"My computer has been infected by your Google Chrome product.
I "installed" Chrome at the recommendation of Facebook for a "game" that I use. I followed all Google Chrome's instructions.
My computer has received MULTIPLE warnings and infections.

Also, a multitude of tracking cookies and corrupted executable files. After I uninstalled Google, and Google Chrome (more than once), the problem persists. I have contacted AVG support and the only solution is to pay to have my computer fixed.
The first time this happened, 09/12/2011, I had to turn off every thing via my power strip in order to stop my computer from completely crashing. The AVG anti virus program I have has to run constantly because of Google Chrome. These warnings and these infections cannot be removed without me having to pay to have my computer cleaned/cleared of the infections. I am disable, a widow, and on very tight and fixed income. I cannot express how upset I am with this situation."

A '''chrome://...''' message from Firefox has nothing to do with the Google Chrome web browser, "chrome" is a term used for the Firefox user interface. If you give us that full "chrome" message, we can probably figure out what your problem is.

Why is adobe forcing me to download Chrome and the Google Toolbar with Flash? I'd rather not see CNN videos than have to have Chrome and the Google Toolbar on my computer.

You shouldn't download Adobe software from anywhere but the adobe.com domain. If you download it from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ you will get an opt-out for Google Chrome (or McAfee, or whatever is on today's menu):
Better yet, use the offline installers that were posted earlier.
While I use many Google products and services, Google Chrome is not one of them. I especially don't like how it installs, setting itself as the default browser without asking, and when you uninstall it, it will remain the default browser, which of course causes lots of problems.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I know it can be frustrating when you run into issues updating to the new iOS. In your specific situation, I would recommend placing your iPhone in what is called recovery rode and restore it from there. Please use the steps and information located in the attached link to restore using recovery mode.

DNG files do not contain some metadata supplied by the camera, which can be used by the manufacturer's software. Thus, if you don't keep the original Raw photo, you will lose this information.
If your 1000% sure you're never going to use the manufacturer's software, then this isn't a problem. But who can be sure what software you will be using 10 years from now?

If you can't remember the Passcode, you need to restore the device from the computer it was last synced with.
Follow the instructions for putting the device in recovery mode > iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
If you are a resident of the U.S., have iTunes 10.3 or later installed, and iOS 4.3.3 or later, can re download iTunes purchases for free.
So retore the iPod, then re download the iTunes media.

I DO NOT get ALL email messages from folks that say they sent me an email. I can get them sometimes and sometimes not.

There are folks that send me emails all the time. Sometimes they come in and most times they don't They are always telling me that they sent me an email and I have not received it. When I tell them to send it NOW as I am sitting at the computer, then the email comes in for the first time. This has been happening since I downloaded Thunderbird. Please tell me why this happens as it if a bit frustrating, especially when they don't know I have not received their email and the information is very important that I get the email and the information they are sending me.

Thunderbird downloads email messages that make it into your Inbox on your providers server. Are these missing messages actually in the Inbox and are not downloaded or do they not make it to the Inbox on the server.
If the later, ask your provider where your mail is going.
It might not hurt to log into your account on the server and check for a spam folder. You might be surprised to see what is in there.

Pdf email attachments - error msg after download "not decoding" - creating DWORD key did NOT work!

I went to REGEDIT and installed the DWORD key as suggested by ADOBE to fix problem created by security update & it did NOT work!! Attempting to save then open the files gives same error msg. I sent multiple emails from a book scanner at the library with pdf files in quick and searchable formats & neither will open! Someone else that I forwarded the email to was able to open with no problem & he is running version 10. There is no option to load earlier versions!!!! I am running version 11 on Windows XP.

I scanned hundreds of pages using a book scanner @ the law library - the USB port was not working so I had to choose the send by email attachment option. Received 30 emails & NONE (so far) of the pdf attachments will open - the error msg states "Reader could not open "doc" because it is either not a supported file or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)." I forwarded 2 emails to someone else running version 10 - he had no prob opening from email (I have version 11 & then I also reinstalled 9.5 & STILL getting the same error msg)! Used someone elses's computer who is running version 10 & same error msg. Each time I try a fix I then go to a 'new' unopened email & attempt to open an attachment that hasn't been previously downloaded. Adobe supposedly has a fix - from Regedit - create DWORD key @ HKCU/Adobe/Reader/11/AV General "bValidateBytesBeforeHeader" - I did that & restarted computer each time I installed etc - still NO solution! So unless you have another idea I have a THIRD 6 hour roundtrip to the Law Library in KC in my near future!

I have been working on movies in iMovie but after downloading dropbox and exporting iMovies as large files I can no longer open up imovie on the computer. If I download imovie again, will I have lost all my work ?

Yesterday I was working in imovie. I exported the files as both Quicktime movies and as large files which I then placed in a Dropbox account. Subsequently, perhaps because the files were so large, I have been unable to open the imovie programme. The menu appears but nothing else happens. If I download the software again will I loose all my previous work ? Has anyone any suggestions ?

Please follow the steps below:
1. Write down any product keys you are currently using for all SMART software installed on the machine.

After downloading music and dragging into iTunes I end up with multiple copies of the album on my hard drive. I do have the "copy files into iTunes library" checked. When I try to erase one of the copies I end up with red ! in iTunes library.

When I try to delete one of the copies of the album and go back to itunes and try playing a song, I get a red exclamtion point next to the song with an error message saying itunes cannot locate file. My questions are, Does Itunes literally make a copy of the song? If so , How do you know which file to delete?

Sony's own entertainment software on the Vaio plays merry **** with iTunes, worse there's no telling when it will kick in.
First head over to the Sony Vaio site and get the update for the software, that will stop it from messing with the iTunes database/library files when you connect your iPod.

Originally we were getting the error that the phone could not connect. Then, after deleting the account multiple times and re-adding it again, the error message CHANGED to having to log in to Yahoo and authorize.
When we went to Yahoo in a regular browser and logged in there was an alert telling us about connection attempts so it disabled mobile/iphone connectivity. It required that we change our password FIRST.
Then, we went in to Manage Apps and Webpages and saw that iPhone was not there but Facebook was.
After all of this went back to the phone and deleted then re-added the account again and SUCCESS!
It now also shows up on the Yahoo Manage Apps and Webpages.
Hope this helps someone else. Please consider giving me points if it does or like the post.

Three times I went through this same process for the same outcome. I have redownloaded Mountian Lion three times. I removed the Lion install package from the Applications folder in case this was causing a problem. Deleted and remounted the Mountain Lion package each time. Finally got the package to run through the install, restart and begin the file install - at the end it failed and I was left with a blank startup disc and no data. I have backed up. Through the OSX Recovery screen I selected a Lion reinstall - checked my credential against the app store -fine. But then failed on the reinstall. Now doing a recovery from current backup but wondering the **** is going on. Wasted over 24 hours of processor time.
