FXS Port stucks in Off-Hook state on NM-HDA

Hi,
i have some trouble with an FXS Port on an NM-HDA which stucks in the Off-Hook state, after some time of normal operation. The Voice-Port is in Off-Hook state regardless of if there is an Enddevice attached or not. Even an reload of the router does not help.
The voice port is configured for loop-start. The NM-HDA is housed in an Cisco 3725 running IOS Vers. 12.3(14)T2 with H.323 signalling.
Is there anybody who has seen this before? Could this be caused by an IOS-Bug or is it more likley that the NM-HDA is faulty?
Regards
Robert

Here's the bug ID: CSCse15025
Doubt the NM is faulty - we had the same issue in a 2821 and migrated to 12.4(4)T4 to correct it. No hardware replacement required. All has worked fine since then.

  • WRP400 hangs in off hook state

    Hello,
we have a client which uses WRP400 for T.38 faxing.  It has modem connected to FXS port. Usually every 2weeks WRP400 hangs in 'off hook' state for that FXS port and no reboot helps to fix that. Only after firmware rewrite line hook gets in place. We use 1.00.06 version of firmware. Any thoughts on a problem?

  • 3825 FXO Port remains in off-hook after call

    Hello,
I have a 3825 router with 8 FXO ports running Cisco IOS Software, 3800 Software (C3825-SPSERVICESK9-M), Version 12.4(24)T3, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2). The problem we are facing is that after a call is placed through any of the FXO ports and the call is ended by the user, the port remains in off-hook till a reset of the port is done or someone restarts the router. Only then is the port accessible again.
I am thinking of changing the cards, but i do not want to invest in replacing the cards and then find out that this doesnt solve the problem.
The wierd thing is that this issue started on its own accord not too long ago.
    Comments and suggestions please!
    Regards,
    Femi

    Hello,
I do not want to change the FXO card till I am sure that is the problem and I did state that I always have to reboot the router when the problem starts. Rebooting clears the problem but it is back immediately I attempt a call again and hang up that call.

  • FXS stay in off-hook

    Hi All,
I have an issue for fxs port in voice gateway, the fxs port connceted to the fax machine is in off-hook state. it will change to on hook when i unplug the phone cable.
    IOS Version : C2951-UNIVERSALK9-M version 15.2(4)M5.
    H323 voice gateway.
shut and no shut on voice port, no any changes. please see attached picture.
Can someone please tell whether this is due to any IOS bug?

Now it's status is changed to on-hook, if i enter command " csim start 803" to test, the status will change to off-hook, but when i place a call from jabber to 803, the status is not changed, the status is still on-hook, maybe something is wrong on router?
I captured log on RTMT, please see bellow:

  • Unity connections 9.1 "port stuck with call"

I am seeing this message in the error log: %UC_UCEVNT-3-EvtMiuPortStuckWithCallinfoOnly:   for a number of  ports. . When I look into the log some of these ports have ben up for a month .
the message is cleared by restarting the port,
This stuck port problem has been around for a long time we had it in ver 7.1, is there any way of making a port reset if it has been stuck on a call for say 24 hours?

    Hello chrbradf1,
You can set the amount of time for the watchdog to generate a log when the port would be considered locked, but there is no automatic way of restarting them on the CUC perspective neither on CUCM, there is also no provisioning for Tcl scripting therefore you will have to restart them manually.
Watchdog is under: Cisco Unity Connection Administration> System Settings> Advanced> Telephonny> Port Watchdog Threshold in Minutes.
    Port Watchdog Threshold in Minutes
Enter the time, in minutes, that a port can be off hook before it is considered to be locked. When a port reaches this threshold, Cisco Unity Connection logs an error. To review errors, see the Real-Time Monitoring Tool. We recommend a setting greater than 30 minutes.
    Default setting: 240 minutes.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/connection/8x/gui_reference/guide/8xcucgrg110.html
Also consider that maximum time is 240000 minimum is 0 and value has to be integer.
    Examples:
Value specified (111111111) exceeds the maximum allowable value (24000).
Value specified (0.1111) is not an integer value
Value specified (-1111) is below the minimum allowable value (0).

  • SPA2102 FXS port state monitoring

    Hi all,
Is there any way to get FXS port state for LinkSys SPA2102 VoIP adapter (i.e. is there a phone that connected to it or not) remotely, for example, via SNMP ?
    Thanks.

    Here's the bug ID: CSCse15025
Doubt the NM is faulty - we had the same issue in a 2821 and migrated to 12.4(4)T4 to correct it. No hardware replacement required. All has worked fine since then.

