Hiding hierarchy level in Report (Query Designer)

Hallo Experts,
I am working on a hierarchy structure. I use the activate Hierarchy Display in the Query Designer. I try to expand my query till level "2".
But I actually want only the 2 level report and the 1st level should be hidden. Can anyone guide me how this can be done.
Thanks in advance
Santosh

Hello Santosh,
You can have Level 2 as an InfoObject that will be attached to 0MATERIAL as a navigational attribute. Then you can use this in your report and and create a condition on it.
Thanks.

  • Control display level for "display as hierarchy" in BI 7 Query Designer ?

    Hi
I'm using BI 7.0 query designer and I can see there's an additional difference between BI 3.5 and BI 7.0 in rows/columns behavior, in the "display as hierarchy" functionality.
In BW 3.5 one could specify till what level the expand needed to be by default. So it could be 0 for totally collapsed. This is seems not possible anymore in BI 7.0 query designs anymore. Only on natural/technical hierarchies (cost center etc ...) this option is still there.
Is there a way (javascript or other) to have the hierarchies created by "display as hierarchy" also fully collapsed by default ?
    Thanks.
    Geert

    HI, thanks for the reply.
But this is not about the standard InfoObject 'hierarchy" tab, with all it's options on default expand levels etc.
This is about a "pseudo structure" hierarchy which is defined at designtime (in Query Designer) and generated/shown at runtime (so bad for performance, I know). It's based on the real transaction data, not on a pre-created hierarchy as in normal hierarchies. It creates a tree view of otherwise unrelated InfoObjects, displays it in an collapsible/expandable tree shape.
it's a bit hidden in version 7 Query Designer, compared to version 3.5. In 3.5 one had a larger set of options, including the -now lacking- default expand-to level. But in Version 7, most options are dropped. Probably due to the move from the ABAP to the java backend, lots of other stuff got culled in that move as well.
For more info, look at the posts from Larry in this thread : [Display as Hierarchy|Display as Hierarchy]
I know it's an option not used a lot but can be handy in certain cases.
I really would like some help in getting a default query result with the "display as Hierarchy" collapsed.
    Thanks,
    Geert

  • Hierarchy Level in report

    Hi GURUS,
I have a requirement in report i.e. I need to display the Hierarchy level from the 4th level only, I do not want to see the first 3 levels, where do I do the settings for that in reporting.
I was told that there can be some settings done in Hierarchy tab of that info object in report level in Values of Posted Nodes. But even that option is disabled. If this is the way I need to do it then how to enable that option or if there is a different option then would appreciate if you explain me in detail. Thanks in advance.

    Hi ganesh,
for this   same as normal procedure.. but in BEX analyser..  in the query  designer window  properties.. I mean select ur hierarchy and right click and > select Ristrict-> and there you can select particular level of nodes only...
so, there you can select all fourth level nodes..and  drag and drop it into right side window... and save it.. and execute the query..
so, now you can get only Fourth level nodes only in the reporting level...
i think this will helpfull to u..if it's ok ... Reward me points..
    Thanks

  • Hierarchy not visible in Query designer

    Hello Experts.
I am trying to create a query in BW 3.5 but I ran into one issue. I created a hierarchy for an Infoobject. But I am not able see this Hierarchy for the Infoobject in BW 3.5 Query designer although I can see it in BI 7.0 Query designer.
Any help in this regards will be appreciated and points will be assigned.
    Than

Check if you have made the "hierarchy" Active in your BW 3.5 query and also chosen the hierarchy correctly.
    Right click on the characteristic----
    > properties.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to filter hierarchy node in BEX query designer

    Dear experts
We are working on FI balance sheet with hierarchy infoobject 0GLACCEXT. Example of our balance sheet is as follow:
    Parent Node A = 20
         Sub-parent Node A1 = 10
             Leaf A11 = 5
                 Leaf A12 = 5
    Parent Node B = 20
         Sub-parent Node B1 = 10
                   Leaf B11 = 5
                   Leaf B12 = 5
    We require only:
        Sub-parent Node A1 = 10
        Leaf B12 = 5
So I filter those out in BEX restriction;  however, after we examine the report in tcode RSRT, "Sub-parent Node A1" is not shown in BEX Report, and the result is as follow:
    Parent Node B = 5
         Sub-parent Node B1 = 5
                 Leaf B12 = 5
Are there solutions for us to show merely A1 and B12 ?

