Help on MSI Ti4800

Greetings to all!
I'm very sorry, but i didn't have no other solution that ask for you help. I know this kind of problem has been discuss in many other posts, but this problem still exist, even after i tried all the actions posted in these messages.
My problem is:
After the installation the MSI Graffic Card, i can do almost everything (e-mail, work, excel...) but i can't play any gamesFS2002,Subcomand,Morrowind,POW, OP.Flashpoint,GP4 and so on).
After the game loads, i can manage to play for some time (+-10/15 Minutes), but suddently the screens goes black and i return to my desktop.
I have try almost everything (format c:, try different VGA drivers, Low settings, DX8.1 and DX9.0), but no sucess!, the problem appear again.
I have check the settings on the IRQ and the graffic card is not sharing IRQ with no other card, so at this time my solutions have run out. ;(
In resume:
Can be a problem with the power suply?, what is the correct specs to a compatible power suply for this card?
Can be a problem with the compatibility with my board?
My Specs:
PIV 1.7Ghz
Seagate 40Ghz
Sound blaster pci128
Samsung CD 52x
Samsung CDRW 16-10-32
Mainboard: Asus P4B  - With the last driver available:1012
MSI TI4800SE - VDT8x - Driver 42.75
DirectX 9.0
1024mb SDram
PSU 260W
Samtron 96B monitor
Windows XP Pro
Yestarday i receive a information from MSI Support, that adviced me to upgrade my Ram memory, so i pass from 512Mb SDRAM to 1024Mb SDRAM, but the problem still lives on! ;(
Now i am almost desesperated! almost crying for the money invested in this card!.
Sorry for this long message, i really appreciate all your help and comments.
Thank you very much
Sincerely Yours,
Mário Silva
Portugal

At this moment, i think i resolve the problem, thank for your help!
I change my PSU260w, for a new one, a Qtec 550w dual fan gold (http://www.q.tec.info)
until now, morrowind, gp4, fs2002 are working just fine and i hope they continue for a long time!  :D
With this issue resolved, i have another litle problem about the creation of a registry entry, to enable the hide features on 3dTurbo. if you are able to help me, i have post the following message:

Need help with msi mega 180 + athlon xp-m combo

AFAIK, you shouldn't need a pinmod for a Mobile Athlon XP CPU to work in a nforce2 mobo
did you have any other CPU installed prior to this one? if so, refer here to clear the CMOS: Clear CMOS Guide
next, refer to your manual, or download from MSI, for location of the FSB jumpers; ensure J8 is shorted across pins 1-2, and J7 is shorted
finally, enter your BIOS setup menu, and under Advanced Chipset Features, set CPU FSB to 133mhz (or even 166mhz if you have DDR333 memory). the only thing i can't see in the Mega 180 manual is where you set the multiplier...
which is where the BIOS has limited overclocking features, and you might have a problem here
i think i'll pass this over to the Overclockers forum, where someone may be able to give a better answer....

  • [HELP] My MSI External Hard Drive Enclosure cannot be recognized by my laptop...

As the subject tells my MSI cannot be recognized by my laptop...
At first I thought that my laptop is the one at fault but i tried inserting it on my friends computer but still doesn't work.
Then I blame the USB connector but tried using it on other devices and it works.
The only one left to be blamed is the device itself.
the model of this device is MSI UH1000-K500
Before this device broke(i guess) I am copying my important files to my PC.
I cant seem to see the drive in my "drive manager".
But I can see it on "Devices and printer"
Can anyone help me how to fix this?
    I really need your help...

    nope it didn't got partitioned/formatted...
I'm sorry for late reply been busy this past few weeks...
I already returned the device on the seller because it is still in warranty period...
    thx for the help anyway...

