Generate Inspection lot operation when needed

Hi
We are using inspection lots to record supplier results for certain raw materials.
We now need to include our own test results to these inspection lots.
To accomplish this we’re thinking of using the same inspection plan with a 2nd operation.
This will enable us to generate one inspection lot per GR while recording two types of results (i.e. Op1 = Supplier, Op2 = Own).
The inspection lot will always have results from Supplier, but we might only internally test every 10th delivery (GR).
Is it possible to generate the 2nd operation (i.e. Own results) when needed?
Or any other elegant approach/process?
Thanks

Hi Werner
Not is possible add more results in a inspection lot when you made the usage decision.
For this case, you can use the inspection class 89 (Other Inspection) for manually generation inspection lot when you need to register your own results.
For this inspection class 89 you need an inspection plan with another usage (Usage 3). In this inspection plan you can to use your own test.
Regards.
Henry.

  • How to use SAP XI to get Inspection Lot IDOC when Insp. lot is created

I want to create a 3rd party .NET app that gets an Inspection Lot IDOC when an inspection lot is created, gather the inspection results, then push the results back to SAP in an IDOC. How do I use SAP XI to do that? I developed an HTTP listener .NET app and configured a sender communications channel for the SAP System and a receiver connunications channel for the HTTP adapter in the XI integration scenario, but how do I configure the XI integration scenario to send my app an IDOC when an inspection lot is created, and what IDOCs do I use?
    Thanks,

    Hi Ed
    I think you can use
    IDOC TYPES : QALITY01, QALITY02
    in XI you can create
IDOC to HTTP as a scenario
IDOC need to be triggered from SAP system and you can import the IDOC metadata into XI from SAP
Check this thread it will help

  • Material Return/Scrap Material from production generate inspection lot

    Hi experts,
I would like to confirg the following:
When material return or scrapped material return from production(mvnt type 262), system is required to generate inspection lot.
How can I config this scenario?
    Thanks!
    Regards,
    Daniel

The inspection lot origin '05' is assigned to movement type '262'.
(You can check this in update control at transaction OMJJ.)
So you have to activate the inspection type '05' or new one.
But you should be 'careful' because an inspection lot will be create even if other movement like '501'.

  • Goods Receipt generates inspection lot using inspection type 08

    Hi,
I have two plants A and B. I have set up my materials with an 08 inspection type plant B. Material transfers from plant A and B generate an inspection lot using inspection type 08 and inspection lot origin 08. This works perfectly.
However if I use a stock transfer between two storage locations within 1 plant, using stock transfer order, inspection lot is generated using inspection type 08 when GR is performed.
Is there a link between 08 inspection type and 101 movement
    Regards

Yes ,101 & 08 are associated with each other for stock transfer order that is only when receipt indicator is "X" and mvt indicator is prchase order.
If you do not want this to haapen then
copy mvt type 101 as Z01 & for this mvt type deactivate QM in
    QCC3->inspection lot creation->Inspect for goods mvt->Deactivate Quality Inspection for a Movement Type>Z01-->deactivate
Use this mvt type when you are tranferring material from storage location to storage Location.
This will not create any inspection lot.

  • Inspection Lot creation when COGI in REM

When there any errors (COGI) during GR-REM (MFBF), it is observed that system is not creating the inspection lot. can anyone help me explaning this behaviour
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Raghava

    Hello Raghava,
In the material master for the inspection type if in the Control insLot  the setting maintained is an inspection lot for each material document item  or an inspection lot for each material document and material or an inspection lot for each material and batch then the lot will be created with the material document .
in other words creation of the material document will be the triggering point for lot creating for this setting .  As during the goods movement error the material document is not created hence the lot is not created .
I hope the information helps.  Let us know if you need any further info .

  • Inspection lot summary when GR post to same material and batch

    Dear Experts,
The business flow is, when material with same batch number come to plant, this batch may split and post to different storage location.
we have tried setting control inslot parameter to "2 For each material batch and storage location" but it only work within one storage location.
can any expert suggest idea about this thing, thanks a lot.

You'll only be able to stop the second lot from being created.  You won't be able to update an open, existing inspection lot because of the different storage location.  SAP can't have two segments of inventory linked to the same insp. Lot.
Are you using batch status at your plant? As an alternative, you could create the batches with a restricted batch status.  Then the whole batch, regardless of storage location shows as restricted stock.  Use the user exit to prevent creation of additional insp lots.  When the first insp lot is completed, the batch status can be changed via the UD stock posting to unrestricted stock.  When this happens, all stock of the batch in all other storage locations will change to unrestricted stock.

  • QM Operation number for inspection lot

    Hi All,
I have a requirement wherein i need to get the opertaion numbers corresponding to inspection lot number. I am acheiving this using the BAPI 'BAPI_INSPOPER_GETLIST'. This bapi accepts inspection lot as input and returns the operation number details(including the operation short text). Now am facing a performance issue when i am executing this bapi for more number of records in my report(1000+). So am searching for an alternate solution. Can anyone provide me a standard table which has inspection lot, operation number and operation short text maintained in it.
    Looking forward to your reply.
    Regards
    Ramanan

V_QAPO u2013 gives the relation of Inspection Lot, Inspection Plan and Operation. or there is another term called vorgflnr which is related to the operation.
most of the tables like qase qasr and qamr  contain vorgflnr and inspection lot(prueflos).
    Hope this answers your question.

