Best thing to do is connect your computer to the Time Capsule (LAN port) using an ethernet cable. Once connected, run Airport Utility and it should let you know why the light is yellow and attempt to fix the problem. If the problem persists, you should either re-configure the Time Capsule properly or conduct a hard reset and start the configuration over from the factory settings.

Please help - Time Capsule Set up problems

I bought a Time Capsule almost a year ago at the same time as my iMac, but have only tried to set it up in the last 3 weeks (so its the 6"x6"x1" version). I followed the set up instructions numerous times but kept getting an error message in Airport Utility. I rebooted my broadband and tried the factory reset of the TC.
Eventually I contacted Apple and after repeating everything whilst they were on the phone, they made an appointment for me at the Genius Bar to have the TC checked over. The Apple rep was able to access the TC using the internal Apple network and a normal port but had the same problem I did using the WAN connection so deemed the item faulty and replaced it.
My new TC is exactly the same and this time Apple advised me to ask my BB provider if there were any firmware updates required or reasons why I would be having problems. They also checked that I had the latest iMac software and Airport Utility. BT (my BB provider) went through a series of tests and concluded that my BT Home Hub 3 was faulty and have replaced it.
So now I have a new Home Hub 3 and another new TC and I've still got the same problem. I only want to use the TC for backing up my iMac with Time Machine but Id like to do it wirelessely. Can someone please tell me what I should do next as I can't believe its still down to faulty products.

I have just been watching Internet traffic on my McAfee security software on my BB and it shows that my router and TC both have a green light for access through the firewall, until Airport Utility gets to the point in its routine where it shows 'joining to the TC' and then my router loses access to the Internet and gets a red light as connection lost. Is that normal, and/or does it help diagnose what the problem might be?

Please Help - Time Capsule and External hard drive Issues

Recently, I switched from Comcast to AT&T uverse as my internet provider and I started experiencing problems.
(1) I have a 4th generation Apple Time Capsule which I am using as my router.
(2) Connected to the Apple Time Capsule - USB - is an external hard drive (not for backup with Time Machine.)
(3) I have a 2011 Macbook pro which I use to access my file on my time capsule and external hard drive.
(4) I had been using my AT&T portable Hotspot from my cell phone to get internet access on my MacBook pro from remote locations to gain access to my external hard drive which is attached to the time capsule.
(5) On August 2, 2014, I switched from Comcast to AT&T and had the AT&T turn off the router function. (I have been using the router from my apple time capsule)
(6) Under Network I switched to bridge mode.
(7) And since August 2, 2014 my time capsule has not been backup.
THE PROBLEM - I need to be able to use the hotspot function from my cell phone to gain access on the external hard drive using my MacBook Pro which I was able to do before. Now it is showing time capsule under finder but unable to connect.
Do I need to reset my Time Capsule since I have a new service provider. Everything else works fine - meaning able to get internet signal but unable to access my external hard drive and backup my time capsule. Please HELP.

If you got ATT to turn off router function in their modem..
Then 6. is wrong.. You cannot have the Network switched to bridge mode..
You must have it set to dhcp and nat.
That is also why you cannot backup.. the TC is off the network.
Please change back to router mode in the TC.
Ensure the internet tab shows dhcp and you create a wireless network.
Then power down the TC... power down the ATT modem.. wait about 20min (you can try 5min.. but it might not be long enough).
Power up the ATT modem.. wait 2min for things to flash lights in de right blinkin order.. then start the TC.
Open the airport utility and make sure your TC captured the public IP and is now working as the router.
That should fix that end of it.. the hotspot end??
Tell us what happens.

HELP: Time Machine super weirdness, ext drives just disappear...

Hi all and Merry Christmas!
I bought 2 brand new Maxtor One Touch 1TB Ext FW800 drives, intended one for Time Machine and the other possibly for backing up purposes or SuperDuper (http://www.maxtorsolutions.com/en/catalog/OTIII_Turbo/index.html)
*Both drives have the same result:*
I mounted the drive each for the first time, and use Disk Utility to erase (format) again, simple format, no raid no nothing.
Then I set up Time Machine to do the 1st initial back up, but after a while, into a few GB of data back up, the ext drive *just suddenly unmount and disappear from the Desktop*. Twice for both drives. Now when I *turn the drives back on, I can't get them to mount... HELP!!*
Did I miss something, did something wrong or I should have format it as a RAID drive as it should be?
*But right now I need to "rescue" the drives back, how do I do it?* OR that the drives are DOA and somehow faulty?

Hi. I did a Erase like any other internal or external Mac disk - Journaled, not FAT, etc. One simple partition, no GUID etc.
Anyway, I am very happy to report that the Time Machine drive is now working fine, here was what I did before that failed:
1. The 2 1TB Ext FW800 drives were connected to a Belkin FW800 Hub, the hub is then connected to the sole FW800 port behind the iMac
2. I gave the designated Time Machine drive a custom icon, using Get Info/Copy & Paste the icon graphic.
So I remove the hub, connected the 1st drive to the FW800 port, and the 2nd one daisy chain to the first drive. This actually remounted the 2 drives and I re-format and re-erase them again.
This time my designated Time Machine drive I left it alone as it is, no icon pasting whatsoever.
Did the initial backup, the FW disk icon immediately changed to the Green Time Machine icon drive, the process took quite a while but has completed and successful.
So I am not sure whether it's the combination of the above points 1 & 2, maybe the hub was faulty (it's new), or because I change the icon. Anyway, something learnt.

[SOLVED] GNOME:(Please help) Time is always 4 hours off after reboot

Hello,
I've had this odd problem for months now on Gnome and i'm going to finally ask for help. Basically, the time is always minus four hours (it is 8:38 am right now but it says 4:38 am). Manually adjusting the time does work, but it always resets after a reboot. My location in the time/date/weather panel app is set correctly. I've searched the forums and google but none of the fixes have worked, one involved changing my hardware clock from the terminal but it didnt have any effect.
The system time in the bios is always correct.
This is on my laptop (x86_64). My desktop, which is a nearly identical setup except that it is i686, has never had this issue, in fact i'm on it right now and the time is correct.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Please i need some help time capsule and airport express wireless extender

hello everyone and thank you for looking at my post. i do need some help. i am not very good at the computer programing so i might not use the right terms. i have a time capsule that i just replaced an old pc type router with. i have a fairly large house and can not get wireless signal to the one end of my house. so i went to the apple store and bought an airport express after being told how its just plug and play and itll setup with my time capsule and waala iv just extended my wireless signal. well it did not seam to work that well for me. i have done all the setting up that was told me to in the book to do and i still have get to get a wireless signal out of the express i then hooked up an ethernet wire from the express to my girlfriends macbook. and what do you know now im seeing the express in my airport utility. but then i unplug the ethernet and im back to not seeing the express. what am i doing wrong and what do i need to do. please help me if you can. thanks alot.

Let's double-check your base stations' settings ...
o If practical, place the base stations in near proximity to each other during the setup phase. Once done, move them to their desired locations.
o Open AirPort Utility and select the Time Capsule (TC).
o Choose Manual Setup from the Base Station menu, or double-click the base station to open the configuration in a separate window. Enter the base station password if necessary.
o Click AirPort in the toolbar, and then click Wireless.
o Choose “Create a wireless network” from the Wireless Mode pop-up menu, and then select the “Allow this network to be extended” checkbox.
o Next, select the 802.11n AirPort Express Base Station (AXn) that will extend this network, and choose Manual Setup from the Base Station menu, or double-click the base station to open its configuration in a separate window. Enter the base station password if necessary.
o Choose “Extend a wireless network” from the Wireless Mode pop-up menu, and then choose the network you want to extend from the Network Name pop-up menu.
o Enter the base station network and base station password is necessary.
o Click Update to update the base station with new network settings.

HELP TIME MACHINE WIPED OUT MY BOOTCAMP?

I had this 200 GB hardisk partition & it was my windows 7 partition I installed every application & game I have & also I have had homework & essays their & now time machine used it as a back up!!!! is their any way to retrieve my bootcamp partition as windows!!!!! I used iPartition but it didn't work!

The files are very likely still there and recoverable. However, *it is very important that you do not use the drive until you recover your files* or you risk overwriting the data.
FileSalvage is a recovery tool that says it can recover files from a FAT32 formatted disk:

You could also use a PC file recovery program but I'm not at all familiar with any of those.

Help - time sensitive project

Ok, I probably have no business being here...except I'm the only one in my organization that (was dumb enough to?) say, "Hey, I'll take care of that..." I'm producing a concert that airs 30 Oct with a live band and lots of production. Getting to the point, I'm creating animated backgrounds that will be projected on a big blow-up screen behind a live band to create a backdrop for the entire concert. It will rotate between 'live scenery' and various video snippets. (Think, halloween themed concert, spooky scene with rolling fog, flickering jack o'lanterns, and tree branches blowing in the wind...)
So, without knowing the exact size of the screen, I need to know what my best bet for success is concerning video settings. I've spent days pouring through tutorials learning how to create what I've done so far and I like the product in its raw form. I initially created the project to be 1080p / 5.2gb, but after the first test render of a 30 sec clip, the playback (.avi) was incrediblly jerky. So, then I've lowered the settings to half resolution, and dropped the comp to NTSV-DV which created a MUCH smaller file and plays back fine, except there is now a border on the left and right.
I know, I know, I should know what I'm doing before starting this....but I don't, and the project still has to be finished and I'm building the plane in the air. Is it a reasonable question to ask...what would be my best bet for comp/project settings to ensure the video will project to screen with success? I'm not creating a masterpiece here....just entertaining, animated backdrops.
Please let me know what you think, or at least, some questions that I could answer to help figure it out.

You should definitely do your project at 1080P or better (barring getting actual instructions from the venue).
You are going to need to get instructions on what sort of deliverable to create. That being said, I hope you kept the jerky playback file because that's what you should have. You should then take that file into the Adobe Media Encoder and create a WMV or h.264 wiith it.
The reason it plays back all jumpy is that it's a large file with a very high data rate and your hard drive can't deliver the data quickly enough.
It's all explained in this FAQ entry.
As someone who's new to AE, you really need to start here. Otherwise you will run into more problems like this and we might not be able to help in time. Seriously, spending a little time now to understand the foundational elements will save you a lot of time and frustration in the future.

Help - Time Capsule Died?

Hey folks, my time capsule which has been working for a good 24 months has suddenly died - it appears to power on - I get an amber LED then after 60 seconds it just dies and nothing. Any ideas?

If the LED has gone off there is no way to reset or do anything.. it would not help anyway as the power supply is now dead.
If you have applecare on a computer.. (sometimes ipad is accepted and sometimes not), and the TC is less than 3 years old, Apple should replace it. They will not recover files or do anything, and you will get a refurbished one with same size drive as the old one.
Otherwise you will need to repair the power supply, replace it with external power supply or get a repairer to fix it for you.

HELP-Time selection tool acting crazy all of a sudden

Hi all, Audition CS6 is suddenly acting strange on me! I am editing an audiobook, and have to pull dialogue from a male character from another open file to insert into my larger raw narration file....so I go back and forth between these two files quite a bit, but have to stay in the place I left off on each one....normally, this works beautifully; when I switch to view a different file and go back to the previous "still open" file, the time selection tool remains in the same place I left it...but suddenly, it has started remaining at the time I left it on the PREVIOUS FILE... when I return to the other file. Wow, let me rephrase that incase that was too confusing. If I am at, say, position 02:14:12 on file A, and then open file B, and copy a piece of audio, leaving the cursor in THAT file at position 00:00:45, when I switch back to file A, the time selection tool is now at position 00:00:45, rather than where I left it. Again, it didn't used to do this (as in didn't do it last night even!) I tried restarting the computer, and that didn't fix it. I am not aware of changing any settings, but I'm guessing I must have accidentally hit the perfect storm of keystrokes to engage this "option."
BTW, I thought it might be the Preference-->Playback-->Return playhead to start position on stop (not that I had changed it) but that does not fix it either.

Souinds like the "Synchronize across files" preference got enabled. Open Preferences > General and uncheck "Synchronize selection, zoom level, and playhead across files in the Waveform Editor"

HELP Time Capsule with two routers?

Bit of a problem here. I want to have wireless through the whole house, but I need it mainly on the 1st floor... My router for some reason (walls, surfaces?) Cannot reach into the other part of the 1st floor. I have 2 routers, so my question is, Is there any way I could have TC back up computers on different routers?
The weird thing is, in the one part of the 1st floor, you can only see 1 router, but then when you move back into the other part of the 1st floor, it reads the other router... any help?

In general it looks like you just have reached the limits of WiFi in your environment. Its not really predictable where and how far your WiFi will work.
I have pretty much the same environment as you have (2 floor). In order to have WiFi accessible all over my house, I connected 2 Router (Airport Extreme and Time Machine) via an ethernet cable to each other (was hard work). They both distributing the "same" wireless LAN. Every resource in my LAN is now accessible from everywhere. Of cause TM as well.
There is an option to spare out the ethernet connection between the routers and have this be wireless as well. This never worked well. I cannot recommend to even try it. In order to provide the same Wireless Network from 2 points, the 2 routers need to communicate rather fast to each other. While this is not a problem with ethernet, it will always be a problem if this is wireless as well.
It may works if you just need working browsers and no other networking services.

Please Help (Time Capsule Problems)

I don't know where to begin. I am having a lot of problems with my Time Capsule. I recently reset it back to Factory Default Settings. I have done this 3 times now with no resolution.
I am getting a few problems repeated and I initially noticed it when playing Call of Duty: Black Ops, that I have a "Strict NAT", so I tried to change that and that is when problems began.
1. I guess I have a Double NAT going on. My Time Capsule has said that is a problem before.
2. I also keep getting that I have 2 IP addresses.
"Your computer has detected that the IP address 192.168.7.64 for the Network Card with network address 0x2C8158EAB773 is already in use on the network. Your computer will automatically attempt to obtain a different address."
AND
"An error has occurred in initializing the adapter 12. Error Code is 0x1004"
3. I also am getting many Time Capsule errors when trying to set it up. Error 6573 and Error -4.
What I want to do is just set up my Time Capsule Wireless Router with my DSL AT&T modem. I am using Windows 7 on my Sony VPCF115FM laptop. Please help. I am very new to networking and I have no clue what I am doing.

Trim marks-Please help-time running out.

Hi all. I know I have done this in the past...but I have CS3 on Windows XP and my document is an 8.75" x 11.25 giving the .125 bleed on each side. I would like to show the printers trim marks while saving to PDF (Acrobat 8 Pro). But it never places the marks in the correct place...always to the edge of the document.
I don't even know if this makes sense...but we are going to press in 1.5 hours. I need help!

Make your document (artboard) size 8.5 x 11. Enter your .125 bleed in the Marks and Bleeds panel when saving as PDF.
This is based on AI 12 (CS2). Details may vary with AI 13.

HELP -- Tim Tow, one more query. Deployment Server.

Sir, I have made cluster on single analytic server also, by putting two copies of same app. on one analytic server in a cluster.(i.e. Only one analytic server is used to cluster 2 applications). Still failover support is not tested. For client, in my lab I used Deployment Server console to connect to deployment server,(i.e. application was taken offline using deployment console.Is it correct way to test failover support. I did not used spreadsheets.Pls. suggest where I have mistaken.Thank You,Ravinder.