  • Need Svet's Help! MSI GT70 492-US

I recently sent my laptop into a repair center (Non msi to my mistake) where the person replaced the motherboard with a new one. Upon replacing the motherboard the repairman also wanted me to pay for a new keyboard, stating that the keyboard was acting erratically, and is need of a repair. However, I'm starting to think it has something to do with software issues pertaining to the bios. Every key is functional, but is mapped to do something else. The letter h, for example types out the letter b. I see there's another thread extremely similar to the problem I am facing and the person found a solution, however he was not coherent in explaining the solution and was one of those people who fixes the problem without gratitude nor informational sharing. Therefore, I am pleading to the experts on here to please help me with this issue as it is extremely annoying.
Also, another generic optimus problem. With every single game I play, the white optimus light is on the power button, and FPS does not seem to correlate with the machine's expected performance. I did do quite a bit of research before typing this out but no BIOS tweaks or anything of that sort. I set the default GPU to the 675mx, ran it using the 675mx, I'm monitoring the gpu activity, everything, yet it still lacks that hmmpph and framerate drops occur in games as old as SPORE.
Please note that I am very willing to donate for a private bios or EC or ANYTHING that will be the god-like solution to the many problems I am facing now, and faced before the "repair of this laptop". So from anything like being able to overclock the monitor above the 60hz intel-forced limit, to overclocking the CPU; I am willing to pay.
    Thanks in advance!

you can create a bootable USB key by following this guide:
    http://www.bay-wolf.com/usbmemstick.htm
once done extract all files that i give you and copy them to the USB stick
then reboot notebook and press F11 and then select the USB key to boot from
when you see A:\ or C:\, type:
    ecall.bat [ENTER]
Alrighty, these instructions seem easy enough. It seems to be taking quite a while to format the usb disk, so in this time, I'd like to get straight to the money stuff. How easy is it to use your legendary software edits? I am definitely not as tech-savvy as most people on here so I really don't want to screw up my system, yet I am very much willing to gamble to improve the performance of my pc. Will we speak on a 1-on-1 basis to tweak my pc? I'm completely new to this, sorry for all the questions.

  • Need help with MSI P45 Neo3-FR

I haven't been here in a long time. My old board (just replacing it) worked perfectly for almost 4 years after I ironed out the kinks (MSI 865p Neo2-FISR) but I finally decided to upgrade my rig, but here comes the headaches...
I bought the following for my new setup:
MSI P45 Neo3-FR (came with BIOS 1.3 installed)
    2GB (2x1) Corsair Dominator 6400C4D
    MSI Radeon HD 4850
Intel Pentium Dual Core E2180 (I want to overclock it hehe)
    Lite-On SATA CD/DVD-RW
    Old Hardware being used:
    Antec TruPower 550W EPS12 (single rail 36amps on +12)
Cooler Master Centurion (forgot what model) Case
    Logitech USB Keyboard
    Logitech MX518 USB Mouse
    2x120mm fans
2xMaxtor SATA 80GB HDDs (note: NOT SATA II, and I want to run these in RAID 0 off the ICH10R, this is specifically why I bought this board I was going to go with the P43-Neo3 over this, but the inclusion of RAID sold me on it)
1xMaxtor SATA 160GB HDD (note: NOT SATA II)
Aside some trouble I had with the Intel HSF installation was a breeze. Everything is in. I wanted to run everything stock first. Jumped into the BIOS and set the following:
    SATA Controller - RAID
    DRAM Voltage - 2.1v
    Drive Layout:
    SATA1 - 80GB Maxtor
    SATA2- 80GB Maxtor
    SATA7 - Optical Drive
    SATA8 - 160GB Maxtor
First power on to get into the BIOS was quick. After setting SATA to RAID, POST will hang at Auto-Detecting ACHI Port 1....then find HDD after about 20-30 seconds. And it will repeat itself for Port 2. So its taking me close to a minute (I might be exagerrating but it sure isn't quick and long enough to irritate me having to keep booting) just to POST and even access the BIOS.
Tried to use my current Windows XP install, got to the Windows XP Splash screen and it rebooted. Tried again, with super long ass POST, again rebooted at the splash screen. Said, fine I'll reinstall XP.
While browsing here I forgot where I read about the SATA and long posts, so I changed my 2x80GBs to SATA3 and SATA4, it no longer takes a minute to POST, goes quick as normal.
Set Optical to boot, go into the Windows XP Install screen, F6 for custom drivers, made a RAID disc using three sources (1. RAID drivers from MSI Website, 2. RAID drivers from MSI CD included with Motherboard, 3. RAID Drivers from Intel website) and each time at a certain point I'd get a BSOD.
Tried again by moving my last HDD/Optical to the ICH10 and disabled the Jmicron. Same, BSOD.
Switched off RAID in the BIOS and set it to IDE. AGain BSOD at XP Install.
Started to think it was a Memory issue, ran Memtest both sticks passed.
One thing I noticed in the BIOS, it has my RAM clocked at 1066. Everything is on auto minus the voltage, but I didn't think it would affect it. So I changed the Ratio from auto to 1:2 (800mhz CPU:800mhz DRAM) but still BSOD everytime I try to install Windows.
This is getting frustrating. I've run out of ideas. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Read here how to do it:
    >>> Slipstreaming Windows XP Service Pack 2 and Create Bootable CD<<<
    >>> Slipstreamed Windows XP CD Using SP2<<<
Other option is borrow such installation disk from friends.
I moved away from my "friends" and none PC literate, so I'd be better off driving to the store and buying Vista at this point. Haha.
Okay, going to try this...sounds like that project I started a whiles back but got lazy.
Thanks guys, I'll report any results.

    Hi HarmitClaire,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that your MacBook Air is not charging as expected. In this situation there are troubleshooting steps that I would recommend. Please use the attached article as a resource for steps to help you resolve this situation.
Mac notebooks: All about batteries - Apple Support
    My battery is not charging
Confirm the correct wattage AC adapter for the computer. A power adapter rated for a lower wattage than is required for the system may not reliably charge the computer. For assistance identifying the proper adapter, review Intel Based Mac notebooks: Identifying the right power adapter and power cord--US. Additional adapter troubleshooting is available in Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters. If issues persist please reset the SMC.

  • Really need help with MSI R7970-2PMD3GD5/OC:(

    Greetings to all,
I really need help with my brand new MSI R7970-2PMD3GD5/OC. I've purchased it two days ago and I didn't really have time to test the card until yesterday. The card is I think way to hot for my "liking". It idles at 56c-60c, at full load in Heaven benchmark 3.0 in 1920x1080, extreme tessellation and 8xAA card reaches 95c-97c. Stock cloacks are 1010Mhz/1375Mhz and stock voltage is 1,174v. Case is being cooled by two Noctua NF-P12 fans. Also I tried lowering the voltage and "underclocking" the card to a standard 925Mhz in small increments, but it doesn't help at all. Each and every time it results in BSOD and dx dll errors and complete system failures. Replacing the card wouldn't be a problem if I lived in a "normal" country that has access to a steady supply. Retailer that sold me a card told me that only 5 cards total have been imported from the launch day and told me that i bought the "last" card in my country. They could order a replacement but it would take them more then a month to do so.:( Ohhh and one more thing I don't overclock, everything in my case is at their default values.
Recently, I read that "Amd released" a bios update for a standard reference boards that turns them into a "GHZ editions". Also lot of users report a lower voltage requirements and lower temps with that "boost bios". As I understand this card pcb is not Amd's reference board design, I could be wrong it's not that uncommon.. So I didn't want to risk warranty by flashing it to a position 1. Will MSI release the boost bios for this model of card? I am humbly asking MSI staff on how to proceed regarding this problem. I would be immensely grateful for any help you could provide.

what PC case you use exactly?
have you tried to open PC case side door and to retest?
    Hi,
it's open case. If i close it the temps get even worse:(
They get better for other components, but not for gpu. Two Noctua NF-P12's are cooling the case, first one is positioned above gpu, left side next to cpu. Other is right beneath the gpu, right side of case. Just under the hdd section of the case. I tested each and every component with my backup card nv 8500gt. They function within the specified parameters. I'm getting somewhat worried.

cause i connected the 4 pin on the bottom of it ( next to the audio ports)
    Yes, its "tricky" a bit
Find and connect EPS/ATX12V 8-4 pin cable for the CPU. But deattach it 1st: /* Its 8pin, one piece by default */
Once done plug it to JPWR1:

  • MSI TI4800 Tv-Out problem

This is an incredibly annoying problem, I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the card itself but I'm hoping that someone else has experienced the same kind of problem...
Everything works fine as far as connecting the tv to the computer, and I see the screen clearly. I can play games and do whatever else on the computer the problem only occurs when I want to watch a movie. The movie runs fine to start with, but when I turn on 'fullscreen mode' in whatever program I use the edges and outlines of objects in the movie gets fuzzy. I can stretch the movie window out
It doesn't matter what program I use, but with my old GeForce2 card the picture is fine which is why I'm starting to think it's a problem caused by the MSI card.
The card is currently connected from the S-Video connector on the converter onto my S-Video-in connector on the TV [Exactly the same cables and everything else that I use with my GeForce2].
I've tried with several different drivers, the ones that came with the card nVidia's newest drivers along with the former version of the nVidia drivers. The problem remains.
I hope I have submitted enough information to solve the problem..
    Best regards,
    Jules

