Frozen Screen When Creating a Shared Review

I am trying to create a shared review through a network folder, however, it freezes with the following message box: "Status: Creating shared folder location...". This is the first time this has happened, as I have been able to create a shared review many times before using the same network folder. Can anybody help me with this issue? Thanks in advance.

I am trying to create a shared review from an Adobe 9 pdf, however, it freezes with the following message box: "Status: Creating shared folder on acrobat.com". This is the first time I have tried using Acrobat.com to share and collaborate on documents.  When I click "next" from the initial Shared Review screen my understanding is that I should be prompted for my username and password for Acrobat.com but I do not get that prompt.  "Authenticating Adobe ID..." and "Communicating with Acrobat.com..." messages flash on the scren and then the Shared Review dailog screen that asks for "Delivery Method, To: CC:, etc." comes up. I fill in the fields and then it attempts to connect but never makes the connection and returns the above message and I hit the retry button but it never completes.  Can anybody help me with this issue? Thanks in advance.

  • Acrobat Pro 10.1.13 Hangs when sending for shared review

    Hi all,
    The company where I work has recently upgraded from Design Standard CS3 to CS6. While this has fixed the numerous problems with Indesign, Acrobat's shared reviews still give me trouble.
    In the past if i tried to do a shared review and send the emails from within acrobat, it would crash. I was resigned to a lifetime of never using this feature and saving the files to my hard drive and then manually sending the email with a link.
    After the installation of Acrobat 10.1.3, there is a new problem.
    I can create a shared review and send the emails through acrobat but it never completes the sending. The odd thing is, it does make the review file, copy it to the correct location and sends the email. The only way to get out of Acrobat is to make it crash. It gets stuck at the screen below.
    This is marginally better than what i use to use as it at least sends the email but it isnt ideal.
    I have tried different network locations with different length directory names and also the root directory, but i get the same result. Only once has it done it without a problem.
    Has anyone else had this problem and is there a solution?

    Everyone else has the same problem with sending review emails in Acrobat.
    Do you mean an Adobe profile or Windows 7 User Profile?

  • How to create a shared review without an internal server

    I have Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, and I'm trying to create a shared review where myself and 2 colleagues can make edits and add comments to the same PDF simultaneously. Basically, we're all tasked with editing the document and have to work on it at the same time, but need one finished product at the end.  I've tried the "send for email review" option, and my colleagues have tried making edits and sending it back to me, but when I click on "track reviews," there's nothing there, so I can't figure out how to integrate their edits with mine (so there are now 3 separate documents with different edits). When I try "send for shared review", the only option it gives me is via internal server, which I don't have access to. Any recommendations would be helpful!

    Well Roy,
    I was also facing some similar problem, just now got my service displayed in portal. Thanks a lot that you could solve it urself. Anyway, now for using this service from another portal component do the following
    1. Add SharingReference value in Deployment Descriptor of the portal app from where u want to access this service
    example:
    <application-config>
    <property name="SharingReference"       value="com.customer.training.MyFirstPortalApp">
    </property>
    </application-config>
    2. Add libraries of the Portal Service (xxxapi.jar)
    in your par file u can see one jar file as <servicename>api.jar . extract this to some other location and in the client portal app project add this .jar to its build path.
    3. Write code to access the Portal Service
        a. Import package of the Portal Service
        b. Get instance of the Portal Service
        c. Call methods of the Portal Service
    example:IPortalRuntimeResources runtimeResources =      PortalRuntime.getRuntimeResources();
    IService aService = runtimeResources.getService("com.customer.training.MyFirstPortalApp.MyService");
    // OR
    IService aService = runtimeResources.getService(IMyService.KEY);
    // Cast the Service
    IMyService myService = (IMyService)aService;
    // call methods of the service
    response.write(myService.getWelcomeString(aName));
    thats how it should be...

