ES1 Laggy Process Editing

Several of my 8.2 processes are quite large (perhaps 200+ activities). Unfortunately, the requirements of the process means that I don't have a great deal of subprocess flexibility. They are getting painful to edit because:
it takes a long time to save changes
it takes a long time to launch to edit
moving activities around the screen is slow
activities no longer want to "line up" to the workbench grid when done moving
Mouse up on drag activity often doesn't want to release the activity
I suspect this has a lot to do with the fact that the Workbench UI is in constant contact with the LC Server.
So ... my question is, does ES2, 9.0, 9.5 eliminate a lot of these issues by allowing you to work in the local sandbox where a constant updating of the LC Server is not required?

One of the major internal changes of the Process Editor is to base its graphic manipulation on a Flash based authoring experiance. Additionally, the periodic background commuication with the server has been largely removed. Your experience editing large process maps with ES2 should be substaintially better than it was with the 8x product.

Problem with processing edited inbound idoc

hi
i am editing an inbound idoc as a result it goes to status 69.
Then to process this IDoc through program 'RBDAPP01', i am changing the status of the idoc to 64 through IDOC_STATUS_WRITE_TO_DATABASE'.
But after that when i am calling transaction for RBDAPP01 passing the idoc number it gives me a message 'IDoc is still being processed' and the status is 64.
Any help on the same is highly appreciated.

Hi Anand,
If you have custom program written, please add FM <b>DEQUEUE_ALL</b> at the end of FM IDOC_STATUS_WRITE_TO_DATABASE. This will prevent overflow of the lock table for large number of IDOCs prior to call program RBDAPP01.
If you run manually via SE37, please ensure you are completely out from FM IDOC_STATUS_WRITE_TO_DATABASE. Then you can run program RBDAPP01. Please use program RC1_IDOC_SET_STATUS to convert IDoc status.

Acrobat 5 Batch Processing Edit batch sequences

I'm in a process of upgrading from Acrobat version 5 to the latest version of Acrobat.
I have a user who bookmarks PDF's via Batch Processing in Acrobat 5. I need to export this Java script to a new machine.
What is the easiest and fastest way to do this?

Can you guys please post some screenshots or instructions... It's a big step from version 5 to version 11... I think it's working but by the looks of it the user needs to do more work to what they did in the version 5.

Adding PDF’s to existing PDF’s

User needs ‘X’ PDF to drag and drop on ‘XX’ PDF and to be set at the last page > then the destination to be set > save and close:
few issues with Adobe 11.0 in regard to this – example below with adobe 11.0 and also with what the user previously did with Adobe 5.0 (user needs to use 11.0 version)
Relates to image 1 below – as suggested in the above forum user is to open ‘page thumbnails’ left hand panel and drag X PDF onto XX PDF but the user may have 1000 individual PDF’s within X and this is time consuming scrolling all the way to the bottom in the ‘page thumbnails’ left hand panel to add in PDF X. Can you assist in a more simple way or is there a better way to do this?
Relates to image 2 below - User previously in Adobe 5.0 would open ‘X’ PDF and then drag and drop ‘XX’ PDF and click ‘insert pages’ > ‘last’ > ‘Ok’ = this would set X PDF into XX PDF and set it to start after the last page on XX

CS5 Batch Processing Photo Editing work flow

I am relatively new to CS5 and I am intested in automating the correct gross photo editing work flow process [ie., levels contrast, color , noise, sharpening etc] once I have made RAW corrections for each photo.I hope this is as simple as refering me to a tutorial

Not sure exactly your are looking for, a template or an action to apply to other images. In Bridge/tools/photoshop there are a number of options. The image processor is quite powerful. There is also the option to make a metadata template to apply settings to other images.
Do a google search for batch process edits Bridge and see what suits your fancy.

I'm losing LIghtroom processing changes when opening photo in Photoshop. Why?

I have been using Lightroom only for a couple of weeks. For several years I used Bridge and Camera Raw for RAW file processing. After noticing that every .DNG file I process in LIghtroom 5.4 and subsequently open in Photoshop-CS4 loses the Lightroom processing in Photoshop, I conducted the following experiment:
A .dng file that had not previously been in LR catalog was placed in folder as Original DNG.dng.
File was copied and named Lightroom Processed.dng
Both files were imported into LR
The Lightroom Processed.dng file was loaded into Develop module and Exposure set to +5.00. (Note that original is underexposed by about 1 stop and at +5 the photo is almost completely washed out.)
Lightroom Processed.dng was opened in Photoshop-CS4. (There was no prompt for "Edit a copy with Lightroom adjustments". I'm assuming it was because it was a .dng file.) The original underexposed version was displayed is PS. When Ctrl-S was used to save the file, a file entitled Lightroom Processed-Edit.tif was automatically saved in the same folder and imported into LR.
I copied the Develop Settings from Lightroom Processed.dng to LIghtroom Processed-Edit.tif and the numeric exposure setting was displayed as +5.00 BUT there are slight differences in appearance and in the histogram for the .dng and .tif versions. The .tif version is very slightly darker than the .dng version.
I opened LIghtroom Processed-Edit.tif in PS. This time I was prompted to "Edit a copy with Lightroom adjustments" along with the other two options for opening a copy without adjustments or opening original. I selected "Edit a copy with Lightroom adjustments".
I can't believe that one cannot process a raw file in Lightroom and then open it in Photoshop without having the processing one does in Lightroom carry over into Photoshop. I've never had this problem using Bridge and Camera Raw. What am I doing wrong?

@willard, moving from a Photoshop Bridge-ACR workflow to an Lightroom workflow there are a couple important differences to be aware off.
a. ACR/Bridge uses .xmp sidecars to read and write changes to raw files(in the case of DNG files the .xmp data is stored within the file header). ACR/ Bridge cannot read the data stored in the Lightroom Catalog. The info is in the file.
b. Lightroom by default uses a Catalog file to read and write all that you do in Lightroom. The info is in the Catalog. There is also the option to have Lightroom also write info to a sidecar .xmp file or within the file header of DNG, TIFF or JPG files. This can also be achieved by using the CTRL/CMD-S. This info in the .xmp or DNG files is used by ACR/Bridge.
c. In your case the xmp data written by LR 5 which uses the equivalent of ACR 8.4 will not be fully understood by PS CS4 which uses ACR 5.x.
d. So if you open a DNG file directly in PS CS4 there will not be full compatibly. (you may have requested Lightroom to write to the DNG file but PS CS4 cannot read it all)

In the Lightroom Preferences General tab> Prompts> select Reset all warning dialogs.

Load xslt mapper from mds in BPMN process

i assume you mean how to load an xslt itself which is in the mds store? (since the mapper itself is just the tool to use)

EDI : inbound processing error.

Hi All,
I am facing the below error
"Entry in inbound table not found" status 56.
I am setting a new EDI inbound interface for goods reciept GR:
We have got a flat file which we are trying to upload from SAP directory.
after uploading i am getting the above error. The error points at Partner Profile details stating the details doesnot exist. But i cross checked and its all correct.
- Partner Profile created.
- Message type exixt in INBOUND Parameters.
If i reprocess this failed idoc using we19 selecting INbound function module "L_IDOC_INPUT_WMMBXY" then it gets processed successfully.
If i reprocess this failed idoc via editing and then running report RBDINPUT for processing edited idoc status 69, then the probelm persist.
I dont know what i am missing.

Inbound Processing of Idocs with status other than success

Hi,
In addition to the previous posts few more programs to process failed inbound IDocs are as mentioned below.
- Use program RBDAGAIE to process edited IDocs (IDocs with status 69)
- Use program RBDAPP01 to process IDocs failing with serialization issue (IDocs with status 66)
- Use program RBDAGAI2 to process IDocs after ALE inbound error (IDocs with status 56, 61, 63, 65)

Editing help

When I try to upload my edited RAW photo's to Walgreens to print, they loose edit's I have made to them. Does anyone have this problem? If so, is there a solution?

