GRPO Document Opening in Update Mode

Hi All
When i saved the GRPO Document and again i try to navigate to the saved document it is opening in update mode and if i update then it become 'ok' mode and again if i try to navigate the posted document it is opening in update mode again
how can i overcome this issue
iam using PL10 and iam also using User Defined fields in the Title Level Document

Hi Madhu......
I think you have applied FMS on any one of the field and kept it refresh regularly on some other field. So either you should remove the FMS or you should keep it on display saved values. This will fix your problem.....

SharePoint document open in edit mode

I am successfully able to click on file://urltosharepointdocument.docx on my outlook email and the SharePoint document opens in edit mode and i can edit and saves it perfect. But when I use the following in html page i.e.
<a href="file://urltosharepointdocument.docx">Test</a> it prompts for Open and when i click on it and edit the stuff it saves it fine, but I don't see the edit data, it shows the correct modified date but without edits.
Can anyone please guide me how to achieve the above or how to use file://urltosharepointdocument.docxx as link in a html page

To Activate the Approval Process when document is in update mode

Dear Expert,
I have applied the Approval Process for UDF using the query "Select Distinct 'True' From ORDR T0
Where IsNull($[ORDR.U_Rebate.number],0)>0 and $[ORDR.DocType]='I' ".
Now as the field is UDF user is able to modify even after approval procedure.
Please help me to apply the above query for the Approval process even when the document is in update mode.

Dear Pankaj,
Current B1 design only support approval for adding document. Update will not trigger approval.
You may use SP_TN instead to block user updating it. If you are not familiar with the SP, search the forum first.

Numbers for iOS - Documents frozen in update mode

After restoring the contents of my iPad2 to my new iPad (4th Gen) two of the documents in Numbers are "frozen" in update mode. The same two documents are being updated according to the pad, but nothing happens. I have restarted the iPad several times which did not help. I can neither open nor delete the two documents in question. Can anyone help med by suggesting a possible fix?

are all your documents saved on your desktop already, or icloud? If so you could delete the apps and reinstall. then download from icloud/desktop again.

DMS: Documents opened in edit mode(CV02N) are not deleted from Temp Folder

Hi All,
My query is whenever i edit documents like word,pdf or autocad files in cv02n, it make a copy in my c/windows/temp folder but doesnot delete them when it close the transaction. i have given PC data carrier with path as %Temp% & in profiles i have defined the path as c/windows/temp/
So is there any solution by which the files opened in the edit mode will be deleted when i close the transaction or else after some specified time it should get deleted from the temp folder. Is there any standard configration for it.
Note: I have tried the 741388 note but it is only for display mode documents.

Hi Nishant,
unfortunately this is the standard behavior as for editing the application need a
temporary file and this file is still stored after closing the application to enable a re-checkin in the future too.
So the only possibility is to delete the temporary files from C:\Windows\Temp after some time manually. There is no functionality in the system standard as the SAP system has no control on the windows folders.
To achieve a very similar behavior you can set the "Delete after checkin" flag in transaction DC30 for this applications and see if this will meet your requirements.
This flag means that the original file gets deleted after you check them into a storage category. Maybe this could be usefull.

Document opens in print mode

I have downloaded a few pdfs from a site I pay to access. I can't attach an example here. We are allowed to post them for our staff to read, but the only way I can download is to print them to a pdf.
When I save the file and try to open it, it automatically opens the print dialog box.
The document is not protected and I can change the properties on it.
How can I have this open as a plain old pdf and not with the print dialog box open?

Hmm, I'm using Acrobat 9 and I don't see that setting.
I did find Advanced > PDF Optimizer > Discard Objects and selected both Discard all JavaScript actions and Discard embedded print settings.
When I click OK I get Conversion Warnings > An error was encountered while processing images.
If I go to File Properties the Security Method says No Security and everything is set to Allowed.
You've been very helpful, any other suggestions?

Lock records when in Update Mode / problem with 2 users on 1 document

Hi,
when user A updates e.g. a purchase order and user B goes into this purchase order and updates e.g. the remark before user A, then user A cannot save his changes. Imagine user A has put in several new lines and has made several price adjustments, his work will be gone.
In most cases this should not happen very often, but it could. Since B1 recognizes when another user has updated the document before, it should be possible to solve this situation more convenient (either by lock, saving to a new document, comparing to the old version, etc).

Your request is understandable. It may not have big problem to change current process by coding. However to lock records whenever in update mode, that could create too many locks. It is basically not good for performance. The trade off may be allowing save as function. However, this may not be a desirable solution for most end users.

Error while opening GRPO document

Dear Experts,
I am using SAP B1 8.8 and SQL Server 2008 in Server and SAP B1 and SQL Server 2005 in Test System.
I have tested one scenario, In GRPO Document, Total amount should be calculated based on Unit price * 0.2812 * Net weight. In Test system it worked fine. But when i applied the same in Server, when i open the GRPO document i got an error message as " 1) [Microsoft] [SQL Server Na tive Client 10.0] Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'FOR'. 2) [Microsoft] [SQL Server Native Client 10.0] statement ' ' (NFN1) (s) Could not be prepared."
When i add the GRPO document, i get following error " 1) [Microsoft] [SQL Server Na tive Client 10.0] Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'FOR'. 2) [Microsoft] [SQL Server Native Client 10.0] statement 'Withholding Tax ' (OWHT) (s) Could not be prepared."
Please guide me solve this issue. I could not prepare or add GRPO document because of these errors.

Document always opens in Preview mode, prefer Normal mode

Documents always open in Preview mode, while I'd prefer the Normal mode. I tried setting the mode to Normal and saving the document, but next time I open it it again opens up in Preview mode. Can I change this somewhere so it defaults to Normal mode?

The preview that was used when the file was saved is saved with the
file. If you save it in preview mode, it will open that way.
If that's not the case, you may have a slight corruption in your
preferences. Try trashing them if this bothers you.

Need Javascript to force reading mode on document open...

Need Javascript to force reading mode on document open... Does anyone know how to do this? Acrobat 8 does not come with a custom action for opening a page in reading mode...
Would also like the remove the page scroll bar from the document window. Can this also be applied using Javascript?

This code will embed a script that will open the doc in Reading Mode:

You can't remove the toolbar from the document window, only in full screen mode it's invisible.

Open a document in read only mode

HI All,
I created a panel in which we have
edit box which shows the document path
Browse button to allow a user to select an indesign document
"Open read only" button.
My requirement is that after selecting an Indesign document if user click to "OPen read only" button then it will opened selected document in read only mode.
I will be highly thankfull to all community memeber if anyone can give me some hint to achieve this.

If you change the attributes of the file before opening it to read only the file will be opened as read only by Indesign. And then you could place a responder that could clear this read only flag when the file is being closed so that the permissions are restored to the original state.

Reconciling open GRPO documents with GL

Has anyone reports or methods to reconcile the value of open GRPO documents with the value in the general ledger GRNI account?
I've always found the lack of a report a big limitation. The obvious problem is that the open GRPO documents might be Service or have non-stock Items, neither of which affect the GL.
I've asked similar questions before but not really got anywhere. I'm hoping that someone's got something new.

I am trying to tell users how they can reconcile open GRPOs with the GL balance for GRNI. This would be something that they would do routinely, say every month, so it's not just a one-time exercise. (I am using the word reconcile in this sense to mean compare to or check against. I don't mean Business One's Internal Reconciliation function.)
This is very similar to what an accountant would do to reconcile (compare) the Debtors (Sales) to the GL. The accountant would run an Aged Debtors report to see the open balance on the debtors (customer) documents then compare that to the balance on the Debtors Control Account in the general ledger. For Debtors, you would expect that they would be exactly the same.
The problem with GRPOs, as you know, is that not all the values on the GRPOs go onto the GL. So the question is, how can you reconcile the two, i.e check one against the other?
For me, this is a big omission in the way that Business One works, and I keep hoping that someone has come up with a technique. We keep getting asked this question by users.

Now it opens in the screen mode the InDesign page is in when checked in. We don't want that.

No, there's no way to get rid of it in InCopy. InCopy opens layouts in the mode the InDesign user saved them, including Normal vs. Preview, Frame edges showing or not, Hidden characters showing or not, and so on.
You could try asking the designers to switch to Normal view before saving the INDD file. Or you could assign a keyboard shortcut to the Normal view in InCopy and tell everyone to use that. We're on Macs so we use Control-N for Normal and Control-Shift-N for Preview.
