Extra Cells & Merged Columns in my report --- Urgent

Hi,
I am calling excel report from forms 10g.
My excel report has extra blank cells & Some of the columns are merged.
Can anyone help me to sort this issue
I had given DEFORMAT=SPREADSHEET.
If i give DEFORMAT=EXTENDEDSPREADSHEET, my excel reports not coming properly..It is filled with html data..

when downloading into xlsThat format doesn't exist by default. Go to the link I provided:
"SPREADSHEET (Command line only) The report output is sent to *an HTML file* that can be directly opened with Microsoft Excel 2000."
You can try DELIMITED or DELIMITEDDATA, which gives you a csv file.

Can any one please tell me how to hide a column in oralce matrix report. Its a summary column for the matrix report which appears next to the cell values. For example
Manufacturer
Brand
SubBrand1 SubBrand2 Brand Total Manufacturer Total
Week $ Sales $ Sales Total $ Sales Total $ Sales
This is a case where,the cell value is the $ sales for the SubBrand for the week. And it gets total at each brand level and each Manufacturer level. The requrement is if there is only one SubBrand for a Brand then the Brand total should not appear on the report. Similarly if there is one Brand for a Manufacturer, then the total at Manufacturer level should not appear . The point is not only it should dissapear but the frame should srink to make it fell that there is no totaling going on at those two levels. If the fileds just remains blank then the report looks odd. So the gap should be srinked as well. How to do it . This is very urgent . Please help me out.

ALV Sort with cell merge

Please help!
When i run an ALV report in foreground, there is cell-merge when a column is sorted.
However, when the ALV run @ background, why the cell-merge cannot work ? All data is listed, rather than is summarized into a block for all rows with the same field content.

Not able to see the result in particular column of BPC report

Dear All,
I have problem in one of the BPC report where I am not able to see the result into one column but rest of the users are able to see the result for same column in same report without any issues.
Generally, I used this report frequently but having such problem from last few days. Excel has created any logs which I need to clear? Please advice.

In the report what type of data you are trying to check in that column. can you please brief about report.
And also please check the excel cell format (right click and check it is a numeric or character), which may help to resolve this issue.

How to resize column width in report?

hi all,
i read somewhere here that in order to resize column width in a report, you need to go to report attributes, then edit the column you wish to resize and then go to the CSS Style and place something like "width=600px". while this works very well in Internet Explorer, it somehow has no effect in Firefox 3.0. is there a way to make it work both browsers?

Hi,
Sorry, I misunderstood. There are several methods you could use:
1 - Use the span tags around the data itself - this would require adding the tags into the sql statement itself
2 - Use javascript to set the column widths by adding a style to the TD tags for each cell
3 - Create a new Report Template and use COL tags immediately after the TABLE tag in the Before Rows section to specify the widths of all columns
Option 3 may be the easiest?

CO-PA column formula in report painter

Sorry about previously explanation!
In KE34, when define a form, we need several columns with a formula that is a combination between cells.
Rows:
- Row 1: Revenue (Y001)
- Row 2: Total cost (Y002)
- Row 3: Wages cost (Y003)
- Row 4: Depreciation cost (Y004)
- Row 5: ...
Columns:
- Column 1: Plan - value (X001)
- column 2: Plan - % (X002)= Cost / revenue * 100
for example: Cell Z001 (interaction between row 2 and column 2) = Y002/Y001 * 100%
Cell Z002 (interaction between row 3 and column 2) = Y003/Y001 * 100%
How I can set formula for column 2?
I tried to define formula for each cell in column 2. It worked, but it takes too much time cause the report includes 3 column like column 2; and about 20 rows -> 3*20 cells need to define for each report like this???
Is there any tool or formula variable i should use instead?

Hi,
there is no need to define the formula for each cell.
Mark cell 1/1 (Plan revenue) Have no other cells marked. --> this is cell Z001
Define column 2 formula as: Column 1 / cell Z001
The formular will for line X take the plan value from line X and divide it by the plan value from line 1.
I have lots of reports where I use this

Dynamic action in column of classic report

Good day master!
Hi im new in apex,, so im dynamic ondering if its posible to create a dynamic action in the column of classic report in apex?
i'm trying but its not working my problem goes like this..
i have a classic report stock_replenish
columns
item_code
price
supplier_name
item_code is a pop-up loved by sql
what i want to do is when the user choose a item_code it will also return the price and supplier_name
i can do that in apex form but i dont know if iits posible to clasic report?

Dynamic action on report columns is possible but not as straigth forward as on items.
First you can't select "report colum" as selection type for the dynamic action. Use jQuery Selector instead.

I prefer to use something like[name='f01'].
Use the developer tools of your browser to see the name of your report column.
Because you can't submit a single report cell value with the action "Set value".
You have to use a combination of a action "Execute javascript" and a ondemand process.
The javascript code is something like

x01 refers to apex_application.g_x01

The succes option defines a function that is executed upon succefull completion of the ondemand process.
The ondemand process returns a json object. Which we can refer to in the javascript function with pData.
In our ondemand process we are defining the json object as having to properties.
d and r . d is the display value and r is the id of the element to be set.

Filter Data with Merged and non merged columns in one

Hi there,
I have an excel spreadsheet that has got merged and non merged columns. What I want to be able to do is, filter a row that has got merged column and non merged columns. But when I filter it only takes the first line, rather than the merged and non merged
columns.
With this data I have one merged column which spans 6 rows, and then in the same row I have 6 rows with different points in, and what I want to do is filter my list, but be able to see the merged coloum aswell as the 6 points.
Any ideas are much appriciated.

You cannot filter across a row - so I have assumed that what you mean is that some cells in columns are merged to serve as the headers, and the data is in the came columns but in the row(s) below the header. If this is incorrect, ignore this post.
For this example, I have assumed E to J are the column of data and merged cells, column K is free, and the first merged header is in row 1:
In K1, enter
=E1
in K2, enter
=IF(COUNTA(E2:J2)=1,E2,K1)
and copy down. Then filter based on column K, and it will show the headers and the data for the selected header value.

Adding custom column to a report

I'm a newbie using APEX 2.1 on Oracle XE.
I've created a simple page with a report which displays the list of rows in a table. I'd like to add an extra column to this report with an "Edit" button for each row. (So I can obviously edit individual rows in a separate window) But I can't see any way to alter the report output to be able to add extra columns.
Have I approached this the wrong way ? (NOTE: I don't want to edit the row in-situ in the table)

Try using the Form Wizard to create your pages. If you select the "Form on a Table with Report". It will for the most part do all the work for you. Then you just cleanup the UI to look the way you want it too.

Filtering merged and non merged columns

As you have found, (vertical) merging and filtering do not go together. The value of a merged area only "lives" in the top left cell of the area, the other cells are blank.
I would unmerge the cells and fill the values down into the blank cells. You should then be able to filter normally.

No cell merge possible with adf table?

i know that there is no cell merge possible with adf table.
however i read that with trinidad table it's possible.
my table has data like this:
d1 - tommy - 5
d1 - tommy - 7
d2 - burpy - 3
d2 - burpy - 4
d2 - tom - 7
now i have to merge first column (dog id) where id is same -
d1 - tommy - 5
--- - tommy - 7
d2 - burpy - 3
--- - burpy - 4
--- - tom - 7
i am creating this dog table thru a data control on jspx page.
can anyone suggest some help?
or will i have to use html table for it? i really want to avoid html.
