Extraction from SAP ECC to SAP BI

What are the steps for Extraction from SAP ECC to SAP BI? Thanks.

Hi,
we have two types of extractions 1) Application specific 2)cross application
under applicatin specific -->we have customer genenrated and business content extractions
under customer generated means LIS, CO-PA, FI-SL(i.e no ready made data source in business content so we have to generate datasource)
Business content means there is ready made business content datasource so we can use it
LIS,LO --> when ever we go for extracting logistics informatin

Generic extraction-->table, view, infoset query, function module
Generic extractors are of 3 types:
1. Based on table/view
2. Based on Infoset Query
3. Based on Function module
GenericSteps
Log on sap R/3.
Step 1. create a table or view for generic extraction in se11.
Step 2. Goto  t-code RSO2
Step 3. Here u have to decide whether to extract transaction data or master data attributes or texts.
Step 4. suppose if u have opted for transaction data, then give name in the column ex:ztd_m(data source name)
Step 5. select create button, this will take u to another screen.
Step 6. Here u have to decide from which application component u r extacting data.Ex: SD,MM,..
Step 7. in this screen u have to fill short disciption, medium, long( these r mandatory).
Step 8. then U have to Table name or view name which u have created in se11.
Step 9. I f u want to maintain generic delta then u can select generic delta in top left hand side corner.
Step 10. in next screen u have to give some field which is primary key.
step 11. here u to specify whether time stamp or cal day or numeric pointer depending on u r requirement.
step 12. then u have to specify  whether new status for changed records or additive delta.
If u choose additive delta ,then u have to load data to infocube or ods object.
If u choose new status for changed records, then u to load data  to ods object only.
Step 13. then save it.
Step 14. then logon to sap bw ,then replicate the data source then as usuall.

  • Data load from SAP ECC to SAP BI

    Hello Gurus and Experts
I am new to BI and I m almost struggling to find a step by step process in loading data from SAP ECC to SAP BI through generic extractors from VBAK. The Problem is I can create an Infopackage for full update and loaded the records.(Lets say Upto this step 100 records are moved to PSA)
Then I create a sale order in ECC which is a new record that has to be transfered as delta record.
    Now my questions are:
Am I correct if I moved the initial records into PSA with Full Mode InfoPackage?
Should I create another infopackage for delta records with Delta Mode or to change the update mode of the infopackage created earlier for Full Update mode?
Should I create a new infopackage every time to load the delta records?
Does separate DTP has to be created for Full and Delta updates?
Please dont be frustrated if my questions are pointless or childish
I would be glad if someone demonstrate the solutions in steps
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi Ram,
I have followed all the steps mentioned by you, yet something is lagging in my end.
Let me lists the steps done by me and please correct me if i am wrong anywhere.
    1. RSO2 in ECC..
    2. Created DS with short, med and long names in SD application component for VBAK with all the fields unchecked in hide selection except document number, time of document, document date, net
value of the document and document currency.
    3. mentioned a numeric pointer as Document number for delta and used new status for changed records.
    3. saved the datasource. checked the newly created ds using the tcode RSA3.
    4. Replicated the datasource under SD Application Component in BI and Activated it
    6. Performed Transformations
    7.  created an Info Package with FULL UPDATE and executed. I got 6898 records in my PSA
    6. Created DTP with DELTA. Saved and Executed it. Got 6898 records in my DSO
    7. Created Info Package with INIT WITHOUT DATA TRANSFER and scheduled it.
    8. Switched over to ECC and added a sale order
    9. Created an InfoPackage with DELTA UPDATE and Scheduled it.
-----I didnt receive any records in my PSA
    10. performed DTP.
---- I didnt received any new records in my DSO as my delta run is not working..
PS: I am using WO DSO
Please correct me if i am wrong anywhere
    Thanks in advance

