In-Transit Inventory invoices

Please help me here
We created a document type KI to use for recording and reversing the in-transit inventory movements that are done at the end of the month.  I have to test if this document type is working or not.
What would be my starting point?  How do I test this?

if i understand u r question then answer is u can't. The fact that the inter-organization transaction is in-transit or direct is not mentioned on the trasnaction. It is specified on the shipping n/w.
So if u have a n/w that when u ship items from a to b they actually go from a to c and then to b will be automatic.

  • How to cost intercompany in-transit inventory

    Hi-
I am not very famaliar with MM, I usually am FI.  I have a question about doing an intercompany transfer of inventory from one company code to another - US to Canada.  We are doing a STO that moves it.  When the transfer happens, I can see in my accounting documents that it is coming out of the US inventory.
It is going to a In Transit inventory location.  I was expecting to see the value of the inventory also being recorded on the receiving company but I don't see it until the receipt is made in Canada.
Have I missed something, why don't I see this inventory cost being picked up in the receiving company.  Thanks.

    Hello,
From what i see you are using a 2 step STO process and hence its normal to see the inventory in trasit till the receiving plant does a GR.
However if your requirement is to see a accounting document immediately you should  use a 1 step STO process where the GI from the sending plant will create a GR in the receiving plant. This is recommended only if the plants are located close to each other. In your case as the transfer is across 2 countries, it is bes that you use the 2 step process.
    Hope this clarifies.

  • Stock in Transit Inventory Difference

    Hi SAP Gurus,
We have a scenario such that, "there is some quantity of stock has been showing in Stock in transit".
When we verify the documents(PO, Delivery) pertaining to that stock in transit, all are very old(2004) and have been archivied already.
Now, How to reconcile the difference...?
    Please suggest.

  • Inventory posting - stock in transit G/L account

    Hello!
We have a unique requirement that we need to post the stock in transit inventory only if the delivery is for one particular customer (sold to party). It is our own company but not on SAP hence, on the books, an inter company transaction. All that is different in this case is the account assignment group of the customer which basically is no help in configuring OMWB (G/L account determination for inventory postings).
The material/plants/movement types are all the same for all transactions, thereby providing us with no 'uniqueness' in this particular transaction to post these stock in transit inventories to a different G/L. I could possibly look at having another movement type if that can help but then again, how will that be valid only for a particular transaction with this customer, I am not sure...
Can anybody provide me with a step by step instructions on how can this be achieved, if it indeed can be? Appreciate any help or posting here if anyone wants any more clarifications on the issue...
    Many thanks!

    Hi,
As you might already know that the G/L determination happen based on Movt type and the valuation class. in your case as the movt type and the val class are same, you willl not be able to customize to post it to different account
so for this you do 2 ways:
1: you create a new delyvery type and a new movement type so that you can configure the account determination (OMWB).
    2. you can influence the account determination by writing a code in the user exit ZXMBCU02 here you can force the system to post it into the different G/L account.
    Hope this helps,
    Vikrama

  • Stock Transport G/L Postings In Transit

We are using the stock transport orders to move product between plants within the same company code.  When the GI is posted to the delivery document, offsetting G/L posting are created in the issuing and receiveing plants to the inventory account for FG inventory.
Our controlling group has asked if it is possible to post to an "In Transit" G/L account in the receiving plant when the 641 movment is processed.  They would then like another G/L posting associated with the 101 movment to move the value from an In Transit account to the normal inventory G/L account.  Is this possible?

    As an example:
    Current Logic
    GI is posting movement 641.
       Credit to G/L account 350000 Invent-FG -$1000.00 (Sup. Plt.)
       Debit to G/L Account 350000 Invent-FG  $1000.00 (Rec Plt.)
Recept of Stock Transport Order Mvt.  101
       No G/L posting
    Requested Logic
    GI is posting movement 641.
       Credit to G/L account 350000 Invent-FG -$1000.00 (Sup. Plt.)
Debit to G/L acccout 359981 Gds In  Transit $1000 (Recv Plt.)
Recept of Stock Transport Order Mvt.  101
Credit to G/L account 359981 Gds in Transit -$1000 (Recv Plt.)
       Debit to G/L account 350000 Invent-FG $1000.00 (Recv. Plt.)
The business feels the standard "Current Logic" does not give them the necessary visibility of In-Transit inventory in the G/L

  • EDI Invoicing - Document contains same order item more than once

    Hi,
While trying to post an inventory invoice with EDI, we are receiving the following error message: Document contains same order item more than once.
On the PO and the inter-company invoice, the same material come more then 1 time. Can you please tell me what I could do to fix that issue? Ideally we would like to do not modify the PO or Intercompany invoice so that the same material can come more than once.
    Thanks
    Martin

    Hello,
maybe you've resolved this problem in the meantime.
I have encountered the exact same problem and will try solving this by setting the flag on field "GR-Bsd IV" in the purchase order at item level under the invoice tab.
    Can you verify this?
    Thanks,

  • How to Load data for Inventory Organizations

    Hi All,
I have flat file containing data for following fields,
Organization Code, Name, From(Date), Location,Org Classification ,Primary Ledger, Legal Entity, Operating Unit ,Item Master Org,     Material Account,     Outside Processing,     Material Overhead,     Overhead,     Resource,     Expense     Transfer Credit     Inter Org Receivables,     Inter Org Payables,     Intransit Inventory,     Invoice Price Variance,     Inventory AP Accural,     Expense AP Accural(Operating Unit Level),     Encumbrance,     Sales,     Cost Of goods Sold,     Deferred COGS     Cost Variance,     Receiving Inventory Account,     Receiving Clearing Account.
Now i want to Load this data using API/Interface, any one has any idea which API's are present or any way of doing this.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Prashant

I have tried winparrot for such loading and now i have a lot of macro to load data from Excel to forms or to any browser.
I do not have a macro for your needs nevertheless it should be very easy to make it.
You can watch on youtube its tutorials for Oracle EBS.

  • Create Invoice from multiple GRPOs with Landed Costs

    Hello all, again,
Sorry to bother again, but this one seems strange to me. Consider the following business process:
    1) One Purchase Order is created in SAP, and sent to provider (no journal entry)
    2) Several partial deliveries are received and posted to inventory (inventory @ invoices to be received)
    3) Partial deliveries are pulled into Landed Costs document (inventory @ invoices to be received)
    4) Steps 2) and 3) may be repeated several times
    5) Invoice of provider is received, with the total amount as per PO
Now in step 5, I have no possibility of "pulling" the PO from step 1), neither pulling the GRPOs created in step 2), because they were used in the Landed Costs document. It is also not possible to "push" the PO to Invoices (only the open amount would be pushed, not the delivered amount). It is only possible to push a single GRPO to Invoices, resulting in lots of manual work and incorrect representation of provider's invoices (1 PO is delivered in up to 100 different shipments of varying quantity).
The only reasonable solution I see at the moment, is to use a service invoice and post it directly to the "invoices to be received" account. Or do you have any other ideas/solutions?
    Thanks for your suggestions,
    Joerg.

I should is correct. Yet it is not possible. I am using 2007 SP00, PL 47.
Do you think I should send the issue to SAP? Do you know of any notes about this issue?
    Thanks,
    Joerg.

  • In transit movement codes - missing amounts

    Hi,
In one of my clients it's been implemented the "in transit" inventory procedure (still in development).
We went from having movement codes 647 and 101 in one step, into 641 and 101 in 2 steps. The problem that I see here is that when I go to check field "BW: Cost Val. in Local Currency" or "Local curr. amount", the values for movement code 101 is zero, while in the 641, I get the correct amount, and I need them completed in BW.
Is there any modification in the configuration that could be missed here?
Any idea on how we can have these fields correctly completed from the ECC side instead of BW?
Any help will be really appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Miriam

641- Is two step procedure wherein Stocks are removed from Unrestricted stock of sending location & place it in of stock in transit at recipient hence stock will reflect In Transit. On receiving goods recipient will take goods receipt with movement.
On the other hand 647 is one step procedure wherein goods receipt (101) is added automatically, so that the goods receipt is posted at the same time as the goods issue. hence stock will not be reflected in Transit

  • Stock in transit tracking

    Hi all,
the requirement is to track the stock in transit against a give PO. Is it possible ?
    Regards,
    Yogesh

    Hi Yogesh,
Similar to my previous thread, the inbound delivery stock in transit is not tracked in stock data. However, you can use inbound delivery information to calculate stock in transit. Here's how this can be done.
First, you use confirmation control key and set it up so the PO needs to have inbound delivery before it can perform goods receipt. Confirmation control key can be defaulted based on info record. Once you have this setup, you can then use table EKES to keep track of in transit inventory. The inbound delivery quantity (EKES-MENGE) is the total stock in transit, and you will have to subtract this number with the GR quantity for this inbound delivery (EKES-DABMG) to calculate the net stock in transit.
Now obviously this recommendation needs to be followed by processes to support it: buyer needs to record inbound delivery information through SAP transaction (VL31N), and GR cannot be done unless the inbound delivery is created.

  • Steps for Period end closing

    Hi All,
Can any one please provide me with the actual steps towards Period end Closing and year end closing for Financial Closing.By step I mean steps in order i.e which step will be followed by which one.
    This is urgent
    Pinee

    Hi
    http://www.sap-basis-abap.com/fico/sap-fi-month-end-and-year-end-activities.htm
First you will have to close the Posting period in the Materials Management side. To do this use the T.Code MMPV and give the period that needs to be Opened. Once this is done you will not be able to Post any Material Documents in the previous period.
Now at the Financial side you need to open the next period and at the same time you need to close the Previous period. This can be done in T.Code OB52
here is the list for FI/CO year end closing check list:
now i am sending one document with T.codes

  • COGS should not be reflected on delivery

One big customer has just required that all the month deliveries will be invoiced after the month end.
We dont want to have a big COGS at the end of the month. So the request its that deliveries hit a "in transit" account after hitting the usual Inventory and COGS accounts.
Since I only have one step to do it (delivery), I did it directly (delivery hits inventory/in transit inventory), now my problem its that now the delivery account movement does not go throught COGS account, its that a requirement that has to be done?
I also created the invoice for this delivery and it hits the same accounts as a regular invoice (client, sales and tax)
Is this correct by finance standards? or how can I check that its right?
    Thank you,
    Carlos

    Hi
I am not clear as to what you want
But, if you want to hit a transit account @ PGI and then credit this @ Billing and Debit your COGS a/c - Yes, it is possible
You need to create an accrual key and use it in your SD pricing procedure.. your SD consultant will know how to do this
At COGS - Transit a/c will be Dr and Inventory a.c will be Cr
At Billing - Customer a/c Dr and Sales a.c Cr... Apart from this, COGS will be Dr and Transit a/c will be Cr
If this is what you want, it is possible
    Regards
    Ajay M
