Finally found a solution for sync

over here they offered me the following solution:
iPhone creates a separate folder, so when opening outlook take iPhones original folder and use this as your default calendar. this works for the moment but it is tricky because if I forget to remember to open the other folder: lost entrys and if a shared entry applies it has to be copied. Facit: better than not beeing able to sync but no final solution at all dear apple!

Thank you and whoever you copied this from so so much. Having already sent back one new iPod shuffle because after randomly autofilling from my entire music collection depsite following all the troubleshooting tips it just wouldn't let me do anything else, so I conclude it was broken! I then went out and got another new one from a different source only to find I had exactly the same problem. Ok that's too spooky for it to be a hardware problem, but having wasted two evenings of my life trying to sort it out I thankfully came across this post which works!:-) You are my saviour! Come on Apple put a fix out there for this or at least acknowledge there is a problem - otherwise I'm sure you'll end up loosing sales!

  • Solution for syncing iCal with Exchange2003

After two days searching and struggling, I finally have found a solution to sync iCal with Exchange 2003. Outlook 2011 for the Mac connected to an older Exchange 2003 server, gives imap email functionality, but no support for syncing calendars or address books. With DavMail running as gateway on your Mac, you can sync not only iCal, but also calendars on mobile devices such as iPhone and iPad.
Here I wrote how I did it: http://www.zweerscreatives.nl/?p=372

    Dennis,
You can try a work around that allows you to sync tasks and contacts to outlook using an alternate profile in outlook.
Create a new 'dummy' profile (ie CRMOD) in Outlook. You will need to make up a fake email server settings or base it on the IMAP connection to Beehive.
Once you have created the dummy profile, add the .pst data file to your normal Beehive Profile, this will allow you to access the tasks, calendar and contacts in the CRMOD profile.
In the PIM Sync setup select your 'dummy' profile as the outlook profile to sync.
Your users will have two contact, task and calendar folders on thier outlook desktop, but some folks prefer to separate their contact files and tasks anyway. Outlook will display a unified set of tasks if you view 'To-Do List'
Make sure to check the 'Show this folder as an email address book' in the contact folder properties.
Hope this helps while you wait for the enhancement!

Is there an email app that I can use?
Has anyone found a solution for this?

This seems to be an annoying part of the newer OS.  When I first got my Pearl in 2008, I didn't have that occur.  However once the OS got upgraded, and now with the Tour, it seems like that is the way it works.  Not clear to me why they would have thought this is preferable.

  • I HAVE FOUND THE SOLUTION FOR THE FIRMWARE UPDA

I'm sure most all of you have had this same problem I <strike>had:</strike> When you try to install the firmware update it says 'Plug in your player'!!? A very frusterating message mainly when your player is CLEARLY plugged in. So here's how I came about my solution!?I endlessly searched on this support forum, and I found that several people had found the solution several different ways!? Then other people have tried other's solutions, and it worked for some, but not all!?The forums have obviously pointed the problem at the computer, and not the player. They are halfly right, the problem isn't what you do on the player, but it's what they do to the player. I figured that there was something that the succesfull posters?did in the mean-time between posts that the unsuccesfull posters didn't do. It also didn't make sense, like others said was the problem, that it was Windows Media Player!? They said that you needed to roll it back, downgrade, to WMP 9 or 0. This made absolutely no sense to me because when I brought up WMP , and 0 for that matter, it recognized 'creative ZEN touch' under the 'synch' tab. After I found the solution, sorry for writing so long about how instead of just what it is: I just wanted to make it clear that this is the solution, I told my dad what it was!?He said that it made perfect sense because when my older brother tried to upgrade his firmware on his Dell MP3 Player, a message said that:It must be fully charged!?Beore you mess up your computer deleting all of these files and waste your time, try plugging your player into the wall at the same time it's plugged into the computer!? Then run your firmware update and bravo!? You are back in buisness!?Here is what to do in a little easier reading format:?. Plug your player into the wall.2. a. Plug your player into the computer.?b. (your player, at least my ZEN touch, should have the 'Docked' screen up. I'm not completely sure how this comes about, but I think that it'll appear that way while downloading the firmware update.)? If not, then try it anyways!3. Go to http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/?and search by product!4. Download the firmware update.?I hope that the moderators and admins find that this is, in fact, the solution!? Make this a sticky or something!? Your loss, not mine. :smileysurprised:

for all of you that fall in this...
sorry guys it was supposed to be a postponed April fools day joke!!
... i believe you will forgive this little silly joke of mine

  • Found a solution for all issues!

