I changed my Apple ID and I keep being asked to verify my email.

I just recently changed my Apple ID because I switched email accounts from Yahoo! to Gmail. The ID change went through and I can log in to my Apple ID on the website, but when I try to connect to the iTunes Store to update an app, either it continuously tries logging into my old Apple ID, or when I attempt to log into the new one it asks me over and over to verify my email - even though my account says that my email has been validated.
I hope this is just a temporary issue that comes from changing the ID, because it is frustrating. I have been trying to update apps and simply log into the iTunes store on my iPhone, iPad, and iMac, but I am unable to because I am told to verify my email.
The strangest (and most frustrating) part of the verfication request:
When I try to log in, I get an error message saying:
You have not verified your Apple ID.
Click OK to review the instructions on how to verify your Apple ID.
I click OK. A page is then loaded that says:
A verification email has been sent to [email].
Check your email and follow the link to finish creating your Apple ID.
Your email has already been validated successfully. Thank you.
If my email has already been validated successfully, as I am continuously told, then why am I being told over and over that I need to validate it?

    To change your Apple ID, follow these steps:
    Go to My Apple ID (appleid.apple.com), click "Manage your Apple ID", and sign in.
    If you have two-step verification turned on, you'll be asked to send a verification code to the trusted device associated with your Apple ID. If you are unable to receive messages at your trusted device, follow the guidelines for what to do if you can't sign in with two-step verification.
    In the "Apple ID and Primary Email Address section," click Edit.
    Enter the email address you want to use, then  click Save Changes. Apple will send a verification email to that  address.
    Open the  email  from Apple, then click Verify Now in the email.
    When the My Apple ID page opens, sign in with your renamed Apple ID.
    If you have two-step verification turned on, you'll be asked to send a verification code to the trusted device associated with your Apple ID.
    After you see a message indicating that verification is complete, remember to update all of the stores and services that you use with your  Apple ID.

    That is good.  In that case, your one and only account has not changed, just the login credentials you use for it.  All your previous purchases will remain associated with that account, and the new login.
    In essence, an AppleID is an email, but it has two parts.  One is the login email address and password everyone traditionally thinks of as an AppleID.  But that in turn is linked to an account with Apple.  As long as you use the manage Apple ID portal to just change the email address and/or password for your exisiting AppleID, then the internal account tracks along with those changes as well.
    However, on your iOS devices, you will need to log out and then log back in with the new login credentials:
    settings -> iTunes & App Stores - tap your AppleID, and choose log out.  Then log back in with the new email address and new password.

    Yes you can change your Apple ID. Log into your account and change your email associated with the account. You however cannot create a new account and transfer the media.

    If they are no longer in your camera roll, save them to your camera roll before deleting the account (open your my photo stream album, tap Select, tap the photos, tap the share icon -- box with upward pointing arrow, the tap Save to Camera Roll).

    You should be able to make changes to your apple id information (and in your case it seems like you need to change your rescue email in the "security and privacy" section) by logging into your account at appleid.apple.com

    If the phone was jailbroken, there is nothing we can do for you. It may be permanently bricked due to damage done by the jailbreak.
    You can try putting it in DFU mode and restoring. If that doesn't fix it, then it's most likely scrap now.

    Both iOS and Google have made numerous changes in the past 2-3 years so external factors could be what's causing this, not necessarily something that's changed at your end.
    If you have Calendar syncing enabled, but no calendars to sync in Google, try turning off Calendar syncing and just leave email enabled.
    Also, Google occasionally "locks" accounts from external access (mobile devices), so try unlocking it here: https://accounts.google.com/b/0/DisplayUnlockCaptcha

    On your Mac, go to System Preferences>iCloud, sign out, then sign back in with the ID you want to use.
    If you're running iOS 7 on your iPod and old ID is your ID, and if your new ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.