  • Document message bar not visible when participating in Shared Review

    Hi,
    I have initiated a Shared Review using Acrobat Pro 8
    Immediately after I finished sending out the notification to other reviewers, the _Review.pdf version of the document is opened for me and the Document Message bar is visible. Therefore I have the option to check for new comments, publish comments.
    My colleagues however, when they open the pdf file attachment from their email notification they get the message: "This document has been sent by a user of Acrobat 8.0 Professional for your review. To participate in this review Acrobat 8.0 standard or professional, or later, is required" Pressing OK on that message box opens up the PDF file to be reviewed however the Document Message bar is not visible (there is no Document Message bar icon on the left pane either.). Therefore my colleagues cannot publish their comments.
    I also encountered the same issue. After I close my PDF and re-open it, I cannot see the Document Message bar, eventhough I can still see my Review Tracker and the document still listed there.
    So, what did I do wrong? I started the shared review by following the prompts:
    1. Comments > Send for Shared Review
    2. Enable reviewers with Reader to participate
    3. Select a network drive to store the shared comments
    4. Select the document to be reviewed
    5. I've experiment with all the different send notifications options
    6. I specified the email address of the reviewers and sent the invite
    Thanks a lot for the help..

    Does this happen with one particular document or with all your reviews?

  • Frozen screen when downloading

    Hi
    I was trying to download a theme for my daughters phone and the screen has frozen saying "please wait". Now I can't get off it to cancel or buy another app. I have closed the phone down. I don't want to have to reboot her phone again as she loses stuff on it
    Can anyone help. It's a curve 9320
    Thanks

    Hi and Welcome to the Community!
    Sorry, but you're going to need to clarify..."closed the phone down"??? Exactly what is that, please? Depending on what that is, you may already have forced a reboot.
    But, that concerns me more...you say she loses stuff...a reboot should never cause that, and doing so would indicate to me much greater problems. I do hope she is practicing good backup procedures...for I fear she is headed for disaster and total data loss if not...you can find procedures for that in my auto-sig on this post.
    So, anyway, I actually do recommend a reboot...into Safe Mode:
    KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode
    It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, see if the theme got installed...if so, remove it. If not, attempt to reboot into normal mode and see how things are.
    Good luck and let us know!

  • Frozen screen when iPod unplugged

    I have a generation 2 iPod and it will say it's charged on the computer and then as soon as you unplug it from the computer (properly ejected) the screen will freeze with half the screen showing. Then you can't do anything. I plugged it back into the computer and the do not disconnect sign goes on and you can't press anything. I tried resetting it an nothing happens. the last time I unplugged it trying to make it work, the screen froze and then slowly faded away. I plugged it back into the computer and the 'do not disconnect' comes back on. Very frustrating. This is brand new.

    I tried resetting it several times. It says it's charged and works fine when plugged into the computer, but as soon as I remove the usb cable then the screen kind of goes half black and freezes. I tried resetting it from this point, but the screen just slowly fades away and the only way to get anything back on it is to plug it back into the computer.

  • Frozen screen when waking

    Since I updated to 10.10 Yosemite I find it impossible to unlock my Mac after Sleep mode: I can wake the screen ando move the mouse pointer but it never shows me the unlock screen.

    I am having the same issue with my Late 2012 27" iMac. Its very frustrating every time I wake my Mac up it just goes to a black screen and cannot get to my desktop. I have tried turning off requiring a passcode, resetting PRAM, fixing permissions in disk utility, and restarting multiple times. This has to be a major bug with Yosemite never before have I had this issue.

  • Tab displayed twice in MIGO screen when created by a BADI

    Hello all
    i have created a tab in MIGO transaction  using the BADI  MB_MIGO_BADI  n the method PBO_DETAIL. but the tab is displayed twice . In debugging i saw the badi is being called twice. But i 'm not understanding why the badi is called twice  .
    can anybody give me reason on why the tab is displayed twice..
    thanks in advance
    pavan

    Hi,
    I have not used this BADI before.
    Edit: See the sample code in method "PBO_DETAIL".
    data: ls_extdata type migo_badi_example_screen_field.
    * This check is obligatory, otherwise the program flow is incorrect
    * (If there would be more than one implementation of BAdI MB_MIGO_BADI,
    *  only one subscreen would be displayed).
      check i_class_id = gf_class_id.
    Have you added this code in your implementation?

  • How can I create a shared review using a web-based mail account?

    I believe I should be able to do this using Acrobat 11 for Windows XP (I have the trial version), but I can't figure out how. We use Google Mail. Help says to:
    (Windows) Double-click Internet Options in the Control Panel. In the Internet Properties dialog box, select the Programs tab, and then select the preferred email application. Restart Acrobat to activate the change.
    (Windows) Change the MAPI settings in your email application. Acrobat and Reader use the Messaging Application Program Interface (MAPI) to communicate with your email application. Most email applications come with MAPI settings to handle this communication. For more information on configuring your email applications, see the email application’s Help.
    Google Mail doesn't show up in my Internet Properties/Programs/E-mail list, and as far as I can tell, Google Mail doesn't have any MAPI settings to adjust.
    Any tips?
    Thanks.

    In Acrobat XI you can find this setting under Edit > Preferences > Email accounts. You can add your gmail account here. Here is a tutorial on How to use webmail in Acrobat.

  • Acrobat Pro 9 Shared Review

    I'm evaluating a copy of acrobat 9 pro and I am trying to create a shared review on our internal network. I can create the shared review and everything works fine except that the toolbar to publish the comments is not there. The toolbar shows initially after the file is created, but when I get out and go back into it, there is no toolbar. None of the other reviewers on other computers can see the toolbar either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Rob

    Hello Vikas,
    To answer your questions:
    1. Do all reviewers have a local copy of the review file, or is it kept at a shared location and everyone is commenting on it.
    - I have tried it both ways with the same results. Our preference is to keep the PDF in a shared location so that all reviewers can see each others' comments. (Since the problem began, we have lost that capability, and the "semi-workaround" is to email each reviewer the PDF, each reviewer makes comments locally, and emails it back to the writer. This is less than ideal as each review cannot see each other's comments... However, I was able to publish them "on behalf".
    2. Are you only having trouble with publishing new comments or is it that you cannot see earlier added comments also.
    Reviewers are unable to publish their newly-added comments as there is no Publish button/icon. If I have published another's comments on their behalf, they can see them. However, they cannot Reply - as the Reply button is disabled.
    3. Are there some specific files with which you are having trouble or is it a generic problem.
    It happens with all files, so it is generic. Anyone who has Reader 9 has no Publish button when opening a shared review generated from Acrobat 8.
    Thanks for any help you can provide. We are hoping the problem resolves when we upgrade to Acrobat 9 but that alas will not be until sometime in the new year, hopefully.

  • Problems publishing shared review comments in Acrobat 8.0

    I created a shared review in Acrobat 8.0 and posted it to a Sharepoint workspace. A reviewer published comments but I was not able to see them. He double-checked, and he was able to see his comments but I was still unable to see them. He checked again, and was not able to see his comments.
    I can see comments the reviewer published on a different date, but the reviewer is no longer able to see those comments either. Has anyone had a similar experience?

    I'm having a similar problem and didn't see a solution posted.
    I'm using Acrobat 8 Professional to do shared document reviews.  I created a sharepoint shared documents folder which the shared document review process verified and accepted as a destination.
    I used the Review and Comment process to save the pdf document to the folder (enabling those using Reader to review and comment) and send an email inviting specific individuals to review and comment.
    The problem is when they open the document (using the URL in the email) they don't see the "toolbar" that lets them Publish Comments to Server.  They all have Reader 9.
    Until I figure out what the problem is, I'm using a brute force technique to force publishing comments, instructing them to close the browser and then Publish Comments using the dialog box that appears after the browser has closed.
    Any suggestions how to get the toolbar that lets them look for published comments and publish their comments to display ?