  • GigE port stuck in init state on SSN-16

I have a Cisco MDS 9222i running NX-OS 6.2(3) with a SSN-16 module in slot 2.  One of the GigE ports with an active connection to a FEX remains in the "init" state.  Shutting and no shutting the port doesn't change the state.  When I move the SFP and cable from the problematic port to another port it comes up immediately.  Has anybody heard of this problem?

    Hi,
Are you seeing hellos across the link (debug ip ospf hello)? If so, please check the MTU settings on both interfaces and set the OSPF link type (point-to-point).
If there are no OSPF hellos received you have to ask your provider to troubleshoot the problem with you. In principle it should work.
    Hope this helps!

  • FXS Port Query?

    Hi,
We are running VoIPovFR to a remote location, which has 2 x 4FXS/DID module installed into a C2621XM chassis. We are using IOS c2600-is-mz.122-15.
Out of the 8 ports, two continually go off-hook, FXSLS_WAIT_OFFHOOK before finally going into a FXSLS_PARK state. I have moved the cabling and the error occurs on which ever port the two lines plugs into.
Has anyone ever see this before. To my mind it looks like a cabling issue?
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

Try wiring all FXS ports like this
    FXS PORT 0 RJ11 3-----------------------A ANALOGUE
    FXS PORT 0 RJ11 4-----------------------B PHONE
    FXS PORT 1 RJ11 3-----------------------A ANALOGUE
    FXS PORT 1 RJ11 4-----------------------B PHONE
    FXS PORT 2 RJ11 3-----------------------A ANALOGUE
    FXS PORT 2 RJ11 4-----------------------B PHONE
    FXS PORT 3 RJ11 3-----------------------A ANALOGUE
    FXS PORT 3 RJ11 4-----------------------B PHONE
Ensure that all other wires are left disconnected

  • SPA9000 Configuration Issue with FXS Port(s)

Successfully configured SPA9000 PBX with two VoIP providers setting Voice->Line 1/2 parameters. One phone set is connected to FXS 1 (or FXS 2) port and able to chose the proper VoIP provider when making outbound calls.
Issue is that once outbound call is established, SPA9000 is not responding to additional numbers dialled for called party extension number. Same issue when dialling a number where voice prompt answers the call offering selection of activities to be chosen by dialling specific number. None of the entered selection works as nothing is entered on the dial.

  • Connection PLAR on FXS port 2821

I have an anlog phone that is located by the main gate.  The phone has been extended and terminated into an FXS port on a 2821 router.  I am trying to configure a connect PLAR on he FXS port, so that when the phone goes off-hook it dials an internal VoIP extension.
I am not having any luck.  Any help would be appreciated.  My config is below:

    timing hookflash-in 50 0
    connection plar 220005
    description North gate
    caller-id enable
    dial-peer voice 220005 pots

  • EEM script that generates only 1 email when a fxs port is offhook.

Using the below config I am able to receive a email anytime my voice port is in any other state than ON HOOK. The problem I have is the script runs every 30 seconds and I receive an email every 30 seconds the line is in any other state than "ON-HOOK".
Is there a way to have only one email generated ONLY when the state changes from the previous state?
example : the line is on-hook, changes to off-hook or park or whatever- a email would be generated.  ( only One email). not one every 30 seconds...
The line goes from Off-Hook back to IDLE.  - A email would be generated to advise the line has been restored to a IDLE state.
I know what you're  thinking why? Well I was thinking of using the analog ports as kind of a poor man's slightly intelligent surveillance system. If port 1/0/0 goes off hook or shorted, then this is an alarm condition. A email would be generated. I just don't need a email every 30 seconds.

    end
    Any ideas?

Look at EEM context to save the value of a variable across policy runs.  So you could retrieve the value of the context and compare it to the current value, if they are different then send an email and if they are the same then no action.
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/ios-xml/ios/eem/command/eem-cr-book/eem-cr-a1.html#wp2399063000
The first time your updated policy runs and executes the context retrieve there will not be a value since you have to do a context save first.   To get around this make a second policy that runs at reboot to do a context save of the "on-hook" state.

  • PAP2T - some devices cannot go off-hook to dial

Not sure if this is the right place for Linksys VOIP hardware - though Cisco moved everything onto their site...
I have a PAP2T that seems to have trouble letting some analog devices dial out. Specifically, I tried it with a credit-card machine, and it seemed like the PAP2T would never go off-hook so it could dial. I saw no SIP traffic for any dialing. However, I immediately plugged the same FXS port into a fax machine, and that fax machine was able to dial out fine.

Before you set up port forwarding on your router, change two of the Phone Adapter's settings using its Interactive Voice Response Menu. First, disable its DHCP feature, then assign a static IP address to the Phone Adapter.
