  • SPA2102 FXS port state monitoring

    Hi all,
Is there any way to get FXS port state for LinkSys SPA2102 VoIP adapter (i.e. is there a phone that connected to it or not) remotely, for example, via SNMP ?
    Thanks.

    Here's the bug ID: CSCse15025
Doubt the NM is faulty - we had the same issue in a 2821 and migrated to 12.4(4)T4 to correct it. No hardware replacement required. All has worked fine since then.

  • Valcom 2001A single zone paging system with a Cisco 2821 FXS port

I am new at troubleshooting the Valcom paging system with Cisco 2821 router.  I recently installed a Valcom 2001A that is connecting to FXS port on the Cisco router.  The paging works but the ringing does not stop when the page extension is dialed (you can talk over the ringing).  I was told to use the Valcom 9970 to work with the FXS port on my router.  Will the V9970 worth with the 2001A or in place of it?  Is there anything else I need to know to perfect this install?  Thank you!

Put the command 'forward-digits extra ,,,,01' on the outgoing POTS dial-peer. Each comma is one second of delay.

  • FXS Port stucks in Off-Hook state on NM-HDA

    Hi,
i have some trouble with an FXS Port on an NM-HDA which stucks in the Off-Hook state, after some time of normal operation. The Voice-Port is in Off-Hook state regardless of if there is an Enddevice attached or not. Even an reload of the router does not help.
The voice port is configured for loop-start. The NM-HDA is housed in an Cisco 3725 running IOS Vers. 12.3(14)T2 with H.323 signalling.
Is there anybody who has seen this before? Could this be caused by an IOS-Bug or is it more likley that the NM-HDA is faulty?
    Regards
    Robert

  • Cisco 2432-24FXS Calls won't ring FXS ports when placed in Huntgroup

    Hi,
I am having an issue getting calls to ring through on the FXS ports when using the "trunkgroup" command under the POTS dial-peers. Calls will ring through fine if I use the "port" command under the pots dial-peer. What I am trying to accomplish is getting a single number to hunt through 13 FXS ports in a round-robin fashion. With the below setup I am getting a SIP 404 not found message in the SIP debug info. I am not sure if I am missing something here or what the deal is. If the below information is not enough I would be happy to provide additional info. Any idea's why this configuration doesn't seam to work?

  • Cisco FXS Port - RJ11 to RJ45

    Hi,
I have a VIC3-2FXS/DID in Switerzland and my customer has asked for it to be connected to a fax machine through Strucuted cabling and they would like to know what type of cables they required.
They want RJ11 (FXS Port) to RJ45 (Patch Panel) then RJ45 (Patch Panel) to RJ11(Fax Machine).
Could someone explain the pins out of the cables, as it is going to be two RJ11 to RJ45 cables do they need to rollover?
    Thanks for any help.

All cabling on Cisco voice cards is straight through from the port to the device. RJ11 has 2 pins, for tip and ring.  That's blue and white/blue. RJ45 has 8 pins, but if you want to stick with the 568B wiring standard on the RJ45 jacks, you would use this.
    Blue: RJ11(pin1)----RJ45(pin 4)--------(pin4)RJ45-----(pin 1)RJ11
    White/Blue: RJ11(pin2)----RJ45(pin 5)--------(pin 5)RJ45-----(pin 2)RJ11
If you actually have RJ14 jacks (4 pins), its pins 2 and 3 (the middle pins) which are used.  If it is RJ25, it's still the middle pins, which would be 3 and 4.

  • RADIUS/DECODE: parse unknown cisco vsa "profile-name" - IGNORE

    Dear Team,
I have faced an issue with dot1x mab authorization between cisco switch 3750 and ISE 1.1. I have cisco IP phone connected on port # gig1/0/1 to authenticated through MAB with cisco ISE
    int gig 1/0/1
    switchport mode access
    switchport access vlan 9
    switchport voice vlan 410
    authentication order mab dot1x
    authentication priority dot1x mab
    spanning-tree portfast
    authentication host-mode multi-domain
    authentication port-control auto
    dot1x pae authenticator
    mab
    dot1x timeout tx-period 3
    dot1x max-reauth-req 2
    authentication periodic
    authentication timer reauthenticate server
I can get authentication successfuly but can't download the authorization profile on the gig1/0/1 port since I can see that everything seems fine from the ISE side. the phone is authenticated and authorized fine. so, I debug the dot1x & radius flows from the switch side and get this result.

It is not the ACL it is ignoring, it's the profile-name, which it should, because it has nothing to use that for. However, you should look into VLAN 410, to check and see if you have any config relating to that vlan, the only actual error i see in your logs is the one regarding assigning vlan 410. Could you please post you entire switch config, see we can see what else you might have configured.

  • GWMonitor lists GWIA as state Unknown

We've been having issues with GroupWise ever since we upgraded to Linux. Today's issue is the GWIA web interface. Whenever I try to connect to our gwia web interface directly on port 9850 it redirects me to GWMonitor.
And under GWMon it lists all of the GroupWise components as running normally except the GWIA.
The GWIA state is unknown. I've tried changing the port, restarting groupwise, restarting the server, changing the HTTP username and password in C1,
    Normal 0 d 1 h 6 m crofton MTA 0 d 1 h 10 m 0 0 Linux 8.0.2 (12/11/2010)
    Unknown 0 d 1 h 11 m GWIA.crofton GWIA 0 d 0 h 0 m N/A N/A ?