  • Acrobat Pro 8 Shared Review not annotatable by Reader 9

    I am using Acrobat Pro 8 to create shared review PDFs.
    Reviewers who have upgraded to Reader 9 are suddenly unable to add comments. The Comment and Markup toolbar is not displayed, and the Comment and Markup option is absent from the Tools menu and the View > Toolbars menu. If we go View > Toolbars > More Tools, then select Comment & Markup Toolbar, we get a message saying that it cannot be enabled.
    We discovered that they could still annotate documents that they had previously opened with Reader 8 before upgrading to Reader 9. Reviewers using Reader 8 have none of these problems with the same document(s).
    Short of my upgrading to Acrobat Pro 9 to create the shared review PDFs, is there a workaround for this?
    Thanks,
    Marta Cepek

  • Shared Review cannot resolve email addresses through Outlook

    I am finding references to the issue I am having that goes back a couple years and seems to be tied to a change to Acrobat between versions 8 & 9, I am flummoxed though that there isn't a solution listed for any of the forum posts I've found.  We are using Acrobat Pro & Standard X.  When I create a shared review via Email or using a SharePoint workspace, I am unable to succesfully add users to the review process.
    A few users always work and most others result in multiple contact selector dialog boxes and a final message:
    "Microsoft Outlook does not recognize "/o=..."
    If this is a known issue how can there not be a work around or fix for this?  It's a great feature, but I can't ask our users to use this shared review process if I also have to tell them to just keep trying to enter the reviewer email - it might work eventually.
    Suggestions?

    Hello Chris,
    Yes,  you are correct the problem is tied to the "<last name>, <first name>" convention that uses the comma.
    The issue arose due to Acrobat allowing commas as separators in the list of addresses in the Shared Review dialog.
    As of Acrobat XI 11.0.9 this issue is fixed. It will be included in all future updates, so version 11.0.9 and higher contain the fix.
    Please see the 11.0.9 release notes regarding 3732843.
    11.0.09 Planned update, Sept 16, 2014 — Acrobat and Adobe Reader Release Notes
    You must create and set a registry key to enable the fix:
    Key location: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\11.0\Sendmail
    Name : bRemoveCommaDelimiter
    Type : DWORD(32-bit)
    Value : 1
    The issue is NOT fixed in Acrobat X.

  • Why does Acrobat tech support seem to know nothing about shared reviews?

    Venting, but also asking honestly why Adobe has to suck so bad in their support of Acrobat....
    I was on the phone with Acrobat tech support today (outsourced team perhaps?) to ask about another issue I'm having with disappearing comments. I can't see the comments, but another reviewer can. I can see on the webDAV server that the comments are there, sitting in the XML file under the reveiwer's name, but when I open the PDF, it won't grab those comments.
    Not one but TWO tech support guys at Adobe seemed bewildered by these XML files that they think I created. I had to explain that I created nothing; that's what Acrobat does when one creates a shared review. It makes an XML file for each reviewer, and sticks it in a shared folder of your choosing, whose URL name is baked into the PDF. I had to walk each of them through the process of creating a shared review, and they both acted as if it was some mysterious weird process that I'm jerryrigging.
    They said it was "unusual" that I am using a webDAV server, but I told them that webDAV is one of the three options provided by Adobe's wizard when setting up a shared review. (The other options are Network Folder and Sharepoint.) I told them it's not unusual at all; in fact, I got all the original setup instructions FROM ADOBE.
    They kept putting me on hold for three to five minutes to apparently try looking stuff up, or maybe just to avoid my growing wrath.
    I had another hunch that the problem might be that my synchronized folder may need to be cleared out (gotten from this thread: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3596773) and asked them if they could tell me where to find the synchronization folder on Mac, as that thread refers to Windows only. He had no idea. I asked him that surely, somewhere at Adobe where he works, somebody knows where that's set up on the Mac.
    He put me on hold for three to five minutes and said he didn't know, but he'll "escalate" this and get back to me in 24 to 48 hours, which is the fastest turnaround time they can muster, apparently.
    The only soultions I ever find to my Acrobat woes are from the beleaguered users themselves. I also suspect that only users (not Adobe's tech support, who don't seem to care about anything) will ever even read this.

    We had the same problem in Germany... Turns out that the Regional and Language settings in the Client OS is causing the problems. If you change the decimal format from a , to a . it will solve the problem.. all comments will be places and vieable by all... pls clear all cache and profile settings first to start with a clean test... i hope this helps your situation..