  • "An IdocException occurred" while posting Idocs from SAP ECC to SAP PI AEX

    Hi all,
While sending Idocs from SAP ECC to SAP PI 7.4 AEX, we are experiencing this issue at SAP ECC-SM58
Only a particular Idoc type is having this issue.
Below are the checks done before posting this query:
    1. Pushed other Idocs from the SAP ECC to PI and all were getting exchanged successfully.
    2. Reloaded the meta data in PI for  the particular Idoc type in issue.
    3. Checked the RFC destinations in SAP ECC, RFC connection test is also working fine.
    4. Unicode option enabled in the SAP ECC RFC destination pointing to PI-AEX
    5. Restarted the inboundRA service in PI AEX.
Is there anything still missing. What could be root cause of this issue.
If anyone has encountered it before, pleases share the resolution.
    Thank you

  • Data Extraction from MS-BI to SAP-BI

    Hi All,
We have a requirement for data extraction from MS-BI to SAP-BI. In MS-BI cube they have same fact table and dimension table. This fact table is linked with dimension key. I want to know how to extract the data from the MS-BI cube to SAP-BI.
Can we go with DB connect or Info spoke. Which will be the best option?? Let me know the steps also.
And also how to find out the dimension table in SAP-BI cube??
    Pls let me know.

    Hi,
a few years ago I used the DB-connect to extract data from siebel. Nowadays I think you can easily use UD-connect.

  • IDOC type for interface between SAP ECC and SAP F&R

    Hi Experts,
I need SAP standatd IDOC type for interfacing between SAP ECC and SAP F&R [SAP Forecasting and Replenishment] using message type u201CFRE_LOC_SITEu201D.
Please help me in finding the idoc type?
    Regards,
    Krishan

    Hi Denish,
You have 2 ways of loading data from R/3 to APO.
    1. R/3 to BW cube to APO-BW cube to APO planning area
    or
    2.  R/3 to APO-BW cube to APO planning area
BW can be a enterprise BW system ( independent) or you can use the BW inbuilt in APO also referred to as APO-BW.
The only difference between the 2 BW systems is APO-BW can not take the load of reporting where as the enterprise BW can.
Unless your company policy requires the enterprie BW system, I suggest using 2nd way.
You can load the data from R/3 to APO-BW cube using extractors either generic or standard depending on your data. You need to have a RFC connection setup between APO-BW and R/3. ( This is not CIF).
When you load the data into the APO-BW cube, you just have to load the data from the cube to APO planning area using the transaction /sapapo/tscube.
Refer to [DP Data Mart|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_scm50/helpdata/en/13/5ada58309111d398250000e8a49608/frameset.htm] for more information about the data transfer between APO-BW and APO.

  • SAP ECC TO SAP SNC System

    Hi Experts,
I have a Scenario like SAP ECC to SAP SNC (ASYNC).
The problem was,  in the SXMB_MONI in the ACK Status it was showing one Question mark (with green colour). and also in the Outbound status, it was not showing any flag.
what is the error at here but it was (ASYNC scenario) why it was expecting the ACKnowledgement.
    Thanks in Adavnce,
    Ram.

    Gangadhara,
In PI/XI with SNC scenarios SAP provides default content such as Message Interfaces, Data Types and mappings.
Take a look at this link, I think it can help you: [http://help.sap.com/esoa_scm_snc2007/helpdata/en/index.htm]

  • Can I retrofit from SAP ECC to SAP R/3

My understanding was yes. However how do I set this up in SMSY? My system is coming in as an R/3 Enterprise system. However when I select the system role for post processing only my SAP ECC systems show up in the drop-down.
How do I include my SAP R/3 system:clients in the SAP ECC drop down?

