Executing approvals from Blackberry device

Our client wants to know if its possible to approve a workflow request from a Blackberry or a comparable communicator device. Does anyone have any experience dealing with a similar requirement. Our client is telling us that CA is claiming their product supports this capability.

  • User´s Full name is displayed when sending email from Blackberry device

    Dear readers
Im working with BlackBerry_Enterprise_Server_for_IBM_Lotus_Domino and the problem is that
When I am sending email to other users outside, the reciver sees the full name not the email adress.
. I mean, when I am sending email to other people my details goes like Peter White/Director/Company not with my e-mail [email protected]
    Please..can anyone help me
    Best regards

Right, I may have misunderstood what you meant by download to desktop. When I click the attachment, I can either "Open with: Text Edit (drop-down menu)" or Save. But save doesn't save to desktop. I can "Open with: Microsoft Word" fine.
When I compose an email, I click attach. I select the file that is in a .docx format. It appears to load to the email correctly, and if I click that extension, it opens correctly in Word out of the pre-sent email. After being sent, it appears in god knows what format and wishes to open from TextEdit.
Was I doing something wrong when you wanted me to download to desktop?

  • If you delete files from your computer, BlackBerry Link deletes the file or collection from your device?

I found the below description from the help of BlackBerry Link, however i never get it work.
Any one know whats wrong or what i need to set?
About deleting music, pictures, videos, and documents?
After you sync your music, picture, video, or document files between your computer and your BlackBerrydevice, if you delete a file or a collection of files, the following actions occur:
If you delete files from your computer, BlackBerry Link deletes the file or collection from your device.
If you delete files from your device, BlackBerry Link doesn't delete the file or collection from your computer.
For information about how to delete a file from your device, tap the Help app on the home screen of your device.

    Hey hkfoolman,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
Go into BlackBerry Link and click on the BlackBerry and then click on Options.  Make sure you have Music, Pictures, Videos and Documents checkmarked for synchronization.  Once these are checked, try to remove the files.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
    Cheers.

  • Bluetooth sharing from other devices to blackberry

hi team, i kind of find it difficult transfering data through bluetooth from other devices to blackberry even though the two devices are paired. when doing the transfer from the blackberry to the other devices, it works but not the other way round, any solutions?
    waiting.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
    See this KB:
KB05409 Transfer a file using Bluetooth technology between two BlackBerry smartphones
Substitute, in the KB, the appropriate instructions for your other device in place of the KB section for the sending device. Unless you are on BB OS 6, do not skip the "Receive Using BT" step on the receiving BB...nothing will transfer if you do.
Good luck and let us know!

  • BTInternet e-mails being pushed to my Blackberry device only intermittently

I have been posting on BT Forums (https://community.bt.com/t5/Email/BT-Internet-e-mails-not-downloading-to-Blackberry/m-p/1302179#M228... about e-mails from my BTInternet address not being poushed through to my Blackberry device (9720), resulting in little advise and help. My approaches to BT have been escalated to the highest level within BT's complaints procedure - Executive Level Technical Complaints - again, with no help but an admission that Blackberry support has been withdrawn on the BT server and the BT/Yahoo server from which all e-mail addresses are being migrated to the BT server.
I would be interested to get some feedback from Blackberry on what they feel has happened here and if I am being fair in levelling all blame in the direction of BT.

"BlackBerry" will likely not comment here since this is a peer to peer user support forum.
However, I may be able to shed a little bit of light on this.  While I can't find anything similar to this for Yahoo! (likely because they haven't finished withdrawing all their support for BlackBerry) my bet is it is similar to what Microsoft has done with Hotmail/Live/Outlook.com accounts.  Like Microsoft, Yahoo! had special software in place to make email to the BlackBerry delivererd instantly.  They even had a special mail icon with their logo "Y" on it rather than just the standard Internet mail globe icon.  I would assume this is what Yahoo! is withdrawing support for.
If that is the case then all you should lose is the instant mail delivery and the account will be changed to one that gets polled at BIS intervals.  The BIS system will still poll your account and send mail to the BlackBerry.   You should still receive your mail but at 20 minute intervals (it can come sooner than that as BIS will poll more often if it finds mail again on the server.)
I read through the entire thread that you linked and your friend "Oliver" over there knows nothing about BlackBerry.  It's easy to blame BlackBerry for everything when so many people have migrated away.  However, people haven't migrated away because email didn't work.  That's the one thing BlackBerry has done (and still does) right.  BlackBerry can't control when companies such as Yahoo and Microsoft decide to withdraw certain support.

