i just got a new black ipod classic 80gb from apple care as a brand new replacement and it stopped working on me two days later. i went into an apple store the next day and the genius simply replaced the new [less than 14 day old] ipod with a refurbished one. i don't see why i would have gotten a refurb when my classic was less than 14 days old. so now i'm on the phone with apple and i would like a new replacement ipod classic...not another refurb. however, i don't know how to really tell them or explain it to them.
how should i go about this?

If that doesn't work and you purchased it with a credit card then you can dispute the charge with you credit card company. Your user agreement usually has a clause in there guaranteeing to protect you from fraud.

Now with the 6 Plus, neither of things work. The message on the radio (Kenwood) says I Pod error. The message on my phone say's "this device is supported".
I have called on this before and was told you are aware and that the issue will be addressed in a future update. There have been several updates on IOS 8 and the issue remains.

I have a Kenwood KDC-X695. When I purchased this stereo and had it installed, I had an ATT iPhone 4.
It worked with the stereo, but had a few issues. I had purchased a few audio books that I would listen to while driving. When I plugged it in it would immediately begin to play the book from the beginning or if I had been listening to music, it would start playing the song that was at the top of the song list.
The stereo came equipped with Firmware version 3.05. I upgraded to the iPhone 5 a year later. I had that phone for approximately 2 years. The song or book issue remained the same.
I just recently upgraded to the iPhone 6 and the Bluetooth function still works, however the USB port on the stereo that the phone plugs into to allow files on the phone to play through the stereo no longer works.
I contacted the service provider (Verizon) and after speaking to several different technical support technicians, they provided me the phone numbers for Kenwood and Apple because they were unable to help me.
I spoke with Kenwood technical support the following day and after a few fumbling miscues from the technical advisor, it was suggested that I upgrade the firmware, even though the Kenwood literature warns against this if the Bluetooth portion is working, because if there is a problem with the upgrade, it can render the Bluetooth useless and non-functional. The advisor did suggest the latest firmware on the second or third attempt, after I pointed out what I was able to glean from my initial search.
Later that day, I went back to the Kenwood site (from their homepage) and by using their selection tools, discovered that this particular model was only ever intended to be used with the iPhone 4S (the technical advisor was not aware of this, even though I mentioned this during my phone call earlier in the day). According to the Firmware selection tool, my iPhone 5 should not have worked with it.
I performed the Firmware upgrade, and it took 13 minutes. This was less than the 15 minutes that was forecast in the Kenwood literature. The Bluetooth still works but the USB cable connection still causes the unsupported device message that I received prior to the upgrade. I am incredibly annoyed and disappointed.
By upgrading to the iPhone 6, I have three choices; (1) only use the Bluetooth for phone calls without the ability to play other files from my iPhone 6 (2) forced obsolescence of my stereo, requires buying a new stereo (3) return my iPhone 6 and go back to my iPhone 5.
I do not believe that I should have to be a software/Firmware/hardware engineer, vetting every single device that I own; prior to upgrading a cell phone.
I am incredibly annoyed with Apple at the moment.
I have a separate Bluetooth headset that worked with both my iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 that the iPhone 6 simply does not recognize. That is another story for another time.
Currently, I am incredibly underwhelmed with Apple.

It appears that there are many people experiencing a whole host of issues. Lots of discussion on whether these are manufacturer or service-provider issues.
I have one week left to decide if I'm going to keep the phone/carrier.

Ohhh... why didn't I think of that? Guess it makes sense that people are here to troubleshoot and/or complain.
I can't get service at home. No data service at all. And often no signal/service for a simple phone call. I've lived in the same place for 10 years and have been through a few phones without any signal issues.
It could be that there's a barrier between me and the nearest tower (which is pretty darn near). But the fact that I've been able to get service with all previous devices suggests, to me, that this phone doesn't have a strong enough antenna to work around whatever interference there may be. It looks like lots of people are having the same issue whether its at their homes or elswhere.
Also, a new development as of today: voicemail notification stays on at all times, after I've checked/deleted VM's and even when I have no new messages.

Lumia 930 & Here Drive+ Freezing Issues

Just recently used my Lumia 930 on my commute to work and the app seized up and stopped responding about 4 times in a 30 minute journey. It possibly might have something to do with GPS and cellular coverage in the area I was but my 920 just looked for the GPS again. Has anyone experienced this yet?

