I AM SO FRUSTRATED I AM ABOUT TO LOSE IT!

My story begins in a simple manner. I needed Internet I called Verizon. After calling the main number I got a very nice sales representative who explained to me the bundles and I picked one. I ordered my service and they told me that in about 4 days my Internet will be “turned on” aka READY DATE! My ready date came and I connected the modem I had already installed to my desktop. Mind you the most importance reason I needed the Internet is to be able to do my System and Design analysis homework on an open workbench in my PC because the program does not run well on the WIFI capable MAC I have. Anyhow, I called tech support and that’s when it all started. For the life of me I could not understand the guy’s words. His accent was so thick it baffled and confused me further. After spending about 45 minutes on the phone with him he told me that the problem had to be resolved by sending a technician and that the dispatch office will call me.
THE DISPATCH OFFICE NEVER CALLED! I finally called them back the next day to see what was going on and they kept transferring, putting me on hold for more than 15 minutes and so on. When I finally got someone they told me that I needed to be transferred back to tech support and someone whom I cannot understand answered again my called once more. I have spent all my free time trying to get some reliable information on the status of my service to no avail. I can honestly say that never have I gone through this with any other company. Yes’, I have had my fair share of being placed on hold but not LIKE THIS. Verizon please get your act together, I don’t see you wining any J.D Power and Associates award for costumer satisfaction anytime soon. Now, please let me know when I will be getting Internet!

I keep getting an error window saying that this URL is invalid and cannot be loaded. If I exit this window the page loads or the error message reappears a few times then the page loads. Frustrating. Started about 9 months ago.

This only seems to happen using FF3.6.6, not IE.
The page will eventually load but it may need this error closed a few times. Some pages load without problems. I'm using XP SP3 on an Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3Gb.
Also after a recent FF update on an Apple MacPro 8 core (about 2-3 months ago) , OS10.5 - I keep being asked to approve the use of a couple of fonts despite ticking "do not ask again"....

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Fix your freaking software! Frustrated iPod user about to send it back

Ok, I really am at the end of my tether here.
I have iTunes 7.0.1 and an 80Gb iPod, all running on a lovely Windows XP Pro SP2+latest hotfixes system.
As per the other million (give or take several thousand) people who've had connection issues, my iPod is detected fine by Windows XP, and will even mount itself as the iPod.
However, iTunes completely fails to bother detecting it.
Yes, I've tried the extremely useless 5 R's (including this piece of useless support doc: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93716), but without fail, iTunes still acts like a little kid, and refuses to do what it's told.
I'm currently using the 'tried and true, but shouldn't have to do this' approach of restarting the iPod Service manually.
****, I've even made a .cmd file to do this automagically - this works to a point, and that point is I don't want to have to do this every freaking time I dock the iPod.
Some facts regarding this:
1) I have disabled various services within Windows XP, this has not stopped iPod's being detected by iTunes in previous incarnations (iTunes 6.x) - it was a Firewire capable iPod, btw.
2) I've tried deleting the BIN folder of the iPod programs directory, and repairing the iTunes installation, that's done SFA.
3) I've tried stopping the iPod Service.exe file via taskmanager, and doing the ol' c:\program files\ipod\bin\ipod service.exe /service routine. Again, thats done SFA.
4) I've tried a clean Windows XP installation, I've tried system restore, I've upgraded from 6.x to 7.0 to 7.0.1, and still SFA.
5) I've even gone as far as sacrificing a virgin goat under a blue moon, but all that got me was a court order to 'cease all satanic rituals'.
I am now at the point where I will simply send the iPod back to Apple, ask for a refund, and become one very ****** off consumer.
So, if there is any service rep out there, or other unwilling victim of this horrific tripe that Apple has unleashed that has managed to fix the problem up, please let me know how you've done it, because I'm starting to suffer from a lack of MUSIC!

that may well be the culprit. make sure that Terminal Services is not disabled. see:

I'm about to lose it! SB Live! and KT7Pro2 follies.

I'm past the point of frustrated. I just bought a K7TPro2 (6330) to replace my original K7T that died on me. I have a SoundBlaster Live! Platinum (CT-4760) that worked just fine with that system that I am now trying to install in the Pro2. I've logged about 8 hours in that endeavor to date. Here's the skinny of it (I'll try to be brief).
Windows XP fully recognizes the Live! card and gives every indication that it is in place and working; minus the sound. I do want to keep the Live! card as it has some nice features for musicians who use Cakewalk; more specifically SoundFonts (please tell me if the AC97 can do the same). The connectors on the front are very nice too.
- I checked all of the connections, wiring, etc. threefold
- with the new motherboard, I did buy a new case with a 400W Power Supply, running Athlon 1.1Ghz, 356Meg PC100 RAM
- I flashed the 6330 bios with the latest, 3.6 I think
- I installed the Via 4 in 1 patch, multiple, multiple times
- I downloaded the latest and greatest Live! drivers and installed, deleted, and reinstalled many, many times
- I even went throught the registry deleting references to the Live! before reinstalling
- I've tried the above with the onboard sound bios settings both enabled and disabled (onboard sound, modem, legacy audio settings)
- I've tried the above with Windows enabling/disabling the onboard AC97 sound
- I manually set IRQ 5 to legacy audio, the Live! card shows up on IRQ5, no conflicts there
- I switched PCI slots
- I threw the computer out the window (in my dreams)
I think that's the skinny of it. Please, can anybody help? I'm not completely opposed to buying a new card if it works well with SoundFonts, Cakewalk, and has an excellect sound/noise ratio. (and costs less than $150)

Please listen to what goofball2k said you really should try it in another machine first as if it's not the sound card that $400 wasted.
Also have you taken out the sound card and enabled the onboard sound yet? Try it and see if you can get the AC'97 working.

APPLE!!!! You are about to lose a customer!!!

This is not the first discussions started on this issue but it would be nice if someone from Apple would respond and solve it.
In a nutshell, iCloud is absolute JUNK when it comes to the iWork apps. I have tried every solution offered including NUMEROUS reset and erase all settings on both my iPad and iPhone. At BEST, I get a couple days of proper functionality. Every time the devices try to sync with icloud, they hang up with the blue status bar no more than half full. I once sat and kept my iPad alive for an entire battery cycle waiting to see if it would ever work. Do you know how many hours that was??? (Thank god for football on Sundays). The documents all show up correctly on the icloud.com through my PC but will not sync with my devices. I HAVE HAD ENOUGH and at this point every person that tells me they are looking at Apple I am showing Samsung and Android. Too bad since I have purchased 5 iPhones and talked about a dozen others into switching to them. The glitches NEED TO BE FIXED NOW!!!! There have been many many posts about this and no one seems to care. Where is the option to overrride what is on the device with what is on the cloud??? That has been a basic option with syncing since the days of the palm pilot. I AM FED UP and will not purchase another Apple product until something is done.

More frustrated that you could ever imagine!!!

I own an iPad 1 64GB 3G and an iPhone 4S 32GB. I use the iWork apps Numbers and Pages on both devices. Starting with a completely clean restart on both devices, I download all my docs stored on iCloud. Everything appears to be working fine. A couple days go by and I create a document in pages on the iPad (could be numbers too, just using pages for the example). Pages immediately begins to upload to iCloud showing the status in text at the top of the screen "updating one document", the blue status bar overlaying the document and the pinwheel indicating an online connection. These indicators never complete. Eventually the iPad shuts off due to inactivity. When I wake it back up, the status messages disappear and the white up arrow appears in the corner of my new document indicating it needs to be synced to the cloud. The app never attempts to try syncing again regardless of how long I keep it awake. I check iCloud from my PC and the document is there as it should be. I try my iPhone and the document downloads as if everything is normal. Now I update a different document on the iPhone. It uploads the updates to the iCloud and I verify it by checking on my PC. I go to my iPad and the document that got "stuck" before tries to update again. Same problem occurs with it "hanging up". The new document never downloads from the cloud because the original document continues to have unresolved problems. I try turning the iCloud completely off including deleting the account from my device and deleting all the documents. I close all the apps down (double click and use the multitask bar) and soft reset (home and power) the iPad. When I turn iCloud back on, all the docs download except the two new ones. They are both gray and the status bar is hung up on the original problem document. The second updated document never starts its download because pages can't get past that first one. Now I go to my iPhone and it is suddenly acting the same way. Hours of frustration later and a hard reset (erase all data and settings from options) on both devices is the only resolution that seems to work. Two days later the cycle repeats.

[SOLVED]Updating, but about to lose xulrunner...

...and possibly Eclipse.
I found out that I have three Xulrunners, I start Eclipse with this line
eclipse -vmargs -Xmx384m -Dorg.eclipse.swt.browser.XULRunnerPath=/usr/lib/xulrunner-1.9.2/
Now, pacman says this:
eclipse and xulrunner are in conflict. Remove xulrunner? [y/N]
...anything I need to worry about? The symlink points to a xulrunner I dont use for Eclipse...but...how about everything else?

Edit - I guess a wait-n-see is called for, thanks for the heads-up!! I also did a clean-install (Arch/XFCE) and then installed Firefox and Eclipse...Xulrunner is not in the picture anymore...
Edit 2 - (and possibly the solution) - I may simply go ahead and do the upgrade, accordint to this link http://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra/i686/xulrunner/ xulrunner is needed by packages I dont use anyway...

Open Letter to Palm: You're about to lose a customer

How long have 64-bit Windows client systems been available? A couple of years now? Windows XP 64-bit, Vista 64-bity, and now Windows 7 64-bit? Many (if not most) of the decent laptops are shipping with 64-bit hardware and 64-bit OS's.
The industry standard for OS support is to provide support for the new OS within 90 days. As a tester for a well known software company, we strive to provide full support for a new OS within 30 days.
Palm does not provide support for basic function (USB synchronization) on any of the 64-bit Windows client platforms.
Your long standing workaround is to use "Bluetooth". This is a workaround, not a solution. You are going to lose marketshare as a result. "For 64-bit Windows editions, Bluetooth is the preferred connection method for synchronization. USB synchronization is not supported for 64-bit Windows editions."
I am in the market for two new phones. While I would love to purchase a new Palm Pre, it is looking like I am going to have to go with one of the many great competitors.
I have seen written in the forums that who we REALLY need to be writing is Access because they write the Desktop/HotSync code. This is BS and here's why. Palm produces their line of phones and sends their functional requirements to whoever actually manufactures it. They do the same with the desktop software/hotsync manager. Palm should have told Access that they wanted Day-1 support of the 64-bit USB synchronization. How many years have passed and we still do not have it? 2? 3?
You've got 45 days and then I'm going to be deciding on whether I get an iPhone, Android, or even a Blackberry.
I'll be looking for some type of support announcement around March 31st, 2010.

I totally agree with the above comments - love my palm but will have to give it up for the following reasons
1) lack of support for windows 7 as stated
2) the palm pre sucks .... there should be a device that is as good as the iphone, but also organizes in the same way that the older palms do. these old pda's still had the best organization of contatcts, memos, tasks etc. Also Pal desktop is excellent. Why the palm ore abandoned this is beyond me.
Suggestions
Palm could make a lot of money if it made a palm desktop software that could be a client on google android, and work in the same basic way as it does on the palm tx and older series.
Also, a good desktop software that was compatible with blackberry would also be brilliant.
I am experimenting with a blackberry, and next will try an iphone, as a decide which device i will stick with for the coming decades

HT1688 all i want to do is add songs from my new computer to my iphone 4s. But that doesnot seem to be working.. Itunes wnats me to sync and lose all my music on my iphone. This is very frustrating i dont want to lose over 700 songs!!!!

This has always been the case.
All iphones have always only synced to one computer at a time.
Syncing to another will indeed erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer.
Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to the new one.

Please help me, I'm about to lose it!!!

I'm going to keep this short as possible. I recently switched ISPs and have not been able to get my TC to connect me to the internet. I reset the TC so that it would forget my old network settings. I discovered I have a bad WAN port (since no matter what I do, before and after resetting the TC, the light above the WAN port does not illuminate when I plug in an ethernet cable), therefore I put the TC in bridge mode and still no success. I just don't get it!!
I am so tired of buying supposedly nice things because they are "reliable" and then they don't work.
If it helps I am using an iMac with Mountain Lion OSX and my TC is a 2TB that is just over 1 year old.

It is basic requirement to lock speed of a port.
I hope Mr CWhitmarsh you do have AppleCare because otherwise this could be expensive episode.
Try and figure out how the port got damaged.. did you have electrical storm for instance.. were other network devices taken out?? It is unusual to have just a single port on a single router.
If the TC is just over a year it is out of warranty but should be a gen 4.. can you just check the rubber mat for the model number. A1409 it should be.. please confirm.
If it is actually a bit older and gen 3 we are starting to see board faults which could include losing ethernet.. try leaving the TC off for a day and checking when you start cold.. it might only work for a few minutes but watch carefully.. even as it powers up, watch for the telltale flash of all the leds on the ethernet ports.

As the title of this post is a bit truncated, I am assuming that the issue here is the empty page just after the title page and you need to delete this page.
Workarounds could be:
- You can try deleting some empty lines in the page above it (the title page) to see if it removes this page
- as this page is an extension of title page, it can be removed through Production->Remove Title Page option. (please copy the contents of title page elsewhere before removing it)

Frustrated - Duplicates and "download@2008" files in library

Hi,
I had to reformat my computer. I had all my songs on a backup drive. When I downloaded itunes, it found all my songs, but it duplicated everything. I think it's because it searched for my files, and somehow imported them as well, who knows.
I deleted all the files, uninstalled itunes. changed my folder structure around so that it was all a clean slate. Basically, I now have only an itunes music folder, with all the files categorized by artist.
When I import the folder using the import folder to library, it will import all songs, but there are a bunch of songs that still duplicate. Also, it is then creating "download" files. I have about 20 of these, and also a download file called "download@2008 12-27T07;59,20". When I look at the paths to any of these "download" files, it points to songs that are already in my library.
Please please help. I'm losing my mind.

I haven't been through as much as you, but I still feel frustrated (and perhaps about to lose my mind).
I've been using Windows Media Player (and therefore I have all wma files), and that's been fine. All my music is well organized, and the albums and artist information in WMP is very clear and easy to access. People make fun of me for speaking highly of WMP, but so far it's been a great program with no problems.
Recently, I won an iPod Shuffle, so I realized I would have to download iTunes if I wanted to use it. I downloaded it, and have had non-stop problems converting my music into the iTunes format. I have duplicates, albums have been split up... It's just structured everything in a horrible, non-intuitive way.
Everyone talks about how easy-to-use iTunes and Apple software is, but it has caused me nothing but frustration thus far. I'm just glad I won the iPod, and that I didn't actually pay for it.
Sorry to rant (and not say anything constructive related to your problem), but I had to get that off my chest. Ah, the Internet can be a wonderful thing...

Frustrated about Sync and Outlook!

I am new to the DInc and I’m using the provided HTC Sync with Outlook 2007. I went through the effort of transferring all my contacts from my lotus notes (company) to Outlook (non-company supported but easier to transfer). I even took pictures of friends and coworkers from various sources and put them in either to the phone contact list, or to the Outlook contact list (depending on where the photo was located. Now, seemingly completely random, these pictures are getting lost. Calendar doesn’t seem to synch the way it should, if I enter an item into the Outlook Calendar, it doesn’t necessarily transfer. I’m about to lose my cool and throw my **bleep** DInc in the trash. Has anyone else experienced this crap?

Wow... just gets more and more fun. called Verizon, they don't support Sync please call HTC. Called HTC... there's no known issue with synch, but there is a new version of sync coming out in a few weeks that may help fix "my problem". Then suggested I do a Microsoft Office online check up to make sure my Office is working alright. I guess this shouldn't surprise me.

Verizon Wireless is About to Cost Me a Home!!!!!!!!!

This is EXTREMELY frustrating and I'm about to lose the home I really want to buy.
I applied for a mortgage this month (January 2014) and that's when I realized there's collections activity on all 3 credit bureaus with Verizon that I already paid. These collections are affecting my loan approval and now my mortgage loan is on hold. I have a bid on a house that I'm about to lose because Verizon's recovery department can't get their act together and is giving me the runaround. I PAID THIS ACCOUNT LAST SUMMER.
Last summer, I had a balance outstanding with Verizon on a couple subaccounts. I called recovery and they said I had a balance of $643.19. I paid this full amount about a week after the phone call (all documented).
When I discovered the collections on my credit bureaus. I immediately checked my bank account dating back to last summer and it shows the payment POSTED clearly saying "Verizon Wireless Bill Pay" etc.... I called recovery the next day after being transferred 3 times and wait times totaling 43 minutes while I'm at work. I explain my long story to the rep and she asked me to fax in the bank statement that shows it cleared and she said they'll call me within 48 hours (this was last week. I faxed it immediately and also attached a blank check to show it's my account (accounts numbers match).
Of course I didn't get a call back so I called them on Friday to get an update because the realtor, the mortgage lender, the seller and myself are all waiting on this. There are no updates and the rep asked me to call back Monday. This is after I had to explain to whole entire story again. After explaining the story each time, the rep always tries to fix it even though I adamantly tell them they can't fit it and just to check the notes and give me an update.
Fast forward to Thursday and two more phone calls, two more times of explaining the story to new reps, two more supervisors, I STILL haven't had a resolution yet. Now they're asking for my full credit card number to search the payment. WHY SHOULD I GIVE MY CREDIT CARD NUMBER AGAIN WHEN THIS IS NOT MY MISTAKE AND IS VERIZON'S MISTAKE????? I made the payment, it says it clearly on my bank statement, my bank will back me up on this!! I'm about to lose the home I want to purchase because Verizon lost my payment! I want this escalated to someone that CAN help with a sense of urgency since nobody else seems to care that Verizon's mistake is about to cost me a home. The rep told me to email the "Contact Us" link on the website. Are you kidding???? THat's how I escalate to someone higher up? To email a general email address that thousands of other customers are emailing?? Unacceptable....
I have been given 3 days to get this cleared up or I lose the bid on the home. If that happens, this WILL become news. If they cannot locate my payment after over a week, I don't think they will and I will lose this house. Even if I lose it and apply for another home, these collections WILL still show on my credit bureau and I'm still screwed over by Verizon. Desperate cry for help online...is there ANYONE that can actually help or did I just waste a week and lose a home? If this remains on my credit report and I can't get a mortgage, then this WILL go viral online and make news. It's only fair I get it credited and it gets removed from my credit report. I've sent in a bank statement, a screenshot, a blank check showing matching account numbers and now they want my credit card number. This is completely unacceptable and people need to be aware of this...

First off the non payment to verizon was indeed correct. You admit this in your post.
Secondly, correct information even if paid in full will stay on your credit report for 7-10 years. Any subsequent posting to the trade line will again make it show longer. Read the link it is the law.
Your state of residence may have credit reporting laws similar to the Federal Law.
A mortgage lender can in most cases overlook certain debts that have been paid. It varies from lender to lender. I know a couple that had a electric company bill posted on his credit report, not a big invoice just $90 the electric company never sent the invoice after they moved or the post office did not forward it. In any case the bank only needed a letter from the creditor stating that the invoice has been paid in full.
They received their mortgage and the credit bureaus show it as paid.
However verizon wireless will not be able to assist you with such documents because of just where and who in this large company can produce the document you need? And they will not remove the information from your three credit bureaus. The information that you were late, or went to collections, or charged off is factual so it will remain.
When we bought our home we had the credit union give us an advanced copy to see where we stood. They even said they would use the report from the best one we liked. Needless to say we have no negative dings so getting mortgage and personal lines of credit are no problem. You have to watch your report very carefully and often.
I know that is no comfort to you now. The good part about this is *IF* because of Verizon's not reporting properly or it being in error that could have been fixed, you can get a lawyer and sue for three times the amount of the mortgage you lost due to their error. However if the information is correct be it paid or unpaid the black mark will stand.
