HP Photosmart 7510 series printer (Printer not found)

My HP Photosmart 7510 printer was operating normal.  Then when I tried to scan to the computer I got the following "The HP Photosmart series was not found."  Then I received the following "The device you are trying to access has generated an error; Please ensure that the device has been properly confiqured."  All of the other functions of my printer are working normally.  It prints from the computer, it FAXs correctly (both transmitting and receiving) and copies.  I have not made a changes to the system.  What must I do to get the scanning function back?

I saw your post about the scanning issue you are facing with your Photosmart 7510 and would like to try and help out! I thank you for letting me know you can copy and print!
Could you please respond with which OS you are running and I will research this for you.
In the meantime, please try a power reset and ensure the printer is plugged in directly to the wall outlet, avoiding power bars and surge protectors. This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help greatly. If you are connected wireless on ethernet, also unplug your router for a minute before starting up the printer and computer.
Press the Power button to turn on the product.
With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.

    When it askes for DNS information, enter in Google's DNS. Preferred DNS = 8.8.8.8 Alt DNS = 8.8.4.4
    If that does not help, if you could provide me with the following information it would help me out. First, who is your ISP( Internet Service Provider, i.e. Comcast, AT&T, Verizon, ect.)? Second, who is the maker of your router? Lastly, what is the model number and firmware version of your router?

  • Exporting pdf "acrobat distiller printer description not found" ERROR!

    I just upgraded my g4 to tiger and I am running quark 5 on it. I can no longer export pdfs. I get an error saying "acrobat distiller printer description not found." I am stumped and I NEED to get this working!!
    Anybody who knows how to fix this please let me know!

    You may need to re-install Adobe Acrobat Pro, assuming you need the functionality of Acrobat to create PDFs. To create simple PDF's there is a PDF menu on every print dialog box that does not require the Distiller printer description file.

  • Printer is not found

    After a power outage that caused an interuption in our internet service, we are no longer able to print from our wireless printer. I have tried the many troubleshooting suggestions, checked "working offline," unistalled/installed printer, shut off/on printer and router, etc.  As I try to install printer again, it says printer is not found, even when I try using a USB connection. The blue wireless light is shinging on my printer, my router is working, and I have not moved it (thinking it may be out of reach). Any suggestions?

Uninstalling the Printer Software.Disable any Antivirus programs. Disable Antivirus software.Disable any firewall programs. Windows Firewall from start to finish.Create a new user account.   • HP Photosmart B110 series wont print over wifi after OSX 10.8 upgrade

    My HP Photosmart B110 series worked fine with OSX ML, after move to 10.8 - nothing.  Software update installed an HP update, found the printer which it marked IDLE, then when you testprint/print, is says........Printer can't be found!?!  Have removed the printer in sys pref........then added new printer......no problem, shows available, idle.  When you try and print nada.  Works using the USB cable.
    Any ideas?  Thanks.

    Hi,
    Try rebooting your router by unplugging its power for 30 seconds.
    Once the router is up make sure to reboot the printer as well.
    If you still cannot print after those steps you may try resetting the printing system:
    *Be aware that resetting the printer system will remove any existing print queue and reset any customized driver settings.
    Click the Apple menu, and then click System Preferences .
    Select Print & Scan.
    Right-click (or Ctrl + click) your product in the Printers list in the left panel, and then click Reset printing system .
    Click OK to confirm the reset.
    Type your user Name and Password .
    Click OK . The printing system resets.
    Now click the Plus sign, select the printer and try printing again.
    As the issue only appear over the network please let me know your router brand and model if the issue persists after completing the steps above.

    I see that your HP Photosmart 7510 is not printing yellow, and I am happy to help you with this printing issue!
    For further assistance, I will need to know:
    If you are using a Windows or Mac Operating System, and the version number. To find the exact version, visit this link. Whatsmyos.
    If the printer is connected, Wireless, or USB.
    If the printer is able to make copies by itself.
    If the power cable plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.
    In the meantime, please go through this print quality guide. Printer Does Not Print Black Ink or Color Ink, or Prints Blank Pages, and let me know what happens.