I also have Great issues with here drive freezing up constantly on my 930. This is a big problem, as I use my Phone every day for navigation, and have done so with all my Nokia devices,n95, n97, n8, lumia 800, lumia 900, lumia 920, and now this 930.
Now I have had to buy a Garmin as well, cause this freezing up all the time, is not usable at all.
I have noticed some problems with my 930, that it have small location problems. When i drive on 1 of two parallel roads with a gap of up to 50-70 meters, the Phone often mistake witch road im on. When it finds out, it lags a Lot on catching up on location, telling me im driving up to 200 km/h. In this sequence it often freezes up. Yesterday when I drove between two costumers, I tried to use here drive again, and it froze up 5 times on only 12 km, and then I gave up.
When it freezes, "here drive" have to Be restarted.
The Phone gets hot as hell, even more than my previous 920.
Actually I even belive at some points, this new 930 is a bit more sluggish than my old 920. Have you guys been a Little to optimistic with battery saver??

I'm a "almost" proud owner of this little and powerful piece of hardware but I'm probably having some malfunction with this device. I need someone who also has one of this wireless usb adapters to answear this questions, please
When I connect to any acess point I have to manualy set iwconfig wlan0 rate (1 to 5mbps) because it selects 48 or 54mbps and is unable to keep conectivity to ANY AP at ANY DISTANCE (no ping response, but conection is active (0 packets)).
Also I noticed that there are no wireless AP's with less than -78db. They just disapear at -78dB instead of the usual -95 to -100db.
On windows (biuck) rate is not an issue, it selects rates as low as 1M in a -65dB connection, it's slow, but works. Just like on linux, on windows there are no networks with less than "3 sticks" of strengh. It completly looses conectivity if I lower the signal. Usualy I'm able to connect to AP's with "1 stick" (-90dB, SNR 1 or 2) with other wifi adapters. (xp, vista, seven)
Question 1: Does this happens to you?
Question 2: Maybe rma is a good ideia no?
Any information is a good help to me. I still have 4 more months of warranty

I had to format my drive and reinstall leopard. some of my purchased music are from an email I no longer have or use.
in itunes, double clicking many songs opens the password screen for this old itunes store account, and it wants the password I know longer have.
How can I get these songs to play again, or get apple to let me download them again?

But getting into the iTunes Store with that account won't get you access to tracks you've lost. Officially Apple does not allow redownloads of purchased items. It's your responsibility to make backup copies in case something goes wrong with your system, as unfortunately it apparently did in your case, and you lose all the information on your hard drive. The official statement of their policy can be found here, among other places. If your hard drive was erased and you haven't made a backup or the tracks and don't have your tracks on an iPod, you're probably out of luck and will need to repurchase your content.
You can try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service and explaining what happened. Reportedly in some cases Apple has allowed redownloading on a one-time basis, but don't count on it.

Hey all, new here, some bootup issues.

I am running Windows 7 with 2 hard drives, one is just an extra one that I use to store pictures on, and one is my main. Neither are SSD. I installed Ubuntu alongside my 7, then later I deleted the partition with Ubuntu on it and want to just use Windows 7 again. I went through with my install disc and repaired my bootloader, and it works, but now it is hanging on 99 for about 3 or 4 minutes before it finally goes on through to A2 where it boots no problem at all. I have not been able to get into the BIOS. How can I circumvent this 99 and get it to boot in about 10 seconds again instead of 10 minutes? Thanks in advance.

That is more or less standard DDR2-800 memory which should not make any problems. In terms of overclocking it, you have to see what can be achieved. Memory OC Results usually vary from system to system.

Help me out with the Faces timeline of operation here - having an issue...