    Hi Chu
    Try the following steps.
    Initial Output
In this example I will restrict the query for only displaying Node 8603 and leaf 9000
Proceed to restrict the Characteristic. Please be aware of the difference between hierarchy nodes and leaf characteristic values. Also set the Hierarchy display properties to expand up to level 1.
    Execute the query again:
Please be aware that users will still be able to expand node 8603 and see the lower level nodes/leaf. In order to restrict users from doing this set up users authorizations.

  • Crystal Report Query design

    Hello,
I am very new to Crystal Reports and for some reason the online content for CR is abysmally low and not lucid enough in most cases.
I am designing a simple Invoice type report in CR and am using an Access database with .accdb extension.I have been able to connect the database to my CR environment but now I am not able to design a suitable Query in CR which can enable me to display the
    Invoice.
I have two tables in my database-InvoiceTran and InvoiceDetail. The InvoiceTran table has a primary key under which the details are saved in the InvoiceDetail table.
What I want to be able to do in CR is to select an Invoice Number in the InvoiceTran table and then print only the related details from the InvoiceDetail table(in the Detail section of CR) along with some other fields from the InvoiceTran table.I will also
need a SUM field in the Invoice Footer.
It was very easy in Access reports in which a suitably designed query did the trick but for now I had to abandon it due to a designing problem that I ran into.
    Thanks in advance,
    Khalid.

You're not finding online content here because CR is (as of VS 2010) no longer part of Visual Studio as delivered. It is a separate add-on.

  • Setting in Query Designer to close all the levels in hierarchy

    Hi,
I got a  hierarchy with upto 8 Levels.
In Query Designer i had a Selection Restrictions on hierarchy,I selected few nodes (each will have upto 7 level).
When i execute the report the first node is expanding upto the Level 7 and other nodes are stay close...
I checked and tried all the setting Expand to level 0....etc
    Its not working.
    How can i achive
When the user executes the report...data will be dispayed and all the restricted nodes will be displayed as closed...and option to the user to expand.
    Thanks

    Hi SDBI,
    Thanks for the Update...
Go to RSH1 transaction. Go to your Hierarchy. Choose your hierarchy in change mode press Hierarchy attributes buttion. Enter 00 as drilldown start level in the new dialog appearing when your press Hierarchy attributes button.
It worked..but not for 00....it worked for '01'.
Could you please explain me in bit detail what is the functionality of that setting...
    Thanks in advance

  • In query designer, an hierarchy(structure)  duplicating lines in level 2.

Here we are at version 7.0 - SP 10, I have created a structure hierarchy in BEX, and when I execute this query the result is ok ... until I tried to closed or open the second level.
At first, it doesn't close, and the worst if I tried to open  it's
duplicating the lines of the second level.
In query designer, creating an hierarchy(structure) something like this:
    > total division 1
    ...> division 1.1
    ...> division 1.2
    > total division 2
    ...> division 2.1
    ...> division 2.2
and after the execution, if I tried to close or open the level of division 2 the result will duplicates the lines division 2.1 and division  2.2. the result is like this:
    > total division 1
    ...> division 1.1
    ...> division 1.2
    > total division 2
    ...> division 2.1
    ...> division 2.2
    <b>...> division 2.1
    ...> division 2.2</b>
The stange is in excel it works normaly.

    Hi,
An Heirarchy is always an addition of the below nodes. hence. WBS 1 = WBS 1.1 + WBS 1.2. since youre looking at durations. it will add up 7+9 instead of looking at earliest start and latest end dates.
dont know if itll work but a suggestion would be to get the start date and end date for WBS 1 and then do the calculation for duration in a formula in query designer.

  • Hierarchy Level value displayed in BEx Query

Is there a way to display the Hierarchy Level value (0, 1, 2, etc...) associated with each hierarchy level in BEx Query as a characteristic?
we are currently using the Crystal Reports function HierarchyLevel(GroupingLevel(GL Account Node id)) to display the level of the node (0, 1, 2, etc...).  Is there something similar to this in BEx Query.
We would like to use this Level value to do groupings in Crystal Reports.  When we try to create a Group, we can only create the groups on fields that are brought over in the BEx Query results.
    Thanks --

    Hi ,
Hierarchy level can be defined in Bex query as well.
In the query property there is option where you can say hierarchy active for that particular object.
Also you can define level upto which it can be active in initial display say 3 level
Also when you want to drill down further level 4,5 you can right click and select that particular level say 4 or 5 or 6.
If you want to display hierarchy flat there is no option in BW then to right code, but I heard in crystal report it will automatically display in fl;at version as well  means
    Level 0 level 1   ......KF1 KF2  etc.
    Thanks and regards

