Fraudulent credit card charges and no way to conta...

So my credit card has been used to purchase skype credit, and it has shown up on my posted transactions. I called my credit card company and they said they can't do anything until I prove and show that I have communicating back and forth with regarding this specific issue. I cancelled my credit card and got a new one, but how can I show that I've been communicating back and forth with skype when they don't offer any communication outlets besides this forum? They do not offer phone service or email service.

Skype is aware of continued problems with the website when contacting their customer service agents. If you experience difficulty reaching Skype Customer Service or find yourself redirected back to the Community, please try again using a different web browser and - important - choosing a different path through the various drop-down menu options presented. Also, look to approve a pop-up dialogue box which would connect you to start an instant message chat with a customer service agent.   • Fraudulent Credit Card Charge on iTunes Account

    I saw a few of these posts and wanted to let folks know that if you get unauthorized charges on your iTunes account you should do the following:
    1.  Have all your info ready and available to discuss with an Apple Rep.
    2.  Call the Apple Corporate number: 408.996.1010
    3.  Be prepared to go through a couple of folks as they get you to the very sharp fraud folks...a shout-out to Justin who helped us on our charges!
    4.  Contact your bank (again, because hopefully you contacted them prior to making the call to Apple) and close the card used to make the charges.
    We had two charges of $39.98 show-up on our account as 'Pending'.  After talking to our bank we were directed to speak to Apple because they (the bank) couldn't do anything until the charge went throguh (still don't understand that part...I'm sure it's a bank thing).  I came to this forum and found a post that said to go to the 'Support' page, click on the 'Contact Us' and notify Apple.  It appeared many users were frustrated because all they could find was an e-mail channel to contact Apple.  I saw the corporate info in the upper right hand corner and used that number...pretty easy to find and very easy to navigate the phone robots...:)
    I was transferred from the operator, to an iTunes tech (named Ashley who was very helpful), to her supervisor Justin who handled the fraud claim.  Justin worked through the account, ID'd the card being used, found that TWO separate bogus accounts were set-up using our credit card (hence the two separate $39.98 charges), also found that the charges had cleared (where our statement and the bank saw it as pending), refunded our account the two charges, disabled the two accounts that were set-up with our card, and then removed the compromised card information from our iTunes account.
    After the Apple assistance we called our bank, explained what happened and what Apple did, and closed the card and requested a new one.
    So this pretty frustrating and scary incident turned out to be easily rectified...we're very happy with the excellent customer service from Justin and the entire Apple team.
    Now if there was just some way to nuke the lazy scum bags that hack accounts and steal money from people who actually earn it!...;~)

  • Credit card charged and no credits

    Hi , my credit card keeps getting charged every month and no credits are showing up in my Skype account. This is the second month in a row this has happened ! Can someone please tell me where where I can personally SPEAK to someone and sort this issue out !!!!

  • I have an iPad original and want to buy a magazine subscription, but I don't want my credit card charged, and have iTunes credit in my account from iTunes cards..

    Would my credit card still be charged? Or would iTunes credit be taken off?
    (I'm hoping that my credit card wouldn't be charged).
    PS: the magazine subscription is 3.99$ and I have 24$ in my account.

    I used to download apps with Apple ID on my Iphone without any problems until I used such ID to download appl on my new iphone. The problem was:
    + After signing in ID and password to download apps from store in my new iphone, I was requested to confirm my credit card information. All credit card infos appear except security code which I need to fill in. There is also a notification that the reason for asking my confimation is that this ID had been used for downloading apps on other devices.
    + Then, my credit card was deducted with 01 USD, despite that the appl downloaded is free one.
    + Checking credit card information in my account, I found that there is not any information about my credir card ( the field for filling credit card infos left blank) 
    So, I need your help to answer 2 question?:
    + Is that normal if I have to pay for credit card infos when downloading Apps in more than one devices ? If not, what was 01 USD above paid for?
    + Why there is no credit card infos in my account but I was still charged with that credit cards, and credit card infos that appear when asking me to confirm is right? There must be another place to keep card infos. Where is it ?

    I replied to them for a waiver., and they reply with quite a similar email again, without helping.
    The customer service IMO just use a template to answer question. Refer me back to the developer , which is apple itself

    Hello I post here because I couldn't find the place to post my own problem. Yesterday I added credit to Skype, $ 10 was taken from my account, but no minutes were given to me... what do I do? I wish I could either talk or chat to somebody about it.

