Filter Information for two parameters in Query Designer

Hi Gurus !!
I have a problem for filter information for two parameters in Query Designer,
the first parameter correspond a Ejercise-Period, the second parameter correspond
a Compensation Date of document, both parmeters must have date less than or equal to
to the parameter date input for screen (mm.aaaa).
Internally the Report must filter countable information for Countable Date <= Parameter Input and
Compensation Date of document <= Parameter Input.
If i assign two filter parameter in Query Designer, not could realise this.
Exist any simple form to realise this ??
Wait for yours responses.
Thank You.

Hi shanthi bhaskar,
Thanks a lot for your answer.
I have one doubt about it:  with this solution that you propoused the user will be able to select the values for plant?.
I mean, the user make the selection of the value for Zone, then he wants to see the in plan´s variable the values that corresponds with this Zone for make a new selection of plan.
What happens if I need this dependency also in another variable like time variable?
Thanks  a lot

  • Dependency between two Variables in query designer filter prompt

    Hi Experts,
I'm working in BW 3.5 query designer and I have two characteristics ZONE and PLANT (both are filter variables) and what I need is that when the user make a selection of one ZONE (for example Zone north) then he will be able to see in the Plan Variable the values for selection that corresponds with the Zone selected previously in the other filter variable (ZONE).

  • Hide a row or column for characteristic value # in Query Designer

    Hi gurus,
I would if we could hide a result row / column if one of the characteristic value is #. The requirement is actually to remove the meaningless row / column from the whole result set. For example, I have a char Material Group in the column. Since not every Material is assigned to a Material Group, I will get the following layout:
    Material_Group A
    Material_Group B
    Material_Group C
Is it possible to define in query designer so that the column with # will automatically not be displayed?
    Thanks,
    Meng

    Hi Meng,
I guess we have the same users..
But there is one thing that is going to make a non sense on the report: if you do not display the "#" for material group, then the total of your query by material group will not be the summation of what is displayed on the screen...and if the user explort the information in Excel (pretty sure they will do so), you will have some calls that your query does not balance....
Based on that assumption, tell the users to assign a material group to the materials, so that this unassigned column disappears. You could even give them a control report listing all the parts that do not have a material group
If this is a standard business rule not to have a material group for all parts, then, what you could do is to change the text for empty rows for Material group, then the "#" will disappear and wil be under the text description you defined.
But keep in mind that your data is made of materials which do not have a material group in their definition, noraml or not ?

  • Heading for Different Types  in Query designer

We have three different types Direct, Indirect and Others. Where Indirect and Others are fixed values and Direct types are dynamic which are getting from ECC.
So they are expecting heading before each type and result according to these types.
Tried so many options but not able to achieve the desired result as expected in Query Designer.
Please find the attached document for desired output
Please provide some inputs how can we achieve at the report level.

    hi Naresh,
Structures are objects that you define in the BEx Query Designer. You can define reusable structures as well. they form the basic framework of a report. You can have maximum of 2 structures in a query. In such case you cannot have the same KeyFigure in both the structures.
You can also define a structure for a Characteristic.
    Please check out these links.

    Limitations of Structures usage
You can have maximum of two structures only ... One for kfs and one for characteristics..A characteristic can't be included in a KF structure and a KF can'be included in a characteristic structure...
We can't have 2 KF structures but we can have 2 Char Structure or 1 KF Structure and 1 Char Structure.

  • How to restrict the attribute values for the user in query designer

    Hi All,
I have a requirment where certain user would see certain vailes in the query desiner of the attribute.
The requirment is we have planing material which is attribute of material
When X user want to restrict the  values for planning material ,where he is able to see all the planning material. But who is not authorized for all the value.
Ex: X user has authorization for see planning material 100,101,102. of material But when he try to restrict the planning material in query designer where is getting all values of planing material.
    Or
is there way to blank the restriction help.so that he can't able to see values while restricting
Please some one can advise me on it..

    Hi,
    Let me sum up:
you have an object ZPLNMAT for the planning material
you have the object 0MATERIAL for material and this object has ZPLNMAT as attribute.
If you can restrict in the query designer, I suppose this attribute is then as navigationnal and also added in the multi-provider.
The object ZPLNMAT is checked as relevant for authorization, and you set up a role with the attached values of ZPLNMAT this user should have access to.
Are you sure the users are restricting on the ZPLNMAT object and not 0MATERIAL, because you should have everything now

    Hi,
    Have you tried APD?
You can combine them using workbook or from a multiprovider query. APD is another option. Have a look at these APD docs:
In APD, you can take input from two queries, then combine them and load to another object (DSO).

