Hi,
It seems the “avgwfpx.sys” file is related to AVG. Please try removing AVG and see if it works.
Thanks.

My HP, purchased in June 2012, died on Saturday.  I was working in recently installed Photoshop, walked away from my computer to answer the phone and when I came back the screen was blank.  When I turned it on, I got a Windows Error Recovery message.  The computer was locked and wouldn't let me move the arrow keys up or down and hitting f8 didn't do anything.
I'm not happy with HP.  Any suggestions?

  • HP Printing Engineers Mobilize: Expert Day War Room

During November and December of 2009, HP has mobilized a specialized group of engineers to provide answers and responses to customer questions during our Expert Day events.  In both San Diego CA and Boise ID, there are conference rooms that transform into test centers with multiple PC's, Notebook PC's, and Printers/All-in-Ones.
At any point of time, there are at least six dedicated engineers watching the forums, testing solutions, and answering threads.  While everyone is logged into the forums, one PC is dedicated to project the forum on a large screen. There is also a PC dedicated to maintaining a virtual connection between the locations. Information sharing goes on via speaker-phone and use of virtual room technology.
Here is how one of our engineers describes it:
As customers enter new messages during Expert Days, the team reacts by doing a quick review of the entry.  An individual is assigned to respond by answering the question, or asking for more information.  If we need to work on a problem, it is best to personally experience it.  We use one of the test machines and get to work.  If customers notice that it is taking some time to get an answer, we'd like them to know that these engineers are working to duplicate the problem that the customers have described.
When a response is ready, the engineer proposes the response for confirmation with everyone else in the room, and also in our "virtual room" so as to get any feedback from others.  If everyone agrees, the answer is posted.
While responding to customer posts, we are also creating a running list of action items. We will often create or revise documentation, develop a new patch, or generate requirements for our next generation of products.  In other words, while we are doing our best to answer questions and provide our customers with a fix, we are also working hard to use the input for improving future products.
We are all part of the community.
From the engineers and management teams within the printer organizations, we welcome you to Expert Days and hope we can help.

Having the same problem !  Should I take it back before my time to return it expires?  I like the printer, but I have no intention of missing faxes during the day because the silly thing is locked up.  Please advise me how you have handled it.  Has there been a fix?  The only advice I have found so far is to turn off the Bluetooth radio when not in use.  Anyone tried it?  I will let you know if it works for me.  My experience with Bluetooth leads me to think this could certainly be the problem because of the connection issues I experience with my phone and hands-free devices.  We'll see...

    Hi,
I noticed that the driver for network adapter was released  3/28/2013 before the released time of Windows 8.1, so It mostly likes driver compatibility issue. Have you manually checked the network adapter driver from its manufacture website and
find the latest driver for Windows 8.1 system, or manually download driver for Windows 7\8, install it in your Windows 8.1 system as a test. It's recommended to contact the vernder to confirm the driver issue.

I had this exact same issue on a Spectre XT Pro Ultrabook.
The original SSD failed and I was sent a replacement, was fortunate enough to be able to create a Recovery USB stick using the wizard in Windows. When booting from USB I received the message "You are not able to restore this system with the media".
SOLUTION: You must NOT use the Recovery USB stick in any USB3.0 port (labelled SS). Using another USB port prevented this exact error message from appearing and I was able to complete the system restore process.
I hope this helps someone, I signed up and posted here especially for this reason!

Dear Mr. Matthews:   The time frame was noon on the 11th to noon on the 12th.  Yes, that's 24 hours, all right.  But wouldn't a lot of people have thought it would encompass workdays on the 11th and 12th?  (8  - 5,  etc)
Had I known the clock started ticking at 1200  hours on the 11th and stopped at 1200 hours the 12th, I might have received some assistance.
The "Expert Days" event are held a few times a year and bring in an extra hundred or more experts from HP and other areas.  While there are more experts on hand on these days (and more people here posting questions) the forums are open 24/7/365.  There are experts here every day answering questions.  But if you do not post a question you will not get a reply....
Find an appropriate sub forum for your topic and look near the top of the page for suggestions on how to ask good questions.  Provide plenty of details of the issue including your computer or printer model, what operating system and what exactly the issue you have, including any error messages.
