Exchange Rate Download Service
Hi There,
Are there any SAP services available that could update the exchange rate in the SAP system? Are there any third party product that does this?
Right now we manually enter exchange rate in the SAP system. We need to automate this process.
Please let know if you have any information on this matter .
Thanks,
Fatema

Exchange rate in service entry sheet
Hi,
Could someone tell me how the exchange rate gets determined in service entry sheet. I am facing a problem while doing ML81N. While doing so when I click on condition type, I see the exchange rate as INR to USD = 0.080, while for all the other items exchange rate shows 45.00 which is correct.
Now I want to know what is going wrong and where.
Regards,Hi,
Currency in PO and Vendor master in USD only.
Secondly, In my case I have only one PO and only one service number. Service entry sheet has been created for 5 line items. 4 are alike only in one case the exchange rate is from INR to USD. Still one service entry sheet in pending for creation. When I go to create this pending entry sheet (ML81N) and check the condition type for exchange , I find its again from USD to INR.
Why this so..?

CRM exchange rate delta download from ECC
Hi experts,
We are trying to download the exchange rate from ECC for the delta scenario. I've tried to schedule a job to run the program SMOF_DOWNLOAD with Object DNL_CUST_BASIS3, but it comes up with an err, which says "Error 004 DNL_CUST_BASIS3: No Initial Load if data distribution is active. Use Synchron. Load". Will anyone advice how to achieve the delta download for exch rate from ECC to CRM or what i did wrong in the program execution?
Rgs, MichelleHi,
you can check the object DNL_CUST_BASIS3 by t-code:R3AC3,
Delete Function COMPARE, Then can load again and check

Problem while 're-posting' a cancelle Invoice with Exchange Rate Difference
Hi Gurus,
We are facing a problem while re-posting an Invoice with Exchange Rate Difference. I say re-posting because this invoice was previously posted and reversed on the same date. Here is the scenario along with the relevant postings:
1)
G/R is posted in September when the exchange rate for dollar was, say, Rs. 49 = 1 USD.
Posting:
Service A/C.....100 USD (Rs. 4900)
To SR/IR Clearing A/C...100 USD (Rs. 4900)
2)
MIRO is done in October, when the exchange rate was, say, Rs. 48 = 1 USD. Thus, the exchange difference posting was done in the respective accounts.
Posting:
SR/IR Clearing A/C......100 USD (Rs. 4900)
To Vendor A/C...........90 USD (Rs. 4320)
To TDS A/C..............10 USD (Rs. 480)
To Exch. Difference A/C. 0 USD (Rs. 100)
This was the correct entry, however we missed out some TDS codes and thus needed to reverse this entry and repost it.
3)
Now this invoice was reversed (T.Code MIRO) in october itself on exactly the same date on which invoice was created, and it resulted in the following postings:
Vendor A/C......90 USD (Rs. 4320)
TDS A/C.........10 USD (Rs. 480)
To SR/IR Clearing A/C...100 USD (4800, i.e. 48 * 100, Rs.48 being the exchange rate in october)
4)
Now when we try to post MIRO again, it is posting the following entry:
SR/IR Clearing A/C......97.96 USD (Rs. 4800)
Exch. Difference A/C.....2.04 USD (Rs. 0)
To Vendor A/C........... 85 USD (Rs. 4080)
To TDS1 A/C............. 10 USD (Rs. 480)
To TDS2 A/C............. 5 USD (Rs. 240)
This is a wrong entry. SR/IR clearing A/C should have been debited by 100 USD (Rs. 4900), and the Exch. Rate difference account should have been credited by 0 USD (Rs. 100)
Can someone please help us with this. What the system seems to be doing is, that when the Invoice was reversed, the value that got reversed for SR/IR Clearing A/C was 100 USD but with Rs. 4800 instead of Rs. 4900. Now, when we try to repost the invoice, the system divided this value by the exchange rate prevalent in September, i.e. Rs. 49, thus the resultant value 97.96 USD (i.e. 4800 / 49).
Please help.
Thanks!
Regards,
Angad NagpalSolved.
The final entry is correct, as the net result in the G/L balances is the same. For further information please refer to notes 116250 and 46564.
Thanks!

Exchange rate upload throuhg Transaction ob08
Hi,
I need to load automatically the exchange rates which are downloaded from company site which are in pounds every month to transaction ob08
I'm trying to use TBDM to upload exchange rates, and I'm having problems.
I created an excel file according the help information. But when I try to run TBDM, my list and error log file are empty. No error messages, but no results.
I tried saving the file as comma delimited and as tab delimited text file, but neither worked. When I first tried to run TBDM, it wanted me to enter a data provider, so I had to set one up in the Treasury config. Is there other config I need to do? You said something in your message about using Access to make a fixed length file. Apparently I'm missing something.
I am also trying to load through Transaction TBEX but that does work either.
I just want to know from Financials gurus if I am proceeding correctly or not.
I'd really appreciate any hints!
MaRkHi,
This question is very old but when you look for this in Google this is the first page that comes up.
To make your own uploadable table in Excel you need to follow this structure:
Required means that you must fill that field and Empty means that should leave it blank.
The length describes the length of the field. It's very important the length of the field because if you don't use that length then it won't work the upload.
1 Data Class (Fixed value '01') - Length 2 - Required
2 Key 1 FROM currency - Length 20 - Required
3 Key 2 TO currency - Length 20 - Required
4 Category Interest type - Length 15 - Required
5 Date Calculation Date (Format DDMMYYYY) - Length 8 - Required
6 Time Calculation Time (Format HHMMSS) - Length 6 - Empty
7 Value Value of Data - Length 20 - Required (Use dot for decimals not commas)
8 Currency Not applicable - Length 20 - Empty
9 FROM Ratio Translation Ratio from - Length 7 - Required
10 TO Ratio Translation Ratio to - Length 7 - Required
11 Other Not applicable - Length 5 - Empty
12 Status Error status (values 50..99) - Length 2 - Empty
13 Error message Error message - Length 80 - Empty
In excel you can define the column width with right click in the column. Doing that define every column with the previous length exposed. Fill the required fields.
You should use define every field in "Text" format because numbers like the first one: 01, must be 01 and it won't work with just 1. The same with date, if you have a date like 5012015 it won't work and has to be 8 digits like 05012015 (05.01.2015)
After you define every column width and define the required fields. Remember to delete the headers if you used them.
Finally save the file as .prn (Formated Text Space Delimited) and upload TBDM.
That's it -
Exchange Rate results in Additioanl Actuals
Hi All,
I have an issue with the report S_ALR_87013558, especially where multiple currencies are concerned. One of our projects has been running since 2008 and there is a PO connected with this Project for the same period. The PO has a fixed exchange rate of 6.3. Thus 1 $ will give you 6.3 local currency. The problem arises where the exchange rate changes over time and actuals are posted (MIGO/MIRO) at the committed $ amount but varying local currency amounts.
Due to this, commitments in the S_ALR_87013558 report are understated in local currency. Example would be $4000 = 1000 local currency when it fact it should be +- 24 000 local currency. The system reduced the local currency committed amount with the higher actual values, effectively reducing with more that it shold have.
Final example given to illustate the point
PO commitment of $1000. Local currency commitment of 6300. Service entry sheet and invoicing done at exchange rate of 6.8. Thus we have commitment reducing in local currency of 6800 instead of 6300, thus commitments are understated with 500 local currency.
Kind Regards;

Reporting is correct only, system is reducing the commitment by actual posted (system wont check whether you entered different exchange rate during PR and now changed different) as it is real time data.
In my earlier reply I mentioned it is a standard behavior.
Please make a "Z" report as you required..! -
HI all
how to find the Exchange Rate Fluctuation at the time of payment.
during MIRO there will be an Exchange Rate but at the time of payment exchange rate can change. so how can i identify this differnce. so from which table and field ,the values can be fetched (at the time of Import)Hi
1.Budget upload to WBS (INR)
2.PO creation (USD) - Budget gets comitted from available budget
At this point of time there will be only commitment on your WBS element.
3.GRN - Committed budget increases (due to fluctuation)
When you do GRN, then your WBS element will be debited with actual value in USD. There may be some difference in exchange rate but posting on WBS will reflect the actual value of goods/services recieved.
4.Invoice(USD) - Committed budget again increases (due to fluctuation)
At this point of time, if there is any exchange rate difference with reference to GR value (which is already shown under ACTUAL column) that difference will be credited/debited to your WBS element.
When you run S_alr_87013558/542 reports for your WBS element with currencies USD and INR - for you cost elements then you can observe this difference. Exchange rate fluctuation will affect your WBS element budget. I hope you are using account assignment category P.