I just upgraded to iLife '09. It's awesome! I recently just started using iPhoto 08, and now i've upgraded to 09. Just for a fresh start, I deleted my iPhoto Library and re-imported all of my photos (there were in separate folders outside of the iPhoto Library) so they would be copied to a new iPhoto Library. I am now strictly using my iPhoto libarary.
After importing all my photos (almost 19,000), a little progress wheel popped up next to the Faces library. I assume it is scanning to recognize all the faces in my pictures, correct? I have not yet added any faces to the face library.
Now, will that little wheel eventually finish and stop? It's been going for hours and hours. It SHOULD automatically detect the faces in my pictures and then I can name them, correct? I read that there is supposed to be a estimated timer somewhere, but I see that nowhere.
This is my second attempt at this. Last night I quite iPhoto and it asked me if I wanted to backup the Metadata. I did but it didn't seem like the progress bar was moving, so I canceled. When I relaunched iPhoto, iPhoto had boxed the faces and I named a few. It seemed like it scanned a few and then quite. It found 216 photos of my sister-in-law, but only about 7 of me (the ones I actually chose - no suggested pictures.
Could someone please let me know how this thing operates?
Is it as follows:
1 - Faces does an initial scan of all your 19,000 pictures to box the faces (you just have to wait for 2 days because it's a large library - suck it up)
2 - The faces in my photos should then have boxes around them awaiting me to name them when I go into the Name function, yes?
3 - After I've named and identified several pictures of each person, it should then give me hundreds of suggested photos for each of those individuals?
Again - the wheel has been spinning for hours, I see nothing that gives me any time estimate. HELP!

For 19,000 photos I would give it a day without bothering it - it took about 18 hours for 27,000 for me

Again it is best to give the initial metadate backup adaquate time - I forget how long mine took but the first time was a while - and it is important when you ahve future problems to have a good initial backup

I'd guess 12 to 14 hours if the computer is not doing anything else, longer the more other thing are going on - it depends on lots of things - number of photos, number of faces, amount of disk, processor speed,, etc

Yes - within reason - iPhoto is good but far from perfect at this - you will miss some and get some very strange false hits

Maybe - typically it will give you some and after you confirm or deny them it will give you more continuing until it gives you no additional recommendations

Analysis Authorization Issue

I created an analysis authorization ZCO_CODE to trstrict it by a company code.
I added following objects in authorization with values.
0COMP_CODE = 1000
0TCAACTVT = 03
0TCAIFAREA = *
0TCAIPROV = *
0TCAVALID = *
Then I created a role Z:00:BW_REPORT, where I added following authorization objects S_RS_AUTH and restricted it by value ZCO_CODE. Then I assigned this role to a user test01.
When I execute a program RSEC_MIGRATION for this specific user, I do not see authorization object ZCO_CODE on 2nd step of this program. Any Idea Why? I think this object should show up as I want to migrate this specific object.
Help will be appreciated.

Okay here is my issue.
I have a Reporting authorization Object created earlier which is ZCOCODE. I though I'll have to create a new Analysis authorization object e.g. ZCO_CODE and then restrict it with other chars. as mentioned in Marc Bernards presentation and then you have to migrate it.
In selection list I can see old Reporting authorization object. If I select it and use option "Enhance existing profile" then It will update profile and not role? right....
How can I see whether it has updated existing profile?????
Do I need to create new Analysis Auth. for Company code or I can use old Reporting authorization for company code?
For testing purpose, I created a test user and assigned all reporting roles but It will not show up in RSEC_MIGRATION step???

Profit Centre Document issue at the time of Post Goods Issue on SD.

Dear Experts,
While SD person is posting Post Goods Issue, System is generating Profit Centre Document along with other documents. We are facing an issue with Profit Centre document here and the issue is:
Some Profit Centre Documents are populating Delivery Order Number on respective field while some are not. Ideally all profit centre line items should show Delivery Order Numbers.
Please guide any solution to resolve this issue, its urgent.

Are you saying that the PCA document has the Delivery Number (VL01N) updated in some cases and not updated in some cases?
The Delivery Number is updated in PCA document when you create Delivery from VL01N and do PGI from VL02N
But, if you do PGI from VL01N itself, then the delivery number is not updated in the PCA document
SAP recommends to post PGI from VL02N

Adobe, please stop running from this issue! (GPU vs CPU anomalies / fades)