    Thanks for the reply..
I've tried with different programs(Windows Media Player 7.0 and 9.0 and GDiVX) both have the same kind problem.
Alas, I did what you asked me to do, check the BIOS label on the graphics card itself, although the only problem was I couldn't remove the friggin cooler which covers half the card. Also means I couldn't get the number you needed, atleast not for now. So I wonder if I can get the information needed through browsing the computer without actually having to fiddle around with the heatsink or if I have to remove it with great force
Or perhaps is it so that the BIOS chip is located on the backside of the card, in which case I will have to open it up again and take a look(didn't quite think about that until now :/)
I may have to add that the TV on which I try to watch the movie from the computer 100hz "refresh rate"(or what you would call it..) but I don't see why that would make a difference when it didn't with other graphics cards I've tried..?
The information I can find about BIOS right now, from reading what's in MSI information under display properties is as follows:
    BIOS Version: 4.28.20.21.00
Not sure if that's what you might be looking for though, being as it looks nothing like n8852ms100..
That's all I can find for now, thanks for the help so far and I hope to hear from you again soon..
    Best Regards,
    Jules

  • I need help with MSI CR52-A2 52x24x52x CDRW Drive

    Hi,
I am running Windows XP Home Edition.  My MSI CR52-A2 52x24x52x CDRW Drive will not work.  When I restart my computer the light on it flashes red, green, red, green, red, green, etc...  When XP is running, if I click on the drive under "My Computer" it opens up the drive but no files are found.  If I try to add new hardware, I'm told that the drive is working properly.  When I try to burn a CD with Windows Media Player I'm told no CD Burner is found on my system.  Please help!  Does this have to do with the BIOS?

    Welcome to the forum superaverage.
    1) Before posting any problems related to your optical drive, please post full system specs AND PSU rails (look at my signature).
    2) Tell us how do you have your drive setup (Master, Slave, in primary channel or secondary channel).
    Edyros!
The recommended setup for ANY CD-R/W or DVD-R/W is to set them in the secondary channel as secondary master (assuming that your primary master is your HDD).
If you're using nero as your burning program, try downloading the latest ASPI drivers for windows XP.
Try flashing your drive's firmware to support more media and to fix minor bugs.
ALWAYS use an 80-conductor IDE cable for ANY drive.

  • Help with MSI K8N Neo Platinum

HELP please- motherboard MSI K8N Neo PLATINUM: I tried to take away the backplate for the heatsink (on the back side of MB) in order to install the zalman HS beafore i read the forum (use a fan...) and the worst of all happend:
I scratched the back surface!! the scratches are minor, that is 4 scratches half a milimeter long each and not deep but i can see the copper of some lines leading from the memory slots to the processr. My question is : can I try and build the computer on that motherboard anyway or better buy a new one? is there a risk of dammaging other components? oh god what a mistake!

Make sure the new backplate is non-conductive. The backplate for the Hyper 6 has a non-conductive sticker on it. Make sure to keep it on if youve got one... If the lines are exposed even with the back-plate on perhaps you should cover them with some non-conductive (100% non conductive!) tape or something.
Then it doesnt matter if they are exposed, as long as they are ok.
A good tip, which got when i was removing my backplate, is to use a blow dryer to heat it up and the remove it with your fingers. That way youll also notice if it gets to hot
The glue gets sticky at blow drier temps. And pls, dont singe the MB with your blow dryer, you only have to make it hot, and if you cant touch it, how can you remove it with your fingers?
I guess theres no way of telling if you have a serious prob and no way to tell if your cpu will be ok. I guess you could (?) try and start it wíthout anything (cpu, mems) but a PSU, and then, if it (and maybe the PSU) goes "!Pfsssssss!"  or "bang!", youll now you will have to replace it.
I put a screwdriver through an asus board once, and it still worked...