How are you going about uploading?
Remember you can't print a Raw. It must first be processed (edited) and saved as a Jepg or someother format that Walgreens understands.

Hi,
you could use a combination of "period job" scheduling (daily) plus a custom Factory Calendar restriction where you would create a Factory Calendar with only saturday.
You can use SFT3 to create a custom Factory Calendar.
Start process -> Edit mode (Ctrl + F9) -> Scheduling Options -> Direct Scheduling -> Change Selections -> Date/Time -> Period values -> Daily -> Restrictions: your factory calendar...

How do I convert a processed image back to its original RAW

I work with designers who like to see a processed, edited DNG, but then they need to go back to the original RAW and re-crop, change color balance etc. depending on the job. How can they do that in Photoshop?!

In camera raw, if you press Q you can get a split screen to see a before after. If you look at the bottom right of the image you will see some icons those you can click to alter the preview. If you look to the right of the bar for each tab on right side of dialog box is a small icon, there you can choose custom, image, default, etc. Which allows you to click back and forth between the views. Finally holding down the alt or opt key will change the cancel button at the bottom to a reset button.

Brushed edits disappear in Viewer from some images

I have some photos for which I can no longer access the post processing edit I made to them.
Specifically it seems to be the brushed edits that are lost. Crops, contrast, etc. are present, but nothing brushed.
If I've just quit Aperture and go back in I see brushed edits in these same phtos for maybe a second as I scan through the viewer, then they don't reappear agin unti I quit/restart Aperture.
If I export one of these photos, the resulting image does not contain the brushed edits either and does contain image level edits such as crop and horizontal adjust.
I suppose this is an issue worthy of Aperture Library repair since I have no idea how many or what photos are specifically having this problem. I just wanted to check in here first before taking the big step. Also I have backups in Time Machine and a Vault though I don't know how far back this goes.

When you get the blank screen, have you tried going to full screen mode or coming back to standard viewing mode if you already are in full screen?

Would like to seek help, that I try to upload budget using T-code KP06 from a text(tab delimited) file into SAP system by go to Extra->Excel Planning->upload but the system does not allow to upload the budget and have the following error.
1) The row inserted cannot be processed manually message Message no. K9
2) The cost element 4101110600 you want to plan has a primary cost element type.
     The cost center HNIS to be planned is blocked against the planning of
     primary costs. This block was made in the master record of this cost
      center for period(s) 001.
3)Locks or problems have occurred
    Message no. K8037
   Diagnosis
    When checking for the planning records to be processed/edited, locks or
    problems were found. Only a portion of the planning records can be
    processed or none at all.
I have check the period is not in the system by using OKP2 and the version and fiscal year is not lock and I dont not why this error message appear.

Hi Karen ,
Check master data of the cost center HNIS. The in control tab .. plan primary costs may be locked( Tick may be there). Remove the same and try to upload again..

evenif am putting break-point its not happening..B'coz we are generating spool in F110 and its run in background mode...
Is there no solution to this ????

IMovie 11 - can't edit an existing project

Mac mini, OS X 10.7.5, editing in iMovie 11
Two open projects, one completed, one in process. When I opened iMovie today the following occurred -
Project in process "edit project" button not highlighted, neither project will play in viewer, clips from completed project will play in viewer with sound, clips from project in process have no sound.
Tried repair disk permissions in disk utility but no change, have 97 GB avail on 500GB drive, can't figure out what happened - no recent power surges/outages, everything working normally yesterday.

Answered my own question - I had just imported 2 videos to add to the project in process before I shut down yesterday. After trying a bunch of other fixes, I deleted both those videos and everything is working again. Probably maxed out memory or space or something with the extra data so I will be careful to only add small clips to this project from now on.
