GW2012 SP3 ETA to solve Outlook 2013 Problems

Hi there,
I read about sp3-ftf before.
Somebody know when it will be available?
We have the problems with Office 2013 that deactivate Groupwise - not working anymore until deinstallation of outlook2013,
and the multi user calender issues.
Any help ?
regards
Uwe

You are talking about a different issue than what this tread was about,
which is how the install of OutLook 2013 cuts off the GroupWise client
from working.
Trying to get Outlook to work natively with GroupWise has always been
problematic with Microsoft often changing applicable parts of Outlook.
Since Outlook has fine POP & IMAP integration and there are other more
numerous (mostly not Microsoft) mobile clients that need attention as a
higher priority. More and more systems are shipping without Microsoft
Office because it doesn't even run on them (Android, IOS, Linux, ect..)
Last version of Microsoft Office I ran was 2000. I've been happily
OpenOffice/LibreOffice nearly 10 years now and the customers I've switched
to it are loving it as well.

  • Outlook 2013 completely stuck!

I installed Outlook 2013 as part of Office 2013 Pro on 10 computers recently for a charity.
There was a powercut 2 days ago and since on one of them they can no longer get Outlook to work at all.  Emails open but no new ones can come in or go out.  Send and Recieve no longer works.
I cannot seem to post a screen dump on here but when you go into to the FILE option you get the following messages.
The first one is a "Metered Connection warning" stating that the that we are on a metered connection and there may be charges if Outlook has to go online.  This is rubbish of course. Its on a LAN with ADSL broadband.
The second one in Red below that states UPGRADE IN PROGRESS.  Your mailbox is currently being optimized as part of upgrading to Outlook 2013.  This one time process may take more than 15 min.
If I try and go into Account settings it doesnt open anything.
    I have tried the following
An office repair from control panel (no change)
Sytem restore (this failed as it always does in Windows 7)
Restore the outlook PST file from a backup prior to the crash. (just the same error)
I dont know what to try next apart from completely re-install everything.   The computer is only a couple of month old running Windows 7 Pro and Office 2013 Pro.  AV  is MS Security Essentials.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Have you tried starting Outlook in safe mode to check if this problem persists? Press Windows key + R, type
outlook.exe /safe in the Run command and press Enter.
Did Outlook create a new mail profile after you perform a system restore? If not, please try to create a new mail profile to check the result:

In addition, please have a look at the thread below and check if the solution works for you:

  • Outlook 2013 send and receive setting

    Hi all,
I have a strange Outlook 2013 problem. Occasionally, "Scheduled an automatic send/receive even XX minutes." setting in Send/receive page gets uncheck by itself. Sometimes, I notice that my emails are sitting in my outbox and when I check the send/receive settings, above
    setting is checked off.
Has anyone else seen this issue and know of a way to prevent it from happening?
    Thank you.
    Ra

    Hi,
There are several possibilities that may cause this issue.
    1. A GPO setting may forbid the user to define Send/Receive Groups. If other users couldn’t check that checkbox, either, please verify with your administrator if there’s a Group Policy forbids that setting.
    2. The 3rd-party services/add-ins could also be the possible reason, let's troubleshoot this from running Outlook in safe mode, to determine if it is 3rd-party add-ins related:
    To start Safe Mode:
Press win + R and type ”outlook.exe /safe” in the blank box, then press Enter.
If there’s no problem in Safe mode, disable the add-ins to verify again:
    1. FILE > Select Options
    2. Under Options – click Add-ins and now you are able to disable Add-in for your Outlook
    3. Once you have disabled the unwanted Add-ins, restart Outlook to apply the change
Feel free to post back. Thanks.

  • Outlook 2013: Memory smudge, or screen rendering problems due to laggy?

    Hi,
I am observing a strange occurrence among some of my users with Outlook 2013. When they open a few new emails, whether they minimize or switch to another emails to read, there is some portion of the previous emails left behind. It is like a digital
smudge of the previous screen left hanging there. It will go off after awhile
This guy has the same issue as me:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/e930b6c6-3a36-41dd-aad6-4f492fd9e448/having-screen-rendering-memory-problems-with-microsoft-outlook-2013-and-full-screen-mode-with?forum=officeitpro
I don't have a screenshot yet, but I was wondering
if this is due to lack of memory.
    Thanks.

The answer given in the link you referenced is the most likely solution to your issue as it is often caused by the graphics card driver.
Make sure you have the latest driver installed and if that doesn't solve it, disable the hardware graphics acceleration.

