this jam occures from casette no 4.
the jamed paper located in the paper path between no 2 and no3 cassette.
how do i fix this ?

If the printer has been stored for six years without use, it is perhaps likely that something has seized, or is stuck, leading to the error message.

HP Color Laserjet 4700 and HP Designjet 5000PS

I've been working for 4 days trying to get these 2 printers to work in Snow Leopard to no avail.
I've Reset, Reinstalled several times. The 4700 will never install and Designjet installs, but will never communicate and print.
I also have a HP Laserjet 4200 that works absolutely fine. Go Figure.
I've been in contact with Apple and have done everything the Apple tech has said but am now awaiting further communications from him as they are working on it.
All the printers work fine off of a Leopard Computer that is sharing the printer under Appletalk.
(Is bonjour just a new name for appletalk????)
If I ever get it fixed I'll post an update.

Finally got everything working, and it took for ever trying to reconfigure the IP address on the Designjet 5000.
Here's how to do it:
Conﬁguring TCPIIP on the HP Designjet 5000, 5500, 800, and 500
series printers
NOTE: A delay of approximately 30 seconds may be expected between each step.
1. From the Front Panel, use the arrow buttons to highlight the printer icon and press ENTER.
2. Press the Up arrow key until llO Setup appears. Press ENTER,
3. Press the Down arrow to Card Setup and press ENTER. Highlight Conﬁguration,
ENTER,
4. From the Front Panel message of Cfg Network=No, press ENTER.
5. Press the Up arrow key to change to Yes. Press ENTER,
6. Press the Up arrow key until Cfg TCP/IP=No appears, Press ENTER.
7. Press the Up arrow key to change to Yes. Press ENTER.
8. Press the Up arrow until BOOTP=Yes appears. Press ENTER.
9. Press the Up arrow key to change to No. Press ENTER.
and press
NOTE: If BOOTP=Yes, the printer is conﬁgured to retrieve its TCP/IP parameters
overthe network from a BOOTP, RARP, or DHCP server. If BOOTP=NO, the
printer is conﬁgured to accept TCP/IP parameters from the Front Panel.
10. On HP Jetdirect print servers with ﬁrmware L.20.04 or greater, press the Up arrow
DHCP=yes appears. Press ENTER.
11. Press the Up arrow key to change to No. Press ENTER.
12. Press the Up arrow key until IP Byte1=xxx appears.
13. To change the IP byte, proceed as follows:
a. Press ENTER.
b. Press the Up or Down arrow key to change the number.
c. Press ENTER.

14. Conﬁgure the remaining bytes ofthe IP address in the same manner.
15. Conﬁgure the subnet mask bytes (SM), syslog server IP address (LG), default gateway (GW),

NOTE: When the HP Jetdirect print server is given a syslog server IP address, it can
generate syslog messages and send them to that. If no syslog sewer is on the
network, skip this setting,
16. The TIMEOUT parameter default is 90 seconds. Up to 3,600 seconds can be conhgured. lf set
to the timeout feature of the HP Jetdirect print server is disabled —- TCP/IP connections
will remain open until closed by the sewer.
17. To save this information:
a.Designjet 5000: Press the BACK button three times, then press the TOP button to
save the conﬁguration,
b.Designjet 500 and 800: Press the BACK button four times and wait until the Ready
message is displayed,
c.Turn the printer off, then turn it on to refresh the new settings.

HP color laserjet 4700 using gold border certificates

I have a customer that has been using heavier stock letter size certificates with real gold border and without issue but is now experiencing print quality issues. I will likely post a sample when I can scan it in but here is the gist of it. It has no problems when printing black only. When printing with any color it seems to attract ink to the gold border which ends up on the transfer belt and on the printed side of the page. It is mostly yellow but sometimes has magenta and cyan, never black. I tried adjusting all the print quality settings in the optimize group and all the paper type settings. I have not tried a transfer belt yet or any other hardware but am curious if anyone has any ideas or has seen this before.

I don't suppose they have switched to non-HP toner?
We have someone in our office that switched to Office Team carts 'to save money' and then claimed the printer was broken because there were huge colour smears all both sides of the paper.
Strangely, when I dropped in a set of HP toner carts from a similar printer, the marks disappeared within six or seven sheets.

HP Color Laserjet 4700 h

My printer has 4 toner cartridges. When one of them goes out the printer will not let me print, even if I want to print using only the black cartridge. Can you please tell me if it is possible to print from only the black cartridge when, for example, the yellow toner is out? I just need to do some quick printing in the meantime while I wait for the yellow toner cartridge to be delivered. Thanks!

HP Color LaserJet CP1518ni toolbox error

HP Color LaserJet CP1518ni, when I try to open the toolbox, I get an error message, "HP ToolboxFX has encountered an error and can not recover. Please restart HP Toolbox FX, or restart you PC." I have restarted my PC and it hasn't changed the situation. I don't know how to restart the toolbox as it suggests. How is this done?

I was trying to print a page of tickets (6) containing graphics, but my hp color laserjet 2550ln printer printed a page with the following message:

Found this on the discussion posted 06-03-2010 01:55 PM It worked for me.
I just went through this fix yesterday. I can't remember where I found it on hp.com, though. Here it is:
Turn printer on.
On your printer, press the Menu button
Press 2 (on the fax dial pad)
Press the right arrow (next to Enter button) until you arrive at "High Speed USB.
Press Enter
Press right arrow to select "Off."
Press Enter.
Press Enter again.
Printer will then reboot. I used to get this error occasionally with Windows XP. I wish I would have taken the time to fix this a long time ago!

I had a paper jam in my HP Color LaserJet 2840 printer. I removed the broken paper. Then it hapenned again.
Removed the broken paper for the second time and now the error about the paper draw stays in the display.
Also when I restart the computer os turn off the printer. I also looked in the inside of the printer but I can't see anything.

Why does IE 9 say internal error and cannot print to Color Laserjet 2600n?

IE 9 displays message "Internal error, cannot print page" when I try to print to a networked Color Laserjet 2600n. Printing works well on my other networked HP printer.

The windows 8 driver for this printer should be available in late January. Please bookmark this site and visit it for up to date information. Also located on this site are links to documents for the network workaround and the in-os document.

As a test, I did install this using the windows 7 drivers, it printed fine but I received a pop up giving me an error printing but it still printed. I then used the network work around to shut the bi-di off and the pop up went away, again it printed fine. I would suggest if you use the windows 7 drivers, that you upgrade to the windows 8 drivers when they are available.

Color Laserjet 4550 49.4c02 error

I am getting a 40.4c02 error on my color laserjet 4550 printer. HP do not seem to support this printer nay longer so I cannot do a firmware upgrade.
Is the printer finished or does anyone have any suggestions on how to solve this problem.