Exchange rates at line items in billing document - VF04
Hello,
We are trying to create a collective billing document, via transaction VF04, for deliveries created from two sales orders with different exchange rates (VKBD-KURRF).
When we try to execute this operation, two billing documents are created and in split analysis. This behavior is due to different exchange rates (from sales orders).
Since the sold-to-party is the same, he wants a unique billing document for all deliveries.
So we pretend to post one billing document with different exchange rates at item level, instead of at header level.
Is this possible?
Regards,
José MeloDear José Melo
You can combine multiple deliveries in one billing document provided the following are same in all preceding documents
- Payer
- Actual GI Date from Delivery
- Payment Terms
- Inco Terms
- Account Assignment Group of customer
- Exchange Rate
In your case, since invoice is splitting due to exchange rate, you can achieve to have one invoice. In VF04, you can see a tab Default Data where there is a field Service Rendered Date. Maintain a date and generate so that you will get one invoice.
thanks

i would like to get exchange rates of different countries into our SAP system, without having to upload any files, either via EDI or something else.Do any of you have any suggestions, service providers ?
Hello Reshigan,
Please use the Message Type EXCHANGE_RATE to automate the replication of Exchange Rates using EDI.
Further to this, if you need to transfer the exchange rates from the central sap system to other systems (Ex: Test, Integration), then use the program RFALEX00 to acheive this.
Please reward if the info resolves your problem.

Exchange Rate Billing documents
Dear Friends,
In SAP billing process; I am facing the problem with the exchange rate. as the rates picked in the sales order as default exchange rates maintained for the day; if the sales order is MTO and goods will dispatched after 2 months and within these 2 month the exchange rate got floated by a large amount and during the billing with VF01 t-code; the exchange rate will be something else; and I canu2019t change it at that instance also.
The billing document will be posted to the accounting after getting the money from the customer and the exchange rate will become something else at this moment also; and make a large difference of amount at this instance. Is there is any provision in sap system so that I can change the exchange rate in the billing document and with this same exchange rate I can post the entries in accounting also. It will solve the problem as it will give me the billing amount in exact LC amount also.
Please provide the solution for the same.
KrahejaGood Afternoon,
In the billing document there are 3 exchange rates, please review:
- VBRP-KURSK
Exchange Rate for the conversion Loc.currency <-> Doc.currency.
for Price Determination
The determination of this exchange rate depends on the setting
of TVCPFLP-PFKUR in customizing copy-control
- VBRK-KURRF.
Exchange Rate for the conversion Loc.currency <-> Doc.currency.
for FI postings
If there is a manual entry in the sales order field VBKD-KURRF
(Goto -> Header -> Accounting), then it is copied into VBRK-KURRF.
Otherwise VBRK-KURRF is determined during invoice creation.
It is supposed that manual entry has higher priority.
See the OSS note 36070.
- KOMV-KKURS
Exchange Rate for the conversion Cond.currency <-> Loc.currency
at price condition level.
It is always determined according to the Pricing date.
See the OSS notes 92613, 97487.
During VF01 the system determines the Exchange rate for FI posting
VBRK-KURRF from the currency tables according(OB08) to the billing date
only if the field Exchange rate for FI posting is empty in the
source sales document (VBKD-KURRF).
If the sales document has this field filled, manually or copied from
a reference invoice (by copy control routine), then it is copied
in the subsequent billing document. This is the standard working
of the system.
The exchange rate should be based on your configuration in copy control
(VTFA or VTFL) at the item category level. The choices you have are as
follows:
Pricing Exhange Rate Type (V_TVCPFLP-PFKUR)
A Copy from sales order
B Price exchange rate = Accouting rate
C Exchange rate determination according to billing date
D Exchange rate determination according to pricing date
E Exchange rate determination according to current date
F Exch.rate determination accord.to date of services rendered
I hope you find this information very helpful and hopefully it will solve your problem.

