Error messages w/ iCloud

I keep getting an error message from iCloud saying, "URLs with the type "file:" are not supported." What's going on? I've only been using iCloud and the new Mac OS for a week. Thanks in advance.

It doesn't sound as if this has anything to do with iCloud, but basically whatever you are doing, you're trying to make use of a file which is living either on your Mac or on someone else's Mac or PC, and is thus not available over the internet and so can't be opened.
If, for example, you had a page called 'fred.html' on your Mac and you opened it in Safari, the URL displayed would be something like
file:///Users/username/Sites/fred.html
You sometimes get people posting this type of URL in a web page, thinking that it's a useful URL, but of course it only works for them.

  • I changed my password and it updated on all of my devices except my ipad... Now I get this error message from icloud saying icloud backup cannot access my account... There are two options: ignore or settings

Error message: icloud unable to access my account... I changed my password, this is the message on my ipad. gives me two options: ignore/settings... ipad not responding to either... ?

Try a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • ICal Error Message 403 (iCloud)

    Hi Apple Users!
After giving my girlfriend access to my calenders via iCloud I get the Error Message 403. (I also got now acces to her calender.)
"The Access to the account "iCloud" is not allowed
    Answer of the servers:
    "403"
    to process CalDAVSetPropertyQueueableOperation"
(I translated it into english, the original message is shown in german)
"Der Zugriff auf Account „iCloud“ ist nicht gestattet.
    Antwort des Servers:
    „403“
    an Vorgang CalDAVSetPropertyQueueableOperation"
On both iPhones 4S (iOS 5.0) the calender are shown and updated correclty. Only in iCal I get the error message.
    Can someone help me please?
    In advance I thank you.
    Yours sincerely,
    Marc

Sorry reading your error in more detail I get the feeling our errors are not exactly the same.
I do not have access to my colleagues iCloud account.
This started when I tried to import two recent meeting invitations I recieved by e-mail to my iCal.
The error message was identical to yours:
    The server responded:
    “403”
    to operation CalDAVWriteEntityQueueableOperation.
The result being I was unable to import the meeting.
If I create a new invitation in iCal directly I have no problem.  And up until today I have not had any problems importing invitations from this person or anyone else using Microsoft Outlook.

  • Error message on iCloud

I recently merged two calendars to put my work calendar and iCloud calendar together, I was missing appointments because they were seperate. I now consistently get the following error message and it's annoying me.
Access to “Justin WORK” in “iCloud” in account “iCloud” is not permitted.
    The server responded:
    “403”
    to operation CalDAVWriteEntityQueueableOperation.
Sometimes it's Justin, sometimes another name.
Does anyone know how I can sort it out?
    Many thanks
    Mike

I select yes, take all accounts online, but I then get this error message: "This Mac can't connect to iCloud because a problem with '[email protected]'. Open iCloud preferences to fix this problem." What exactly in iCloud preferences can I do to 'fix the problem?'"

    Update to my question:
I "unchecked" Mail in iCloud preferences and then checked it again, fixed problem.

  • "can't load find my iphone" error message in icloud

When I open icloud and try the "find my iphone" feature, I get this message: can't load find my iphone. This used to work 2 weeks ago but no anymore. Can anyone help?

Update:  Installed Firefox browser per someone's suggestion.  "Find my iPhone" app loaded normally from iCloud and found the phone within 5 seconds.  Problem with Internet Explorer 9 still persists.  Guess this is as good a work around as any.

  • I have an ipad mini and it is completely frozen and has not synced for over 12 weeks  error message says Icloud Backup  This ipad hasn't been backed up in 15 weeks. Backups happen when this ipad is plugged in, locked, and connected to wi-fi

I was given an ipad mini for Christmas.  It has twice frozen completely up.  It is also not backing up or syncing with my other devices.  The prompt on the screen states:
    icloud backup
this ipad hasn't been backed up in 15 weeks.  Backups happen when this ipad is plugged in, locked, and connected to wi-fi.
then there is an OK bar underneath
anyone experience this and if so how do I reboot?
    Gigi

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Error message in iCloud: Notes can't be enabled at this time!

    Hi all
Since I updated to OSX I have problem with mail and notes.  Mail is very slow and I can't sync Notes. I see them on Icloud and on iPhone but not on my iMac.
    Hope someone have the solution.
    Thank's!

Notes doesn't work for me either for a while, I am sure it is an iCloud problem that Apple is getting fixed. Notice that the iCloud.com website doesn't include Notes while the beta website does.

  • ICloud error message won't go away

  • Error message on iphone 3GS when initiating back-up for the first time "icloud backup failed - how to fix

When initiating back-up of my 3GS to icloud for the first time, I repeatedly receive an error message reading:
    "iCloud backup failed
There was a problem enabling iCloud backup"
I cannot find a solution to this problem amd no amount of checking and rechecking account settings etc. has made any difference. Does anyone have experience of how to overcome this issue. The iCloud back-up initiated on my iPad without any problem so I do not think the problem is account related.
    Thanks.

    Same problem here...
I just upgraded my 3GS to iOS5 and signed into iCloud using my Apple ID...
Every time I click "Back Up Now" in the iCloud preferences on the iPhone, I get "There was a problem completing the backup.  Please try again later."
On my wife's iPhone 4, I just performed a back up and there were no errors.  I tried this also on my wife's iPad 2 and it worked perfectly.
    I have tried the following:
    1. In iTunes, when my phone is connected, I selected "Back up to iCloud" on the summary tab
    2. Reset my phone using the steps in the above post
    3. Deleted the iCloud account on my iPhone and logged in again
    4. Tried to backup from 3 different wireless networks
None of the steps above fixed the issue which has been going on all day for me...
Any other help would be great - thanks!
