I cannot use Hyperlinks in MS Excel 2013 due to Organization Policies

When I insert a hyperlink in EXCEL 2013 work book, in order to link various worksheets within the workbook, I constantly receive the following message: "Your Organization's Policies are preventing us from completing this action for you. For more info
please contact your help desk". Yet my application is not part of some organization and I merely use it in home. I do not know if it is relevant but I have uninstalled IE because it created a series of problems in my DELL laptop which runs Win 8.1
Can somebody help me to resolve aforementioned problem?
Yannis Kinalis

Hi Yannis,
Is your problem restricted only to Excel, or does it happen with other software such as Word, Outlook ?
And you mentioned that you have already uninstalled IE, what's your default browser now? maybe it is the
file associations causes this issue.
Anyway,if this issue happen with all of office programs, you can refer to the thread below:http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-performance/your-organizations-policies-are-preventing-us/94986167-d289-477b-ba57-238472079b32?page=1

  • Outlook 2013 XLS Attachments cannot be opened in Excel 2013 due to Trusted Center restrictions with Outlook Secure Temp Folder

    Dear all,
I'm having some serious issues with Office 2013's Trusted Center settings. In Outlook 2013 XLS Attachments cannot be directly opened in Excel 2013 with double-clicking due to Trusted Center restrictions for Excel 2013 regarding Outlook's Secure Temp Folder.
I tried to adjust the corresponding Office 2013 Administrative Template within my GPOs but to no prevail.
I did find out that Outlook 2013 places an attachment within the Outlook Secure Temp Folder located at "C:\Users\a.ollischer\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.Outlook\PPIU10RW” before passing it to Excel 2013 in order to
open it. It fails due to not trusting this location though I added the corresponding path to my Trusted Locations.
What can I do in order to make this work without having to tediously save each and every attachment to "My Documents" prior to opening it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Maurice 7785,
Deal and customize attachment security behavior to access such kind of blocked file format. Usually, Outlook does not allow users to open such unsafe type of attachments. It means they are blocked them by default, so you need to unblock such items using REG
    values.

  • Cannot insert object error using Power View in Excel 2013

I created a short table in Excel 2013, positioned the cursor in the table and clicked Inset/Power View Report. I get a status window saying Excel is opening a Power View sheet but then I get a Power View error: Cannot Insert Object. I am able to insert new
tabs in the workbook. When I try the insert again, I just get the Power View error. I looked at other threads with similar issues and did the following:
Made the Formula bar visible - no change
Tried to repair Office 2013 but that option is not available when I right click on the program in the Control Panel
De-installed Silverlight - Tried to insert Power View Report. A Power View tab was created with the Power View picture and Power View ribbon. Got the message to install Silverlight and Reload. Installed Silverlight hit Reload and the Power View tab didn't
change. Hit Power View Report and got the Cannot Insert Object error message again.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi,
Did you use PowerView first time? I notice you had found a similar thread and tested the solutions.
PowerView is an add-in in Excel2013, We must make sure that you check some option in the trust center and Add-in center.
    http://blogs.office.com/b/microsoft-excel/archive/2012/10/04/intro-to-power-view-for-excel-2013.aspx
    Location1: Excel Options>Add-in>Solver Add-in enable
    Location2: Excel Options> Trust Center> Add-in
Then you said that you couldn’t repair the Excel 2013, please refer to the following link:

  • SharePoint 2007 Export to Excel 2010 or Excel 2013 Fails to Export All Fields in All Items View

    Hi All,
When I am trying to export the SharePoint View from SharePoint site to Spreadsheet (Excel 2013), I am able not able to export the the whole data, I'm missing some numerical columns from being displayed in Excel
I have Infopath form (2007) published on SharePoint Site and I am using MOSS 2007 and Excel 2013. My form has only 20 or so fields and the rest are fields I generated in the form library to do several other calculations. I have already 73 columns
displayed which should be exported to Excel, need help

    Hi,
As per your post, I understand “Excel cannot connect to the SharePoint list” is thrown out in Excel 2010 when exporting the external list in SharePoint 2013. We are able to export the external list to Excel 2013.
This issue does not occur on the standard lists.
I am able to reproduce the issue and it could be a potential issue in SharePoint 2013.
We will log this issue to our suggestion box. As after the submission, we may not have any time guarantee when the fix may be released, but it may come out on next cumulative update.
    Appreciate your time and efforts.
    Thanks.

