Extent to which IPv6 is supported in CF8/9/10?

The suits have indicated that our DMZ will be "fully IPv6-compliant" (their words, not mine) by early next calendar year. After asking a couple of questions, I believe they think that means that the servers in the DMZ will be running in a mode where all network addressing is using IPv6 and IPv4 will be disabled.
I'm trying to figure out what that means in terms of our CF servers and CF applications there. From looking at some of the CF docs and from experience, I know there is some support for IPv6 within at least CF8 and later, but I am also seeing indications that the support may not currently be complete.
Can someone who has been down this road or from within the Adobe CF team comment on the following:
1. Can anything within the CF Administrator where hostnames are used support IPv6 addresses in the same way it currently supports IPv4 addresses? I know for instance that IPv6 addresses work in specifying debugging IPs, but what about JDBC connections, mailserver connections, etc.?
2. Do all CFML tags and their CFSCRIPT equivalents completely support IPv6? For instance, does CFHTTP work if the URL is specified with an IPv6 address rather than a hostname?
3. Do all CFML functions support IPv6? A couple of examples would include IsValid("url", address-in-ipv6-format), IsValid("email", user@address-in-ipv6-format), the XML validation functions which issue http requests in order to retrieve schemas.
I've done a bit of checking, and at leas the preliminary indication I have right based on that testing is that IsValid("url", address) does not yet support it. All three of the following should be equivalent:
IsValid("url", "https://fastweb.inel.gov/")
IsValid("url", "https://204.134.140.60/")
IsValid("url", "https://[2002:CC86:8C3C:0:0:0:0:0/]")
Only the first two return an indication of validity, the third (and all other equivalent versions of the IPv6 address) indicates it is not valid, but it really should be.
At any rate, can anyone shed any further light on answers to those questions above or other IPv6-related areas within ColdFusion?
Thanks in advance.

Could always just try it? I'd ignore the isValid() function, doesn't even work on email addresses; it's just a regex, nothing to do with networking support.

iTunes U video files no longer work on my computer since i update to Mavericks. The following message appears on the screen "This movie requires QuickTime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes." I followed a tutorial that suggested to go to Applications/iTunes/Get Info and change to 32 bit. Now my iTunes does not open at all, it says it requires 64 bit. I am a bit confused and disappointed. What should I do to get it fixed? Buy a new MacBook?

Marcello, I am having the same problem.  When following the advice of many in the community to start iTunes in 32-bit mode, I get the following error after I have done so:
I am running 10.9.2 on a mac mini.
I am hoping this will be fixed or at least a solid answer could be given that iTunes will no longer support certain types of media going foward.

If you purchased Lion for your iMac, just log into the Mac App Store from your MacBook using the Apple ID under which you purchased Lion and go to the Purchases page. You will be able to download and install Lion there.
searching the internet i found a link to upgrtade to 10.7
The only place you get get Lion is from the Mac App Store. If you found some other site, that was an illegal copy and almost certainly tied to someone else's Apple ID and hence unusable by you. If the link was just to the Mac App Store, see above.
As to the problem with synchronization to iCloud, that's not a 10.6 question, so I'd suggest you take up that specific issue in either the Lion or iCloud forums, providing full details, and someone there can probably help you sort things out.
    Regards.

  • ITunes and Quicktime - Movie requires Quicktime which is not supported

    Ok.
Issue is:  Movies and TV shows bought thru iTunes (10.5.1) on Lion (10.7.2) generate an error at time of playback.  Error is 'This movie requires QuickTime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes."
Help documents state to switch to 32 bit mode (which works).
    Here's what I've found out:
Called Apple, couldn't figure out what the issue is.  Did the standard system/disk checks/repairs/permission repairs to no avail.  Created a new user to download the video to try and play it.. The user was able to stream the video correctly.
I can play the videos IF I access them directly with QuickTime (and it doesn't need the 32 bit flag checked).  So, I copied my library files for iTunes over to the new account and tried again (before doing a file by file comparison of both user accounts) to see if maybe the size of the library I have might be an issue.
Logged into the other account and it now had the issue playing the TV show.
But, I don't consider that a valid test because I should have copied the file into it's existing library before replacing it to check and see if there's an issue with the file in iTune.
which led me to an interesting solution.. If I find the file on the drive (my Library files and all videos are on a NAS server, btw) in Finder then tell iTunes to remove the video from iTunes but not delete the file, I can drag and drop the file back into iTunes and it plays fine.
So, no need to switch to 32 bit mode, just have to delete the video from iTunes (but not the drive) then drag and drop it back into iTunes.
It sounds like, for some systems, something isn't being toggled in the iTunes library or the File when it's added to iTunes via the downloader that allows iTunes to recognize the type of playback version required.  By deleting the reference in the library then manually adding it back in, the issue is bypassed and the videos are playable again.
    I have a headache now...  ;D

Try reinstalling QuickTime Player, You can download it directly from Apple here -> http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
If that doesn't work, try reinstalling iTunes which should also reinstall QuickTime Player.

  • This movie requires QuickTime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes.

I know many people are also having this problem and some solved the issue by running the app in 32 bit mode. Unfortunately, when I do that, iTunes warns me that I have to open the application in 64 bits.
For those of you who don't know about the problem, here is the issue. When I try to play a lecture video in iTunes U, application prompts this error message and does not play the video no matter what.
This movie requires QuickTime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes.

Delete the content and download it again. If you've moved the iTunes library to a secondary volume, move it back to your home folder.

It can be that you have an old version of Photoshop Elements and a new camera.

Sorry, I am on a MAC. I downloaded the link you provided and it's giving the same error message as above. Running CS5.
The error message you gave is from Camera Raw. I thought you said that DNG Converter didn't work?
The link I gave you is an article on getting your raw files to open in Camera Raw. Did you read it? I lazily gave you the link because this is one of the most common problems in this forum, and I get tired of saying the same thing over and over again. I could break it down for your specific case, but I was hoping you could read through the article and work it out for yourself.
    But, here goes:
Your cameras are newer than your raw converter, so it won't understand them.
CS5 comes with Camera Raw 6, which can only be upgraded as far as 6.7.1. You can find out which version of Camera Raw you are running in three ways: in the settings title bar (Cmd-K), in the plug-in title bar (press F to start/stop full-screen mode to reveal the title bar), or Photoshop's Help menu (About Plug-ins).
Downloading raw files from newer Nikon cameras with old versions of Nikon Transfer will actually make them unreadable in Adobe software. They can be fixed with a free utility. Again, it's all in the linked article. You should be using up-to-date Nikon Transfer, or Adobe Photodownloader to avoid this problem.
All being well, you have good raw files on your computer. You can convert them to dng using Adobe DNG Converter. IF you are on OSX Leopard or Snow Leopard, you CAN'T use the latest version, because Adobe stopped support. But, if you ARE on a later OSX, you can download DNG Converter 8.6.
DNG Converter is designed to convert FOLDERS of raw files at a time. You select a folder of raw files, and tell it to create DNG copies. BUT, you have to set up the converter before you start using it...
If you load up DNG Converter, you'll notice a button labelled "Change Preferences". Clicking this, you'll see the first option is "Compatibility". Here, you must select the appropriate setting for the version of Camera Raw you HAVE (see above). If you can't work this out, just pick "Camera Raw 5.4 and later". THEN pick a folder of raw files and convert them to DNGs.
All the above is already in the article, but I gave you a personalised response. If you still can't get it to work, please give us more than one sentence. Tell us exactly what you tried, and describe exactly what happened. Which version of OSX you're running, what device and software you downloaded your raw files with, how you used DNG Converter, and so on.
I really should be in bed.

Iam using a data source which does not support delta. In such a scenario what should i do For subsequent extractions. Will i have to opt for full load every time, if so then how will the double data records be treated. Pls help me out of this situation. In RSA6 if i click on the data source there i can find a check box for enabling delta , but again that is greyed out. If i want to change that what steps should i follow.
All the helpfull answers and solutions would be thanked by assigning full points.

Can you give me the data source name please.
If it is a standard Business Content Datasource and it does not support delta(or delta is not enabled) then you dont have any choice to modify the standard Datasources. In such cases you can create a Generic DS same as Standard DS and enable delta.
    Hope this helps.