Hi all, I just wanted to post my solution for all my problems with my nokia e63 (maling issues, crash issues, browsing issues, etc), yes, there is a simple way to solve them all and I took it, I just got a Blackberry and now everything runs smooth!! YES!, there is light at the end of the tunel, jajajajajaja I'm so happy to finally get over this nightmare, hope you all find your way out of Nokia's blackhole! Good luck

I was able to locate an example that somewhat applies to your application:
    https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-11632
I simply modified the code to allow for CI and CO tasks, similar to your VI, and it worked fine.  I've attatched the modified code below.  However, I was unable to run your code without receiving the error you were seeing.  Even after I made the VIs identical (leading up to the Start Task VI), I saw different bahavior.  The VI that you are working on may have been corrupt.  This modified example should be a good starting point.

  • Iphone 2G 2.0.1 using Linksys WRT54GL- found a solution for wifi problems

My iphone was unable to see my home wifi router .
After many many hours of changing the iphone and the router parameters I found a solution.
I switched the Wireless Network Mode to G-only and put an open DNS (208.67.222.222) on the list of static DNS in my router (setup/basic setup).
Now when iphone got an IP I removed from the iphone Wifi DNS list the other DNS numbers and left only the open DNS address.
I hope this solution will help someone else

Some of the problems people are having with connections has to do with the fact that for some reason they're either getting an IP address that's not in their subnet or not getting an IP address assigned at all. That was happening to me as well. What happens when you connect via ethernet is that you resolve that problem.
Hopefully Apple will come up with a permanent solution soon.

  • Anyone found a solution for iCal sync???

I've gone so far as to wipe my iPad clean and start over from scratch, but the iCal on my iPad still won't sync with my MobileMe. iPhone 3G and MacBook Pro sync fine.

I have almost a similar problem. I can sync between my MacPro and my MacBookPro and ME but I can't get a complete sync with iPad. I have cleaned it, redone everything, but only some of my ical information comes through in the sync. I am trying to do this wirelessly is that a probem?
    any suggestions?

  • Finally Found a Solution to the Missing Palettes/No Screen update problem!

Ever since CS3 came out, Photoshop and Illustrator in particular (the worst offenders) wouldn't run properl
y on my system unless I did a full reboot before running either. Photoshop would load, but all palettes would be empty. Illustrator would forget t
o update the client area of the screen. Neither application was useable in that state. I have complained about it before, to no avail.
Now I have found the fix: Increasing the User Handle and GDI handle limits in Windows.
Here's an article on how to do this:
Increasing User Handle and GDI Handle Limits
Have you ever been working with a good number of applications at once? Are you a naturally born multi tasker? Alright, answer me this - who has had Windows buckle under the weight of all of these applications and display error messages stating that the system is out of memory or out of resources, buttons and menus do not work correctly, or you get an error sound but no message on the screen? I’ve hit this numerous times, to the point that I’ve lost work because of it…
(By the way, Adobe, can you please implement that little feature that Microsoft Office has had for years known as “auto save”? I don’t know how many times I’ve managed to completely max out Windows designing a web site and have had Photoshop fall over dead and disappear off my screen, only to find out that when I open Photoshop up again that the entire thing saved jack-all, all of those layers and documents gone poof into the void of darkness… if Microsoft can do it, why can’t you?)
Sometimes this happens even when you have a lot of system memory (RAM) still available. For instance, open up Internet Explorer and hold Ctrl+N to open up as many Internet Explorer windows as you can before menus, icons, and menus start displaying incorrectly, disappear, buttons aren’t clickable, etc. Close a few out and check your Windows Task Manager in the “Performance” tab, I bet you will find that a lot of your Physical Memory is still available.