Martina McElwain

Billing is not happening according to the exchange rate
dear all i have a problem
while doing export sales , in copy control settings of VTFL , i put pricing exchang rate as " B ' thesystem is calculating the correct exchange rates at the excise posting. but during billing the system is not taking the correct exchange rate which is for that particular month..
in the schdeulines header data accounting tab before processing for billing i need to put the correct exchange rate manually then if i do the billing the required exchange rate is coming in the billing .
in order the system to caculate the exact foreign exchage rate during billing and exise posting automatically based on the rate given in" OB08" what is the best way i can give
becasue the key user is finding it diffcult to put the correct exchange rate manually before processing the schedulines agreement and then do the process
kindly send ur suggestionsHi,
According to standard SAP , the accounting document will be calculated in case of export sales based on the exchange rate determined in invoice header, where as the excise postings will capture exchange rate from invoice item line.
Due to this u have no problem at excise invoice and the system will not change at invoice header based on your billing date, service rendered date etc based on copy control changes.
If you want system to determine exchange rate automatically at invoice header based on billing date etc, with out changing in sale order, you need to incorporate a routine and user exit with the help of your abaper.
The system will not accept copy control changes in this case.
So clearly you can tell your requirement to abap consultant and incorporate user exit for your requirement.

Exchange Rate for planned delivery cost
Hi
In one PO ( Document type NB with item category std) exchange rate for planned delivery charges ( Condition type FRC1) is calculated considering base date as document date of PO.( Exchange Rate is not fixed) while doing Goods Receipt
In other PO ( Document type NB with item category L -subcontracting ) exchange rate for planned delivery charges ( Condition type FRB1) is calculated considering base date as posting date of GR.( Exchange Rate is not fixed)
Can anyone tell why ?Dear Murugan
I wish to putforth the below check for you to solve the issue.
You told that Intially while creating the PO, your supply vendor and freight vendors are different, please check did you enter the vendor code in the freight item condition details. If yes then you have two invoicing parties for the PO.
Now you also told that, you have carried out MIGO for the PO line item which which has Freight also as an additional condition type. That means for the PO line item your GR have been completed or partly done. If you have done this then how did you change the freight vendor in PO after GR for the item , system does not allow that as you have already carried out the the GRN.
To avoid all such cases of freight vendor change, the best solution is to change the vendor before GRN itself and assign the right vendor in the item condition of the PO,then proceed forthe GRN.
For your case please cancell the GRN also since you have already cancelled the Invoice.
Assign the right Freignt vendor , then proceed for MIGO. Once done In MIRO go for invoice and select goods/service items from the selection menu and process it for the supply vendor.
Then again you can go for MIRO and select planned delivery cost from the drop down and process it.
The above can be done combined also and in any sequence also , there are no holds upon that.

Exchange rate date in billing documents
Hello,
we have a process in which from one contract we create invoices, credit memos, ... without creating any delivery.
Some contracts were created on 2004, and when we create the invoice/credit memo, ... the exchange rate at item level is taken from contract's date and not billing date (i am not too sure why at header level it takes it from billing date).
In copy control you can set it at item level with VTFA, for example combination WV to G2. Then Click on items >>> select item >>> details >>> PricingExchRate type
There are various options
A - Copy from sales order
B - Xchange rate = accounting rate
C - Exchange rate determination according to billing date
D - Exchange rate determination according to Pricing date
E - Exchange rate determination according to current date
F - Exchange rate determination according to service rendered date
I can select C and then it works.
The question is how to restrict this by company code, as a change here will afect all countries. Maybe we can use the copying control in VOFM?
Thanks and regards,
FernandoI'm not aware of any other solution than creating a new dcument flow and corresponding item category or maybe determine a specific item category through a user exit. But, considering my experience as consultant facing this kind of problems a lot, i would suggest to make an inquiry amongst the other company codes to check if them as well would rather have this kind of exchange rate determination. Most of the times is worth it.... People don't want to bother or risk any change, and you end up with systems unecessarily mixed and complicated..

Hi SAP gurus...
I have this problem:
When I post the "goods/service items" in MIRO, the exchange rate reamins exactlye the same as I entered in my Purchase Order, however, when I post the "planned delivery costs" the exchange rate changes to the suggested one instead of the one I typed in the PO... I can change this manually before entering the Purchase order in MIRO. But it would be better for the users not to fill out any exchange rate, is there a way that the exchange rate come out automatically from the purchase order when i post "planned delivery costs"?
Thanks for your help!
EloyHi KC
thanks for reply...
Actually the Purchase order has the exchange rate fixed, but it only works on "goods/service items", what can i do to make it work for "Planned delivery costs"?
Thanks in advance