Hmmm, it can be done both the ways. What system you need to keep it eventually?.
Form your point, Your ECC system is defined right?.
If thats that case, goto Txn SMSY-><your SID>-> Header Data-> Installed prodiuct version->from the free selections select SAP R/3->and the related compoent-(I Guess ECC server). This actually creates by itself an duplicate in R/3. but you have to un-check the leading product role box. (You can have the desired system- by cleaning up the inconsistencies).
The vice versa in the other case.
Does this sound OK. I know, its bit confusing all over, Please try it for a test/Sandbox SID first, to get that on place.
    Thanks,
    Jagan

  • Extraction from Standard Extractors in SAP-BW

    Hi
How i can extracts data from standard extractors from R3 system to  SAP-BW
    like 0CUSTOMER_ATTR is standard extractors.
    Regards
    Atul
Edited by: AtulMohan Mishra on Nov 4, 2010 1:08 PM

There are standard steps for this...
    1.Activate Dasasource in R/3 (RSA5)
    2. Replicate DataSource in BW
    3. Create Update rule / Transformations
    4. Create Infopackages / DTP's and load data.
You can get details in any BW/BI book.

  • Sending IDOC from SAP ECC to SAP MII

    Hello,
    Issue while configuring.
I have configured the RFC Destination in the Netweaver message listener and when i check the connection in SM59 I got  error as timeout during allocate of registered program and I have attached the screenshot of the error page.
I would request a reply asap.
    Thanks,
    Praveen

    Hi Praveen,
First, I would suggest that you identify what version, and SP, of MII and ECC.  Also the NW version and SP if applicable.
Second, use this custom Google search and terms MII, IDoc Listener, and perhaps SM59.  There are many discussions on IDoc Listeners going back a number of years.  Many of the issues with IDoc Listeners have not changed in most of that time, so look at the older ones as well.  I presume that you found and are using my How to Send an IDoc from SAP ECC to the SAP MII IDoc Listener (MII 12.1 to ECC 6.0) to set up your Listener?  If not, you should review your configuration and setup procedure against it.
I have not looked at MII 14.0 or 15.0, but understand that the configuration of Listeners really has not changed since MII 12.1.  So the document is still applicable.
Third, roughly 90% of the problems experienced with IDoc Listeners involve multiple uses of the self registering ProgID.  Deleting it in one place, generally does not work.  Use it in one place only.  Create a new ProgID for each separate Listener (either type) on each separate MII instance for each ECC instance.  Save yourself a lot of headaches.  Never, ever reuse ProgIDs!!!
Fourth, most of the other issues involve a PI/XI system in the middle.  Those are a bit more complicated since they rely on getting the connection configuration set up properly in PI.  Since I am not that familiar with PI systems (most times it is not involved with the Listeners), I generally have to get other experts involved.  Sometimes a CSS ticket is required.

  • SAP EarlyWatch Alert in SAP ECC and SAP PI

    Hi Experts,
Every week in SAP EarlyWatch Alert report in PI as well as SAP ECC, shows PI consuming highest resource in SAP ECC by the SAPMHTTP.
    Example as below:
    Initial System
    Initial Action
    Total Resp. Time in s
    % of RFC Load
    Avg. Response Time
    Avg. CPU Time
    Avg. DB Time
    Avg. Roll Wait Time
    PI
    SAPMHTTP
    200.261
    15,00
    600,3
    70,4
    165,4
    1,5
The total response time in SAP ECC by PI system is 200261 secs.
I have checked the interfaces which connects SAP ECC with RFC and calculated the processing time for all messages in PI. But that time is much less than the above total response time.
Can you please help me understand how to validate this with the messages that are getting processed through PI using RFC?
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hello Pascal,
No There is no possibility to get the Diaglog response time and the number of users as similar to a ABAP EWA report in a JAVA EWA report.
This is because of the fact that the checks for both these system types are different.

