How is the MySite Manager value configured?

Hi - I havn't setup a mysite personal site in sp2013 yet but I need to find out - is the Manager value (used by the My Site Clean up timer job) still based on the AD property as it was in SP2010? Or is it prompted for during personal site creation?

The manager user profile property is still synchronized from AD via user profile sync just like it was in SP2010.

    There is an option to pass all the paramters except those who changes from
    system to system.
    for example,
    if you are reading from a file from the directory: <SYS>\CREMAS_<TS>.XML
    when <SYS> is DEV or QAS or PROD, and <TS> is time stamp,
    you can create channel template that read file with file pattern CREMAS_*.XML,
    this can save you a lot of work, however, parameters that are diffrent in every system, (in this case the directory DEV,QAS,PROD) you must enter manually in every system.

    I am new to J2EE and do not seem to grasp how the security manager (or J2EESecurityManager) works with EJB.
    My bean does security-senisitive stuff (like getting the Policy object) and must not do so unless I give it permission in the policy file. So far so good. But the permission will only work if I grant it to ALL code, like:
    grant {
    permission java.security.SecurityPermission "getPolicy";
    Beans do not seem to have a protection domain or code source/certificates attached to it. so I cannot say
    grant "/file/sw/ejb/myejb.jar" {
    permission java.security.SecurityPermission "getPolicy";
    Why is that (probably because beans run remote)? But more importantly, how DO I set permissions based on which bean it is?

    If I add that directory as the codebase to
    a grant statement any class loaded from there will
    have the specified permission.I thought so, too, and that is why I went digging for the code source of my bean (i.e. where is it deployed, from where is it loaded) but that source is NULL:

    The code seems to have no code source (null) and no signatures (in fact, I also signed my code with the keytool but that certificate did not show here either).

    Would it be possible for someone to describe in detail the algorithm used by the libpassthrough.so to generate the 4-character JROUTE cookie value when load balancing across SJS AS 8.1 EE UR2 instances? Is it a hash or some other encoding on the instance name specified in the loadbalancer.xml config file?
    We are using a cluster of many web servers against a cluster of 9 appserver instances in a single logical appserver cluster without session persistence, and would like to be able to quickly identify to which appserver instance a given jsession ID and JROUTE combo maps to aid troubleshooting / debugging efforts.
    We're using SJSWS 6.1SP4 with the libpassthrough.so distributed with JES appserver patch 119166-12. And, as you can deduce from the patch, we're using SJSAS 8.1 EE UR 2, patched to 8.1_02 (build b14-p05).

  • The FTP protocol: How does the AE manage inbound packets?

    I've noticed the following with resect to how the AE handles NAT port forwarding for the FTP protocol.
    1. Forwarding for FTP service seems to only work if the WAN port is 21, e.g. map 21 -> 21 works, 2121 -> 21, does not work (packets seem to be dropped at the AE). However, such a restriction hold with other services such like ssh or openvpn.
    2. When ftp packets are received by the LAN server, they have the IP of the client stripped and arrive at the server with the WAN IP assigned to the AE, as indicated by the logs. Again, other services that we are forwarding to the server arrive with the correct client IP. So this is only an FTP thing.
    The AE seems to do some analysis of incoming packets and treat them differently. One question:
    Why does the Airport Extreme do this, and apparently only for FTP packets?

    I found a workaround by changing the port my FTP server listens to from 21 to 2121. I then set the AE to forward port 21 on the WAN side to 2121 on the LAN side. This allows the server to know what IP the client is connecting from.
    I'm still curious why the AE strips the client's IP when you forward to port 21 on the LAN side.

  • How are the "Key" string values encoded in PerformancePoint services Database ParameterValues table

    As you know, performancepoint stores user selections for Filters in "ParameterValues" table in PerformancePoint Service database.
    I noticed that UserValues/Key is encoded. Does anyone know what encoding scheme is used ? For example, I see below text in SerializedXml column for one of the records.

    You'll probably find they are being passed with commas between the values. The system will only see the first value. You would need to get clever and concatenate values into a single string then get the function to break it apart in a loop.

    I am new to the whole video thing.  I bought a new hard disc camera that came with the software to download to its own library (Power Cinema for Everio)
    If I want to transfer my videos and photos to Adobe is it all stored online? I know they give you 2 gigs free but does it still store on your hard drive a second time if I transfer from the Everio files to Adobe?   I wanted to delete the Everio software if Im going to use Adobe as my video and photo storage. Im afraid if I delete the whole Everio file after its transferred to Adobe, it wont be on my hard drive it will only be partially on the web storage since they only give you 2 gigs free.  My videos right now are at 13 gigs so it will eventually cut off tonight (uploading now) I couldnt see anything on Adobe that stored my videos, just the web storage.  Any advice appreciated.  Happy New Year all... couldnt be worse, hope for better

    I am not sure about your previous application. But PSE or PRE both needs your media on Hard-Drive for import. And when you import it does not mean PSE/PRE is keeping a copy of file apart from the copy on your hard-drive. They just keep references...
    Now what about 2GB free space on www.photoshop.com?
    If you want to keep your files online, you need to mark Sync on by selecting appropriate preferences.

  • Set List Manager Values

    I use a List Manager (based on Popup LOV) in a form. On submit, I insert the list manager values by creating a array using the wwv_flow_utilities.string_to_table function and inserting the values one by one in a loop.
    I would need to be able to set the list manager values (not the Poplist values) with the query result values. Does someone can help me with that ?

  • Does the "The Project Owner has the same RBS value as the User" dynamic category rule include Status Managers?

    I tested the following scenario in Project Server 2010 and 2013:
    Assume you have three users: User1, User2, and User3.
    User1 has RBS value Org.UnitA
    User2 and User3 both have RBS value Org.UnitB
    User3 belongs to a group that gets permissions to view projects from a category with "The Project Owner has the same RBS value as the User" setting enabled.
    User2 creates ProjectABC and by default becomes the project Owner. User2 creates a task in the project, and by default becomes the Status Manager of the task.
    User2 then changes the project owner to User1 and republishes the project. User2 remains the Status Manager in the project task.
    User3 can still see ProjectABC. Apparently this is because User2, who has the same RBS value as User3, is still a Status Manager of project tasks.
    If I change User2 RBS value to Org.UnitA, then User3 can no longer see ProjectABC. Note that User2 is not the project Owner at this stage, but the change in User2's RBS still affects the visibility of the project.
    It seems to me that in "The Project Owner has the same RBS value as the User" dynamic category rule, the "Owner" should be "Owner or Status Manager".
    Is this a bug or by design?

    Thanks for going through the trouble of reproducing the behaviour. It's interesting to know that Effective Rights in Project Online displays different results.
    The system in which I tested this scenario is updated with the December CU, so I'm guessing you'll still get the same result after updating your environment.
    In my usage scenario, a user needs to create projects on behalf of other users, and then change the Owner. Unfortunately this doesn't change the Status Manager of tasks, and consequently the visibility of the project is not what was expected.
    The user who creates the project can change the Owner, but can't change the Status Manager. The new owner would have to open the project for editing in Project Pro, change the Status Manager value of every task, and republish. Precisely the sort of extra
    work that the users want to avoid.
    Using delegation might be a workaround, but opens up a whole new can of worms in terms of information security. It's unfortunate that the "The Project Owner has the same RBS value as the User" setting doesn't do what it says, but potentially
    opens up visibility of projects to a wider audience than intended.

    after installing SolMan 7.1 SP10 successfully I also completed the steps "System Preparation" and "Basic Configuration".
    Now I'm connecting the managed ABAP systems to the Solution Manager by performing step "Managed Systems Configuration".
    After several other ABAP systems I'm now connecting our productive CRM 7.0 EHP1 system "CM3" (SAP_BASIS 702).
    I also connected the CRM development and CRM quality assurance system without a problem.
    For client 000 everything worked fine, the RFC destinations were created and a green light is shown.
    Now the problem is to connect the productive client 100:

    thanks for your quick response.
    The ST-A/PI software component is the same on all systems: 01Q_700 #2.
    SolMan system: SM3
    CRM systems: CM0 (ok), CM1 (ok), CM3 (problem with client 100, client 000 OK).
    I also tried the recommendation found in the SAP Community Network
    (http://scn.sap.com/thread/3483642) but this didn't help either:
    1.Delete system from LMDB.
    2.Delete system from SLD of solman.
    3.Re- register the system to SLD of solman(rz70 for AS ABAP)
    [the LMDB synchronizes with the SLD every 10 minutes, system CM3 is visible again in the LMDB]
    4.Now follow the steps in managed system configuration.
    The wizard worked fine for client 000 but throws this error for client 100.
    I use all the latest installation and configuration guides.
    For this step I'm using the guide "Managed System Configuration" that is available in the SOLMAN_SETUP wiki.

    Demand Management does not need any extra configuration unless u want to make any changes to the standard configuration. You have to choose the right strategy to be used for your process and apply the same to the material in the MRP3 view of the material master.
    Availability check also has to be selected according to the requirement.

  • Transport Management System Configuration

    Hi,
    I have a question here, on Transport Management System.
    We have new 64 bit boxes. I first migrated our dev SCM 4.0 box from 32 bit to 64 bit, it asked for being a Domain Controller. Configured it as a Domain Controller, and continued with the upgrade and completed the upgrade.
    Now, I am going to the second box (QAS). I have performed the migration from 32 bit to 64 bit. Now, when I login to this box, in my understanding, TMS should offer to make this system part of the already existing domain right? It doesn't happen that way. It is forming itself again as a domain controller. After some changes and update configurations on both the boxes, the QAS box now says, "Waiting to be added into the domain by the domain controller" something similar to this. But, when I go and login to the domain controller (DEV), it doesn't show anything there.
    In the QAS system when I go to the System Overview, I see both the systems but, they both show under the two different transport groups. I am totally confused here. Am I doing something wrong here? The only problem I see here is, the domain controller (DEV) is on SCM 5.0 as it is already upgraded from SCM 4.0 but the QAS is still in SCM 4.0 and waiting to be upgraded. Do you think this could be a potential problem? If so, what is the solution to continue with the upgrade because, I am sure the upgrade won't work without the Transport Management System configured properly.

    There are couple of things to be considered before following your suggestion.
    1. Our QAS box is in Kernel 6.40 (32 bit) and my DEV (upgraded) is in Kernel 7.00 (64 bit). In this kind of heterogeneous environment, I am sure the R3trans versions should be different. Is it possible to configure the transport management using the shared transport directory (Transport Group)?
    2. Now, when I login to the QAS box, as I said in my previous message, I see two entries. One it should the APD (Domain Controller) with a different transport group. And I see the APQ in a different transport group. The problem here is, I cannot edit or delete any of the entries in the APQ - STMS because, it keeps saying all changes could be made only in the domain controller. A point to be noted here is, even though it shows two different transport group, it points to the same transport domain 'DOMAIN_APD'. Another thing to be noted here is when I look at the domain controller (APD), I don't see an entry for APQ or any awaiting approval requests.
    Kindly suggest what needs to be done here.

    I'm creating a BPC10 NW version demo environment for our prospect customer.
    I made a data manager to import  BW data into BPC model from BW cube.
    I need to import just one month data into BPC from the BW cube that has more than one month data.
    When I run the data package manually, I can select a member of the time dimension prompt and I can import specific month data I want.
    But, in a case where the program (data manager) runs by JOB monthly,
    I can't select a member of the time dimension prompt manually.
    So I want to know how to set a  variable value to the time dimension prompt from a system date etc. automatically.
    Are there any way to set a variable value to the time dimension prompt on the data manager automatically from a system date?
    Or, do you have any other solution to import just one month data into BPC from the BW cube that has more than one month data  by the data manager running on JOB ?
    (without selecting a member of the time dimension prompt of the data package manually)