  • Hierarchy node not available in Query Designer

    Hello Gurus,
I can find the hierarchy node variable in BW but it is not available in query designer. Does anyone know what might be the problem and a solution?
    Thanks,
    Mark

    Hi Mark,
You said you "find the hierarchy node variable in BW but it is not available in query designer".
How did you find the hierarchy node variable in BW? From backend SAPGUI, you will only be able to see the variable in some internal tables like RSZGLOBV. Did you mean this?
For "it is not available in query designer", do you means that when you want to create a hierarchy node variable for this characteristic in Query Designer, you don't find this certain hierarchy node variable in the hierarchy node variable list?
Important thing to notice is that, flat value variables and hierarchy node variables are listed separately. Did you make sure that you have chose to list hierarchy node variables in Query Designer?

  • HIERARCHIES ON QUERY DESIGNER

    Hi Guys!
I have a 0ITEM hierarchy with 8 levels, i need to display only from level 4 to level 8 on query designer 7.1, can somebody help me with this?
    Thanx and Regards

I am not sure if you can do that - level 4 would mean that you expand till level 4 which is essentially 1-4 and if you want level 8 then it is essentially level 1-8.
You might want to think of changing the hierarchy structure and maybe merging the first 4 levels of your hierarchy - store this as a separate hierarchy and then use that in your query.

  • Drill down ( Collapsible Row ) Report in BEx query designer ?

    Dear Friends!
I am supoosed to create a report drill down report for Purchasing History to be precise,  I know that we can have drill down feature using heirarchy but is it possible for Us to have PO & PO item heirarachy ? or any other way to do drill down reporting in SAP BEx Query designer ?
like my current report is : -
    | Vendor | Purchasing Organisation | Purchasing Group | Plant | PO Number | Item | Material / Service | Description | .... ( keyfigures) |
Now I am supposed to create a report  in which
    normal view
    | Vendor | Purchasing Organisation | Purchasing Group | Plant | |> PO Number| .... ( keyfigures) | Payment |
drill down or collapsible view ( please consider the heading as data I am not talking about dynamically change of  headings ).
    | Vendor | Purchasing Organisation | Purchasing Group | Plant | V PO Number | Item | Material / Service | Description | .... ( keyfigures) |
is there anyway to design the report in above mention manner ? you any input will be appreciated greatly.
    Thank you so much!
    Regards
    Naim

    Hi Naim,
usually we don't do the transactional data as hierarchy.  not sure the reason behind your requirement.
we can do one of the below :-
    1. To have the default view as
    | Vendor | Purchasing Organisation | Purchasing Group | Plant | | PO Number| .( keyfigures) | Payment |
and then user can drill down on rest of the characteristics for detailed view later on.
    2. or if they don't want to drill down on characteristics;-
we can build 2 reports , one for header level information and then jump to second query for detailed information(item level) using RRI.
    first query:
    | Vendor | Purchasing Organisation | Purchasing Group | Plant | | PO Number| .( keyfigures) | Payment |
    second query:
    | Vendor | Purchasing Organisation | Purchasing Group | Plant |  PO Number | Item | Material / Service | Description | .... ( keyfigures) |
Let us know if this works out?
    Regards,
    Sakthi.

  • How to hide a single value node hierarchy in the query designer

    Hi,
I would like to perform a calculation  in the infocube. It concern  a count "Nb of different customers" with the following hierarchy : Country / region / City.
This KF would be read at the same time by city, region and country, and  certain customers exist in 2 different region, and I have to count them only once by country.
To do this, I added a new record (at the country level when loading infocube) to deduct a number of customers in doubloons.
This line added contain only a country code and the number of cutomers in doubloons (- 23 when I have 23 cutomers in doublons) with revrese sign.
Now, I would like to use this value (-23) to have a right Nb of different customers by country, without showing the not assigned line in the report hierarchy.
How can I hide, in the query designer or the WAD, a single value node from hierarchy (NOT assigned) but take in account the value (-23) at the country level ?
Is there another solution (more simple) to perform this in the infocube ?
    For information,
    1) The infocube is loaded once per month, and the KF (Nb of different customers" is also performed by month.
    2) I can't perform this in the report (performance problem with calculated KF).
    thx.

    Hi,
the short answer is "you can't", the longer is: The ADF Faces tree component is stamped for better performance. This stamping means that nodes are not rendered as JSF objects but copies of an existing component (just with a changed value). For this reason the nodes don't issue their own query for data and thus cannot be refreshed individually
