Fraudulent insurance plan

I went into verizon in August 2012 since the mi-fi was not working . I has originally gotten it in Jan 2011.  I was told I needed to update.  I decided to update my phone at the same time. The rep stated that they now had an insurance plan that you pay a one-time rate of 129.00 and if you don't use it in a 12 month period verizon will reimburse your money and give you 50% of what your old phone or device toward a new device. so OK I get the insurance plan on both the new phone and the mi-fi.  So first my new phone dies, just goes black while I am on a call , wont turn on or off, nothing.  I take it in on a Friday morning, after working all night Thursday.  It takes about an hour on the phone at the store to be told that they will overnight a refurbished phone to me.  Thank god the rep at the store sent me with a little loaner phone because it was 4 days until the other phone arrived, I sent the unfunctioning phone back to them the same day.  I was sent notice after notice for about 3 months to send the phone back, If I hadn't already.  Then my mi-fi quits charging at home. so I unplug it and take it in to the store, tell them it is not charging, they plug it in and it comes on, then when they go to unplug it the little metal sheath comes out, so they call the warranty department since it has been less than a year, they state it is not covered because it is physical damage, even though it never did that at home, just in the store was the first time.  so they call another department and they tell me it will be $100 to file a claim.  So why did I get the $129.00 insurance plan? I walked out of the store without doing anything so now I pay for a large 10GB mi-fi plan every month and can't even get mi-fi.  I am so discussed with verizon that I am on the verge of going with a complete different company.  I am not at all happy with the insurance plan.  I feel it is false advertising.

  If I had to make a quess, the $129 charge was if the unit failed due to a manufacturer defect, not something they are calling a user caused problem. What was the name of the place that you went to? There are a lot of "Authorized Verizon Reseller" stores that look pretty much like Verizon stores themselves...

    There is no insurance available through AT&T for iPhone (apparently soon there will be). You can purchase the Apple Care Protection Plan (through Apple), which will boost your service coverage from 90-day phone and 1 yr. technical support. To 2 full years on both. This covers hardware and software issues, but like most plans like this it does not cover water damage, or if you happen to drop your phone and crack the screen.
    But it is great in case your buttons have issues, or your phone dies on you (had both happen)
    I highly recommend getting the Apple Care Protection Plan.

  • The Best Lost/Stolen Insurance Plan?

    My carrier is ATT and I want to purchase insurance just in case of my new 5s being lost or stolen.  I understand ATT uses Asurion to cover lost/stolen phones.  However, I have read a number of complaints that they often substitute the phone for whatever is available.  Like if I lose my 5s they may send me a 4s, 5c, or god-forbid some junky knockoff thing called Android.  I will be keeping the 5s only one year until upgrading to the 2014 iPhone.  Has anyone had any experience with Asurion and actually had them provide a different phone within one year of that iPhone's release?
    Any help at all or even in general about Asurion or another company I could use would be very helpful!  I love to handout answer points!

    So, how is the fact that some credit card companies have amazing (and free) lost/stolen coverage programs, have NOTHING to do with your 'original question'?
    Everyone already knows it?  Not really.  A friend of mine works for a bank, and there are literally thousands upon thousands of customers that have no idea that their credit card company has that option.
    Name a better option than 'Free, and guarantees the same device, or an upgrade if that device is no longer available, or the original purchase price if no upgrade exists'?
    There isn't one.  And if you knew of it, then why would you ask?

  • Need to delimit an insurance plan

    Hello, I currently need to delimit a life insurance plan that is no longer in use.  I am in the "Define Insurance Plan General Data" section of SPRO.  When I choose the plan, and then the delimit button, a screen pops up asking for a date.  But what happens with this date is that it becomes the start date of a new date range (i.e 10/01/2008-12/31/9999) for the plan, as if I made a change to the plan.  This is not what I want.  What am I doing wrong? Is there a more appropriate way to do this? Please advise. Thanks

    It's showing a date range because going forward your plan is closed.
    For example:
    From your Beg date thru 10/13/2008  your plan is open and then
    as of 10/14/2008 thru 12/31/9999 you still have the plan but the status is now closed.

    No, the insurance covers only the original phone.  It will not cover the Palm Pre and will replace the original phone.  At this point it would be more cost effective to drop the insurance and save the 6 or 7 dollars a month towards a new phone.  You may also be eligible for an upgrade if you have had your current phone for 2 years....

    for the coverage varaint I have defined it as DESG & DEMA. Its coverage for single and married employee. Like if single employee died in the course of work, they will be compensate 20 times of their salary and as for married employees they will be compensate 30 times of their salary.
    As for the cost variant, I make use of smoker/non-smoker whereby the premium paid is different.
    Hence i have 4 cost variant for:
    Single employee that smokes
    Single employee that do not smokes
    Married employees that smokes
    Married employees that do not smokes
    When assigning insurance plan attribues, under the coverage option, i cant use the same name but the problem is my single employee whether they smokes or not they will be compensate 20 times of their salary. How do I configure this?