  • All Dates displayed for "Characteristic Values" in Query Designer

    Hello Experts,
We are on BI 7.0, level 13.  I am having an issue within the Query Designer with regards to dates.  I have a write-optimized DSO that contains 3 date fields (for example, ZDATE1, ZDATE2, and ZDATE3).  Each date InfoObject is of type DATS so the system automatically creates it with reference to 0DATE.
When I create a query in the Query Designer, on the left hand side, I expand the "Characteristic Values" node under each date field.  The Query Designer shows the same list of values for each of the 3 dates even though they are not valid values posted in the DSO for those fields.
For example, ZDATE1 only has 1 value posted in the DSO (01/01/2005).
ZDATE2 only has 1 value posted in the DSO (01/01/2006).
ZDATE3 only has 1 value posted in the DSO (01/01/2007).
Bute when I expand the "Characteristic Values" node in the Query Designer, I see ALL THREE values under each date field.  I would expect to only see the 1 value posted for the InfoObject in the DSO.  Also note that each InfoObject is defined to show "Only posted values in InfoProvider".
It appears that Query Designer will show all values for the reference InfoObject 0DATE instead of the ones posted to the actual InfoObject in the DSO.  If I delete the data in the DSO, the Characteristic Values list still remains because they exist in 0DATE.  Anyone encounter this before?  How can I get the Characteristic Values list to only show posted values for that InfObject?
    Thanks for your help!
    J

Thanks for the response.  I went into the DSO and right clicked on each of the Date fields.  I looked at the Provider-specific properties and there is the option for "Query Exec.FilterVal" which only restricts what values appear when restricting during execution, not during query creation.
Is there someplace else I should look or someplace else I can make change to only display posted dates when creating a query?  Thanks!

    Hi,
in Query at a time only 2 structures can be used, even thought there are many structures created on that infoprovider.

  • Unable to see  hierarchy nodes for a hierarchy in Query designer

For IO 0GL_ACCOUNT, we have many hierarchies defined.
In the query designer when i am trying to restrict the 0GL_ACCOUNT with one of the hierarchy say Hier1 the corresponding hierarchy nodes should be displayed so that i can select any nodes of my choice and can restrict.
Strangley instead of showing hierarchy nodes,it is showing" [ ]" with out any values.Checked in RSA1 ,the hierarchy with all nodes visible perfectly. No authorization settings created on any of these hierarchies.
    hierachy is in active state.
    Appreciate any suggestions on this.
    Regards,
    Swapna.G

Before restricting you need to select hierarchy for the characterstic and tick the activate hierarchy display checkbox

  • How to search for Key Figures in Query Designer 7.0?

    Hi,
in BEx Query Designer 3.5 there was a search function to look after key figures or characteristics. Is there a search function in Query Designer 7.0?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
QD 3.x version has "Find" option to identify the KF and Characteristics, but the same is not available with QD 7.x.
    Reason could be:
With QD 7.x,just by typing the starting letters of KF or Characteristics by Keyboard itself,it will highlight you the entries.Hence there is no explicit Find option provided. But in case of QD 3.x,they gave it explicitely.

  • How to create universe so that it can be opened for two diff CMS in designer

    Post Author: basham
    CA Forum: Administration
    Hi,
i have created some WI reports over a universe. I need to move the report and the universe to different CMS.But i'm not able to open the .unv file for the othere CMS in Designer, i'm getting FRM00008.Could some one let me know if i'm missing any thing in the universe that i have created. or do i need to modify some thing in there.

    Ok.
    Take a textfield
Go to Object | Allow multiple lines
Go to Layout | Height | activate "Expand to fit"
    Go to the initialize-Event or readyform (You have to change the _ for your textfield)     this.rawValue = "___________\n___________\n___________";
    Go to the enter-Event   this.rawValue = null;
    Go to the exit-Event
              if(this.rawValue == null)
                    this.rawValue = "___________\n___________\n___________";
              }else{}
With this solution you can simulate the same as pattern see above.
I hope this is helpfull for you,
    Mandy

  • How to restrict for same char in Query designer

    Hi Experts,
We have a requirement where we have to display the TRansfer amount
Where transfer from contract and transfer to contract
    Sould not be equal.
Is there any way by which in query designer we can put condition on Chars.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks
    Mayank

    Hi,
As much I understood, you may create a replacement path variable on CHAR and convert the same in number/Key Figure.
You may put condition on this.
    I hope it will help.
    Thanks,

  • MDX - Filter members using AND operator in Query designer or otherwise

    Hi,
    I have the following table:
    ID
    Column A
    1
    ValA
    1
    ValA
    1
    Special
    2
    ValA
    3
    ValA
I need to return only IDs which has a Special value in Column A. So the output would be:
    ID
    Column A
    1
    ValA
    1
    ValA
    1
    Special
I thought that one way would be to use the MDX operator but there is very little documentation on it. I am a real beginner of MDX.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi RiddlerInPlay,
After testing the issue in my environment, we can add a group grouped on ID, then use an expression to control the row visibility to achieve your requirement. For more details, please see:
In the Row Groups pane, right-click the Details1 group to add a group grouped by ID field.
Delete the first column with “Delete columns only” option.
Right-click the details row to open the Row Visibility dialog box.
Use the expression below in the “Show or hide based on an expression” text box:
    =iif(Fields!Column_A.Value="Special",false,true)
The following screenshot is for your reference:
