You have to sign out completely and then sign back in.
On a Mac, System Preferences>iCloud and click 'Sign out'.
On an iOS device, Settings>iCloud and click 'Delete account' (this will not delete the account from the server).
Your synced data will disappear from your devices when you sign out, but reappear when you sign back in (give it time).

In order to sign out of your iCloud account that had a ID change, you would need to change the account back to the original. The reason for that is probably due to the Find my device feature and it needs to verify and if that iCloud account does not exist because of the name change and you cannot sign out. Changing it back is pretty easy and should not ask you to verify but once you change it and sign out, you can change it back to what you want it to be. To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the other ID. When you delete the account it will prompt you about what to do with the iCloud data. If you need to migrate it and merge it with the data in the new account choose Keep on My iDevice; then choose Merge to upload the data and merge it with the new account. If your data is already in the other account and you don't need to migrate it to the other account, choose Delete from My iDevice.

I changed my main email on my apple ID now when I try sign in with the new email it doesn't work and neither does my old one so I don't know what happened, any help?... - Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.
If you can't log into Settings>iTunes and App stores with your new ID them mean there is a problem. Try restting the password and try to sign in again.

Yesterday, after discovering that the email address I used as my Apple ID was about to be deleted, I used my iPad to update my Apple ID to a new one. Everything went fine, until I moved on to my iPhone, which is still asking me for the password for my OLD Apple ID. I can't work out how to tell either my iPhone or my Macbook that this one is out of date and get them to change to the new one. iTunes is changed, but the settings aren't. Can anyone help me please?
You haven't stuffed it, you just haven't signed out, so do that now, everywhere your old ID appears needs to be signed out of.
Any variant of "Find My" (phone/mac/pad etc) that's signed in should be signed out.

Content is forever tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one Apple Id to another. Apple does not merge Apple IDs. You will never be able to access your content bought with another Apple ID with a new ID. -

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
When you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again. -
I was recently prompted to update iPhoto and make changes to the library. I did it but it keeps hanging up in step 5 or 6 and won't complete the cycle. I have used force quit, rebooted and started again several times. How do i get this to work?
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
If that fails:
Restore from your back up, repair the Library and try again. -

Seriously, I doubt that your answer helped Erik. He has two issues.
He installed the new program and has a double icon folders with software. One for the new & one for the old. (I have this same problem.)
He must have attempted to open one of the products and no longer see his personal settings transferred over. (The install will ask to have those settings migrating, but you have to accept it. eh, I could be wrong; but, that what i remembered doing.

However, i can not get any of my products to work. Ie. have to constantly click on icon to open; once open i get a unexpected error and have to close. I'm on a mac pro w/ latest os system.
In addition, I have tried to uninstall the older by clicking on the application's manager icon.; Unfortunately, it shuts down at each attempt. Therefore, I am unable to un-install the old product or the new.
Possibly, we were hoping that the new product would be simply updated if an old recent was already installed.
Instead, the installation simply created a new icon and the new folder with product. -

The progress for some games will transfer since some games synce progress to a cental server. For other games you will have to have the backup of the old iPod.

If you have acces to the old iPod yu can make a backup by connecting the iPod to the computer and right click on the iPOd under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up. Then restore from that backup. -
How the heck do I get my iPad to take the new Id? I can't dowload anything or update anything. I thought when I changed it and my password last night that the iPad would be set up with the new info.
No, it does not change automatically. For starters, go to Settings> iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Sign out of the old ID and sign in with the changed ID. That will allow you to start downloading content and updating apps again.

I installed Yosemite. This apparently has changed my iCloud address back to an old one which is no longer in use or a valid email address. It will not allow me access to change it. It even tells me my date of birth is wrong.
How do I get out of this fix?Have you tried to sign out of iCloud and sign in with the new ID? If so, what happened?
