I have 4gen Ipod touch. When I try to erase all content and settings the ipod goes to a screen with a USB plug with a round itunes logo at the top and is frozen there.

Why cant I erase all content and settings? When I choose this option from the menu it takes me to a screen with a USB plug and an itunes logo and freezes there.

What happens when you connect the iPod to your computer and restore via iTunes? That is how you restore to factory settings.