    Is there a particul;ar reason why you need to have 2 cost variant then for Single employee if they get the same thing whether the smoke or not?
    I suppose in this case 3 variants will be enough, no?

    1. Configure the Plan Type for the Insurance Plan.
    2. Configure the Insurance Plan
    3. Coverage Grouping ( if needed )  - Different coverage based on Employee IT0001 information / IT171 Grouping.
    4. Configure the Coverage Variant - If coverage varies by ( Parameter grouping ) Gender, Age, Smoker, Length of Service,
    5. Configure the Coverage where one specify the actual cost per unit of coverage ( example 0.25 cents per $ 1000 coverage ).
    Path for above items...
    Personnel Mgmt ---> Benefits ---> Plans -
    > Insurance Plans....

    Notice that in enrollment screen, I've clicked the adjustment reason, the plan screen is blank, I click the "error" button - there is message indicating that "wage type for salary calculation base does not exist".

    Hi,
    Iu2019m new on Benefit.  We have different benefit programs maintained in the table V_T5UBT.  All benefit programs share one insurance plan (Insurance plan 1) through the table V_T5UBU. Now, we get a change request for the insurance plan 1, but this change request is only for one of the benefit programs. 
    Question:
    Is there any way NOT to create new insurance plan , but just change the Insurance rule or variant for one of benefit programs only?  Thanks.

    I assigned grouping but i am confused here.I received employee cost,cost factor,base unit ,employer credit,credit factor details in cost rule node.
    Where i need to enter above coverage details???

  • Benefit - Question on EOI configuration for Insurance plan

    I have a question related to Evidence of Insurability under Insurance Plan.
    The requirment is that when an EE enrolls into an Insurance plan within 30days of DOH then EE doesn't need to provide EOI otherwise if EE enrolls into the plan after 30days then its mandatory to provide EOI. Could you please help me on how to set this condition when configuring EOI?

    Hi DF, Thanks for the comment.
    Actually the requirement is, the EOI to be provided by EE is determined by DOH. Under garce period it determines the period when the EE should return EOI.
    In our case, the EE don't have the provide EOI when they enroll within 30 days of DOH and they must provide if they enroll after 30days.

  • Add Beneficiaries to Insurance Plans

    Hello,
    We have entered family members/dependents using IT 0021.  When we go to add beneficiaries to the insurance plans, the family members do not appear.  I have found that it depends on what date the family member/dependent was created versus the date the insurance plan was created.  If I change the date of the insurance plan to the date the family member/dependent was created, the family member appears with the column to add the percentage.  However, if I save it, the insurance plan date will change and this is not acceptable.
    Example:  Insurance plan date 01/01/2005
    Family member/dependent date 08/01/2010. 
    In the above example, when I view the insurance plan, the date 01/01/2005 appears with no family members/dependents.  On this same screen, if I change the date to 08/01/2010 the family member appears and the date of the insurance plan is changed, if I save it.
    What is the best practice for adding beneficiaries that have previously been created with a creation date other than the creation date of the insurance plan?  I do not want to change the date of the insurance plan, however, some family members/dependents were created after the creation of the insruance plan.

    You need to add the dependents to the any Plan as and when the record starts.  This is the best practice.
    Ex: Your Insurance plan starts 01/01/2005, but say the employee got married on 08/01/2010, in this case you can not add his wife as a dependent from the insurance plan start state 01/01/2005 as he got married on 08/01/2010 and prior to that he is single, so the system will not allow you to or show you the wife record as on 01/01/2005.
    Same way he got a child after his marriage say 10/08/2011, this also you should not save as dependent from 01/01/2005 as this child is not at all exists from that date.
    I think yuou can understand.

    I tried it. It throwed an error that table declaration that I had done for infotype 41(PA0041)  in the benefit userexit is not applicable. The message was the table has already been declared in ZXBEU20. But if do not declare, my existing code in the benefit userexit does not work.
    Also my question is, am I adopting the right approach, because this userexit(in the debug mode) only stops when I am in the benefit infotypes like 167, 168 for an employee. Being in infotype 168, am I able to grab the infotype 41 data for that employee?

