Uninstalling the Printer Software.
    Once you have deleted it, I would suggest verifying and repairing the disk permissions: About Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions feature.
    I would also suggest running your Apple updates:  OS X: Updating OS X and Mac App Store apps
    After the updates, I would recommend reinstalling the HP ENVY 120 e-All-in-One Printer Full Feature Software and Drivers.

  • Touch screen on HP Envy 120 printer

    My touch screen on my HP Envy 120 printer does not light up.  The printer turns on and I can print from my computer but unable to scan or copy a hard copy document from the touch screen.  Is there an easy fix for this or do I need to return the printer.  The printer was purchased in December 2013.

    I see your Envy 120 printer touch screen is not lighting up.
    Do you have the printer connected directly to a wall outlet or is it in a surge protector or power bar? Even if you have been using a surge protector/power bar all this time and you feel it is not the cause, please connect it to a wall outlet just so we can eliminate the power source as the root cause.
    Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector
    In this document you will see,
    ISSUE:
    Problems or issues may arise when an HP LaserJet series printer is connected to an uninterruptible power supply (UPS), a power strip, or a surge protector
    This is not limited to Laserjet printers.
    Please also ensure you have the newest firmware version; Critical firmware update to improve printer performance.
    If the issue persists, I recommend calling HP and letting the know the issue as well as the steps you have already completed.  If you are in Canada or US call 800 474 6836, or you can Contact HP Worldwide.
    HP printers generally have a 1 year warranty from their purchase date, you can verify the warranty using the following link if you would like; warranty check.

  • HP Envy 120 All in One Printer no longer recognises MacBook Air

    Since upgrading to Yosemite, my HP Envy 120 no longer recognises my Macbook Air and vice versa via the router, having worked previously (not perfectly all the time admittedly but connection wasn't an issue). I can connect Macbook to printer via HP direct, but this means disconnecting from the internet, scanning, then re-connecting to internet which is a bit of a faff and seems a backwards move. 
    I have downloaded the latest HP printer driver software, followed all suggestions I can find on this such as deleting the printer on the Macbook under system preferences, but when I try to add it back on, nothing shows. I've tried adding the IP address manually, this comes up with an error message. I've done the wireless wizard on the printer and that was successful so it is connected to the router but is not detecting my computer, which is also connected to the same router.
    The printer is still under warranty - I meant to take it back when I had earlier problems but decided to stick with it a bit longer. I'm just trying to work out - is it a HP problem or is it an Apple problem - ie can I return the printer under the warranty?
    Or does anyone have any simple fixes? I'm not at all computer literate!

    Hi,
    As you mention that you do able to use the printer with no issues by using HP Wireless Direct, that means that this is neither HP or Apple issue but a network connectivity issue.
    Apple devices uses Bonjour to communicate with the printer, that relies on IP Muticasting which need to be supported by your router.
    If I clearly understood your description and the device do work as expected using HP Wireless Direct, the router is the cause for this issue as you do not see similar issues while removing the oruter from that acquisition... please also let me know if i have misunderstood your intention about the issue.
    Additionally, have you tried rebooting your router by unplugging its power for 10-20 seconds? once it starts up reboot both the printer and then Mac and check for any difference..
    Please try that and check if that help. if the issue persists do let me know your router brand and model, its settings or capabilities may cause a such and may prevet this kind of connectivity.

  • My HP Envy 120 wireless printer will not print from my ipad.

    My Envy 120 series (E39A3C) will no longer print from my ipad. The day I installed it, it did print, but since then will not. As far as I know I have not changed any thing.
    It prints perfectly well from my PC and laptop.
    I have taken all the advice (I think) from the HP Help site, like switching off and on again, like Uninstall and then Install again. Nothing has made any difference.

    No problem, I hope my responses were helpful in some way. The claim code that was printed on the "Important Printer Setup instructions" page when you enabled web services is the printers unique email address, when you append it with @hpeprint.com. AS you have seen, when you send an email from your iPad tot his address with either text content or a file attachment it will print on your Envy 120 provided both the printer and the iPad are connected to the internet via your WiFi network at the time you send the message. Just in case you run into any issues with ePrint jobs being delayed or not completing, here is a support document that gives possible causes and solutions.

  • Why can't I scan by email?

    Just bought an Envy 7640 series. Yesterday, set it up to scan to the email of two laptops.. Worked great for one of them (an old Toshiba with Vista).  The second one is brand new Toshiba with Windows 8; and, although, the printer indicated the scan was a success, I never received it - and tried numerous times. Since I  received an email during the process, welcoming me to eprint, I know they have correct address. Help please!

    So you're having an issue scanning to email from your Envy 7640 through the eprint app? I would be happy to assist you in resolving this issue. Since you're able to scan to email through the one Vista computer and you got the confirmation email we know that eprint should be properly set up.
    For the Eprint Scan to Email App troubleshooting I am including the link the the helpful solution by @happytohelp01on Server Connection Error - Scan to Email App.
    For now,  here are some alternative ways to scan to email on your product:
    How to Scan to Email Through the Front Panel:
    On the printer control panel, touch the Scan icon (), and then touch Email.
    On the welcome screen, touch Continue.
    Touch inside the Email: box, type in your email address, and then touch Done.
    Touch Continue.
    A PIN is sent to the email address you entered. Touch Continue.
    Touch PIN, enter the PIN you received in your email, and then touch Done.
    Touch Store Email or Auto-login, depending on how you want the printer to store your login information.
    Scan the item
    On the printer control panel, touch the Scan icon (), and then touch Email.
    On the control panel display, select the account that you want to use, and then touch Continue.
    Touch the name of the email profile that you created, enter the password if prompted, and then scan the item.
    How to Scan: From the Control Panel (Including Scan to Email, to a JPEG, and to a PDF)
    How to Scan to Email through HP Scan software:
    1. Open the HP Printer Assistant software on your Desktop (black printer icon)
    2. Click on Scan a Document or Photo and the scan software will open
    3. Select the 'Email as PDF' option : Use this option to automatically attach a non-editable scanned text document to an email message.
    4. Load your document onto your printer
    5. On the computer select Scan and your document will scan and show a preview on your computer
    6. Select 'Save' and the document will now automatically attach itself as a PDF attachment in  your email program.
    Note:  This mode of scanning only works with Local Email Clients (such as Outlook and Windows Live Mail). Should you only use a web-based email service (Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail) the HP Scan software will give you an error indicating that 'no email application is associated to your computer).
    Scan from Windows 8 With the Full Feature HP Software for HP Multifunction Printers
    If these modes of scanning work through the HP Scan software than we know that the HP Printer is fully setup and your email program is not blocking your scans like 'junk' mail.
