Flash Profiler Kills Flash, Always Loading After Use, Becomes Unusable

Hello,
I have been using the Flash Profiler to fix memory leaks. It seems every time I do two snap shots and looking for lingering objects, as soon as I go back to coding my cursor wont stop loading and Flash Builder is basicly unusable. I have to restart Flash Builder and it works fine. It's a pain because I want to use Flash Profiler to jump to spots of the code and it just will not stop loading whatever it is loading even though I am done with the memory analyis.
Any suggestions?

Is wolfenstein a wine game? If so There are a bunch of optional dependencies for wine. You can see them if you do "pacman -Qi wine" (same for any installed program in Arch unless installed without pacman/PKGBUILD). Some that I have installed are:
lib32-alsa-lib
lib32-libpulse
If the game is a 32 bit windows game running through wine you may need some of these. If that doesn't work you can run it through the pulseaudio wrapper like this: "padsp wine /path/to/game.exe" Where /path/to/game.exe is the path to your wolfenstein executable. You can also check your sound settings with a program called "winecfg" (the defaults work fine for me though). To verify that your game is using pulseaudio there is a program called "pavucontrol" that will tell you all of the programs currently using sound through pulseaudio. Hope that helps.

Flash not loading after install...

Snow Leopard was working perfectly until the most recent update. When I initially upgraded, I updated flash, as we know snow leopard shipped with the previous version of flash. However, after Apple released an update to address flash and other security updates, flash only loads occasionally. I notice more when trying to view youtube videos. The videos don't fully load and I have to constantly try and refresh the page until it eventually loads. Anybody else experiencing this issues or have come up with a solution??

You didn't need to update your flash plugin afer installing SL.
Go here and follow the instructions to UNinstall Flash Player

Then reinstall Flash player.

TestStand always load previously used file on startup

Hi,
I have a problem with my TestStand operator interface (Full featured CVI). When I open TestStand, it loads previously used sequence file by default. How could I turn it OFF.
In my Station Options, Preferences tab, Re-load last workspace at startup was not selected,which I expect Teststand not to load the previous workspace.
The only solution to avoid this problem sofar is Whenever I finish, I have to close the sequence file first and then the teststand window. But this is not possible all the time.
Has anybody have the same problem??

Two issues with that:
a) You would need to get a reference to the ApplicationMgr from your sequence. The next version of TestStand will provide an easy way to get the ApplicationMgr, so this problem will go away. Before the next version, it might not be practical to do this without modifying the OI.
b) By the time your sequence runs, the files are already loaded. The setting change would apply to the next launch of you operator interface, but you would have to explicitly close all the open files when you first changing the setting. In the next version, when you are able to get the ApplicationMgr, this will be doable in one line simple line of code or in one step in a sequence.

Flash CC: Load MovieClip using button

Im here because im really stuck, and i need to finish my job quiclky.
I never used FLash CC, I always used Flash 8... So much easy to load clips etc.

assign your button an instance name (done same way in cc as flash 8 - eg, history_btn) and assign your library movieclip a class (right click the library symbol >click properties>tick export for actionscript>enter a class name in the class field - eg, HistoryClass). then in the actions panel, use:

My adobe Flash wont load after installing the upgrade to firefox 6..how can i get it to work?

i play the facebook games and i need to have adobe flash for it to work and when i upgraded the firefox to 6 the adobe doesnt download..i ve tried it many times and it wont download..

Symantec need to update their Firefox add-ons so that they are compatible with Firefox 4. They have indicated that for Norton 360 they plan to release an update to Norton 360 to support Firefox 4 in early May - http://us.norton.com/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20100720113635EN&ln=en_US
I do not know about the time scale for updates for other Norton products. Pending the update by Symantec, if you want to use the Norton add-ons you will need to downgrade to Firefox 3.6.
To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.

Can't install demo of Flash Catalyst CS5 after using Beta

I'm about to start pulling my hair out, so hopefully you guys can help me out.
I installed the Flash Catalyst beta about a month ago, and unfortunately never got around to using it.
I downloaded the CS5 Production Premium trial last night and went to install that and it said it couldn't install Flash Catalyst CS5 because I had a pre-release version installed.
So I backed out of the CS5 suite installer and attempted to run the uninstaller for the Flash Catalyst pre-release version from both the Flash Catalyst folder AND the utliities>>Adobe installers folder. Neither application would run, so I ran AppDelete to delete the application and its files.
Apparently, that was not good enough, as the CS5 suite installer is still complaining that a prerelease version of Flash Catalyst is still installed and won't let me install the newer version.
I have looked all over my system for Flash Catalyst related files to remove, but the CS5 installer still thinks the pre-release is installed.
Help in resolving this issue would be much appreciated, and hopefully this is in the right forum.

Or, have you tried reinstalling Catalyst and running the uninstaller again?

USB Flash Drive Erased after using on MBP?

I use a Kingston Data Traveler flash drive (256mb) on my Dell PC. I plugged it into my new MBP last night to print out 4 Word Documents. After trying to open them from the flash drive folder (and getting the same error message I get when trying to open a Word file from the desktop), I opened Word and opened the documents from the File menu in Word, printed, ejected my drive, and thought all was well.
Today, I inserted my Kingston into my Dell and was met with a message saying "This disk is not formatted." After trying to open docs in Word, the message read: "This disk is not formatted or has been formatted for a Macintosh."
When I tried to access my files on the MBP, the computer tells me "This disk could not be read."
The folks at AppleCare are blaming Word. I have no idea what to think. All I know is that this drive worked perfectly until I inserted it into the MPB. Has this happened to anyone else? What are my options for salvaging my data?

Sounds like you accidently reformatted the drive HFS+, so the data may sadly be gone for good. If you didn't backup the files on the flash drive, say onto the Dell's HD, as well, then you should probably do so in future.

IPhoto does not load after using camera

Hi,
I tried to downloan pics from a Sony camera, and since then I can't use iPhoto. It opens but then I get this message 'loading photos' that stays up forever and in the end nothing happens. I don't want to use the camera anymore, I just want to see my old pics.
Any suggestion?

Let me see if I understand your question. You connected a Sony to download photos. Did you get the photos into your iPhoto?
Some Sonys create a camera/disk icon on the desktop that needs to be ejected (dragged to the trash) BEFORE you disconnect the camera....I have done this, and it seems to be ok, but you may receive the message that you did not remove the device properly and may have damaged it.
Am I correct that you had other photos in iPhoto, and that now you cannot get iPhoto to load any of your photos?
Try this: close iPhoto, go to User->Library->Preferences->com.apple.iPhoto.plist and drag that plist into the trash.
Repair permissions using Disk Utility.
Relaunch iPhoto and see if it opens now.
Post back if these suggestions didn't work.
Also, next time you download from a camera, use Image Capture ( in your applications folder) to get the photos into your computer, and then import them into iPhoto.

Pages are not loading after using for 20 min so i have to use task maneger to shut it down and restart

i can download for about 20 min then i try to go to another page by opening a new tab or using a bookmark Firefox totally freeze's up so i have to close down and go into the task mngr and shut down the process for firefox and restart because if i do not do that it will not open back up i am using vista home pro on a 64 bit system please help this very bothersome

This issue can be caused by an extension or plugin that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

Safari loads and the crashes after using Private Browsing

I am finding that Safari won't load after using private browsing. After switching off private browsing, I load Safari but as soon as it appears on the screen, it crashes. No matter how many times I start it up, it will always disappera.
The only way to fix it is to shut down and then start up the iPad again.
Anyone know why this is happening?

If you search the discussion site, you will find a number of threads regarding crashing issues with Safari since the iOS 5 update. It seems to be more prevalent in the iPad 1 - which I have and I experience crashes as well - but I have seen no definitive solution.
I have read that from some users that you should turn off bookmark syncing with iCloud, turn off private browsing, restart the iPad .... but nothing I have tried has eliminated the problem.
For now, it seems to be - whatever works for you is the "fix" until it really gets fixed.

Flash Builder 4.0.1 profiler doesn't always start correctly

Hi,
I'm using Flash Builder 4.0.1 Premium to profile my application but the profiler doesn't always start (hook) correctly. Sometimes it works at first try, sometimes I have to restart the profiler up to 10 times before it finally hooks.
It's very annoying and waste of time. Do you have any solution for this?

Everything is set up correctly with the path folder - as this error occurs with an empty, blank, default AIR app built via "new".
I believe this is an error with 4.0.1 - as when I installed 4.5 demo (on OS X); this problem doesn't exist and I had no problems building an AIR app.
So either there's a problem with my version/copy/install of Flash Builder or it has something to do with the AIR/FB/and VMWare/Win7.

Hello,
Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.

OpenGL graphic flash after using side volume buttons

I'm working on an OpenGL game based on the Crashlanding framework in Apple's code examples. I'm experiencing a one frame flash if you use the side volume controls during the game and Apple's graphic feedback overlays on top of the game view. Everything is fine when the overlay is up and begins to fade out but for 1/30th of a second after the fadeout concludes the screen appears to flash black. After further review what is happening is that the underlying game image is being cropped by the bounding rectangle of the OS-generated volume overlay. Anybody have a clue what is causing this and what I can do to prevent it?
Any help would be appreciated.