    Which insurance plan did you guys get?  I don't know whether to get the plan from verizon or a third party.  Suggestions?  Also, I'm not sure if there is really a difference between the two through verizon; it appears that they both cover about the same thing, but one is $1 more?

    that is not two ins plans on vzw...the 9buck one is asurion ins only with your factory warranty of 1 year... the 10 buck one is both the asurion warranty and the 1. 99 extended warranty bundled...if you are worried you may lose your phone at present only asurion and MAYBE SOM homeowners policies will cover it...if you are worried about drops and spills then look in to the squaretrade... square trade is for one replacement though(basically) ...and I am not sure if you can buy it for the replacement...

  • Help, please - Combined Limits and Expressions for Insurance Plans

    I seem to be configuring something incorrectly using the Combined Limits and Expression in the IMG.  I was wondering if somebody has used this successfully and can give me some pointers?  I've used it successfully when I've limited a plan to coverage of not more than 50% of the coverage for another plan, but I can't seem to get it to work for my current requirement.  Here is my current requirement:
    I have 2 life insurance plans, one basic and one supplemental.  The supplemental can only be elected if the basic plan is elected, so the basic plan would be the priority plan.  The individual maximum allowable coverage amount for each plan is $3,000,000, which is configured under the coverage rules.  However, the combined limit between the 2 plans is also 3,000,000.  A person can have the basic plan only and have the full 3 mil, or they can have both plans and must not go over the 3 mil between the 2 plans.  The basic plan is 1x but the supp plan can be 1x - 8x so it is very possible that the basic will not hit the limit, but the supp will. 
    I tried to set the combined limit of 3,000,000 for the 2 plans using the 2 pieces of the combined limits config, but I've tried everything, and it does not cut them back.
    Can anyone tell me step by step how to configure this, or do I need to enable and develop a user exit?

    This should not be a problem.
    Firstly, have you set the Basic plan as a corequisite for your optional plan?
    Benefits--> Flexible Administration -->Prerequisites and Corequisites --> Define Corequisite Plans;
    Choose your secondary plan from the drop-down; then define your primary plan as the corequisite.  In most instances, selecting the 'Any plan required' radio button  should to the trick.
    Now for the combined limits:
    This is a 2-step process.
    1:  Define Combined Coverage Limits.
    Choose your Optional life plan, and enter the following:  Limit Amount -- 3,000,000; Rel. Operator :  >=
    REPEAT FOR BASIC PLAN AS WELL!!!!
    When you save this, your resulting screen should read something like this :  OPTL     Optional Life Limit   3,000,000   0.000  >=
    2:Define Combined Coverage Limit Expressions
    Select your Optional life plan.
    Enter the following in the table:
    1.00  |  Basic Life Plan
    1.00  |  Optional Life Plan
    Again, do the same for the Basic plan.
    the combination of these two steps  creates the following equation:
    3,000,000 >= 1* Basic Life + 1* Optional Life.

  • Curve 8530 - Replacement insurance plan issues, need help

    I have had a Blackberry Curve contract for 2 years. When I signed on in Jan/09, I took the replacement insurance plan and have been paying $10/month for the “no phone regrets” replacement plan. The phone was replaced with an 8530 under insurance in July/10 because of tracker ball problems.
    In November/10 The LCD of the new phone was slightly squeezed by the gear shift lever of our car. The LCD cover was not broken and there was no apparent symptoms for a few days; but eventually a strip of colour appeared on the LCD.
    The phone was still fully functional and I resigned myself to living with the blemish for another year until the contract expired.
    About 2 months later (Jan/11) the phone began shutting off during conversations. The battery takes a full charge and will do standby a full day without much draw down. I have tested the battery by keeping the LCD light on for a full ½ hour with only 10% battery consumed. But when I get a phone call, the unit shuts off, then automatically restarts and shows “battery to low for radio use”.
    I have taken it to the supplier expecting coverage from the ongoing insurance program. However, they do not want to replace the phone because there is “physical damage” - namely the pixel blemish on the LCD.
    The phone has never been abused or wet. The supplier claims that the pixel blemish represents physical damage even though the cover is not broken.
    Is their position reasonable? Is the phone shutting down because of the pixels blemish; or is there another cause?
    Any comments will be much appreciated. Thank you.

    Given what you describe, my guess is that anything is possible here...but truly diagnosing across an internet-distance is not possible. Only with hands-on could someone perhaps come to a conclusion on the situation.
    Regardless, it would be moot -- your insurance provider is 100% in control of determining if this is covered or not. You can dispute this ruling, of course -- but you do that with them. I suggest escalating with them via whatever appeals process they have. From your description, I think you have a good case -- not rock solid, but more along the lines of "it could go either way"...you need to find someone there who will come down your way rather than the ruling so far received. You can appeal to their sense of helping a longstanding good paying customer as well...if that does any good.