  • How do you sync iCloud (contact, calendar, task) to outlook 2011 for Mac? and how do you make seemless sync between iCloud to Outlook 2011 to Blackberry device or an iPad?

I have three device: Macbook Pro (OSX 10.7.5) for work; an iPad and a Blackberry for mobile. I used mail, iCal, and Address Book combine with mobileme (iCloud) to exchange data such as contact, calendar and task from my Mackbook Pro to my iPad but never to Blackberry. The problem is my boss was asking me to change to Outlook 2011 for Mac because some of the email that I sent from Mail did not appear in my client's Blackberry. So how do you sync iCloud (contact, calendar, task) to Outlook 2011 for Mac? and how do you make seemless sync between iCloud to Outlook 2011 to Blackberry device or an iPad?

  • Transfer old blackberry device data to new BlackBerry 10 device, without old blackberry device

    Hello,
I recently bought a new BlackBerry Q10, I had a BlackBerry Bold 9790 running on OS 7 before this and I had backed it up from BlackBerry Desktop Software. I had no knowledge that BlackBerry 10 devices don't work with BlackBerry Desktop Software, so I sold my Bold 9790 and then bought a Q10. I need to recover all the data of my old Bold 9790 to my Q10, but sadly Q10 doesn't work with BlackBerry Desktop Software. If I download BlackBerry Link it will ask me to connect my old device to transfer files.
So basically I need to transfer the backup file of my old phone to the new phone.
    Please help me out. Thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

First, the device has been out for over a year and a half.  BlackBerry has put the information out there.  I easily found the information below with a quick Google search that brought up this article, KB33322
While it hasn't yet been updated to reflect the latest update to Link, I made a few minor changes to the instructions to get to the same options in the new version of Link.
Media Files saved on the device internal memory will be transferred if you check the box for "Media files saved on internal memory."  Media files saved under Content Store on the old device will not.
    Here are the instructions:
Connect the BlackBerry 10 smartphone to the computer using the USB cable.
At the left side of the BlackBerry Link screen, click name of the BlackBerry 10 smartphone.
Select Restore Device > Legacy Device Backup Files.
    Select the desired backup file.
Select the data to restore to the BlackBerry 10 smartphone. To restore all supported data, select the Restore all data check box.  To choose the data to restore select Custom Restore.
Note: For a description of the BlackBerry smartphone databases, refer to KB03974.
    Click Restore.

  • Not executed Commands from Testprograms written in Labview communicating over GPIB

    Hello
Sometimes I have the problem that the commands sent from testprograms written in Labview aren't executed from the devices
(for example a counter or a power supply).
An extension of the the wait time between Write and Read couldn't solve the problem (We use VISA-VIs or the Manufacturers-VIs).
First workaround is to send the command again.
Somebody else ever had the same problems to deal with? What did you do?
    Many thanks
    Best Regards
    Silvio

Usually stuff like this is caused by incomplete understanding of communications using the GPIB bus (either by the programmer OR by the supplier of the drivers - the latter reason being why I almost always write my own drivers).
Many times, an instrument fails to respond in what we considre a "timely" manner - a prime example is an instrument that takes several seconds to complete a measurement.  Many times, instruments don't queue commands, so if you send a command to an instrument while it is still processing a previous command, it won't be aware of the command you just sent, and you will get a timeout.  In this case, it's best to make the VISA timeout something like 5000 ms and - if your instrument accepts the command - use *OPC? to turn your command into a query.  This way, your application always waits for a response - usually a "1" - from the instrument being commanded before sending the next command.

    Hi
I just got this message yesterday: Your Emitac Mobile Solutions LLC email service is deactivated, Email messages are no longer being sent to your Blackberry device.
And since then, i havent being able to set up more than one email and i subscribed for 4.

    What should i do?
    Thank you

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
From your post, I cannot quite tell if you did all of this, in exactly this way. Hence, with a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
    2) Delete and Resend Service Books
KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
    3) Reboot
With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try deleting and re-adding your configurations for the affected email accounts. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.
    Good luck!
