Incoming call volume settings when locked

Hi, I have the Iphone 5, for some reason incoming calls when the phone is locked are mute or on vibration. When the phone is unlocked it rings normally.
Can someone please advise how I change the volume settings on the phone when its locked? I keep missing phone calls when its locked.
Secondly, how do I change my email address?
Many thanks

When you unlock the phone and are looking at the home screen, if you press the up or down volume button, what do you see? It should say ringer, then a bar at the bottom showing how far the volume is turned up.
The ability to change those settings in Do Not Disturb are only available when Do Not Disturb is turned on, and they are only active when Do Not Disturb is on, not when it is off.
Secondly, make sure the mute switch on the side of the device is not turned on to block the ringing. See this fugure.

This sometimes happens if you have a case or screen protector on the phone.  IF you have one of these remove it and see if it makes any difference

  • Incoming call volume problem

I am getting very frustrated with the low volume of my incoming calls. Has anyone else had problems with this? Did you get any assistance from Apple?

It abides by the Bluetooth standards and worked perfectly with my previous Nokia phones so I can't see why there should be a problem. This was one of the main reasons why I stuck with Nokia when replacing my old mobile. The only possibility is that the N95 is trying to do something particularly clever and isn't backwards compatible, but I'd find it hard to believe that a simple function like volume would change, or that Nokia wouldn't consider compatibility on such a fundamental function of the phone interface.
The car kit isn't upgradeable as it's built in. Backwards compatibility should mean that this shouldn't be an issue.

  • I can't see incoming calls since update when I'm on the phone

I can't see incoming calls since the update when I'm on the phone with someone. The calls don't show up in my recent as missed either.

I went through the steps as suggested.
Until someone calls through, I won't know if my swap icon appears, and I can see who my incoming caller is. I'll let you know when that happens.
Geez, I have a 4 not a 5, no wonder my phone did not appear up to date!

  • Incoming calls not showing when i'm on a call

when i am on the phone and a new call comes in, it give me the tone for an incoming call, but the screen just says "Multiple Calls" and doesn't show the new caller.  There's no way to answer the incoming call (I no longer get the Ignore buttons) and the new call doesn't show in my Missed Calls log.
this is a new problem that just started recently.
    Any advice?
    I'm on an Iphone 4s version 6.1.2
    Thanks,

I am having this exact same problem. I sure do wish someone would answer this! I can't find a solution anywhere.

  • SPA504G : Incoming calls are dead when picked up.

i have an issue with my voip system. it does not allow me to answer incoming calls .the phone is ringing but when pick it up it's dead. at the moment i have a  Netgear router , ports 5060 and 10000-20000 are open .
there are few thing i did so far like turning off SIP ALG on the router and also reducing expiry time to 2 minutes ,but to no avail .
i also did following setting as NAT setting
    Nat mapping enable:yes
    keep NAT aliv enable:yes
    Handle VIA received:yes
    Insert VIA received:yes
    Handle VIA rport:yes
    Insert VIA rport:yes
    Send Resp to Src port:yes
any thing else i can do to solve this out ?
    Thanks,

Capture SIP packets and syslog/debug messages related to incomming call
Then we can analyze the problem.

Sounds like you have a internal connection problem in the iPod. I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of a local Apple store.

  • Volume changing when locking iphone 5

Hi I noticed a couple of times that for some reason after listening to music for a while suddenly the volume starts acting funny. When I lock the Iphone while listening to music the volume increase to the max. and If I unlock the iphone the volume goes to the level I had it before. and this repeats. If locked (using lock button at the top) the volume goes to max again if unlocked the volume goes to the level I had it. I had to restart the music app to stop this. Is this a known bug? Any thoughts?

    Hey dargan,
Thanks for the question. Dust and debris can definitely lead to this issue. If there is any sort of debris in the headphone or lighting port, the phone might think that there’s an accessory connected. For more information, see this resource:

  • Incoming call volume

I noticed that many people have been having issues with outgoing sound quality and volume.  I have a problem with the incoming volume.  Compared to the Curve 8330, it is very quiet even at maximum volume.  Is this a common problem with all newer BBs?  I had a Curve II for a brief period, and it was also much quieter than the Curve.

Hmm... I really haven't noticed I'm using an 8900, but I'll ask around
If someone helped you give them kudos. Research all info!

  • My up button for volume does not work and need to turn incoming call volume up. is there an app to do this

my up volume button does not work and i need to turn the incall volume up. is there an app that does this?

    Hey skeith75,
Thanks for the question. Based on the information you have provided, your iPhone may need to be serviced to fix that button. However, if in the meantime you would like a workaround for turning the volume up on a phone call, you can use Assistive Touch:

  • Adjusting Volume Control - Incoming calls too loud

I have a Samsung Galaxy S GT19000 mobile phone. I have no problem adjusting the volume of normal calls, but when using Skype on my mobile, the speaker volume is so loud that I have to hold the phone away from my ear or put in an earplug. Does anybody know how to adjust the volume in Skype?

I have played with the media volume while on calls and when not on calls.  This does not adjust the sound for skype.  None of my phone's sound options adjust the sound for skype.  Still no solution?

    Hi
The Skype incoming call volume is controlled by your phone's "Media Volume" in the

Try the Media Volume and see if that fixes your issues.

  • N8 Display turns totally black when incoming call ...

My N8's display always turns totally black when there is an incoming call, or even when the
alarm rings. Before  can see the caller's name and answer the call, I have to disable the screen's "keylock".
I tried to find a point  in the phone settings wher I can avoid this, but didn't find any. Is anybody out there to give me a hint ?
    Thanx in advance

When I am inside, the screen acts normally: it goes black when held close to face.  It returns to normal as soon as taken from my face.  However, the screen also goes black if I am outside in daytime when I have an incoming call, and when I make calls also, as soon as I press the green call button. It "thinks" it is near my face.  If I slide the button on the right side of the phone down twice, the screen lights back up normally but the touch screen will not function.  At that point I cannot answer the phone, or if I'm already making a call I cannot hang up nor press the speaker phone button.
There is nothing over the face of the phone.  I removed the protective plastic cover but that did not help.
This seems to occur only when I am outside in the sunlight, so it has something to do with a sensor, either light or heat.
I am aware that this problem has occurred on other N8s.  I have not found any solutions for it.  Perhaps it is not a problem on every N8.  I updated the software last week to 111.040.1511 Symbian Belle.  That software date is from 2012-07-28.

  • 6110 Navigator accidentally cancels incoming calls...

I love my new 6110 but it has an irritating behaviour that makes it almost useless!
Even with the slide closed and Keyguard active, every incoming call gets cancelled when I take it out of the belt pouch. I must be bumping one of the function keys or something.
I have searched the Settings and the manual but I can't find any way to make the external keys inactive when the slide is closed. If I can't fix this problem I am going to have to take it back and swap it for something else.

No, no, no!! It hasn't fixed the problem, just made it a little less.
BUT... I HAVE discovered what is REALLY doing it.
My belt pouch has a flap which is held closed by a strong MAGNET. swiping the front of the phone past this magnet turns on the screen's backlight. If a call is coming in, it also cancels the call!
So, if I carry the phone with the screen towards my body (as the seller recommended, to avoid microwave radiation transmitting into my hip bone), then when I pull it out of the pouch, the screen swipes past the magnet sewn into the flap and cancels the call.
It is even worse if I carry it with the screen outwards. Then the magnet on the closed flap is right against the screen. Just pulling the magnet away from the phone as the flap is opened is enough to cancel the call, even before I touch the phone to take it out of the pouch!!!
Hmmm, time for a new pouch maybe.
