Failed Start Up

I read that if eclipse isn't opening properly, in the config file you must put in:
-vm
C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin
But now it is starting, getting to the workbench screen, accepting, then closing out. What would be the best way to fix this issue?

My computer failed start-up test. What should I do?

Hi, The above Failure ID refers to Hard disk drive failure. You have to replace the Hard disk drive and then reinstall the OS using the recovery disk to get the unit working. Did you have the original OS installation disk? If not, call Apple Customer relations and provide them with the MBP serial number (on the bottom) and they will send you replacements. There is a charge.
If this is a late 2011 MBP, the it came with Lion installed. Try accessing the Apple servers with OPTION COMMAND R keys held down at start up. The display should show a picture of a globe. Proceed accordingly. If no success, call Apple as already described.

Apple mobil device failed start

I was working in iTunes today and was asked if I wanted to install the latest update. I did and then my iTunes shut down and I am not getting an error message that says
The progam can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
I went to the control pannel and uninstalled iTunes and then went to the web to re-install it. The install looks like it is complete then I get this message.
Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privleges to start system service.
I click retry and it appears again so then I click ignore and it goes away and finishes the install. When I go to open the iTunes program I get the first message about the missing .dll file.

I would use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order and then restart your computer:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)

we are using TUXEDO 6.5 in conjunction with ADC's Singl.eView.
Starting TUXEDO by calling tmboot -y works fine in the command prompt.
Starting TUXEDO within a Sun Cluster Agent, which internaly calls tmboot -y as
well, fails with the foolowing error messages:

Patch #232, CR041488 seems to address this:
GWTDOMAIN connection problem when maxfiles kernel parm set > 32K
Perhaps the Cluster Agent sets a higher ulimit when it runs.
See if you are running the latest patch.

I have a working Directory Server 5.2 installation . Now I added Java Access Manager and Web Server 6.1SP4 to test the RSAauthentication module. Everything looks ok througth the installation / configure late process, but when I try to start the Web server, the amserver module fails

I"ve ran into this a few times, check your webserver / appserver's server.xml, apparently its forgets to add a path to many of the wireless jar files.
You should have these jars on your system, if not install SUNWma and SUNWmae.

Correct these entries in your server.xml and restart your container.

Macbook Pro failed start up

On starting my Macbook Pro it loads with a grey page and the OSX Utilities box, and won't allow anything else. Verifications appear ok but any attempt to repair the disk fails and an Error box appears saying "Live file system repair is not supported". I have also tried the NVAM/PRAM start up with no luck.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Since you appear to be running Lion do the following:
Reinstalling Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

Opmnctl failed-"start managed process after the maximum retry limit"-URGENT

I have a UCCX 8.X new instalation and when start the configuration wirzard at Cisco CM Configuration, put the
AXL Service Provider, Unified CM Telephony Provider and RmCm Provider click next and the web interface does not respond.
In the CUCM the application users jtapi_1 and rmcm has been created, but the web interface UCCX fail, and I start the wizard again.
Any Idea?

I remember reading other posts with similar issues and it was down to licensing. Have you got the correct license? eg, you're not using an upgrade license for a fresh install?

Need help for J2EE Server0 failed starting

I am new in SAP and learning BI with ECC6.0 IDES. When I was doing BI-Java post-installation, I changed a little bit in EP, then J2EE Server0 failed to start, JVM exit code is -11113.
What I did is, in EP->System Administration->System Configuration->UME Configuration->SAP System, I changed the user/password from SAPJSF to J2EE_ADMIN because connection test failed. After change, the connection test succeed, so I save it. After restart, Server0 process in MMC failed with exit code -11113. I can not find any way to change it back because I can not access Portal any more.
I know it's stupid. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried to use the config tool? You might be able to make the change via the config tool as it can be accessed when the portal is stopped.

"Failed start target server" when install LC ES Weblogic edition

I am using the LC configure manager to start LC server.
Weblogic Admin server already started , but target server start failed.
I want to login to weblogic admin console , I try weblogic/weblogic ,but it failed ..

Having startup prob. on my compaq laptop, failed start. up test with hard disk failure help?

I have a compaq presario, CQ70-120US , with windows vista
I haven't made any changes to it, I took it to my mothers over the holidays and it was working fine. Like an idiot, i was impatient during a shut down and did a hard kill cause wanted to turn back on to do something else. After the hard kill i turned back on and it went to black screen , then a blue screen with curser, then eventually gave an error box saying Loadkey failed 999.
so after trying the hitting f10 at startup and doing hard disk test (which failed)
memory test passed
then did f8 to start in safe mode and that ran almost all day with no success
last thing i tried was hitting f2 at startup and running the start up test, again memory test passed, then i get this
" startup test failed
hard disk 1 quick (303)
so not sure what to do at this point. i have no recovery disks but if need be i will order them, but wanted to know if this was fixable without doing that before i go that route.
This computer was given to me and within one week i messed it up. go figure

Hi,
Please try last resource, do a HDD self test:
1. Restart the computer.
2. Keep tapping the F10 key when the HP logo appears. This will take you to Bios Setup Utility.
3. Select the Diagnostic tab.
4. Select the "hard drive self test" option and press enter to perform the test.
Note: This test takes at least 40 minutes.
Pass - The hard drive is not damaged.
Fail - the hard drive is damaged and may need to be replaced.

Failed start up-Grey screen ****

Hi nice people.
I own a G4 imac 15 flat panel, running OSX10.2
Currently after turning on my computer I get the following-
The start up tone, then a screen with the grey apple logo, I then get the spinning grey progress wheel and this is how the computer remains, not progressing from this screen!
The hard drive is making an active noise for the first minute and then goes quiet.
Previously to this situation-
My computer kept locking up while I was using the Internet.
Seeing the progress indicator (spinning disc) it remained constant and I was not able to do anything from this point. Tried force quitting nothing.
Switching off the computer with the power button led me to me my current situation.
I have followed all online help advice that seems to be relevant and have tried the following-
*Resetting PRAM
*Safe Boot
*I have also disconnected all additional devices and Ethernet connection.
*ENTERING SINGLE-USER MODE DISPLAYED THE FOLLOWIING-

Devfs on/dev
HFS resolvelink: cant find iNode936777647
HFS resolvelink: cant find iNode2695920
Singleuser bootfsk not done
Root device is mounted read-only
If you want to make modifications to files,
run /sbin/fsk -y first and then /sbin/mount-uw/
AFTER RUNNING, FSK /sbin/fsk y

I'm by no means a computer wizz or have any real experience of computer errors, so excuse any stupidity.
If anyone would like to take pitty on me and throw some advice my way I'd be etternally grateful. Maybe I'll even buy you a pint if you ever visit edinburgh.

Hi Paul, and welcome to the Discussions!
I once had B-tree problems and overlapped extent allocations, and DiskWarrior was able to fix them. No guarantee it'll fix the problems reported by fsck, but even if it doesn't and you have to reinstall your OS this time, DW is worth having to help prevent a recurrence.
The advice from Gulliver here and Dr. Smoke here will also help in future. HTH-- if so you can buy Michael Conniff a pint next time you're in London and we'll call it even. ;o)