  • HP Photosmart C6200 Series Blue Inks Not Working

    Hi all,
    I have an HP Photosmart c6200 series printer and the blue ink cartridges are not working. I've read similar problems about black ink cartridges, but on different printers so I am looking for some help here.
    All of my ink cartridges recently expired, so I went to a professional store and had them emptied and refilled. I put all of the ink cartridges back in the printer and did a test - I noticed the blue inks were not working. From there, I have tried removing them/reinserting them, looking for visible chunks and running printhead cleans from the printer. So far nothing is working.
    I've printed out a diagnostics page and the boxes that should have the blue inks show up completely empty, not just streaky. I have followed all instructions from the diagnostics page.
    If anyone has any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated. I do not think my printer is under warranty anymore.

    I understand you have a Photosmart C6200 printer that is not printing any blue after refilling the cartridges. I'm sorry to hear this, but I will do my best to help.
    It sounds to me like the refilled ink may not be able to make it out of the cartridge. I will suggest that you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet and follow this Missing, Faded, or Dull Colors document. If it's still not working after that, you can also try cleaning the cartridge contacts.
    If the blue continues not to print, you may have to purchase another HP cartridge.

  • HP Pavilion dv6500 Entertainment Notebook PC series Operating system not found

    Hello to all how are you doing guys doing today I'm having a problem and need the help from the tech world. So i have a Hp Pavilion dv6500 cto notebook. I started it up and got a black screen stating "Operating System Not Found". I couldnt get into safe mode to recover back to a safe point, i was able to get into the bios system to do a memory and Hard drive test, my memory test came back as a Pass but my Hard drive came back as a fail and stated "Replace Hard Drive".
    Now i went out bought a new WD 500GB 5400rpm hard drive for the laptop, i installed it and did a Hard Drive test to make sure it was good and the test came back as a Pass.  Now i had this laptop for years since 2007 and it broke just a few months ago, i just got the new hard drive yestarday and was playing doctor last night. When i got the laptop as a gift i was only given a recovery disk which did boot up and gave me the install now option and repair computer option. I chose the install now option and it was starting to install but then got this error message "Windows cannot open the required file D:\Sources\Install.wim. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070002." I read that you cant install windows from a recovery disk so now im back to square one. 
    So current status is I got a new hard drive that pass the bios test, memory test was a pass. I have no windows disk other then the windows vista recovery disk i tried but failed to install windows. I also tried a windows 7 disk from work but the disk wouldnt boot up came back with a message stating that disk couldnt be read there may be problem with the cd dvd drive or hard drive, but when i put in the windows vista recovery disk that boot up no problem. i just cant install window with it. So Im stuck with a black screen stating no operating system is not found. Note that i havent change the boot up line up back to hard drive to see if it would boot up the new hard drive but i dought it would change anything since its a brand new hard drive with nothing on it.
    If someone could help me with step by step like how to get an operating system on my new hard drive. My wife has a laptop but with no cd drive so i would need instruction to boot get it on the usb. Hope i was helpful with my problem.

    You have only tried questionable disks. You could order a recovery disk from HP but I am not even sure they still have Vista recovery disks. You could also buy a Windows 7 OEM disk and try that. it will cost you a bit but will be legal. What version of Vista is it? You can also try to find a Vista install disk and use the Key Code on the bottom of the laptop if it is still legible.   • HP Photosmart 7510 - I can print but not scan

    Hello,
    I bought my HP Photosmart a few months ago. It worked fine, and I could print wirelessly from my desktop to the printer, and I could scan from the printer to the desktop computer. In fact, last week I was able to scan.
    Today, I wanted to scan something, and I could choose my computer in the list, but got the message that I needed to connect my computer to the printer. I checked what might be wrong, but everything looked okay. I downloaded the scan doctor, and received the message that DeviceSetup.exe could not be found. Which is odd, because when I look in the map, the file is there. I then rebooted the printer, which didn't work. Then I tried to reinstall the drivers on the hp website for my printer, but again got the message that DeviceSetup.exe could not be found.
    Next, I removed the printer completely from the computer, reinstalled, and still had the same issue. Except this time in the list to scan to a computer, my desktop is no longer there and I get the message that "on windows, scan to computer will automatically be activated" (I'm translating from Dutch, so in English it could be slightly differently worded). 
    I retried the scan doctor, and this time I received the message that DeviceSetupLauncher.exe couldn't be found. Again, this is in the directory where it should be. I can see it in the map, but when I click on it, I again get the same notice!
    Needless to say, I'm at a loss as to what I could do to fix it. The file I need is right there, but my computer acts like it's not. I'm a student and really need my printer. So I'd be very grateful for any advice on how to fix this problem!