“Okie-dokie, if I have all of this memory still available, why is Windows saying I’m out of memory and out of system resources!?”
Simple. You have hit the “user handle” or “GDI handle” limit in Windows. This limit is there for two reasons:
        * Leaky applications or faulty code & malware can’t easily crash the system by attempting to overflow the system with GDI handles, making everything un-usable until a reboot is performed.
        * To prevent a user from opening up more applications than the system can handle.
If you have 1 gigabyte (or 1024MB) of RAM or higher, the default User Handle and GDI Handle limits can be pretty restrictive when running a large working set of applications that demand the most from your system and tax it heavily.
    “Do you feel my pain?”
Yes, of course. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be writing this article that is more than likely a good 2 or 3 pages in length.
I’m a designer and coder, I use Adobe Photoshop with a lot of documents opened up - on top of that, I usually listen to music while working as it helps me work better, so Windows Media Player 10 is usually open on my machine. Also opened are Windows Messenger, Microsoft Office Outlook 2003, SmartFTP (one of the best FTP clients I’ve ever used, highly recommended), Microsoft Word, a few dozen Internet Explorer windows, some Mozilla Firefox windows with a few tabs opened in each one, and EditPlus 2 for coding.
That’s a pretty heavy working set of applications, and I demand the most out of my computer when it comes to multitasking (I have a Pentium 4 2.66GHz, with 1.5GB of RAM just for those who are wondering).
I too have nailed these handle limits - more than once. After much searching and pondering I have finally come up with a working solution around this issue (hurray!)
“Yeah yeah, stop rambling and cut to the chase!”
First and foremost, I must warn you that modifying these settings incorrectly can render your Windows installation near useless. Also, depending on your computer configuration and the amount of RAM in your system, you may wish to play around with the numbers until you find a setting that is perfect for your computer.
To back up everything, open the Registry Editor (click on Start, Run, and then type “regedit.exe” (without the quotes).
    To backup a registry key:
        * In the Registry Editor on the left hand side, you will see the navigation pane. Using your mouse or keyboard, navigate to the following subkeys:
        * HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\SubSystems
        * HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows
        * Right click on each of the subkeys above in the left hand pane and from the context menu that appears, choose the “Export” option. Save the exported registry data file where ever you wish, but make sure that it will be accessible should we need to restore the files.
“OK, I’ve backed everything up! Now what!?”
Don’t quit the Registry Editor just yet - we still need to make some modifications in order to increase the handle limits in Windows.
With the Registry Editor opened, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\SubSystems. You will notice a set of “REG_MULTI_SZ” and “REG_EXPAND_SZ” keys in the right hand pane. The one that we are interested in modifying is called “Windows”.
To modify the key, double click on it. It should look something like this:
        %SystemRoot%\system32\csrss.exe ObjectDirectory=\Windows SharedSection=1024,3072,512 Windows=On SubSystemType=Windows ServerDll=basesrv,1 ServerDll=winsrv:UserServerDllInitialization,3 ServerDll=winsrv:ConServerDllInitialization,2 ProfileControl=Off MaxRequestThreads=16
The section of this string we are interested in modifting is “SharedSection”.
In the SharedSection part of the string you will notice 3 numbers. What we are interested in is the middle value, “3072?. Modify this value so that the middle number is “8192?.
It should look something like this after modifying the value:
       %SystemRoot%\system32\csrss.exe ObjectDirectory=\Windows SharedSection=1024,8192,512 Windows=On SubSystemType=Windows ServerDll=basesrv,1 ServerDll=winsrv:UserServerDllInitialization,3 ServerDll=winsrv:ConServerDllInitialization,2 ProfileControl=Off MaxRequestThreads=16
Now that we’ve changed this, lets continue, shall we?
In the left hand pane of the Registry Editor, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows. In the right hand side, you will see two REG_DWORD values, named “GDIProcessHandleQuota” and “USERProcessHandleQuota”. We will need to modify both of these.
The first key we will want to modify is “GDIProcessHandleQuota”. This keys value can be set between 256 and 16,384 (maximum), and the default value is 10,000. I’d recommend using 15,000 as a value for this key, however if you are doing a lot of multitasking, shoot for the stars and go with 16,384.
This key can not be set past 16,384 as it is the maximum acceptable value.
Now, lets modify “USERProcessHandleQuota”. This keys value can be set between 200 and 18,000 (maximum), with a default value of 10,000. I’d recommend increasing this value to the same number used with “GDIProcessHandleQuota”, however as previously mentioned if you are working with a hefty application workload, shoot for the stars and go wth the maximum value of 18,000.
This key can not be set past 18,000 as it is the maximum acceptable value.
Do NOT attempt to increase these values past the maximum - Windows will become very unstable and may even stop working correctly. If Windows starts acting up after changing these values, lower them until the issues are resolved, or restore the backups of these keys’ values that we created before making modifications.
Now that you’ve changed these values, restart your computer and tax the system using the Internet Explorer trick mentioned previously - open Internet Explorer and hold down Ctrl+N on your keyboard to open up new Internet Explorer windows. Continue this until menus, buttons, and user interface elements stop working correctly. Also, open any applications you run day-to-day while you are performing this, so that you can get more of an idea if you have everything configured correctly.
You may also want to monitor your memory usage and handles information in Task Manager to see whether or not the above registry values need any more modifications.
I hope this helps with any multi-tasking issues you may have run into while running Microsoft Windows, now get back to work!

You work like I do.  It's very cool that you published this fix for XP people, but yow, what a lot of detailed things to check/set!  Seems like it might just be simpler just to move up to Windows 7...

  • CS3 Bridge finally usable- possible solution for many  problems

After weeks of trying to solve the hosts of problems that made this unusable, I found something that made a difference.
Greatly increasing the camera raw cache from 1 gig to 10, and then 30 as I had plenty of HD space available made a huge difference and I was finally able to get work done with the program.
This was with the advice of an Adobe tech. It amazes me that with so many other tech calls and forum posts no one offered this simple suggestion.
I was able to sort first by label and from there manually, to order the 451 files in a folder to better compare images and make tiffs. I got much done yesterday after such a long period of essential unusablity described in my previous posts.
Perhaps this will help some others.

Do you know the difference between Camera RAW cache and regular cache sites? Why are there two entires? Seems like cache is cache so why do we care if it is RAW or other?
Thank you for providing feedback on the solution to your problem. It will help many others.

  • I Finally Found A Solution To Removing MobileMe Off MacBook

I had posted a question in trying to find some way to disable or remove MobileMe off of the MacBook because I kept getting that MobileMe pop up dialog box telling me to sign in, even though I originally signed up for the 60 day trial of .mac. The account settings from .mac carried over to MobileMe, but I never used the account and forgot about it until I started designing a test website design using iWeb. Every time I tried to publish or visit to test the site, MobileMe box kept popping up and I just wanted to disable it, but couldn't get rid of it. I could not sign in with my original @mac.com name and passwords were not working to deactivate or cancel the account.
My advice here is only for Mac users who are not using MobileMe or don't intend to sign up for the service in the future. If you are using it for your website, then please disregard the procedure.
First, you will need to download a free utility app, Find File. When you run the app, just open it and a dialog box will pop up and the alert will post as: Find items whose name contains: type MobileMe. You will then get a list with many files and their links which are mostly located in the System Library, but there are others and some are invisible unless you use Find File app. Keep trashing the files until you get a "0" list and you will also notice that the MobileMe icon has been removed for the System Preferences. You will also probably have to type in yur Admin password to remove the files.
After all the MobileMe files have been dumped, Repair Permissions, restart and test your various Mac apps and 3rd party software.
I can make no guarantee that my procedure will work in your particular system, so please do this at your own risk. I worried about kernel panics or startup issues, but so far things seem to be OK.
There is also a chance that using iWeb will still try to access MobileMe, so if that happens, we will have to investigate this issue further. I also did the same procedure to dump that annoying iGlasses plug-in 7 day trial that popped up every time I opened iChat and FireFox for over a year! ind File found the iGlasses files and dumped them and finally, hopefully, that plug-in is dead.
Please report back here if you found success in removing MobileMe, only of course if you are sure you don't need it.
    Steve

One more thing I failed to mention. As you find the MobileMe files and their links, you may want to back those up or drop them in a master folder on the desktop and make a list of where in the System/Library they are located. I did this myself just in case I had to reinstall them.
    Thanks
    Steve

  • I found a solution for my "iTunes has stopped working" problem

iTunes was opening ok but would only play music; if I tried doing anything else like importing music or even navigating around it would crash with a "itunes has stopped working" message and shut down.
I uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes twice with no luck. I searched for hours for a solution and finally figured it out.
What the problem was is a corrupt user profile. I determined this by creating a new user account on my computer, opening itunes under this new account, and doing the things that would make it crash under my original account.
Since it worked fine under my new account, I had to then transfer all of my user profile info from my previous account to my new one. Which is kind of a pain in the butt but not too bad.
There are instructions for doing this on the Microsoft site. One thing to make sure if that you setup the new account as an admin (the way I did it, per the instructions, was to setup a third account that transferred the files from the original to the new account) and to share all files under the user profile with "Everyone" so that they can be copied and transferred. I did have trouble trying to copy all of the files at once and paste. It didn't work. So I ended up copying individual folders and pasting them into the new account. You only need to do this with the folders that contain your individual data, e.g. My Music, My Pictures, etc. The way I figured out which folders and files to transfer was trying to open them under the new account. If they wouldn't open, they didn't need to be transferred. Anyway, rely on Microsoft instructions for this, I'm not a computer wiz myself.
Hope this helps someone because it took me a couple of days to figure it out!

Adobe CS4 products were never meant to be transferred. It breaks the licensing and you get this error.
There is a License Recovery tool for the Mac, download that from:
Error "Licensing has stopped working" | Mac OS
For OSX 10.7 and above you can try fixing it using the Python Script and Terminal app. If you succeed, this will save you from Plan B, reinstalling Photoshop and illustrator plus all the updates.
    So basically
    Open Terminal
Type sudo and leave a space
Then download and unpack the LicenseRecovery111 dmg.
Inside you will find the License Recovery folder and inside that you will see "LicenseRecover.py
Drag LicenseRecover.py into the Terminal Window and press "enter"   You should see this:
Enter your admin password. Ignore the fact that the cursor does not move and press Enter again.
Follow the instructions, and when done, you can quit the Terminal.
It should then be repaired. Try starting your programs.

  • Finally. A solution for Installing Audigy 2 drive

Seems to be a fairly common problem that I have seen posted on this board and many others. Here is a solution that I found after a couple hours of trying. This solution is valid as of 3 Jan 2006 for the (SBA2_PCDrvBeta_LB_2_08_0002) driver found in downloads. This solution pertains to Winxp.
    The Problem:
When installing the latest software for Windows Xp I receive a message to the effect that an Audigy 2 has not been detected.
    The solution:
    -Download the drivers.
-download a copy of winrar. There is a free evaluation copy located here http://www.download.com/WinRAR/3000-2250-0007677.html?part=dl-winrar&subj=dl&tag=button
    -Install Winrar
-Open Winrar, locate the Soundblaster file by double clicking on it.
-Select all the files and folders in the soundblaster file.
-extract those files and folders to a known location. (I extract to a file folder that I created on my desktop called "dump" because its easy to find)
-open the file folder and go to the "drivers" sub folder.
-double click on the setup icon.
This installed the new drivers for me. I hope it works for you too! Good luck.
Please post if this works for you, so that others know its a viable fix.

    Eks.
My solution does not pertain to the installation of a new card. Windows actually detected it as an Audigy when I first installed it. It wasnt until I did the autoupdate that it was recognized as an Audigy 2.
However, after it was recognized, the Soundblaster software still did not recognize it as an audigy 2, depite it being list in my device manager.
My guess would be that if one were to install a new audigy, if they downloaded the drivers and extracted them as stated in the first post, they would be able to refer to the driver area and get them installed from there without the SB driver disk.
    Its merely a guess though.

  • Solution for Syncing on Outlook Exchange Server

At my workplace we have Outlook 2003 running on an Exchange Server. Here are the symptoms I was getting:
    1. Calendar events would sync from iPhone to Outlook, but not from Outlook to iPhone.
    2. Sync process would be interrupted by an ApplieMobileSync.exe "exception unknown software exception (0xc00000fd) occurred at ... ". Watching in Task Manager, I noted that this happened whenever the memory usage for that program hit about 150MB.
I tried many of the currently-posted solutions, such as removing recurring appointments, creating a new calendar, downrevving iTunes, etc. to no avail.
HERE IS WHAT WORKED: SET THE "APPLE MOBILE DEVICE" SERVICE TO RUN WITH YOUR NETWORK CREDENTIALS INSTEAD OF USING LOCAL SYSTEM ACCOUNT. This is becuase on an Exchange Server, the calendar really lives on the network server, not on your local machine.
    HOW-TO:
    1. Go into Computer Management (in XP, right-click on My Computer, select Manage, open Services and Applications, and choose Services.
    2. In the list of services, right-click on the Apple Mobile Device service and select Properties. In the Log On tab, select the radio button for "This Account" and enter your network credentials, with your full account name (ex. domain\username) and password.
    3. Restart the service and iTunes. Then try syncing.
I realize this is pretty technical for some users and in some companies you might not even have the right to edit services on your PC. Plus, any time your network requires you to change passwords, you'll have to go into this service an update your credentials. Given these caveats, I consider this more of a WORK-AROUND than a complete SOLUTION, and believe Apple should come up with a way to automatically set up this service in Exchange environments.

What is missing in the section File Info, is the notation of all the processes made on a wave file. It must be in details; apart from the used presets, even the values of the parameters of a plug in must be shown. It would be very comfortable.
