Indesign CS cannot verify serial number

Can anyone help me? I was working with an InDesign CS file suddenly the application crash and after that I cannot open it again. I tried but I get a mmessage that says: Adobe In Design cannot verify the serial number. I try everything I called Adobe and they also do not know waht is going on. This happens after I accept an update for the Acrobat. Please can anyone help me I am working with two project with a terrible deathline!!! I have an Imac 7,1 Intell Core Duo with Mac OS 10.4.11 System. The Illustrator can't be open but the Photoshop opens without any problem. Thanks

Thanks very much your link was the perfect answer to my problem. Sorry for the delay in the answer but I was so busy. Now I see this problem has become a mayor issue many posts about this. Adobe is very slow they haven't give me an answer yet could you believe this? Well thanks to you I do not need them anymore.

start the installation of design premium cs5.5 just to make sure you're using the correct serial number. once your serial number is accepted you'll see a screen giving you the option to install none, some or all of the cs5.5 programs. at that point you can quit and not install anything having verified your cs5.5 serial number if you want nothing cs5.5 on your computer.
on the other hand, if your cs5.5 serial number is not accepted, you'll pinpoint the problem.
or, if your cs5.5 number is accepted, you could install a cs5.5 program and then install cs6. it should recognize you have a cs5.5 program installed and NOT prompt you for you cs5.5 serial number allowing you to continue with your cs6 installation.

Verify Serial number

Downloaded progran, installed by the instructions, when open program panel asked to verify serial number, when submitted it came back and said i need to connect to inet, however I was already connected. My first experience with this program. Hope this is not typical.

You likely have a redemption code on the box that you have to enter into an Adobe website to convert that into a serial number.

Cannot add serial number to my adobe account

hello, maybe someone can help me with this mess:
i bought the cs6 from a software house, and they gave me the link to download the cs6.
all worked fine so far.
but they gave their email-address as adobe account name.
i changed it while i was logged in to my email-adress and verified the adress.
worked too.
then i checked if my cs6 was as purchase in my adobe-account,
and the cs 6 is not there!!!
so i tried to add the serial number, but it keeps asking to put a valid serial number in,
but i have checked, that is the one i have gotten from the software house, the one i have installed.
so how do i get the cs6 that i have purchased into my account.
i just changed the email-adress and now the adobe account does not know anymore
that i bought the cs6....???

my laptop is a new macbook pro with lion on it, if you need to know.

ps: i also do not understand how to get the extra fonts that came as illustrator and indesign download to install
on my mac .... they are all just aliasses...and if i drag them into a folder they are still only an alias?

InDesign Suddenly Not Recognizing Serial Number

I have CS2, which I installed right after I bought the Intel Mac, 3 years ago.
Was able to enter the Photoshop serial number that it wanted at that time, but I have since lost or misplaced the folder that had all my Adobe registration info.
I have the Photoshop disks, the manuals [remember when you actually GOT manuals!], the original boxes, but I can find only ONE serial number, 6.5 upgrade, and the CS2 Install disk doesn't like it.
I have the CS2 serial number.
Here's the problem:
A last week, I had InDesign open and minimized all day while I was dealing with a website issue that took way longer than I thought it would. Forgot all about InDesign. When I tried to shut down at the end of the day, I had to ForceQuit InDesign, but it closed.
The next morning when I tried to open InDesign to continue working, I was presented with the registration page.
I HAVE no serial number just for InDesign except for a previous upgrade [removed by forum moderator] but the InDesign screen doesn't like that at all.
So, I thought I would see if I could re-install it from the original CS2 disks. I put in the first disk and IT wants information! I supplied the serial number but it asks for the serial number of a Photoshop 5.0 or later. I have 5.0, 5.5, and 6.0 - the disks, the manuals, the original boxes, and I entered the ONE serial number I was able to find. It didn't like it.
I've had several Adobe IDs, numerous computer, lots of different email addresses, four or five different physical addresses, and during the past 3+ years have dealt with power outages blowing machines, a flood, and no printer on this Mac. One of my accounts is showing some product registrations, but not all and not a Photoshop 5.0 or beyond. It's showing Elements and Premier, which I purchased afterward for my husband's PC.
Once upon a time, I printed out a record of all the PageMaker, PageMill, and Type purchases, but it's in that mysterious missing "Adobe" folder - the hanging file labeled "Adobe" is empty.
I've entered help desk tickets, but the "resolved" my problem without resolving my problem and haven't responded to my "reopened" ticket.
Now, today, InDesign won't even open at all, even to the registration screen. I do not know what to do.
What can I do? I'm still on Tiger, if that matters at all.
Anyone know. I really need to get into InDesign. Would love to upgrade to CS4, but just cannot afford it right now.

In the middle of cleaning out my Gmail inbox (which was why I didn't respond immediately - way too much "marketing mail" in there). My mind's too muddled right now to make much sense of "techy" stuff, and I'm on a different computer. But I promise, I will give the situation more attention. About the same time that happened, other weird stuff started happening. Haven't pinpointed it. Am on a Mac - guess I felt "too safe".

InDesign installation problem - requests serial number

I just subscribed for Creative Cloud in order to get Photoshop and InDesign in particular. Photoshop works, but I cannot get InDesign to function. When I try to start the application, it says my trial period has expired (which is the case - long time ago I had the trial on my computer) and requests for serial number. Even if the application should obviously be included in my Creative Cloud subscription, I cannot get past this. Could you please advice? Any help would be highly appreciated.

You might try uninstalling and reinstalling
For Uninstall
Control Panel > Programs & Features (Windows 7)
Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs (XP)
Mac HD > Applications > Utilities > Adobe Installers (Mac OS X)
and then reinstall using Adobe Application Manager from the Start Menu (Win) or Applications folder (Mac)

Cannot get Serial Number !

Hi I was trying to resolve a problem with my "Broken" Iphone and It says I Need a serial number in order to talk to the Apple Staff. Well, My phone is in 'Recovery Mode' and this means I Cannot turn my phone on, to get my Serial number, and when I plug it into Itunes it will not show me the number, all it says Is I Need to restore my device... which is what my problem is as it wont restore properly. But in order to sort this out they need my Serial Number but how am I going to get it? I Cannot get my serial number any other way! So please help me!

Indesign suddenly asking for serial number and rejecting the one I have

This question is very similar to that of act_writ from 19/10/2014 ("Sudden trouble opening InDesign - serial number rejected")
- I am asking again because that question was not answered.
We have InDesign CS6 on a Mac, purchased last year with a student license. It always worked and opened the program without asking for a login. All of a sudden yesterday it asked for a login and the serial number, but it rejects the serial number I have received when purchasing the product.
I am still a student so it should not have expired.
Any help would be appreciated - I am pretty desperate as the customer support agent I contacted could not help me.

A serial should be ok if it was ok.
Exceptions are: If the serial was used several times in a way which is causing doubts of its legal use, then will Adobe deactivate it (e.g. use of several serial in connection with illegal copies) or when Adobe shuts down the activation server as it was done with CS2, but the user could replace it with a common serial.
Normal, with a running program it will never ask for a serial, only if the user clean up his computer and delete some folder and files where activation files are hidden. But in that case the serial should be inserted with the next start or in the wort scenario you might uninstall all programs and install them again to be able to enter the serial.
For non English (including UK and US and International) versions users the serial can also fail when the localisation files are deleted.
Maybe that you exchange the serial with some other number or a number from another product which was bundled?
