In my project also i want to send automatic emails and also want to retrieve emails automatically.
i did retrieving and sending emails with user interaction.But i want to do automatically.In your post you told that your having code for sending automatic emails.
can u please send me that code?

Dont hold your breath, there is a thread with hundreds of people asking for such code and no-one ever posted it.
The easiest way is to use a cron job
If you want to use Java instead of cron have a look at

Its a java based job scheduler, you can use this to shedule your mails, or, as its open source, you can just take the code you need and add it to your esisting mailing code.

Issues while sending automatic email from job scheduled via sm36

Dear basis guys,
We are on Netweaver 2004s, ERP 6 .
I am scheduling (in SM36) a standard report output as background job, send its output to a pdf device and send this pdf automatically to email address. Everything is working fine except that I am not able to do the following:
1. Cannot change the email title (APR****-spool request no.) and body from "The Mail Attachment Contains the Print File Created by User..."
2. I need to send the email to several people. Cannot use the distribution list with the pdf device. IF I use in sm36 "spool list recipients" instead, the attachment sent as pdf will result truncated. Not all report lines will show.
Could someone help on any of the above?

I think the error message is pretty clear, you have to setup authentication for the SMTP connection in Database Mail, see

Workflow Steps send automatic emails, but this is not required..??

   we have a strange problem we got recently with our workflows steps we are using.
   The Workflow Steps and Workitems works all just fine, the Issue is that some times the trigerred Workflow Steps automaticly send an an external email to the User outlook with the Wokitem Text & Description, i dont remember that i have activated any thing to send email in the Workflow steps we are using...Please help and advice why this emails is sent out and how we can deactivate it.
We are using the standard SAP Performance Management Workflows, Example WF-Step: TS12300110.

Again, i would like to clarify some thing here:
1. The Workflow Tasks we are using in out Process are working just fine.

2. In this SAP Workflow Tasks, there is no step which send an email to the WF-User.
3. To send an Email to user we can use the Reports RSWUWFML mor RSWUWFML2 as you mentioned, i know this well and yes they are planned in the System with a Variant, but which does not include our Workflow Tasks in it. and also the Report RSWUWFML is planned to run once a day in the evening, but we are getting the Emails directly after triggerring the WF-Tasks...strange?
4. I have checked the Tcode SWE2 and found one entry to the WF we are using:
BOR-Objekttyp     APPR_DOC     INFO_APPRAISER_CHANGE_APPROVE     WS12300115
If i deactivate here i will shut down the Workflow ..right?

Help needed from Adobe for unauthorised activity on my account

Help please!
I bought some education software from an Adobe supplier on the recommendation of my school. It turns out (without me knowing or being told when I placed the order) that I was being sold old software, at what he now claims was cost price (interesting as I subsequently bought the next version for just $30 more). I have not been able to register that software as it was the wrong version for my region, and after a month of trying I asked for a refund.
He is now accessing my account, (probably from a link in an email i sent him!!) and is trying to get the software he sold me registered so he doesn't have to refund me!
Okay, so bad enough that I have hassles with this "person" but worse that he has access to my account and I seem unable to change this.
This whole process has been a nightmare!! I need to close two open cases immediately but can't get hold of Adobe by phone or on chat!!! Help please!

Help setting up cron to send me emails

I'm currently using cron to run daily backups of my system and to also run rkhunter. When I was using openSUSE I could set up my email to check my local account. I believe that I need "postfix" to be able to do this so I installed it. What else do I need to do besides having this program installed? When I try to add the local account in kmail it is asking me to select a file location. I'm not sure what file to select here. In openSUSE it was already selected for me. Any ideas?

I'm no expert on postfix and used to rely on the PostFix HostOnly Howto page in the wiki. Unfortunately, that page got deleted a week or so ago and the content doesn't appear to have been copied into either of the other two postfix pages. Anyway, this is the gist of what it contained:

Check /var/log/mail.log for any errors.
Try sending an email:

Is there a way to schedule automatic emails from Mail, without using iCal?

Well, there's Andreas Amann's scripts, which include a mail scheduler, but it uses iCal, and you don't want that. It would be relatively simple to do it yourself - write an Applescript to build and send the mail, then have cron run it at the appropriate time.
Maybe you could modify AA's script and run it with cron rather than iCal?

TS3276 How do I stop the mail program from attempting to send an email with a probably corrupt address?

My "Postmaster" keeps attempting to send an email with one or two corrupt email addresses, or non existent address and I do not know which one it is. How do I stop it attempting further deliveries?

I don't know for sure this is what will work, but set up separate SMTP servers for each Gmail account, using your specific logins for each.
On the Account page in Preferences, Account Information, select Edit SMTP Server List from the Outgoing mail Server (smtp) popup menu.
Copy the current one for Gmail and edit it to use the necessary login information.
For each account, select the desired smtp server and set the checkbox to only use that server.
When you reply or compose a new message, make sure From indicates the correct account.

HELP. Using iCal to send timed emails - I used to be able to do this...

Ok - there's a chance I've gone completly mad - or I just dreamt this - but: Once upon a time I used iCal to send timed emails (with Mail) to outside addresses without the emails looking like they came from iCal.
I did this for things like 'calling' in sick to work (therefor looking like I was up at 8:15 being ill, instead of sleeping comfortably in hung over splendor) or sending out parts of work throughout the workday (instead of when I'd actually completed them at three in the morning).
This was very useful.
I just can't now figure out how I did this.
Has one of the iCal updates removed this function? Is there something obvious I've forgotten?
I seem to remember using iCal to trigger a file that in turn sent the email - but again I can't trust my memory.
Anyone have any hints or ideas? I'm driving my self mad on this one.

I am in the same predicament. I would essentially like to accomplish the same deal, as seen below. . . (from another forum that went unanswered.)
I use iCal (1.5.5/ 2.0.3) currently but own Entourage (11.2.1) as well. I have clients that I service on a weekly or biweekly basis whose appointments are in my iCal; I call and remind them the day before. The majority of these people are great about checking email. I would like to set up an automated email reminder which is sent to them for each appointment, two days in advance that does not contain an .ics file. Many times my clients' email app has junked the message due to the small attachment. Others don't want to open a file when they don't know what it is.
Predetermined timed stamped/Automated iCal events are possible aren't they?! If not, do I have to move over to :dreaded Entourage?

Send Automatic Emails to Customers

Guys,
We have a requirement to send an email to the customers, two weeks after they place an order. The email will have a survey link.
Can we accomplish this using actions & action profiles? If I do use action profiles, can we make sure it triggers automatically after two weeks?
Secondly, not all orders would be created in CRM. Some might be created in R/3 and replicated back to CRM. Will the action trigger for replicated orders?

The email trigger after two weeks can be achieved by using the date profile.
1. The date profile for the transaction should contain one date type X which will hold a date rule as today+2 weeks.
Thus when the order is created the date type will have a date value 2 weeks after the creation of the order.
For ex: The order is created on 13-12-08. the date type X will hold a value 27-12-08.
2. Create an action in the action profile for triggering an eamil to PF sold to party which will have the strat condition as Todays date = Date type X.
This will trigger an email when the start condition is satisfied i.e two weeks after the creation of the order.