  • SAP QM-EWM - Inspection Lot not generated in ECC

    Hi Gurus,
Need your advice with QM-EWM integration.
We are trying to generate an Inspection lot "01" in ECC while using EWM as our Warehouse.
Material is not HU managed so the trigger of IL should be via Good Receipt. If material is HU managed the inspection lot trigger is via Inbound delivery HU assignment.
    The following has been done:
Material is QM active "01" not HU set up in ECC
Material is assigned to an Inspection Plan in ECC
We do not have QIE in place
SLOC used does not require HU
    Below is the process.
Purchase Order is created in ECC
Inbound delivery is created in ECC and distributed in EWM
GR happens in EWM and reflects in ECC
The question now is it possible to generate an Inspection lot in ECC even if GR happens in EWM? w/o EWM the scenario is generating Inspection lots.

    Hi,
"The question now is it possible to generate an Inspection lot in ECC even if GR happens in EWM? w/o EWM the scenario is generating Inspection lots."
No. You need to have the QIE to trigger the inspection lot creation in ECC.
"We do not have QIE in place"
This is the first thing you need.
Somewhere here in this space I thought is also a document describing how to set it up - but could not find it right now.

  • Need Inspection lot creation at only one storage location level - QA07

    Hi,
I have shelf life expired material at different storage location. When ever i run QA07.System generates inspection lot for all storage location. But I want to process the inspection lot for only one storage location. Please guide me how can we map this reqmnt.
Thanks in advance for your relevent response.
    Thanks & Regards
    Kundan Kumar

    Hi,
Next inspection date is maintained at the batch level, not at the storage location level.
You can suggest the following solutions if it is feasible in your business scenario.
Scenario 1: Batch is inwarded in one storage location"A" & stored for some time, then it is transfered to other storage loactions B & C (like production storage locations).
In this case suggest to transfer the batch to storage loactions B & C just one or two days before the actual consumption of the batch & also keep the opening period  in QA07 sufficient days (between 10-15 days), so that the sytem will create the inspection lot in one storage location "A" . Since the batch is still not transfered to B & C, the system will not create inspection lots in B&C.
Scenario 2: Batch is inwarded in all the storage locations with the same batch number.
In this case suggest to inward the same bacth with different batch numbers, keeping the all other characteristic values same
    With Best Regards

  • Inspection lot not generated via CO07

    Hi QM Gurus,
Does anyone know how we can generate inspection lot via CO07 (production order without material number)?
I have done the steps below:
Customized inspection type 03 in order type PP03 (OPL8).
    Created Reference Operation Sets 50000008.
Created Inspection plan for ROS 50000008 and assign IMC in the operation.
    OSS note 675643
    Anything I missed?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Sun

    Hi,
I think the problem is no material will be maintained. The background is user reference operation set & CO07 to create production order without material. Generally, oritinal insp. type should be maintaind in MM02 QM Tab, then 03 insp. lot can be created while Pro Order released. But now, as no material master is maintained, so we can not trigger 03 in QM TAB, and no insp. lot will be generated.
I made the moderation like Sun listed, but no insp. lot can be generated. What the note says,it will take the material number from the superior order, conflicts with our purpose (without material).
           So my question is:
          1) whether SAP can generate insp. lot from Pro. order without material
          2) What's the superior order mean?
          Thanks

  • How can I generate automatic inspection lots every 15th day

    Hello,
My client receives chemicals (Raw Mat) every day. Incoming inspn is done only for physical spec and Usage deciison is taken on same day itself.
As he is getting raw mat from good vendors, he usally do chemical analysis every 15th day.
Whats the best way for me to map this process of generating inspection lot on every 15 day. initial incoming lot we cant use as he already taken UD on that.
15 day chemical analysis dont have any impact on qty posting as Raw mat usally will be consumed.
Is there anything other than manual lot. I welcome all ideas.

In this case your looking at a pooled sample of the approx. 15 batches of material that were received in.  Correct?
If you are batch managed, then no.  Since the sample is a composite sample, you can't link it to anything else really and you don't have a batch number to enter into the inspection lot upon creation.  First, you'd have to create a dummy batch to hold the results.  Which you could do maybe by date if your system allows external batch numbering.
Then you could at least manually create the inspection lot.
The is no true "event" to trigger the creation of the inspection lot as there is when you do a GR.  The only why you could trick the system would be if your were willing to maintain a separate storage location, and do a stock posting to it of the sample quantity each day.  Then you could have an inspection plan that would create a skip lot each day.  On the 15th day it would become required.  You would probably utilize a copy of movement type 411 for this and use that custom one to make the moves.
The problem with this is then you'll have to write off that little bit of material at some point for accounting purposes.
Another option.. you could create dummy batch and set a 15 day inspection interval on it.  Use deadline mointoring to create the lot one day in advance of expiration.
One more option:  Use standard calibration inspection to set up a calibration program.. I.e. recalibate every 15 days.

  • No inspection lot

    Hi,
    I am PP consultant.
I have created production order & realese it. But inspection lot did not created. I have maintain inspection inspection type in QM view. How to solve problem.

    Dear,
    03 : In-process insp. for production order:
This inspection type is used to check Inspection characteristics during the process of operation.
Inspection lot origin is 03. Task list type is  N. i.e. you need to assign inspection characteristics at operation level with Control key PI02 / PP04 (Indicator Insp. char. required must be selected) in the routing / recipe. When you release the order, system generates inspection lot. You can do RR with operation yield and UD without stock posting.
04 : Goods receipt inspection from production:
This inspection type is used to check some Inspection characteristics after production and GR of the Material. Inspection lot origin is 04.  When you do the GR for material with respect to Production order, system generates inspection lot. You can do RR with and UD with stock posting.
So please check the materail master setting for stock posting and insp type active and also check the routing setting.