  • Extracting LTP (Long Term Planning) Data from SAP ECC to SAP BW

    Hello all
Here is the task in hand. There is a standard report that Production Planners execute post their MRP/LTP runs. This report can be accessed through T-code "MCB)". The program in action is RMCB1200. I tried looking for any standard extractors but to no avail. I would be fine to know either or both of the following:
    An extractor
All the primary tables involved ( I have found a few tables through the program but a list by some expert will help me understand that I have not missed anything significant)
Also, if anyone has done this before, how was your experience with the extraction in terms of extraction volume and performance.
    Regards
    Gajendra

After further digging, here is some information that I found out.
    T-code
    Program
    BADI
    MSEX
    RMDMRPEXTRACT02
    MD_SR_LIST_EXTRACT
This could possibly provide the data required. The program can be scheduled and the output can be managed by SPRO settings for Extraction Mode. I am running tests to confirm if it provides me the correct information and matches with MCB) output.
Here are some tables, just for reference:
LTP Tables: PLSC, PBHI, PLPT, MDTP, PLPR, PLPB
    MRP Records:
    MDKP
    MRP Document Header Data

  • Data Extraction from Seibel CRM to SAP BI

    Hi All,
We are going for implementation of SAP BI. We have analyzed the Source systems and in that we have SAP R/3, Oracle, Seibel CRM.
In case of SAP R/3 and Oracle i am aware of data extraction. I am not aware of Seibel CRM, Please help me which type of interface can be used for Seibel CRM.
Whether DB connect, UD connect or file interface ??????
and give me an idea how to pull data into SAP BI from Seibel CRM..

  • Replication of Sales Order from SAP ECC to SAP CRM

    Hi,
The scenario I am working on is breifly as under:
Telesales will create sales order directly in ECC. The sales order created in ECC will be replicated in CRM. I have some queries and request guidance:
    1. The same sales order type will be used by ECC for creating orders from telesales, as well as regular sales orders in ECC. I need to replicate only sales orders created by telesales. Please guide how to achieve the scenario requirement.
    2. There are many 'Z' Partner function in ECC in sales order, some of them are mandatory and others are optional. During replication, if the 'Z' partner functions are not created and maintained in CRM, what will be the impact? Will the sales order replicate or no. Impact in sales order replication of mandatory partner function and optional partner function not available in CRM.
    3. Impact of 'Y' and 'Z' condition type (optional) not maintained / imported from ECC to CRM in sales orders.
    Regards,
    Rajesh

    1. In R3AC1 set filter according to your needs for object SALESORDER. There are quite a few fields on which you can set filter.
    2. Partner functions will not affest replication. Replication is more strict from CRM to ERP hen viceversa. Also you said that optinal partner functons will be missing, so there is no reason that problems should accore. But of course standard sold-to party and shi-to party should be provided for pricing reasons.
    3. Should reprsent not problem, but pricing procedures must be synchronized between both systems.

  • SAP DMS - SAP ECC network traffic

    Hi all,
    I have the following situation:
The SAP ECC servers are hosted outside my company and we are planning to install a SAP DMS server.
We have 2 options: host the SAP DMS outside or install SAP DMS in our datacenter.
When the SAP user attaches or reads a file to/from SAP DMS, how is the network traffic ?
Is there any traffic fom SAP ECC to SAP DMS or the file goes to/from DMS from/to end-user ?
How SAP DMS impacts my WAN ?
    Best Regards,
    Leonardo.

Leonardo,  I have done some research /  trouble shooting and architectural changes to raise the upload / download speeds, there are several dependencies like Network, Application, hardware etc but to your question:
First of all, DMS is a core functionality of ECC and utilizes both ECC for execution and Content Servers (recommended for Obvious performance reasons) for Data Storage. For your case I recommend that you host Content Server at the Data Center (assuming you have no other option) and have a Cache Server installed Onsite. (This requires minimal maintenance). When the user uploads a file the traffic is high as the entire File needs to be transferred to the data center, on the other hand Cache server (if installed onsite) considerably reduces the retrieval time.
Again having said above there are several other parameters that could affect your upload / download speeds.
Hope you'll find this useful, let me know if you have further questions.
    regards
    C