  • I bought a $50.00 dollar Itune card and redeemed my card on Itunes and I went to the apple store to get some music and I was asked for my credit card info and was charged not only on my credit card but on the itunes card as well $ 8.65

    Hi, It seems my credit card was charged twice for my subscription. However, I'm not able to convert my pdf document into word. When I try and do this it just asks me to subscribe, even though I'm signed in. I tried to cancel one of my subscriptions and ended up in an annoying holding pattern where the available comments said to contact the adobe team, but when I went to the website where this contact was supposedly possible it directed me back to the community.

  • My account has been hacked and my credit card charged by the hacker

    My account has been hacked and my credit card charged by the hacker and all Skype has to say about it, is that I need to wait 72 hours for them to look at my query? I cannot log into my account. I have filled in the support form, but I haven't received an email notification from Skype that I have submitted it. I'm guessing that's because my account is now in the use of someone else, as the hacker changed the account over to his email address. I know he did that, as I got a notification of changing the email address at the same moment as I was logged out of Skype.  I use Skype professionally and this issue is causing me a world of trouble. The fact that Skype is a paid service ought to mean that there is better support than 'we will look at it within 72 hours.' 

    So nearly 24 hours later, and still no information either in this forum or via email notification from Skype.  Does this mean that Skype is instead communicating with the person who hacked my account? Since the hacker now has my account registered with their email address, It seems that's the most likely situation, given the unparallelled course of incompetence I'm experiencing from them.  If Skype had taken action on this right away (the moment I made the complaint, which was minutes after my account was hacked) the charge that the hacker made on my credit card would not be lost due to his usage of my account. But apparently, stopping fraud is so low on Skype's agenda that this can go on and on. If I had not been on Skype when it happened (prompting me to instantly block my credit card) there would have been nothing to stop the hacker from making multiple charges to my card, potentially running into the hundreds of dollars.  Instead of action to deal with my problems, I'm receiving notifications that I have earnt 'a new rank' in the Skype community. Whoop-dee-bleedin'-doo!

    How do I cancel a credit card account and just use my i tunes card?  Every time I try to use my i tunes card, it reverts back to the credit card account which I do not want to use.

    If you do not have your card registered to your iTunes Store account, then these are most likely fraudulent charges to your credit card directly rather than an unauthorized purchase through your iTunes Store account. Report the charges as fraudulent to your bank. They will probably cancel your existing credit card and issue you a new one.

  • HT201209 I went onto my computer and set up an account...I entered my gift cards where it said redeem and there is $40 on my account.  However,I have no idea how to use it.  I read that I can take my credit card out and just use the itunes card but again

    I went into the computer and set up my account, I then went to where you enter the gift card info to redeem the money and my account says I have $40...however, when I go and try to use it I can not figure out how to do so.  I also read that I can remove my credit card info and just use Itune cards...but again i can not figure out how to do this. 
    This is very frustrating because something so simple is turning into an all day fiasco!

    Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing.  The iTunes Store will automatically recognize the credit you applied.  You can find the details of how iTunes Store purchases are billed below:
    Order of iTunes billing methods
    When making purchases, content credits are used first, followed by Gift Certificate, iTunes Card, or Allowance Account credits; your credit card or PayPal account is then charged for any remaining balance.
    When you buy individual songs from the iTunes Store:
    Free song credits are redeemed first.
    If you have no free song credits, gift certificate, prepaid card, and allowance credits are used next.
    If your gift certificate, prepaid card, and/or allowance credit is less than the total cost of the purchase, your credit card is billed for the remaining balance.
    If you have no free song credits or gift certificates, prepaid cards, or allowance credits, your credit card is billed for the songs you buy.
    When you buy an album on the iTunes Store:
    Gift certificate, prepaid card, and allowance credits are used first.
    If your gift certificate, prepaid card, or allowance credit is less than the total cost of the purchase, your credit card is billed for the remaining balance. Note: Free song credits cannot be used for album purchases.

  • HT1918 Do you know how to change your credit card details and Country on Itunes? It wont let me!!! Help!!!

    I am trying to change my credit card details on Itunes as I have moved to NZ and closed down the credit card in Australia. There is $5 left to pay on the card. It will not let me update my address to NZ or put in my new credit card details. HELP!!!!!
    It says I have to provide a credit card in the Australia before I can clear my $5 credit card debt and I have now cancelled my card in Australia and don't have another one!
    Do you know how I can change my address to NZ and then change my billing to my new credit card in NZ and pay the $5 bill.
    Do I have to shut down my account or reapply to Itunes with a new email address and leave this bill outstanding!! Seems crazy........but cant seem to see any other way around it!