Adobe,
I have tried to bring this issue to light many times, and your own users have argued it ad finem, but to no avail! I am TIRED of getting terrible alpha blending (and opacity curve) results with GPU acceleration enabled, vs CPU. In fact, it is SO BAD that I NEVER work with GPU acceleration any more.
Here is the issue:
When GPU acceleration is enabled, you simply CANNOT do a smooth fade and/or cross dissolve. It appears to fade down smoothly to about 20% opacity, and then the next frame it will jump right to 0% quite abruptly and disappear. It's almost as if the fade simply gives up and switches off! Regardless of whether you use Cross Dissolve, or Film Dissolve the results are the same. Also, your alpha blending is all messed up, CLEARLY showing a different result when comparing CPU and GPU rendering outputs. Once again, this issue ONLY exists with GPU acceleration ENABLED. Switch off GPU/MPE and the problems disappear. But of course you lose the speed and other benefits GPU acceleration offers, which would be great to have! Especially seeing as I have also heard (from various other resources) that GPU acceleration can improve the quality of rendering out to compressed formats like H264. But we will never know that, will we? Because, every time I enable GPU, my fades and blending looks noticeably bad!
I have seen in various other threads that your response has been along the lines of: "That's just the way it is". But unless your name is Bruce Hornsby, this response is unacceptable! You cannot advertise a "great feature" of your products (in this case, GPU/MPE), yet when people try to use it and see odd results, simply tell us: "oh by the way, yeah, it does not work in a few scenarios, like fading, but otherwise you are good to go!" The way I see it: cross-fades (even fades in general) as well as opacity/blending are some of the most common, if not THE most common techniques used in video projects! Having an anomaly of this nature showing a DISTINCT difference in quality output when one of your fantastic "features" is enabled is just poor form. What is evern poorer is your responses (or lack thereof) related to the issue. Especially seeing as this problem has been present since CS5, and now we are STILL seeing it in CC!

Now I am using CC, latest version, up-to-date, a fast i7 processor, a CUDA supported card, and all of those go to waste because I have to have GPU and the mercury playback engine disabled to yield decent quality results.
I implore you, not just for myself, but on behalf of everybody here who has already addressed this issue, but has had their pleas fall on deaf ears: PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM. Telling us simply that: "This is the way GPU cards choose to render" is NOT ACCEPTABLE. It's just like me saying when I drive my car on the wrong side of the road: "that's just the way I drive!". Doesn't mean it is acceptable!
You may have won people over since Final Cut Pro screwed the pooch with version X... but I can guarantee if this does not get resolved soon, the issue won't just be isolated to the forums here. Expect to read about it in MANY online publications that I am sure your competitors will ENJOY watching!

CPU only (MPE and GPU DISABLED):
This appears to be what I would consider accurate, as it is not only well blended, but the fades work smoothly thanks to it relying on the CPU...
GPU (MPE and GPU ENABLED - Linear Color ON - as per default):
This provides identical image quality/blending results as the CPU only benchmark. However, the fades are very abrupt, as per the original problem...
GPU (MPE and GPU ENABLED - Linear Color OFF, as per your recommendation):
This is your recommended solution. The fades are as smooth as they are in the CPU version. But as you can see the color, alpha and blending are VASTLY different. Actually, it looks HORRIBLE! The BG text is barely visible, and the foreground text appears to be more prevalent over the top of the back layer, making its fade-up quite disjointed and selective.
...So as you can see, the "solution" you provided seems to create more problems and/or inconsistencies in the overall output. Now we have no idea what is the "standard"!
I personally find these inconsistency's very concerning. And I am sure I'm not the only one. Please tell me there is actually a logic to this "solution" and it wasn't a simple duct-tape fix that nobody there at Adobe actually looked deeper into to see exactly how it would effect overall image quality! It sure appears that way!
I appreciate that you, Kevin, are not directly responsible for this issue, and you are indeed a representative trying to help. But please realize that for many of us here, we are LONG time Premiere users, with years of experience and influence in this industry, and this definitely isn't our first rodeo! When we flag these issues we do so out of a REAL need, which means the consequences Adobe faces as a result of not addressing these issues are equally as REAL! As such; I encourage you to expedite the process of resolving this issue, because it has been prevalent since CS5.5, and the fact that it is not been resolved and/or has been addressed poorly does not bode well for your overall reputation. Especially when you are trying to make Premiere the industry standard. Like I said, I would hate to have to look at alternatives, so give me a solution, because if I decide to move on from using Premiere, I won't be the last. And no, I am not being melodramatic here. If a piece of software cannot seem to get something as simple as fades and blend modes right (or at least CONSISTENT), how can the software be trusted to handle high-end workflows? Food for thought.
