Extended Withholding u2013 Various 1099 Reports

Hi,
We have configured our system for extending withholding tax. We use Generic Withholding Tax Reporting for Country US (Transaction:  S_P00_07000134, Program:  RFIDYYWT).
We find that the program only supports 1099 MISC, 1099 G, 1099 INT process types. The client wants to get 1099 u2013 DIV forms also from SAP.
Is there a provision to generate 1099 DIV forms from standard SAP system for country version US. (Version ECC 6.0)u201D
Kindly Help me out regarding this.
Thanks
Rajini M

Hi Mauri,
Thanks for your reply. I will go over the note. But we are still in test enviornment and can copy the client. I wanted to be sure that this issue is being caused by non migrating of the data only and if so, if we copy the client then we should be ok to re-import the changes after doing the data migration.
Please let me know if this approch looks ok and what are the steps to do the data migration. Can you also let me know that this data migration and re-importing the transports will bring back both 1099 and 1042 settings?
I really appreciate your help.
Thanks,
Shalu

  • 1099 Report for OTV - Classic Withholding Tax

    Hello Members,
We run on SAP ERP 6.0 EHP6 and use the classic withholding tax functionality.
Wondering what the rest of the world with classic setup is using for 1099-MISC reporting for one time vendors ?
Currently we follow a cumbersome process of pulling FBL1N report (which doesn't have otv address information), and then FCHN to get vendor address details. With this we change a vendor and update the master data and payment document withholding information in QAS to print the paper form from QAS.
I read a few of the forums and the idea I get is, if the vendor is to be 1099 reported, it should be a standard vendor.
    Questions:
    1) Any standard functionality available within classic setup for 1099 MISC reporting of OTV ?
    2) Does using extended functionality make OTV reporting any better
    3) Any best practices that you are following which you think is better than ours ?

  • 1099 Reports(US Withholding tax)

    Hi,
Plz help me how to Configure
    1099 Reports(US Withholding tax)
    Regards,
    Padma

    Padma,
Configuring 1099 Reporting for US in SAP is pretty much a standard process. However, not everyone I know chooses to use the standard reporting tool inside SAP to generate the extracts that are to be sent to the US Tax Authorities (IRS) for tax reporting purposes.
Since you've not mentioned exactly which format for 1099 it is that you're looking for, I'll assume you are looking for 1099MISC.
Rather than giving you all the steps here, I'll point you to an OSS Note (363650 - Withholding Tax Configuration for 1099MISC). This Note contains the customizing steps for extended withholding tax configuration for US (1099 Reporting).
Of course, once you're done with the config, you'll want to create the tax return extracts. Depending on which version of SAP, you might want to use program RFW1099M (if you're on a version below 4.7) or RFIDYYWT (if you're using version 4.7 or anything above).
This is the reporting tool for generic withholding tax, which SAP recommends to be used for 4.7 and above.
However, be sure to apply all the outstanding OSS Notes applicable for this report, as there are legal changes (which are announced by IRS from time to time) that need to be updated into the SAP system each year.
There are other components involved, like SAPScript form, DMEE engine config for the tax report output, etc. which I'll let you explore on your own.
    Happy Learning!
P.S.: Just to get you started in your search for 1099INT, you can start with Note 561568 (1099INT Reporting).
Remember to assign points if found useful.

  • Extended Withholding Tax - 1099 listings

    Hi Folks,
We are not able to get the output data for S_ALR_87012143 (1099 Listings) when extended withholding tax is configured.
This transaction works fine for classic withholding tax.
We also have no problem with 1099-MISC for EWT.
Is there any program to be run or an OSS note to be implemented inorder to get the output for 1099 listings for EWT.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Venkat

What was the t code that you found? We're having a similar problem.

  • Wrongly Activated Extended Withholding tax before data conversion

    Hi all,
In 1099 Reporting for US, I have activated Extended Withholding Tax before conversion of data from Classical to Extended Withholding Tax. I have done this in Development system with transport request.
If anybody has come across similar situation, pl help me with your valuable inputs.
    1. Will I be able to deactivate the extended withholding tax and do the data conversion and activate again.
    2. If not, what will be the consequences of not doing the data conversion of existing data.
Kindly help me to come out of this crisis.
    Thanks in advance.
    San.

    Hi,
    Yes it will be possible.
I haven't really faced this situation in EWT, but in another similar migration.
I do not know the extent of customisation you did for EWT or whether the documents you posted after activating did get posted in the EWT area.
The only place I think you may face will be in the migration itself, where these documents may give you errors is in the actual data migration step.  But there would be some solution for that.
You need to see what options you have.  Can you let this situation continue?  Was this migration not a prep for doing the migration in production or just a test?  If not then you will need to do something.  This should have no impact on any migration you plan for the other systems (Quality/Production) in the landscape.
You can log in an OSS message just in case.
    Cheers...

  • 1099 report- program RFTW0010/RFTW0020

    Hello All
I am facing some issues with the 1099 reporting. We have many vendors that were setup incorrectly as 1099 vendors. A lot of documents have been posted to them. I deleted the withholding tax information and ran the correction program RFTW0010 and then ran the 1099 report S_P00_07000134 - Generic Withholding Tax Reporting  but this report still shows all the documents already posted.
Looks like the only way for me to fix this, is to go and remove the withholding tax information from each line. This is not possible. Is there a solution for this? what is the use of these programs? they only update the with WITH_TAX tables and fix a vendor going forward right?
Does SAP not have a solution for this?
When do I run  the program RFTW0010 vs RFTW0020.

    Hi,
The 2 reports mentioned by you viz., RFTW0010/RFTW0020 are to be used when you are changing the vendor master and then wants to correct the line items posted to be in sink with the changed vendor master.
I guess, in your instant case also, the report RFTW0020 is relevant, is you have changed the code and report RFTW0010 is relevant is you have changed the WT Type.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to exempt vendor from 1099 reporting

    Hi All,
On the vendor master, Accounting information tab, we have fields "Exemption number,Valid until and exemption authority" with respect to withholding tax. As per my understanding if we enter these fields, then that particular vendor should not be considered for 1099. However these fields are not having any impact on my 1099 reports. I am running standard report S_ALR_87012143 for validation. Can anyone guide me the relevance of these fields and how to use them correctly in business scenario? Also let me know how to exempt a vendor from 1099 reporting.

Hi - The exemtion number is entered so that the system does not withhold tax amount (eg: 30% or so) when the payment is made. I think the vendor will still appear on the 1099 report. You can use a different Withholding Tax type for these vendors and exclude the WT type when you run the 1099s.

  • 1099 Reporting doubts

    Hi all,
I am doing 1099 coniguration for an US Company. I have the following doubts. Pl help me with your inputs.
    1. What is to be taken as reporting base for 1099 - Invoice or payment (withholding tax type for invoice posting or payment posting)
    2. How will the Vendor who gives tax exemption certificate be reflected in the Report.
    Thanks
    Sri.

    Hi,
To flag a vendor in SAP as a 1099 vendor, two fields need to be populated.
    1. On the Control screen of the vendor master, populate either "Tax Code 1" field with his social security number if his social security number is his tax id. or "Tax Code 2" field with his corporate tax id. if he has been issued a corporate tax id. Input either of the two in their correct format i.e. social security as xxx-xx-xxxx or corporate id as xx-xxxxxxx.
    2. On the Accounting Info. screen, populate the "W.tax code" field under the "Withholding Tax" box with the value "07" if it is a US vendor or "42" if it is a foreign vendor.
These are the two fields that specify a vendor as being a 1099 vendor.
Any posts done before this changes were implemented will not show on 1099.
You will need to run program RFWT0020 to flag 1099 items retroactively.
...and/or you can change the "Document Change rules" for BSEG-QSSHB and BESG-QSSKZ for account type "K" so that you can change the Withholding tax code after the line item has been cleared (i.e. after entering the required information in the vendor master record as the user above has recommended) (Refer to OSS Note: 363650).
But if you use MIRO to post invoices, you might want to look at Note 482245 too...
In SAP v40b, the new 1099 report is RFW1099M. It is a neat report since it merges all the three reports that are listed in the AP info system under the withholding tax.

  • Migration from Withholding Tax ( Classic ) to Extended Withholding Tax

    Dear All,
I am doing the Migration from Withholding Tax ( Classic ) to Extended Withholding Tax, I am getting the following error.
I made all the customization and done the necessary process flow steps.
Now I am doing the last transaction i.e. Migration Programme ( J1INMIG )
I am getting the following error. i.e.
Health Check not carried out or health check has reported errors....
    Message no. 8I775
    Diagnosis
Before migration of data is carried out, it is advisable to carry out the integrity of customizing in both SAP ECC and CIN.
It appears that either the health check is not carried out, in which case it can be run using transaction j1inhc, or the  health check has reported errors.
    Procedure
Run health check program if not already run.
Resolve the errors reported in customizing and re run the health check.
In case you do not wish to use health check tool, manually update the field 'STATUS'as 'X'  for the company code.
So I checked in Health Check ( J1INHC ). Here All are showing the Green Status.
EXCEPT THE FOLLOWING IS IN YELLOW STATUS .
34            Invoice with Payment Type tax code  created in classic  cannot be executed after switching to EWT.

I noticed that because the above documents are having the openitems and down payments. And If I clear the these documents it is becoming Green Status.
It means now my Health Check is correct, Because all are showing the Green status.
    Now If I run the Migration Programme ( ( J1INMIG )
IT IS NOT EXECUTING. IT IS GIVING THE MESSAGE THAT NO DOCUMENTS FOUND.
Kindly advise I don't understand the above Migration programme execution and the error details.

    Hi All,
Nobody has not answered my issue.
Otherwise anybody can explain in detail about " MIGRATION PROGRAMME " ( J1INMIG ).
I want details about this last T.Code only i.e. J1INMIG and remaining all the necessary steps I completed.
An early reply will be highly appriciated.

  • Extended withholding tax deduction from customer credit

    hi all
configured the extended withholding tax for deducting tds from customer credit line items.
deduction is required only after the amount accumulation 2500/- (this is also configured)
1.is the recipient type and country is not required for the customer tds..? (it is not visible in the customer master, but is in vendor master)
2.in the amount accumulation for 2500/- consider the following scenario.
       >>first bill amount 2450/- (no tax deduction)
       >>second bill for Rs.100/- from which i need to deduct tax for 2550/-, since Rs.100 is not enough to deduct 10% tax from tax base 2550.00 it is throwing error.
    pls help
    with best regards,
    sallu c.mathew

    Hi Ajeesh,
As already mentionned in standardf help from sap, you use J1INCUST which is a report to record the with. tax certificates sent to you by your clients. In doing so, the system clears the wi. tax to a G/L account that records how much tax your customers have withheld on your behalf, known as the customer tax creditable account. You can offset this tax against your income tax payable at year-end.
And you run the report immediately you receive a certificate from a customer.
Then system creates an accounting document to transfer the withholding tax from the G/L account for the withholding tax deducted by your customers to the customer tax creditable account.
    Best regards,
    Tarek

  • Extended Withholding Tax - Minimum Amount

    Dear SAP Expert,
In our setup we have extended withholding tax incoming payment for outgoing invoices.
The scenario is if invoice base amount is less than 300 EGP (local curreny) then withholding tax information should not capture invoice document.
I setup minimum based amount on withholding tax type and withholding tax codes level but still when user post outgoing invoices WHT information is captured in FI document.
Because of above issue automatic clearing (F.13) is not happening and we are getting error message like "Items with withholding tax code for customer subject to withholding tax"

  • S_pl0_09000447- can i use this for Extended Withholding Tax

    Dear Gurus,
In my compoany im using Extended Withholding Tax for India, and can i use the Report S_PL0_09000447 - Withholding tax report for the vendor.
Kindly Advice whether can i use this report for EWT or not.
if yes how to use it.
    Regards
    karthik

    Hi,
On the analysis,  the system expects an entry in the T059Q table with
    code as XX.
The reason being in the extended withholding tax we use multiple
witholding tax codes and these entries are stored in the table
with_item. And in BSEG we populate the field withholding tax code i.e.
BSEG-QSSKZ  with the value 'XX'. In classical withholding tax we used to
store the code directly which is not possible with Extended withholding
    tax.
As the field BSEG-QSSKZ refers to the values in the table T059Q-QSSKZ
the entry 'XX" needed in this table for the corresponding country of the
company code to maintain the correct relationship and consistent
    database information.
Hence for the statistical purpose and for the internal calculations we
need an entry in the table T059Q. Could you please maintain this code
i.e. 'XX' also in the table T059Q in a test system? Then retest your issue.
    This should resolve your issue.
    Kind Regards,
    Vanessa.

  • Different fiscal year for extended withholding tax

    Hi All SAP Gurus,
I have configured the extended withholding tax as per the Indian requirement. But I am unable to meet the following to requirement as per client's need. Can anybody help me out please?
    1) My client is following Calander year ( Jan to Dec.) for Global ledger and it is assinged to Company code Global setting. For Local reporting in India, we are using Non-leading ledger L1 and fiscal year V3 ( April to march) is assignd to it.Now the problem comes when we perform the TDS process.
    a) We assigned the number range etc. for Internal challan number and TDS certificate. When we run J1INCHLN and J1INCERT, system is picking the number as per the calalnder year and not as per the April to march fiscal yearThis creates problem for the priod of next year (say jan to march 2010).Can anybody worked on such a senario. Please help me out.
    b) Second requirement is client wants lower rate deduction of TDS. I really don,t know much but I wonder that how we can set lower rate deducation in SAP as it is linked to the total Invoice amount and from and to period. I could not find anything in the vendor master where we can assign period as well as total turnover amount for lower dedcution.
    Please helpme out.
    Thnaks in advance.

