I can hear sounds from my laptop but cant hear using headphone

i am having hp pavillion g 6-1220se,serial no:5cd146766w,Product no-a8s15ea#abv.the problem is i can hear sound for some application like skype through my headphone,but cant hear any sound while playing movies .but my system speakers are working fine.please resolve this as early as possible,as i bought this hp only nearly one month ago

Please enable Speakers in Playback devices as follows:
1. Right click speaker icon (right hand corner)
2. Select Playback devices
3. Right click Speakers
4. Enable it
5. Click Apply/Ok

Try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp59001-59500/sp59154.exe
When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers. Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, download and reinstall the Chipset driver on the following link.

When the Chipset reinstallation has completed, shutdown the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery. Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds. Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu. Press f9 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f5, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter. Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
Let Windows fully load - it will automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete. Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation. When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices. Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio.

I cant hear sounds from my iPAD, but i can hear sounds from headset.

I tried reset and restart. It worked for a few times, but is is not working now. Any suggestion?

Thanks, the bluetooth was off. I am now relying on headset now. I am using skype and i am able to turn on the iPAD speaker with control bar, but i am not able to turn it on Safari. Now that i am sure it is not hardware failure, it is software conflict, just don't know how to adjust it correctly. I will go to Apple Store to bug some of sales now.

I have the same problem with my 5th-generation iPod! In addition to the red-slashed circle, my iPod will not show up in iTunes nor will it charge until I forcefully eject it and reset it.
Here is how I have learned to "fix" this problem over the years: make sure your iPod is fully charged before you try to plug it into your computer. The red-slashed circle comes on initially but you'll see that there's activity going on pretty quickly. The key seems to be having the iPod completely charged; even the slightest bit of depletion of battery makes everything go wrong.
If this fails, make sure iTunes is already open before you plug in your fully charged iPod. Finally, if this fails as well, disconnect your internet connection, have iTunes open, and then plug in your fully charged iPod. These last ideas are probably more placebo than truly useful, but I have had luck with them when I'm ready to throw my iPod and laptop out the window.

Yes, you can. You can configure the Side Switch (above the volume button) either as Mute switch or Rotation lock.
Settings > General > Use Side Switch to: choose what you like the Side Switch to function as.

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their colors and that you haven't enabled High Contrast in the Accessibility settings.

When I use my iPhone to call I can't hear anything from my iPhone but the person that I call can answer it but when answer both of us can't hear anything and when I put my iPhone to my face the screen is still on and when I quit the phone application and open it again it will automatic call my recent call. And when my friends call me my iPhone didn't show anything even the missed call I'm only know that I missed the call from messages from carrier. Apple isnt here. this is a user based forum for technical questions. The solution is to restart, reset, and restore as new which is in the manual after that get it replaced for hard ware failure. if your within your one year warranty its replaced if it is out of the warranty then it is 199$

I recently got new mac air and transferred my old version garageband projects now when I open them in 10.0.2 I can add new tracks but then nothing can record, shows its receiving sound from software inst. but no sound. I checked audio preferences and

Can one download old version still ? or can you run both versions on OS10.9.5 ?

Here's something I found out in the meantime, maybe this is interesting for somebody or maybe - problem's not totally solved - enough info for any of you to give me further advice.
When I start Logic Core Audio driver de-activated, I can open old songs. Then I save them in a new folder with all audio files and a new name. And I remove all EXS24 instruments as well as the Space Designer. I quit Logic, re-open with Core Audio activated and I can open the song.
Problem no.1: EXS24 instruments don't find the appropriate samples, but EXSMananger Pro did help me with this. Same problem with Space Designer, which doesn't find the impulse responses, connected to a certain preset.
Two questions, every idea would be great!
- Is there any way to teach Space Designer Presets where to look for impulse respones. I can load IR samples directly and create a new preset, but I can't use my old ones.
- Is it possible to install Logic from scratch over an existing version? Or how should I de-install everything connected with Logic and then install a fresh version from CD?

You might not have enough space on your phone.
Look on iTunes and see how much space the photos you copied over is consuming.

Is some sound manager preinstalled on your notebook? You can find it in control panel. Is there something like Realtek sound manager?

Verify that the volume is set to a level you would normally be able to hear.