  • Problem using the e-mail button in Acrobat Pro 7.1.0 with Outlook 2013

I just switched my e-mail application from Mozilla Thunderbird to Outlook 2013.
I have always been able to click the e-mail button in Acrobat 7.1.0 to open a blank e-mail message with the PDF file attached.
I keep getting an error now that I have Outlook 2013.
It says "You need to create a Microsoft Outlook profile.  In Microsoft Windows, go to the Control Panel and open Mail.  Click Show Profiles, and then click Add"
Then, when I click on the OK button it says "Acrobat is unable to log in to your email application.  Please check your account settings and try again."
I have checked and I have one profile in Control Panel called Outlook.  Outlook is set as my default e-mail program.
I tried using a 3rd party PDF reader (Foxit Reader) and the e-mail button works as expected (opens a new message with the PDF attached).
I am running Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit with Outlook 2013 32-bit (this was what was recommended by Microsoft on the Office download site).
I would appreciate help anyone can provide to fix this problem.
    Thank you.

It may be a similar issue, but not the same issue. This is not the Reader forum, but if you are worried about the compatibility it is a simple matter to upgrade your Reader to AR XI. The original post had to do with a cost product, not the free Reader.
For AA7, the PDF Maker of AA7 is not compatible with Outlook 2013 as suggested. You should still be able to open most PDFs, but to create a PDF from Outlook you will have to print to the Adobe PDF printer or upgrade to AA XI.

  • HP Laserjet CM2320 MFP driver problem with Outlook 2013

    Hi,
The problem starts when you want to print from Outlook 2013 ( Office365 flavour ).
You can print once. Then Outlook and the printspooler crashes.
In the print qu you find pages NA and no kb for the printvolume.
Impossible to delete the printjob normaly.
Only reboot helps to recover printing possibilitys with the exception of Outlook 2013.
After consulting HP, we tried to prin with PCL 6 an Post Script drivers with changed, advanced, settings.
    This does not help.
More then one PC faces this problem.
Do you have an idea to fix this ?
    Best regards
    Paul

    Hi Paul,
It might be that the 'OutlPrnt' is corrupted on your computer. This is the file where Outlook keeps its printing style settings.
Please try to recover from this by renaming the OutlPrnt file to .old when Outlook is closed and verify the results. You can find the file in %Appdata%/microsoft/outlook.

  • Outlook 2013 something went wrong sorry we ran into a problem

my outlook started hanging and causing problems a few days ago where sent messages were sitting in outbox without sending. and when you closed and reopened outlook the messages has vanished completely without sending. I'm unable to get outlook
to open.  I keep getting the message something went wrong sorry we ran into a problem. All other office 2013 programs will function correctly. I have also tried to open the control panel/mail (outlook 2013) (32 bit) icon, but this pauses
for a while and then brings up no window to configure an account. I managed to get my exchange account set up in the mail app but I'm not interested in using the mail app when i should be able to utilize all the functionality of outlook.
I have spent a couple days reading all the posts and tried uninstalling office 2013 pro and the mail app thinking i'd clean install the 64-bit version of office but to no avail. Looks like the preloaded office 13 cannot be uninstalled, so I then
downloaded the O15CTRRemove tool which worked in removing office 2013, but did not fix the problem of outlook not opening. This is driving me crazy and I have tried many suggestions from the online forums, and have got outlook to open a couple of times where
it was then asking for a product key, and when the key was entered outlook would close straight away and not allow it to open again. I have tried running the repair tool many times, and this does not work. Every other program I have had zero issues with; autocad,
adobe suite, everything runs perfect. I just want to get my outlook all set up.Please advise!

    Hi,
Please check whether you can send message in OWA. If there is no issue in OWA, it should be an Outlook issue. It seems that there is just one user encontered this issue in your environment. If so, please start Outlook in safe mode by using "Outlook /safe"
in Run windows to check whether the issue persists. If it fails, please change a computer to try again.

  • Outlook 2013 IMAP E-Mail Sync Problems

I'm using Outlook 2013 and have run into a few problems.  First, when checking my email, not all messages appear in my Inbox.  Comparing the inboxes of the desktop Outlook client and the online web access of my personal account (not Outlook.com),
I can see a few dozen emails from over the past week that have not been synced.  I cannot sense a pattern as to why some have been downloaded and some haven't (some have been read and some unread, none flagged or otherwise altered) but it's quite frustrating
to not be able to rely on something as straightforward as checking email.  I have used this email account for over 10 years and past versions of Outlook without any problems.
Furthermore, whenever I start Outlook I have to switch folders from Inbox to another and back again before the 'Inbox synchronization' begins. If I do not change folders, Outlook runs a Send/Receive but doesn't alter the messages, just leaving the Inbox
as it was last time I opened the program.  Granted I only have to click to any folder and back to the Inbox to get it working, but it's yet another issue I'm having with a brand new program.
Please let me know if there are any work arounds or known bugs but I'd prefer not to try any actions that will only address past problems and not future ones (e.g. solutions proposed like 'delete account and recreate' sound to me like it would only do a
re-sync now but not affect any future errors).  I appreciate your input and effort to help me address this.  Also, please don't hesitate to ask for more information (server name, settings, etc.).

    Hi,
For both issues, please run Outlook in Safe Mode to determine if it's 3rd-party add-ins related:
Press Win + R and type “outlook.exe /safe” in the blank box, then press Enter.
If there’s no problem in Safe Mode, disable the suspicious add-ins to verify which add-ins caused this issue.
We may also try repairing Office in Control Panel to check the result.
Since a new profile always helps many users, we suggest you can have a try:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829918/en-us
If you use an IMAP account on Outlook, you don't have to worry about the loss of data since it will sync automatically from the server and create a new data file.
I hope the information is helpful.

  • Outlook 2013 Category view not updating after Exchange 2010 SP3 RU3

After updating to Exchange 2010 SP3 RU3 last night, users who use categories view in Outlook 2013 are complaining that the view does not update. The alert is received in the notification area and the unread message count next to Inbox updates appropriately.
The view can be force updated by switching between All and Unread, by using Reset View, or closing and opening Outlook.  It seems anything that forces a 'redraw' of the view will update it - except for the actual reception of email.  I easily replicated
    this issue.  For reference:
    Exchange 2010 SP3 RU3
    Windows 7 x64 Ent
    Outlook 2013 (15.0.4551.1004) 32-bit
I do see that SP3 RU4 has been released, however the only change listed is a security patch.
    Thank you for any ideas.

    Hi, Everyone –
This has been a known issue for a very long time – we have people at our workplace that are very disappointed since a feature as great as categorizing email (not using tasks) has become broken and has not even been considered to be fixed for
over half a year.  It was not fixed in the updates for Patch Tuesday this week.
I would like to confirm that this is an issue with Outlook 2010 and 2013 when running the latest Exchange 2010 and there is NO FIX
    – I have scoured the internet for a solution – all proposed "textbook" solutions do not work and I am positive that the issue can be recreated; however, everyone from Microsoft does not mention trying to recreate the issue at all.
The workaround of creating a rule to send new emails to a category could break other pre-existing rules and cause more frustration and wasted time for users/IT before and after the issue is fixed.
Please fix this issue sooner than later, as the Categories view is completely broken and unusable at this point in time.
    Regards,
    IT Helper

  • Office 365/Outlook 2013 Shared Mailbox Sent Items Problem

I've only been able to find an answer for this problem for Outlook 2010, and that doesn't work for 2013.
I'm trying to make the sent items for a shared mailbox save to the sent items of that mailbox, not my mailbox.  I got the deleted items to finally work, I just need to get the sent items to work now.
    I've read about this key:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Options\Conversations
But I don't have the conversations folder, should I make it?
    I've also seen this:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Preferences\DelegateSentItemsStyle
But that doesn't seem to work with Office 2013.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

We have the same problem with a client. We are using Office 365 with Outlook 2013 on a RDS Windows Server 2012 R2. I can't find the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Preferences
folder in the registry. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\ is as far as it gets.
Even when we sent from the Office 365 online mailbox and fill in the from address, the sent mail is stored in the sent items folder from the user instead of the shared mailbox.
I've searched everywhere for a solution, but I haven't found one yet.
    Regards,
    Steve

  • Syncronization problem using Office 365 with Outlook 2013

    Hi
I have a problem with my Outlook 2013.
On my Office computer, I am using a Mac Computer and I have my gail account on it.
On my Laptop I have Windows 8.1 and Office 2013.
I have my POP account configured and I am able to send and receive e-mail, but when I delete an e-mail
on my Mac it won`t delete it on my Outlook 2013...
    Any Ideas?
    Thank you!
    Moriyas

    Hi Moriyas,
George is right. POP accounts do not allow Outlook to sync with the mail server. In this case, if you deleted a message from one of your devices, this update/change will not get sync'd to your mail server, hence all other devices with the same
account configured will have no chance to get the updates.
If it is possible (if your ISP support IMAP also), you might consider switching to IMAP configuration, which is the better choice for those who frequently use multiple devices to work with their email.

  • Indexing problem in outlook 2013

    Dear Sir,
I am facing problem in search of email in outlook 2013. earlier I have outlook 2007. I uninstall and got new outlook 2013 version. my old email remain are intact but I am facing problem of search of old email.  when I put any word search, outlook gives
the message that indexing in under progress. in last three days, indexing is not able to complete and same no. of files are being displayed.

    Hi,
May I know how large the data files you use are in Outlook 2013? If the data files are quite large it may take longer time to index.
If the Indexing process is never complete, the Index may be damaged, let's consider to rebuild it. Before we do this, I suggest you run Scanpst.exe to make sure the issue wasn't caused by the data file corruption. The location of this tool depends
    on your Outlook version:
    32-bit Windows
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15
    64-bit Windows
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15
    64-bit Outlook
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15
    Click-to-Run
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\root\office15
Open all the data files in Outlook, try to scan and repair them.
After the process above is done, go to Control Panel-> Indexing Options-> Advanced-> button Rebuild
(Type “Indexing” in the Search field of Control Panel to quickly locate the applet.)
This will rebuild the entire Index from scratch and depending on the amount of documents to be indexed, this could take quite long and degrade your system’s performance while the Indexer is still busy.
