Getting No rights error in Crystal Reports connection with SAP ECC 6

I am ABAP/BI developer and would like to work in Crystal Reports 2011. Currently, We have SAP ECC 6 and BI 7 set up. I have installed trial version of Crystal Reports 2011.
I am getting error while trying to create blank report in Crystal Reports:
Create New Connection -> SAP Tables.. -> entered SAP Development server user id and password -> following error message :
LOGON failed
Details : You do not have necessary rights to design reports against the SAP system. Please check with your system administrator.
My user id has all rights in development server.  So, is any special rights require? OR do we have to install any patch for Crystal Reports at SAP level?
Please guide me.

Hi,
To be able to report off an SAP data source in Crystal Reports, request the SAP Administrator to set the appropriate authorizations for the user.
For a list of authorizations that are necessary for each type of SAP connection, consult the document:
BusinessObjects XI Integration for SAP Installation Guide
In the "Authorizations" chapter, there is a description of each authorizations needed for each type of connection and actions.
( The document is attached to this SAP Knowledge Base Article in the attachment section )
In addition to the authorizations specified in the SAP Integration Kit Installation Guide, the following authorizations are required:
For Authorization object: S_RFC with Field name: RFC_Name. According to the installation guide the values should be: SYST, /CRYSTAL/OPENSQL
Additionally you will need the value: SUSR as well.
For Authorization object: ZSEGREPORT with field name: ACTVT. According to the installation guide the value is: 02 (Change)
Additionally you will need the value: 01 (Create or generate) as well.
Thank you.

    With Regards,

    Hi,
The error messages occur because there are multiple network cards or name resolution issues on the server.
To resolve the error, specify an available port for an IP address
    1. Open the Crystal Configuration Manager (CCM).
    2. Stop the CMS.
    3. Define an available port number on the command line of the CMS for the IP address (for example, - Port <IP Address>:<port number>). Verify that the port number is not in use.
    4. Start the CMS.
Now Logging on to the CMS from the applications will now occur successfully.

There is a specific set of authorizations that you need to provide to your SAP user to be able to create CR reports against SAP data source. Check in the "SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Integration for SAP Solutions Installation and Administration Guide" chapter 13 called "Authorization".
You can download this guide in the following URL: ht[http://service.sap.com/sapidb/011000358700000559912010E/xi31_sp3_bip_sap_inst_en.pdf|http://service.sap.com/sapidb/011000358700000559912010E/xi31_sp3_bip_sap_inst_en.pdf]

  • Unknown Database Connector Error using Crystal Report XI with Windows 7

    My current configuration is:
    Windows XP Professional
    Crystal Reports XI Professional
    Oracle Client 10g
This is working great, however we are switching to Windows 7 Professional and I need to get this same configuration working on the new machines.
I have loaded Windows 7 Professional and Oracle Client 10g.  Oracle makes the data connection without any problems.  I loaded Crystal Reports XI Professional, but it will not connect to the Oracle database.  It keeps giving me the Unknown Database Connector error.  Can anyone assist me with this problem?  This is the final software package that is holding up the project.

Today I have upgraded my PL version ( PL 05 to PL40). After wards i am unable to connect to SAP.

    Waiting for a quick response.....
I am really stuck ... can't go ahed without this.....

    Hi
-222 -> usually this is a period problem.
you have to create a new period, and set it as default.
(General Settings form -> don't forget to set it as the current one)
after this it should work. had a similar problem yesterday.

  • Jndi error in crystal report connecting to jsp

    hi
getting error while connecting my report to jsp
Error is JNDI error means i m unable to connect to oracle server using my jsp
if any one have answer than provide me
    thanks& regards
    ramesh

Rethink your design. Unless this is a trivial application, a JSP should not be initiating database connections (or really performing any JNDI lookups at all). JSP's are part of the view. In model-view-controller architectures, which normal web applications attempt to implement, it is the model's responsibility to connect to a database to fetch relevant data. In its simplest form, this means you at least write a helper class to perform the JNDI DataSource lookup and return the data via a public method. Ideally, you have enough of these classes that they are not simply helper classes, but rather a full-fledged model tier. See tutorials here and on the net about MVC architecture.
As to your specific issue, it could be any number of issues. Are your deployment descriptors (web.xml, serverl.xml, weblogic.xml, etc.) set-up correctly? Is there a typo between the names declared? What does your JNDI lookup URI contain? Is there an error there? What is the code you are using to perform the lookup? What does the actual exception stack trace contain? We will need some or all of the above information to actually diagnose the source of the error.
However, first, redesign your JSP. :^)

  • Errors when trying to connect with SAP Netweaver BW Connection

    Hi,
I'm trying to pull in data from a Bex query using the BW Connection.
    I'm on SP4.
When I add the connection from Data Manager, I can logon to BW, however when I browse for queries I get .COM exceptions and Class not Registered errors.
Any ideas what could be causing this?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
To design dashboards using BICS connection these are the prerequisits :
on the client side : Xcelsius Enterprise Designer 2008 SP2 or above (trial or engage versions do not offer this connectivity),
SAP GUI patch 901 or above
on the server side : NW 7.0 EhP1 SP5 with ABAP and Java stacks.
To view dashboard (run time) :
on the client side : a web browser, Adobe Flash Player
on the server side : NW 7.0 EhP1 SP5 with ABAP and Java stacks
Important Note: The BI Java stack and Single Sign On between ABAP and Java are a must have to get this connection working.

    Hi Pawan,
Search for the error and you should see many threads for this issue.
Anyway, this is what I found:

  • Crystal Reports 2008 with BO Enterprise XI 3.1

    Hi All,
We are in the process of implementing CR2008 with BO Enterprise XI 3.1.
We have completed the installation successfully. We can connect from CR2008 client desktop directly to BI-7 using the BO SAP Connector. But We have the following issues,
    1) On CMC (OB Ent Server) we don't see any business object related roles in the list of values under the authorization. We see 3 J2EE related roles only.  We did everything according to the documentation. Changed JCO (sapjco.jar) along with the DLLs to various versions and even changed the 64bit to 32bit but no luck. Classpath is also set in Tomcat but still we don't see any of the BO related roles.
    2) We have created a connection to universe using Designer (BO Ent). But when we try to connect from CR2008 to universe though the Business Object Enterprise Server using the client desktops, we can only select the fields for the query. But when we try to confirm the query we get a message saying NOT LOGGED ON.
Are we doing the right thing ? We have BI-7 installed on Windows 2003 (64 Bit Server) and BO Enterprise Server XI 3.1 and SAP Connector XI 3.1 Server was also installed on the same server. We have client desktops with Crystal Report 2008 with SAP Connector Client installed.
    What are we missing ?
Appreciate if you could kindly help us to get this problem solved as this is dragging for a while now.
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    Thanks and Regards

  • Failed to retrieve data from the database crystal reports 2008 in SAP  B1

    Hello friends,
I am using Crystal report 2008 with SAP B1 PL 8.8. When I run any report,  it runs correctly from Crystal Report. But whenever I try to open the same report through SAP ( Tools -> Preview External Crystal Report ), it prompts the parameters for that report and then open up the crystal report window and throws an Error message ("failed to retrieve data from the database. Details [Database Vendor Code: 156]").
Please any one suggest me the corrective solution.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Keyur Raval.

I had the same problem in SAP B1 2007. Report worked fine except when it was open from B1. Generally there may be different problems. In my case the same problem was caused by using some procedure which was in a specific schema. Changing the schema into "dbo" solved the problem.