    Hi, Ekta
For lower deduction of Tax you will have to do the following Config:
1.In SPRO Extended WTD --> Basic Settings --> Define Reasons for Exemption:
    Reason for exemption
Indicator used to classify different types of exemption from liability
    to a particular withholding tax.
Enter Text field such as Concessional Rate of Vendor Name
2.Extended WTD --> Calculation --> India --> Settings for Annual Returns --> Assign Exemption Reasons to Withholding Tax Codes:
Mantain Country, WTH Tax Type, WTH Tax, Exemption reason creatd above.
    3. In the vendor Master enter the following details:
Exemtion Number - Certificate no. recd.from Income Tax dept.specifying reduced rate of TDS
    Exemption % : 25
Exemption Reason: One created by you.
    Exemption From Date:
    Exe,ption To Date:
This should resolve part of your issue.
    Thank You.

  • Duplicate invoices in 1099 report

    Hello All
When I run the S_P00_07000134 - Generic Withholding Tax Reporting  report I am seeing invoices show up twice for a vendor. This vendor had its tax region code changed from IL to NY and now I see the amounts showing up once under IL and again under NY which is making my total double.
Did anyone face this issue? How do I fix it? I already ran the correction program

    Hi,
Vendor address and withholding tax code should be maintained as per the nature of the vendor. 1099 Vendors will be classified based on Vendor Master containing fields (Tax Number 1 or 2 and Withholding Tax Code). In US a taxpayer identification number (TIN) uniquely identifies recipients whose income is connected with a trade or business. In this context please note that if the business does not know the TIN of the vendor then they can request it from the IRS (internal Revenue Services which is a regulatory body ) using form W-9, Request for Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification. With this form, the vendor also certifies to the company that the number furnished is correct. The taxpayer identification number is a social security number (SSN) and is filled up in Tax number 1 field of Account control screen of vendor master if the vendor concerned is an individual, and an employer identification number (EIN) for corporate in all other cases and is filled up in Tax number 2 field of account control screen of vendor master.
Now the question remains which all vendors actually qualify under 1099 category? Generally that would be a vendor of goods and /or services that is not incorporated (such as a landlord, independent contractor) to whom your business has made payments greater than $600 (total, for the applicable tax year). In addition, gross proceeds to attorneys and cash payments for fish and fishing boat proceeds and some other specified categories of payments are reportable. If your vendor is a 1099 vendor you have to issue them (and report to the IRS) a separate 1099 slip. It applies primarily to vendors who provide "services" and excludes corporations, unless the service provided is for medical or health care services or attorneys fees. Vendors who are service providers and are not incorporated should therefore indicate that they are 1099 vendors and provide the requested information. The sole purpose of this 1099 reporting is to ensure that the IRS gets income information from an independent contractor and they do not evade paying taxes. The IRS is apparently tracking certain business transactions as well, such as gross attorney proceeds and payments for fish and fishing boat proceeds.

  • RFIDYYWT / 1099 reporting / include doc type AB?

We are preparing to use SAP's 1099 Misc reporting functionality for the 2011 tax year, and have managed to resolve most issues. However, we can't figure out how to get miscellaneous journal entries (doc type AB) included in the reporting. I've confirmed that the line items in BSEG have the appropriate withholding tax code (07), but when I run RFIDYYWT, the 'AB' documents aren't being included.
Can/should AB documents be included in 1099 reporting? And if so, what do we need to do to ensure that they get pulled in?
    Thanks in advance!
    Allison

    Hello Allison,
Please review the following documentation on the field reporting period.
    Field ; Reporting period
    Posting date in the document
Date which is used when entering the document in Financial Accounting
    or Controlling.
    Use
The fiscal year and the period for which an update of the accounts
specified in the document or cost elements is made, are derived
    from the posting date.
When entering documents, the system checks whether the posting date
entered is allowed by means of the posting period permitted.
    Note
The posting date can differ from both the entry date (day of entry
into the system) and the document date
(day of creation of the original document).
The selection criterion in RFIDYYWT is the posting date
(not the clearing date). This is entered in the 'reporting period' field.
    Consider the following example:
-invoice document posted in 2004 -payment document posted in 2005
    1. if you select period 20010, only the invoice will be reported
    2. if you select period 2011, only the payment will be reported
This may cause confusio if the calculation of the w/h tax does not occur
within the posting period selected (the calculation of w/h tax depends
on your settings: it could be w/h tax at time of invoice or at time of
    payment).
Please, understand that mainly based on the selection criteria and
the output defined the document will be selected or not.
Currently, documents are getting selected based on the reporting date.
The reporting date is the posting date in the document, that means, the
date which is used when entering the document in financial accounting