    Normal 0 d 1 h 6 m webacc.crofton WEBACC 0 d 1 h 10 m N/A N/A Linux 8.0.2 (12/11/2010)
    Name GWIA.crofton
    Type GWIA
    Address SERVER-IP:9850
    Poll Type XML
    State Unknown
It was set to SNMP but I brought down GWMon and then Restarted the GWIA and then brought GWMon back up and it set to XML. But the same error either way.
I also made sure that the port 9850 was not in use by something else while both were down.
    Tyler

Well, when we switched to Linux, our GroupWise issues pretty much went away. Exact opposite of what you site. I guess YMMV.
This would not be on the other side of a Firewall by chance? Check that. You should also be able to telnet to the port if it is running and you have connectivity.

Since there has been no response to your post, it appears to be either too complex or too rare an issue for other forum members to assist you. If you don't get a suitable response to your post, you may wish to review our resources at the online Technical Assistance Center (http://www.cisco.com/tac) or speak with a TAC engineer. • FXS Ports & Pickup Groups

Is there a way to make an analog phone connected to an FXS port a part of a call pickup group that contains both analog phones & IP phones? I setup a lab and used MGCP to add the gateway and I was able to add the DN associated with the FXS port to a call pickup group. However, I am unable to figure out how to answer the call from the analog phone when another IP phone in the call pickup group is ringing.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi
You are going down the right track with this.
    http://forum.cisco.com/eforum/servlet/NetProf?page=netprof&forum=Unified%20Communications%20and%20Video&topic=IP%20Telephony&CommCmd=MB%3Fcmd%3Dpass_through%26location%3Doutline%40%5E1%40%40.1dde5372/0#selected_message
See this other post I made (for a different purpose, but the principal is the same - it just opens up features available to IP phones for FXS ports by registering them using SCCP).

  • MGCP FXS ports requires a license in CUCM9

    Hello!
I am connecting Some analoge phones to VG350 FXS ports which is  configured as a MGCP Gateway in CUCM. I beleive MGCP did not requires any license for it. Can some confirm this ? is there any Cisco doc on it ?
    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi Sambit,
Technically u are correct but legally I think u would be requiring license.
even the ordering guide says Analog devices are supported with Essential USer license  and must be purchased through UCL.

  • FXS Port Query?

    Hi,
We are running VoIPovFR to a remote location, which has 2 x 4FXS/DID module installed into a C2621XM chassis. We are using IOS c2600-is-mz.122-15.
Out of the 8 ports, two continually go off-hook, FXSLS_WAIT_OFFHOOK before finally going into a FXSLS_PARK state. I have moved the cabling and the error occurs on which ever port the two lines plugs into.
Has anyone ever see this before. To my mind it looks like a cabling issue?
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

Try wiring all FXS ports like this
    FXS PORT 0 RJ11 3-----------------------A ANALOGUE
    FXS PORT 0 RJ11 4-----------------------B PHONE
    FXS PORT 1 RJ11 3-----------------------A ANALOGUE
    FXS PORT 1 RJ11 4-----------------------B PHONE
    FXS PORT 2 RJ11 3-----------------------A ANALOGUE
    FXS PORT 2 RJ11 4-----------------------B PHONE
    FXS PORT 3 RJ11 3-----------------------A ANALOGUE
    FXS PORT 3 RJ11 4-----------------------B PHONE

  • EFTPOS No Response X0 Using FXS Port

    Hi All,
Trying to get an EFTPOS machine working connected into an FXS Port using SCCP/STCAPP Protocol for call control.
The port is registered in CUCM, I can connect an analogue phone to the port and successfully call the Bank's 1800 Number etc, I can make other external calls no problem.
When I try the EFTPOS Machine, the call setup runs through normally and I see the call is then in a connected state. Approx about 10 or seconds later the call is cleared by the local device with an 0x8090 code Normal Clearing. The call is then disconnected and released as per any other call.
The EFTPOS Machine prints a error for "Declined No Response X0"
I have attached the following debugs.
    debug isdn q931
    debug voip vtsp all
    debug vop ccapi inout
    debug voip rtp session named-event
    Calling Number is 0245604627
    Called Number is 1800509183
General environment setup is as follows.
EFTPOS connect to FXS Port -> Registered to CUCM (9.1.2) -> SIP Trunk -> IOS 15.x -> ISDN Pri.
    Any feedback i smuch appreciated.
    Ben

Not so sure if the service code being utilize by the FXS is the same as what is mentioned in VSA.Then again, the manual says "dial the corresponding * code on the client station" and if you look at an SPA9xx phone, it has the following codes defined for call park and call unpark code.
    *38
    *39

  • 2960x - stack cables connected while switches power on. SFP ports - status unknown

Connected 2960x uplink using SFP ports both stacks and all 4 ports worked good.
Remote tech connected last stack cable between first and last switch, in 2 different 2960x stacks of switches, while switches were  powered on. A longer stack cable was needed.  3 of 4 SFP ports did stopped communicating.
One stack SFP stayed up in switch 2, not master.  Completed reload - other SPF connected in switch 4/0/52
Second stack no connection on either SFP, remote tech power cycled switches.
After power cycle one SFP worked  in Master 1/0/52, other switches SFP ports show "unknown" when inserting SFP.
Configured port 48 on stack with issue and connected second uplink just fine.
Has anyone experienced this with the SFP's?

    From Cisco.
Developers have recommended to upgrade the IOS version of switches with a Hardware Board revision Number below 0x10 to the release 15.0(2.0).EX5ES. this is the one attached to this email and should be applied to switch 1 and 2.
For switches with a Hardware Board revision Number above 0x10 to the release 152-2.4.E1ES, which I will send you right away. This should be done on switch 3 and 4.
Now, If you  load the engineering special, you will  need to do a full power-cycle (physically unplug the power and plug it back in for every single switch). A simple ‘reload’ will not resolve this.
The same must be done on Switch-0. For this stack you will only need to load the image attached to this email since all the Hardware Board revision Numbers are lower than 0x10.
    done.
