I am trying to put itunes in computer again and up comes "old version of Bonjour can not be removed" and I can not load on computer.  Does anybody have a solution?

I am trying to put itunes back in computer again.  An error comes up "old version of bonjour can not be removed.  How do you remove this to download itunes.  Can not remove itunes from remove programs.  What can I do now?

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Does anybody have a solution to uninstall itunes without Control Panel??

I cannot open itunes, it comes up with a network location error, this error also comes up when i try to uninstall from the control panel in order to reinstall, windows has no solutions, how can i completely remove itunes to reinstall??
To be more specific, the message I recieve is as follows:
"The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.  Click OK to try again or enter an alternate path to a folder containg the installation package "Itunes.msi" in the box below"
I read in an older thread to download an "installer cleanup utility" from microsoft, microsoft has removed this from availability, is there something else available that will help me completely remove? I am running windows xp.
I was successful in removing all other Apple related programs from the Control Panel (Bonjour, Quicktime, Apple Software update, etc) itunes is the one giving me all the fuss.

    Many thanks Chenks
I have now finally got it to sync.
This is the problem as I see it- there were two copies of iTunes on my computer- I don't know how, but I was constantly trying to go through the version that I have always used (the one in the dock), I tried loading up the other copy and hey presto, without any prompting it came up saying that it was syncing with Apple TV. I can now stream music to my Apple TV and everything. I am one excited person, this has been 5 days wasted trying to sort out this problem. I can now get on with everything I should have done over the last 5 days. Thanks to those who offered their suggestions

  • I AM TRYING TO RESTART MY MACAIR BUT AM TOLD THAT MAIL IS PREVENTING THE RESTART AND I NEED TO CLOSE MAIL. HOWEVER I FIND THAT I AM UNABLE TO QUIT MAIL. DOES ANYONE HAVE A SOLUTION?

Hi. I am trying to restart my macbook air. but getting the following popup : "The application Mail cancelled shut down. To try again, quit Mail & chose Aplle menu > Shut down"
Problem: I dont seem to be able to quit Mail. "Quit Mail" in the menu is grey. Also, I can seem to open Mail & see my mails.
This problem started to showup after I downloaded & installed Thunderbird as a mail software.
    Could somebody advie.

To make Mail quit you'll need to perform a forced quit or, failing that, a forced shutdown.
When an application won't quit you can hold the Command and Option keys together and then type the ESC key. This (usually) brings up a dialog with all the running applications. Select the offending program and click the Force Quit button.
If this doesn't force the application to quit (quite rare) or if you cannot get the Force Quit Dialog to pop up, hold the power button for about 10 seconds to shut down the entire computer. This should be a last resort but sometimes is necessary.

  • I can't get on iTunes does anybody have a solution

Please help it keeps on saying can not get on iTunes please help me

You cannot report a problem in iTunes on the iPad. If that is what you are trying to do, it will not work. You have to report a problem with a purchase in iTunes on your computer, or you can try emailing iTunes Support as well on the iPad.
However, if you are getting the  "can't connect to the iTunes Store" message and yoy want to download apps, update apps or purchase from iTunes, that's a different issue altogether.
But that can't be the issue, because if you are trying to get a refund for an iPhone app, you obviously were able to connect to the App Store to purchase the app already.

  • I cannot install itunes as an old version of bonjour cannot be removed

I tried to upgrade to a new version of iTunes but it failed and i had problems with the bonjour software. I have no managed to uninstall everything except Bonjour. When i try and install iTunes, an error message appears saying an old version of Bonjour cannot be removed contact support.
There is a Bonjour folder in my C/Programme Files folder and is also listed in the control panel but i cannot remove it as it is looking for bonjour.msi file?
How do i get past this?

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?