  • PowerPivot Excel 2013 crashes after column rename in source datatabase

    Hello,
    Using Windows 8.1, Excel 2013 64Bits, PowerPivot Add-In :
Not using a SQL Server TabularModel just a local Excel Model.
    Having 32MB Ram  memory.
Readed a table from a SQL Source that contains 13.000.000 records. After loading I discoverd that in the Source one of the columnn names is incorrect. It's name ExecudingProvider and should be ExecutingProvider, so I changed the SQL Server source table and
    added the "t" to ExecutingProvider...
Back in PowerPivot I do go to the PowerPivot Data model > Design > Table Properties (not sure of translation using dutch edition but you should be able to find it)
It mentions that it is missing the ExecudingProvider. It;s indeed gone from the Columns that are listed, in place I do see the ExecutingProvider column which is not selected, clicked the checkbox to select the new column name. When clicking Save PowerPivot
starts loading. On reach of 13.000.000 records PowerPivot crashes saying an error has occurred, no real specification on what error and restarts excel automatically.
My work arround for know is to remove the table from the model and add it again, causing to recreate all relation ships. This should not be the case I think.
Do other have this same problem and did you figure out what is going wrong?

  • Data Model damaged, Cannot connect to Access 2013 from within Excel 2013

    Hello,
Recently I am not able to use PowerPivot for Excel 2013 and I cannot connect to my Access 2013 database tables from within Excel 2013. Whenever I try to click on a slicer in my Excel worksheet, it gives me the following error: "Excel was unable to load

I am using Microsoft Office Pro Plus 2013 on Windows 7, 64-bit version. I have tried reinstalling Microsoft SQL Compact Edition 2005 and reinstalling Office 2013. I have run out of ideas and am a loss what to do next ?
Can anyone help point in the right direction for a possible solution to this problem ???

  • Error Message: "Excel cannot complete this task with available resources" when creating pivot table with Excel 2013

    Hi,
One of our users encountered this problem with Excel 2013 while creating pivot tables, particularly with large files. We tried to modify Virtual Memory
of the pc but error still persist. Why does this happen and how can we resolve this? Thanks.
Another error message encountered by the user, this time when opening large files. The files she tried to open are working fine in 2010. But when opened in 2013, it prompted : "There
isn't enough memory to complete this action. Try using less data or closing other applications."

    Hi,
In regarding of the issue, please provide us more information to assist you better.
Did your user using the Excel 2013 and Excel 2010 with same PC? If not, please let me know the both of the 2 PCs' hardware list/Windows operation system info.
Did you using Excel 2013 32bit version and Excel 2010 64bit version?
General speaking, this issue usually occurs with Office 2013 32 bit version. It has a limitation of 2Gb of memory that can be used by its process. And the 64-bit Excel can handle larger workbooks.
Thus, if your user using 32bit Excel, I recommend try 64bit Excel instead.
Here is a similar issue, we also could try it:

  • Cannot Insert Object in Excel 2013

I am having trouble inserting PDF's in Excel 2013. I go to Insert-->Object-->Create from File then browse to the PDF and select the checkbox for "Display as Icon." After doing this i get a generic error message that says "Cannot Insert Object." No other details.
    Specs:
    Windows 7 x64
    Office 2013 x64
Adobe Reader X and XI. Tried them both.
    What I have tried:
The most common answer I have found was to disable the enhanced security in the Adobe Reader preferences. This does not help.
I also tried downgrading from Adobe Reader XI to Reader x, disabling enhanced security. That does not work either.
I have found a workaround in Excel by going to Insert-->Package and doing it that way, but it does not show the Adobe Reader icon in the spreadsheet when it's done. If there's a way to use this method and still have the adobe icon that'd be great.
I called Microsoft support and they think this is an Adobe issue, because I can insert other things via the create from file method, just not PDF's.
    Other notes:
The Insert-->Object-->Create from File method works fine in Excel 2010 so I think that Adobe Reader doesn't do well with Excel 2013.
I need the inserted PDF's in spreadsheets to look a certain way. They must have the Adobe Icon and I need to be able to change the text below the icon.
    Does anybody have any suggestions?