  • HP Photosmart 7510 Series Printer Problem

    For several weeks I have had issues of my black ink not printing.  This has been very frustrating and costly as I spent over a hundred dollars on new ink cartridges (combo package).  After reinstalling the cartridges  several times with no success at printing and numerous attempts to clean the injectors, thinking they might be clogged, still the black ink would not print.  I read on this blog that others had similar problems and after several days of letting it sit idle they tried again and had success. I tried everyday for a few days and got tired of it failing to print and wasting the colored ink.  Now after several weeks I tried again and IT PRINTED as it should!!! Yea, but why did this occur?  What caused it to start printing again?  I thought I was going to need to buy a new print head but then I saw how costly print heads are I figured I might as well give up and go buy a new printer (I would not have bought another HP if I had done that)  Anyways, I am happy that today after several weeks I tried printing again and it worked, but I want to know why does it now work?  What caused it not to print in black for all those weeks?

    There are a few possibilities:  if the vents are clogged the ink would starve, but may recover after some time.  If the printhead was left uncapped (due to shutting off the power to the printer from an external switch for example) the printhead could clog.  It could recover after sitting in the high humidity capping station for some time.
    If the issue arises again you might go through the troubleshooting steps in the document here.   If the above does not resolve the problem the post here may help.

  • Finger Print Device not found using Think Advantage Finger Print Software

    3000 N100, the finger print device can not be found when trying to set up profiles.  The computer had been restored to new state using the function key at startup.
    I deleted programs I did not want after that but the Think Advantage was left as is, I believe.  I can get as far as trying to create finger print profiles, then I get the finger print device can not be found.

  • My printer is not found on my extreme anymore....

    In a nutshell.......I have recently changed the setting on my extreme due to getting a new computer (I have other questions posted about this too) and along the way lost the ability to print wirelessly. Me and my wife were doing this regularly from our computers (iBook and PC) before I changed it. I have a printer connected via ethernet to my extreme and an external HD connected via USB. The HD is still showing up on the Admin. Utility but the printer no longer is. Which setting is it that I need to change?
    On a side note..I've got other problems that MIGHT be associated with this, but I posted them in a different thread so as too not ask too many questions on one page.

    I think I found the answer to this question after several helpful people have answered OTHER questions I had about the AEBS.....(my wireless was set to "off" so I was getting that AEBS signal). And you thought there weren't people as dumb as me around.

  • Quadtone ICC print profiles not found in CS6

    I have several ICC profiles installed in the Colorsync>Profiles folder. They are QTR ICC profles for B+W printing. CS5 sees these profiles when assining  custom profle for  soft profing and when choosing a profile for printing.
    CS6 finds the profles in the pulldown window only when soft profing. They are missing from the list of profiles in the printing menu. If CS5 can find them why not CS6. Are hey in a diferent location?

    I am curious to know if there are some new rules in CS6 with sending printing through the colorsync (apple) pipeline.
    The above image shows that photoshop may be calling on colorsync to find attached profiles. My 9880 has no attached profiles by my other printed had this in the color sync area. It seems to me there is a lock down on the profiles to be used. This at least is my current standing interpretation based on other forums reading.
    But the other question is the profiles below the line. Where are they stored and where can I add my custom profiles to that list. Based on my previous beta post, I still believe there is a different policy on how adobe works in the printing pipeline. Ive been printing fine art large format prints for about 4.5 years always using photoshop as the color handler. It seems now the big boys at apple are trying to further their control by looping this through colorsync (if im correct).
    I know the last post on the beta page, I was asked to provide the profiles in question:

  • Printer software not found

    I have a epson sytlus CX5000 and it tells me that there is no software update. I have been on the epson website and tried to download the software and its not avaible fro download. I really dont want to buy a new printer and am need of some help please!!! I have the update OS X 10.8.