    Update:
I uninstalled Adobe Reader and tried a different PDF reader and the insert in Excel works fine. I really would prefer to use Adobe though. This leads me to believe that maybe it's just a setting or something in Adobe reader. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

  • Excel 2013 hyperlinks will not transfer when converting to pdf

Hyperlinks in Excel file do not transfer when I convert to pdf. I am using Excel 2013 with Acrobat XI Pro.

While Crystal exports to pdf indeed lose hyperlink functionality (both in Crystal as well as in Visual CUT), Visual CUT allows you to use Crystal formulas (acting as hidden Tags) to create hyperlinks in the resulting pdf file. Another option supported by Visual CUT it to automatically detect file references in the pdf text and turn them into hyperlinks.  Contact MilletSoftware for more detail.

  • Excel 2013 - Cannot complete this task with available resources

We were getting this error message when we first updated to Excel 2010. A user would select all of the cells in a workbook, try to do something with them (sort, copy/paste, etc), and Excel would crash or give the above error message about available resources.
I quickly found and applied a hotfix that addressed the issue, and that was that.
Now we're having the same issue in Excel 2013 (specifically, Office 365 ProPlus click-to-run installation). Only this time, there are not hotfixes available (because it is click-to-run?) and I'm not sure where to go from here. I have a user who is selecting
all of the cells in a workbook choosing the option to "Merge and Center", and Excel either freezes at that point or gives the above error message. This is a task he has done daily with these particular workbooks for the last several years without
issue, that is until moving to Excel 2013.
Excel was crashing on him regularly after updating to 2013 version, so I replaced his machine with a brand new one and brand new Office installation. He has plenty of memory (machine has 6GB of RAM) and the workbook is not particularly large (a few hundred
rows and few dozen columns). I do notice that when the error occurs, the memory in use by excel immediately balloons from 80MB to 1.5GB. However the machine is still using less than 50% of its available 6GB at that point.
I've disabled all add-ins, made sure we're on the latest Excel build (15.0.4517.1005). Not sure what else I can do. Any thoughts?
    Shaun

    Hi,
Does it happen with a particular file or with all the files?
Is this a shared file? If yes, have you set any password?
Create a new file and check if it works. If it helps, then copy the contents of the file to a new file and check if it helps.

  • Outlook 2013 - cannot use RoomLists and Suggested Times

    Hi,
maybe someone has a clue on what is wrong here.
In OWA, we can use the new features RoomList and Suggested Rooms when using the Calendar Assistant to plan a new meeting. The room list can be first be chosen, and the fields for the rooms are then populated as expected, you can choose one of the rooms.
The following is true for every Outlook Session on PCs/virtual Clients, they are configured to use Online Mode: In Outlook 2013, when using: New Meeting - Scheduling Assistant, the feature "Choose an available room" stays complete empty and
does not show the room list. Also the box below that, labeled "suggested Times", does not load or display content. Instead, an error message is displayed in it: "Suggestions cannot be provided because free/busy data could not be retrieved."
Laptops use the exact same Outlook version, but run in cached mode. Here, if you deconfigure "Communication using http" in the OL profile, the lookup for suggested times works _once_ until Restart, then the button is automatically added, the
profile automatically made good again, and the suggestion function is broken again.
If you deconfigure the button "Connect to Microsoft Exchange using http" in the Outlook Profile under the connection tab on an _online mode PC_, the profile is broken and not automatically made good again. So no temporary workaround is possible
    here.
We do not run policies that may keep Outlook 2013 from using the functions. In fact we do only rule cached or online mode.
Our Room List is free of special characters and short enough, so no problems that other people have found in their environments.
We have found some older articles reporting broken functionality, when applying or not applying hotfixes. We have checked several of that and it is not the source of our problem.
Also, we are currently within one domain, so no complicated setup using one or more forests or even other domains, configuration of free/busy accounts should not be an issue here.
Our best guess is it may have to do with using Exchange webservices or MAPI for the connection, see both ways described communicating over http or not above, but we have not found an error or wrong configuration here.
Can you please advise on where to search next?

    Hi,
Which version of Exchange server are you using?
Does the free/busy information display correctly if we click the Rooms button and select a room from GAL?
Are you trying to start a meeting in which either the Start time or the
End time is outside your working hours? If this is the case, this issue may happen. Please have a look at the following KB article and check if it applies:
